Fascinate users, my team and I are trying to decide whether or not to port over to the Fascinate. We would definitely love to, but want to get a feel for how many Fascinate users would be interested in a Bionix rom. Porting takes time and we'd have to purchase a Fascinate for testing, so we want to know if it will be worth our time and money spent.
Please post within this thread if this is something you would be interested in. Currently we develop mainly for the Vibrant. However, we have begun porting to the Captivate, and soon will be porting to the Epic, i9000, and G2.
Moderators, I apologize if this is in the wrong section, however, we feel we can get more responses if left within the development section.
Thanks Everyone!

Do you have a link to information about your ROM?
I'm not familiar with your rom or team but I'm always all for an alternative to try. I would gladly give your rom a shot when completed for the fascinate.

Please port this over, I've been super jealous of the vibrant users for this ROM for a long time and would really love to see this.
Yes, please. I would happily donate to support your work.
I liked your rom on the vibrant, would live to have it on the fascinate.

I used to constantly see something new from these 2 developers and now I cant remember the last time I saw a new ROM or an update to an existing ROM in the Vibrant forums. Where did these guys go? Their ROMS are the ****! Anyone know?

I miss Whiskey too. I saw eugene doing some work tho
Im not sure if u real all the forums here in vibrant section but Team whiskey just released a next gen beta for donators only on team whiskey forum, that was posted yesterday. Donators get it earlier then the rest of us and for eugene not sure about him.
Eugene still working on that GCR Rom Update 5 wwas recently released. Its a 2.2.1. You can find it in the Android Development section, however, no news from Team WHiskey makes my hear ache Lol. They always have the best roms out there but havent heard from them in a while. I really miss flashing those beasts now
I hope they wud release this donator version to open public soon
I don't know how many people are familiar with faux123, but he makes amazing kernels for a wide range of devices. His kernels are always top notch and squeeze awesome battery life out our your devices. His sensation kernal took a single charge from 8-9 hours of heavy use to over 20. I've notice we have a some good kernel development here but I think we could benefit from some more (especially for MIUI or CM). I've worked with him on the Atrix and he's very interested in the SII but would need money to buy one. I'm going to throw $100 his way to get one but I'm asking for a little help. Visit his profile page, http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3332811 to take a look at what he has done and I'm sure you will agree with me in getting his help over here. The work here is awesome and entropy has done a great job but we can always use some more help.
Just be careful with this thread. Someone did the same thing in the skyrocket forum for an awesome developer to get a skyrocket through donation and there are a few that are giving a ton of crap about it.

Well let's hope this doesn't go the same way. If it does ill have the admins shut down the thread. I'm not trying to cause trouble just trying to help our phone be even more awesome.

Awesome i had the atrix before sgs2 and was using faux kernel overclock made my atrix much better. Id donate if icould spare it unfortunitly im laid off. But glad too see this ihope he gets his device and people can behave
I had the atrix as well. Actually still have it and still dev for it but am digging my s2.

Yeah i had to jump ship moto will not comunicate with its customers. I made a couple threads and got motos facebook wall flooded with people telling them they were gna ditch them if they didnt add the atrix to the ics list. They still have tons of people asking them and they still havent added it to the list the say the same thing every time click this lonk for the latest aoftware news. Lol it hasnt changed the only devices they put on the list are verizon devices. So i gave up and went with the gs2. Sorry op for going off topic im done . Lol moral of the story isbdont buy moto

Well for one thing, the developer looking to get a Skyrocket doesn't need one to produce Skyrocket ROMs. He already has a T-Mobile Galaxy S II that is pretty much identical. Not to mention, his T-Mo ROM was already successfully ported to the Skyrocket. Thus many over there just see it as a money grab. It would be like me asking the i9100 community for a device when I clearly don't need one because our i777 is similar enough for me to make ROMs for them as well.
Well as the title states I can get the vibrant added to the android open kang project builds (aokp). But I would need a working device tree.
I still have my vibrant even though I never really use it. But I would be willing to bring this rom to this device.
Of course it can be ported but what's the point when there is a dedicated build bot to do it for you? Anyways if you are willing to help shoot me a pm, I will reserve all credits for you. I simply want to spread a good rom to the device I learned on.

There is a port of this Rom a couple of threads below in this section, person who ported this might be interested in this.
Side note, you better be working on some kind of cool red theme for ICS!

