[q] htc touch diamond best rom ? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a htc touch diamond I updated to rom and put xda developers andriod rom.
then I put gen y boot on and I was done. But when I launched andriod the battry said it was low but on windows(6.5 i think) said the battry was full!
so I'm wondering what the best rom for the phone is. I dont no if you can upgrade to wm7 but that is probably impossible! and weather you can flash a adnriod rom straight on to the phone. if not Please just tell me the best rom that can go with andriod Please.
this is my 1st post i just heard you can do this so i know not a lot.

Welcome mate
Battery reading on Andoid builds for WinMo are not accurate yet
Windows 7 on your phone...not a chance mate.
Android ROMS need to run from SD card....They are working on a Flashable version as we speak

Like I said....Hard SPL will allow you to flash your phone to any custom ROM you want...SIM Unlock (which has nothing to do with HSPL) will unlock your phone so you can use it with any GSM Cell Phone carrier in the world

Windows Mobile 6.1 on New Sprint Rom??

I know there has to be a way to add Windows Mobile 6.1 to the new Sprint Rom. Can someone tell me how to add it or do I have to wait for someone to cook up a ROM?

Thaks for helping out another fellow membr.
.....But he can't be serious.
If you crack open your phone, pull the ROM chip, place it in a EEPROM burner, then enter the following code, you'll have 6.1.
01010101 00101101 01010000 10101111 01011001 01010011 11010010 10000111 11101010 10101011 01010010 10101010 10000010 10100111 11101101 11100011 00010111 01010101 01011001 10101101 10001110 01010111 01010101 00001101 11111101 01010101 01111111
(Guess I should've done that in HEX instead of binary....not that I know what the heck I'm talking about...haven't burned an EEPROM in over a decade.)
Yes, maybe a bit rude, but I'm sure you are learning a valuable lesson here. There are no stupid questions......just people who are too lazy to put forth any effort whatsoever.

Surely, you jest?
maybe im asking the question wrong or there is something I don't uderstand. I am new to this and I did install one of dcd roms on my phone, but the new sprint rom came out yesterday. Everything is working fine on my phone finally. I just don't have Windows 6.1 like I used to. Is there a file I can download to upgrade or do I have to totally install a different rom?

You have to download a different ROM. You can't do an upgrade to your existing ROM to take it from 6 to 6.1.

6.1 just came out recently so Sprint did not have time to include it in their recent release. To get 6.1 you will need to flash a custom ROM such as DCDs.
Straight up answer
Unlike regular programs the OS is built into the ROM the only way to upgrade the OS is to Build it into the ROM.

I'm sorry for the late reply.
Yes you can flash the phone with an unbranded rom, you can even flash it with the monosim rom, if you don't want the dual sim function.
Yes I know a lot of people who did it (they liked the phone features bu they don't need the DS functionality.)

Well, ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 2.8.0 says that my soft is up to date so it didn't flash anything. What way of flashing did you mean? Nandroid backup or flashing with a tool. And do you know a place where to find any ROMs?
Thank you for reply
any thread on this phone?
Anyone has a rom for this phone? I can't use upgrade S coz it says I have latest ROM available... Is there any workaround for this ?
Hi, anyone can give me the folder "/system/app" of OTS it's urgent ...
Thanks beforehand.
I'm uploading...
Why do you need it ?
system/apps from One Touch Star:
http://www.sendspace.pl/file/1806088e22aecd902052976
I deleted some app by inadvertently and I haven't notifications...
Thank you for it but for the moment the server is full. :cyclops:
PS: Can you give me your "/system/build.prop", mine is so changed.. ?
Mine is also heavily changed... I can share it anyway but like tommorow (you should remind me via PM).
One guy should have sent me the clean prop but still got no message from him ...
Can anyone confirm for me they have been able to successfully install a custom recovery (like clockworkmod) or a custom ROM onto this phone?
I am looking to get a phone for 6 months of international travel coming up and this one or the One Touch Mini seems perfect. (I like this one better though cause it has an AMOLED screen = better battery life )

Ok well I installed CWM and rooted my phone. I went ahead and got this one. Let's see what's cooking...now if only I can get that boot.img...
I am very happy to report I have created a flashable rom(via CWM or TWRP) which is essentially the same as the default rom on the star, but it has some of the junk apps alcatel pre-loads on the phone like game-loft removed and SuperSU installed.
I created it by getting the firmware.info file for our device, creating a custom update-script (getting the correct partition mounts from the firmware.info) using some pointers from DorianX's AOTI Lite Rom update-script, taking the system directory and boot.img from a nandroid backup after a factory reset, and getting the custpack directory by using a root file explorer to copy it to my sd and subsequently my computer editing the custpack, and finally packaging it together via dsixda's kitchen.
I am still working on slimming it down a little more as there are apps in /system/ that can be removed as well, but I just wanted to see if creating a custom ROM was doable. And it seems it was after 3 days of experimenting
Also got rid of that default hideous white theme by changing a setting in the build.prop.
I can upload it if anyone would like me to.

