Hopefully now that we have 2e recovery on the odin version of 2.2 that eugene released, someone will post a zip for this that we can install in CW.
Actually I have a question someone may be able to answer. I have a zip file for the dark android keyboard. Not sure if you already have to have android keyboard installed and this thing just edits it or it overwrites. If it overwrites, can this be used to install from scratch?

Hello community,
I just installed an instance of a deodexed KA7 stock rooted rom that does not have a custom shutdown menu. Can some one point me in the right direction for one compatible with such rom? It must have the reboot and download options.
Thanks

most custom roms have one
Thanks birgertime. I actually should have made myself more clear. All I want is the custom shutdown apk. Not the entire rom, I'm actually happywith the stock KA7 for now.

Creating a custom shut down menu requires modifying the framework of a ROM and cannot be in the form of an APK.
You could try a program called QuickBoot. You can find it on the market I believe
Dear XDA World,
I have just recently rooted my phone using the superoneclick root on my 2.2 Froyo Vibrant after a good month of research. Currently, I am running Eugene's R2 Final Gingerbread ROM, and I love it; it is very stable and intricately in tune with the Vibrant's functionality. Now, my problem currently is flashing to a voodoo lag fix (frustrating as hell). Anyway, I have tried the JL4 voodoo. zip, because that is what this ROM is closest to, I believe. When I copied to SD card, and went into clockwork recovery to install, it failed, saying, "installation failed," or something similar to that. I thought that voodoo wasn't working for some reason, so I tried to flash Nero v3's ROM: same outcome. If anyone would take time to help out a new user, I would very much appreciate the help. I wish to put voodoo lag fix on this R2 ROM, to be clear. Please be descriptive.

It might be the verification signature.
Go to clockwork recovery then go to install .zip and the toggle verification. Try now.

I love r2. I don't see the need for voodoo.

Great rom Tazz I've been using v29 now and my eris is the fastest it has ever been. I am new to getting themes on roms though and I can't seem to get any of them to work on v29. Are there any links to compatible themes? I was interested in the lucid- froyo black theme. Sorry if this has been answered but I've searched all over and couldn't find anything, and I know you guys would know. Keep up the great work!

Bump. Anyone know any themes for vanilla tazz v29?
Sent from my Vanilla Tazz using XDA Premium App
Do you mean Vanilla Tazz 28? There's no version 29.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733897
Theme-wise you can either use the app Metamorph to theme your froyo rom or use a flash-able zip. There isn't a theme made specific for Vanilla Tazz 28 but since it is Froyo 2.2 you can use Metamorph to change up your swag.
*Note CM7 Android Gingerbread 2.3 Theme Chooser will not work if you were looking at that
Metamorph - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591329
To change up your phone's look just look through the Droid Eris Theme Section or go ahead and look at the Android and Development Theme Section

You'll have to do some digging to find the metamorphs and flashable zip ones since CM7 Theme Chooser is the latest craze right now.
Tazz has released an v29, but I do not think it is official let. He has linked to it here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11360695&postcount=14060
Thanks I'll give it a try again. I've been trying the flashable zip themes specifically able to work for vanilla tazz 28 but it throws me into a boot loop on version 29. Not sure why.

That's because the framework is different from 28 to 29. Which themes are you trying to flash?
I've had touchwiz on my tab from when it was released. Would I be able to go back to stock android if I just delete touchwiz from my tab.

Probably. Let me know if you figure out how to "delete touchwiz."
I don't see why deleting the update wouldn't work but just to be safe I'm gonna wait to see if someone else already successfully deleted touchwiz

I don't see just deleting the update working, nor would I try it. I'm new to Samsung devices and TouchWiz but if it's anything like HTC and Sense when you download, except and install an update that update rewrites the Rom its self.
I know on a stock HTC EVO4G you could roll back an update by finding and installing an older RUU. An RUU is a stock image of your device that can be pushed to your device(in this case a EVO) that is basically what either was installed at the factory or was/is an image of the previous stock rom version. And if I remember correctly it didn't really matter if your device was rooted or not. Of course ourselves if it was rooted, it would break root. That was until HTC added and locked down the new bootloader.... But that's a decision for another forum and thread.
Again I'm new to Samsung and TouchWiz and haven't had the time lately to really really dig into the Tab to see what makes it work.

Hey guys I'm just wondering which rom for the streak 5 you all consider to be "best" ,smoothest, fastest. I'm using longhorn 2.9.3 and I like it but its also my first so I'm feeling antsy to try a different one.
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda app-developers app
DSC. It's the only Gingerbread ROM, other than stock Olleh, that has a working camera zoom. It's also the only Streak ROM still being maintained.
Yes I was actually just browsing the DSC thread. Can it be easily flashed over longhorn 2.9.3?
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda app-developers app
While this information can be found in the first post of the DSC thread, you have to do two factory resets for a successful install of DSC. One of them is Option 1 in the stock Dell menu you see when you access the recovery. The other is the factory reset option in Streakmod.
Okay, and I have to flash the 1.0 before I can update to the 2.3.3? And do I have yo use pdroid (I've not used it) with DSC.
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda app-developers app
Just flash the v2.0 and then the v2.3 over it.
You don't have to use PDroid, but as there is no con to it and the pro is too damn high, why not use it by choice?
If you choose to, then flash v2.0 first, then the PDroid-patch, then v2.3 for PDroid (not the normal one).
Thanks for that reply ill need to look into pdroid before I use it I don't even know what it is. Ill most likely he flashing tonight. Any tips for DSC?

Edit: After searching the forums i cant find any information on pdroid for streak. could someone link a thread (if there is one) please

scratch the edit i found the app on the playstore..i thought it was something that needed to be flashed...
so i do the "Flash me first" then the 2.0 and the 2.3.3 with pdroid and wipe caches and im done?
putting my ds5 on the charger now will flash shortly
i know i keep spamming my own thread but i dont want to make another thread.
do i need to flash the 2.0 PDroid and the 2.3 PDroid provided in the DSC [intl] thread
The PDroid app can only be used if you have flashed the PDroid Patch.
1. Flash the normal DSC v2.0
2. Flash the PDroid patch for v2.0
3. Flash the DSC v.2.3 for Pdroid users (not the normal one)
4. Install the PDroid app you found in the Play Store
All the Zip-files I just mentioned can be found in the original DSC thread
I don't know when wiping cache is necessary, but wiping before every step you flash something shouldn't be too wrong
Mods can delete this thread.
Thanks for the help guys!

I am happy with the recommendations regarding which ROM to flash, so it should stay if you don't mind...