I've got a lot of ics themes . But when and where I release them is the question.
But yeah I need a device tree to give constant support I'm sure I can hack one together, but since I have a gnex I'd rather not spoil my time. I'm simply trying to help out. I always loved my vibrant and just trying to show some love.

heck yes. That would be Amazing man. AOKP on ALL of my devices has a great ring to it.
Some here may not be familiar.
I've been trying to sync the repo for the last week or so but keep getting errors, I cant guarantee anything as I am in school and dont have that much time on my hands
I have most of the Device Tree set up, The only thing I'm missing is a kernel file
So I was wondering when all the devs are converting i9100 already built roms and putting them in the dev section here do you all ask for permissions from the original roms dev? Just curious as I decided to convert an i9100 xwla4 rom and theme it and change things to properly work on our phones for my OWN personal use/testing. I did this JUST to learn how to do it basically. I have thought about sharing my version but wanted to know the question above or if others are JUST giving the ORIGINAL links and thanks in their op when they post them. Thanks.
Also any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Ask permission
Give credits
Do updates and changes if your going to post a thread
Don't ask for donations
Also it will be moved to the hellraised section eventually.

Without question, you should definitely ask. Worst case scenario is they say no. Best case is that you guys collaborate and we the community ends up with something better
One way that this would actually benefit them is if we keep threads over here, then we are not cluttering up their threads with issues that may only pertain to i777s.
Agreed - ALWAYS ask first. Even if a project appears unmaintained - at least make an attempt at contact and wait a reasonable amount of time first. Sometimes developers take a break and plan to resume work - and when someone "takes up their flag" without talking to them it makes them angry. (This recently happened in the I9100 kernel community - some guy "rebirthed" Ninphetamine without Hacre's permission and then immediately started throwing in features that Hacre would historically flame people for asking for. On top of this, Hacre is seriously considering resuming work when ICS hits.)
Thanks for the comments. I decided to ask in case I eventually wanted to get it onto our devices properly but I got a reply of NO. Bummer cause I liked the CheckRom.

I am no sure if you bave gotten any request yet but wanted to knkw if it wojld be okay to share it with the I777 forum? If you bave already had request then no big deal, I just wanted to try for myself getting a i9100 rom ported/converted to my phone. I did it manually and not with the hellraiser app. Even if it is okay with you and your team I am mot positive if I would share it anyways but thought I woild ask before even thinking about it. Thanks Rich
I am usually running CM7 so that is the reason why I am not sure at this time i I even wanted to. Basically I was able to jse some of the themes, some metamorphs, changed out the kernel and modem, chaned some of the apk's to suit the i777. I knkw this is yours and teams work and IF it is okay please let me know. Of course I would share your links and credit you and all your team. Thanks again in advance.

No, it used parts of their themes plus some of my added morphs. Maybe theh will port ot over eventually because it is an excellent rom with really noce features. As close as I could get on a self contained rom with built in theme engine to cm7 with all its extras.

Well, you could simply release your theme and say that Hellraised CheckROM is a requirement.
I don't think they care about hellraising CheckRom for personal use. I am running it now and have posted on their thread concerning the process.

Nobody cares about personal use.... they usually have issues for re-posting it.
Some devs are just like that and some don't care.
Wanted to let everyone know that I have been making videos for the community for a year now. I'm very excited to share these videos with you all!!
What to expect:
I have videos coming out every week and this will make it easier for those of you who can't seem to find a ROM that you like or perhaps want to know what ROM features are in them. You will be able to see those features and decide for yourself which ROM FITS YOU BEST!!! I will be showing quadrants from some ROMs as well as other SCORES like linpack, nenamark and other benchmarks. Just let me know what you would like to see. I do many different types of phones and ROMS so anything you want to see or know let me know.
I also have a NOOB TUTORIAL coming out that will explain how to ROOT and add ROMS to your phone STEP BY STEP EASY INSTRUCTIONS!

Tutorials are sorely lacking around here. I'm fairly technically savvy, much moreso than the average person. But even for me it's pretty daunting for somebody that's relatively new to rooting and flashing ROMs to actually follow through with it. Most of the step by step guides require a masters in Android before you can even understand them. Between kernels, radios, AOSP/AOKP, CWM/TWRP, nandroid, dalvik, Odin, GAPPS, format/wipe, different kinds of backups... it's pretty crazy. I know it sounds so simple to people who are familiar with it, but trust me, to many people it's not. Especially with a device that costs so much money and you have to make sure everything is compatible with one another. The developers in here do a great job of creating a ton of this stuff to use but it doesn't seem like the most welcoming place for beginners or "n00bs". Seems most questions or problems are treated by saying "you didn't read enough" or "you screwed up" which isn't very helpful. Part of the problem is that guides and tutorials become obsolete and out of date so quickly, yet people don't want to give new advice because something similar is covered in a 6+ month old tutorial.
So long story short... any new tutorials are welcome! I'm considering rooting and putting liquid JB on my Note but feel like it's safer to just wait for the stock upgrade at this point. I "upgraded" my old HTC Magic back in the Cupcake/Donut days to a CM build with new radios/kernels/SPLs or something, and could never un-do it and ended up making the phone useless.
Another excellent thread ....
With your permission I'll gladly add this into the super thread.
It is tireless work like this, that sets the note section apart as the Premier place to be.
I have every intention of using the note 1 for several years to come for the very reason I stated above.
The members and contributors are beyond compare ...