[Q] HTC One X+ Stock Rom WITHOUT root

Hello,
I've just bought an fresh new HTC One X+ 64GB (last stock from HTC probably, it was very cheap , just 150€)
It bring the ROMv4.1.2 that I like very much
Somehow the phone gets updated via WI-fi to ROM v4.2.2
The reason why I post again this topic is because I've searched and searched to revert to v4.1.2 and always read the word Impossible!!!
The phone heats a lot, the battery lost capacity and I HATE HATE and HATE the ROM v4.2.2.
The question that I leave here to you guys, is really IMPOSSIBLE TO revert to Original ROMof my phone WITHOUT ROOT?
As the phone is quite new, I don't want to lose the warranty!
I've seen a lot of videos on youtube saying stock rom without root, but they use the fastboot, that it seam to be the ROOT!
I've rooted already my Samsung ACE2 and updated using Odin, but on HTC I'm quite newbie.
Can anyone help.
thanks in advance,

Hi,
Thanks for you reply
Just an additional info:
Today I've called to HTC Portugal, and received an very negative feedback.
Means that they are not able to downgrade to v4.1.2!!!!
This is annoying to me and unacceptable for me.
Why I can't get my phone back as I purchased?!!!!
I still on the way to press HTC Portugal, but seems to get some resistance.
I really like the word "impossible" in software matters!
HTC is giving me and different opinion now, at least in Portugal!
Can anyone inform if fastboot for HTC is the same has the so called ROOT?
Until now I've no certainty!
I've read posts saying "downgrade without ROOT" and using fastboot!!!
I'm afraid if using fastboot that lost the warranty!!!!

The thing is you cannot downgrade HBOOT ( the bootloader) and thus you cannot downgrade to 4.1.2
if you want to, install the android rev 8 HD rom, it is essentially sense 5 4.2.2, but i think you can set it to install without like root and xposed

I was wondering that some how possible to downgrade!
Probably that's why HTC Portugal says they won't Downgrade! Not because they don't want to, but because is technically impossible!
Thanks

Advantages / disadvantages of flashing ROM of REDMI NOTE 3 KATE (SPECIAL EDITION)

Hi, i need some advice please. I am not very techie and i have never flashed a ROM before.
I have brought the REDMI NOTE 3 INTERNATIONAL EDITION/SPECIAL EDITION, KATE VERSION
This phone will come with the GLOBAL ROM installed
I am based in the UK and will be using the phone in England. I want to know if i can just use this phone straight out of the box and not have to mess around with flashing the room or changing the bootloader etc?
I would prefer not to do this and i am hoping i don't have to do this....do the experts on here think it will be ok to use without messing with it? Will things like /texting/whatsapp/google maps for GPS/worldnewspapers/sky go/BBC IPLAYER/BT SPORTS/KODI/YOUTUBE/SPOTIFY....will these APPS work without me having to FLASH THE ROM etc?
What are the disadvantages of not flashing the ROM?
Sorry for all the questions, but i have never brought a phone from china before and im worried that i might mess it up and that it wont work properly. Any help or guidance would really be appreciated from the experts on here. My phone will arrive soon and im not sure what to do with it!
Thanks
It will work out of the box.
as you told you never did rooting before, then you're fine with it, as there will be chance you will screw your phone thru rooting.
Advantage is that you can enhance the performance/battery of your phone by flashing custom roms/kernel. and other things you can do for a better experience. It also means you can get update your ROM to the latest android N, currently you are stuck with MM.
I can see no disadvantage of not rooting your phone though.

What should i do in terms of selecting the language/time zone? I've heard that English/UK is not an option and that im supposed to select India or Finland when i first switch the phone on...is that correct?
Also what about the dual sim function, ive been reading that this does not work or something about the fact that if i use an SD card i can't then use 2 sims? Does the SD card go into one of the sim card slots then?

I dont mind stick on marshmallow, my current phone has been on lollipop for ages and im ok with that. Does the performance/battery enhancement via rooting make a huge difference then? I've always read that these REDMI NOTE 3's have a really good battery life and great processor as they are?
