My build.prop has gone corrupt(0 Bytes file size)
Noticed this before streak crashed.
I did back it up to the sdcard but now when the streak boots it is using the corrupt build.prop.
Screen calibration is all out of position, unlock on the left of the screen when horizontal.
I have tried recalibration of screen but this does not resolve screen setup.
Restore using(vol up down and power) does not rebuild the build.prop.
The only way i can think of resolving is to use 8105 02 upgrade.pkg.
Any idea's anybody?

I have a Mini Pro and want to change the timeout for the keyboard backlight. I have come across an entry in the X10 forum which talks about changing the parameter in the /sys/module/keyboard/parameters/brl_timeout file. The problem is that after reboot this file gets overwritten and reads 300 again. I have tried changing the permissions to make it read-only but it still doesn't work
On the X10 forum someone suggested to go to sys/devices/platform/msm_pmic_misc_led.0/ and put a 0 in the 'brightness' file and save it. However this file doesn't exist on the Mini Pro.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Bump
I would be interested too. It shouldn't be necessary to switch off the light at all since it is only 3-4 LEDs ...
Hi all,
I have a small problem with MROM built 20130113 - i have set mobile data limit set for 4MB and I'm unable to change it and it reduces my network speed to 300Kbits - any idea how to get rid of it?
I was just looking up the same thing. I did find this on how to fix it. It would be nice if it the fix was already in the ROM itself.
How to change Data Usage Policy - CM7
I don't know what I would be doing so I don't want to do it. I would expect that someone has a fix out there but I don't know where to find it.
Thanks, based on this thread I've managed to get rid of it
Shortly:
changing settings.db entries:
throttle_threshold_bytes --> added 000 in the end of the value - now have 3GB
throttle_polling_sec --> changed to 0 to get rid of notification
It worked, but I downloaded the file on my PC and used this program to edit:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/?source=dlp
Then uploaded it back
After that i got myself bootloop (continous, blinking, booting screen) - fixing permission in recovery solved that

What folder did you look in? My data folder has some stuff but I can't find the settings.db
Edit:
Nevermind I found it.
Hi All,
New to the forums and have been doing a bit of modifications to my Settings.apk and settings.db files thanks to all the very helpful people in the forum but I'm stuck in changing the default setting for the screen lock.
Essentially I want to stop the Swipe to unlock screen from appearing after a device restart. I have stopped the display from sleeping by modifying the "screen_off_timeout" value in the settings.db file, but that doesn't stop the lock screen from appearing after a restart.
Does anyone know where this setting would be stored? I tried changing "lockscreen.disabled" in the "secure" table to "1" but it seemed to default back to "0" after a reboot. Is this what I should be changing but am doing something wrong?
I am using a generic chinese Allwinner A31s tablet with Android 4.2.2.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.
As I've got this tablet with not fully working touchscreen (there are areas where touch doesn't work) I can't get through first setup, and i cant turn on ADB or rotate screen to relocate button which i want to press. If there is a kind owner of this tablet, I wish he could make a (possibly small) backup via recovery (.backup file) with ADB and relocating turned on.
If not, maybe somebody knows how to edit .backup file?
Or just how to skip "Welcome" screen..
EDIT: I have solved this problem accidentally turning on TalkBack(No idea how) and then i was able to click 'start' somehow. :victory:
Hey guys,
I have a strange issue when adjusting my bootanimation.zip
the board im using is vim3l running android 9.0 and when i change my bootanimation.zip i get Process System Isn’t Responding error once android is booted and it makes my wallpaper black plus kicks me out of apps every 1minutes.
my boot logo is showing up while booting but the issue shows up once android is booted.
the only thing i adjusted was bootanimation.zip, is there any other file/folder that i need to adjust when modifying bootanimation.zip ?
* by restoring the original bootanimation.zip problem goes away and android works normally so is there another file that needs to be adjusted for the new bootanimation.zip’s file size or something related to it ?
Hi Atika-Plex
I'm currently encountering the same issue (on the same board). Have you find a solution ?
Personnaly, I tried several things (reducing the resolution, removing sequences, etc..) without succcess...
Please let me know if you find something.
