Google navigation does not make GPS lock - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I start up my phone and try to use navigation, my GPS will not lock. However, if I go into lbstestmode and do position test I can get locks in less than 30 seconds and then navigation works fine. But when I reboot my phone the navigation doesn't work again and I have to do the position test in lbstestmode again. Suggestions anyone?

Are you using the original firmware? Before I began using custom ROMs based on the JI2 or JI6 updates (i.e. Bionix) I'd have to do the same thing before using any application that used the GPS.
Edit: please don't forget to vote on Prop 19 Tuesday (hopefully in favor!)

I am using bionix fusion with the 1 ghz core v1

I had the same problem in macnut r10.
I dled GPS Test app, I set the app to keep the phone awake. Then let it run for 20 mins straight. rebooted and GPS was significantly better. Not as good as some of the 2.1 roms but usable.
K i just put Eugenes jk2 on my phone and GPS still doesn't work.. It worked on stock before i ever flashed any custom rom so wtf. I know a lot of roms i used before this past week didn't have the drivers but now they do and still can't find location....
Try what I suggested.

Navigation issue gingerblur

Not sure if this has been mentioned on here did a quick search to check..
Any how since upgrading to Gingerblur I've not been able to use my navigation app? It opens but that's it wont load any map data or anything.. has anybody else had This issue? Or should I use a stand alone navigation app I'm a UK orange customer

Time to wipe the phone out go do a SBF flash back update than root than install gingerblur the issue should be gone
I'm on gingerblur 3.5 and after just checking now, have no issues. Probably an issue somewhere else.

The issue I've been seeing is when navigation goes to tell me to turn, the app crashes. If I mute navigation, it works fine. I wasn't thinking it was being caused by a mod until I read this post. Looks like ill reload tomorrow to gingerblur 3.5.

[Q] GPS for CM7.1 RC1.6.1

I've just freshly rooted and installed CM7.1 RC1.6.1 with the MR2 radio. Part of the know issues seems to be slow GPS fix, but I can't seem to get a fix at all. The GPS symbol doesn't show at all on the status bar and gps status app doesn't do anything either. Am I missing something or is this normal?
Flash a rom with working GPS and turn it on. get a fix and leave it on, reboot into recovery and flash CM7.
Nothing yu did its a bug

before you do all that, try installing the gps toolbox app in the market and run that if you have not. May or may not solve the problem, but it will take less time.

So does this mean the GPS will be stuck on inside CM7?
I have same prob and with cm7 the above solution works I get lock within 3 seconds. It will work as normal. I used bamf 4.9 to get lock. Then restored my cm7

[Q] Accelerometer broken?

I'm running the stock 2.3.4 update rooted, and it seems that my accelerometer isn't working anymore. GPS Status shows no data from the accelerometer.
Any ideas on what could be causing it? One day it was working, the next day it was not...
Also, is it possible to assign a key to rotate the screen (such as long-pressing search)?

Download GPS Status and re-calibrate. Might help.
I already have GPS Status installed, and I tried recalibrating it. No luck, it still always says 000,000.
