Easy.
Just install which keyboard you want.
Go to Definitions > text and language > and enable that keyboard.
Now try to write a message. Long press in the text box and choose Input Method and choose your new keyboard.

When I wanted to switch my keyboard to Swype, I had to long-press on the text box itself (where your words appear) to be able to choose my keyboard. Hope this helps.

[Q] anyone using ADW or Swype?

I'm just wondering if anyone is using ADW or Swype. These are two big musts for me, so I'd like to know if they both work fully before commiting myself to the SGS2
Swype being used here... Works very well and is one of the default keyboards that comes with the phone....
ADW works but I haven't fully tried it yet as I'm giving touchwiz a good run first..

Go to settings, language & keyboard, click on the settings button and then under keyboard types choose phone. I think that's what you're talking about.

It's still there under settings / language and keyboard on my stock phone.
Just remember, there are two steps to activate the keyboard. First make it available in settings. Then choose to use it by staying to type (in any app), pull down the notifications bar, and select the input method. I always forget the second step, if it makes you feel better.
