I'm hoping there is a way to record FM radio on my phone. I have an MP3 player from Creative that does it already, but I'd rather use my phone.
I tried messing around with the stock FM player and couldn't find anything that records.
Is there an app? Any suggestions?
I would like this as well as a video editor

not an app but it works... i recorded the radio with an av/3.5mm cable pluged to phone and the other end into the computer... or you can use just a straight male to male 3.5mm jack cord for direct connect if you dont have av to 3.5mm
Hope this helps sorry i dont have an app for that LOL

I am thinking of getting the EVO3D and read you can use it to listen to the radio. Can I also record a song I hear, and if so, will it be in mp3 format?
Also, if it can't, does anyone know of a Sprint phone or just plain mp3 player that can?
TIA
TuneIn Radio does that on any ANDROID smart phone.

Thanks very much for the suggestion. Hadn't heard of that app before, but it's not quite what I was looking for. I asked in this forum because I read the 3VO has a radio function where you don't need to stream the radio over a data connection.
But, I'm more interested in a phone or device that can receive over the air radio and I can hit record if there's a song I like. Kind of like in the old days where you can hit record on a cassette tape. I've found the Sansa, but those record in .wav format. I was hoping someone had a lead on a way to record directly into mp3 format.
Hi!

Right!
I'd like to watch movies in night but my family wants to sleep^^
So, is it possible?
get a headphone and connect it with your computer in the speaker port :|
^^^
You didn't really solve the problem.
Here's the easy way... get a small fm-transmitter. "you can pick them up for cheap"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM_transmitter_(personal_device)
Plug it into your pc.
Now use the FM-Radio on your phone.
I looked for apps that might allow for bluetooth or wifi audio to be transmitted to your phone but so far nothing.
Also please post questions in the Q&A pages.

I have got headphones! But they are not long enouth!
Btw: I'm not silly. You?
I think I'll try the FM.
Thanks
You could probably use vlc to stream the movie from the computer to the phone and then wear the headphones, the phone would still play the movie but you don't have to look at it.
It would take some setting up but it could be done. I have used vlc to stream my tv-card over the network using dvschedular but it would be difficult for me to say you need to do x,y and z as everyones networks are different.
As well as getting the video/audio streamed you then have to find an app to play it...

is there really such app your looking for?
there was an app for that. I listened to music like this, but you need to have WIFI on PC.

Can I try it for free?
don't know...
Do as I do: if there is no trial, find a cracked one, try it, then BUY IT if it works! (i have bought a lot of apps and PC games this way - so piracy is not bad if you end up buying the product after you try it)
Hi,
yes there is a trail and no, it doesn't really work. The sound is 3 seconds to late.
I think my network is to slow...

It's due to the time it takes to encode, transmit and decode.
The best option you will find is the one i offered.
and a fm transmitter will be cheaper than vnc application.
ooor, there is a very fast way to remove sound from movies (split audio and video). Put audio to mobile, start movie on pc and sound on phone. That way it even conserves battery (no WIFI or net required) on phone.

That may cause audio sync problems.
It also means you have to split every movie you watch.
hi everybody,
there is something about the sgs2 which bugs me. on my old nokia i used to listen to fm radio and use shazam to find songs. when i try this on the sgs2, it says something like the microphone is in use by another application. Is it just me or is this a common problem?
i think you should try to use SoundHound. it is in my opinion much superior than Shazaam. cheers

i guess that something is kinda wrong. i think maybe a wipe should be done by your part. but how to find which app or anything else is using your mic?
is your mic working during calls and voice recording?
this is very strange.

so, i connect the headphones, to have the radio working. and here's what soundhoud says: soundhound is unable to detect a working microphone. another app may have locked the microphone.
and shazam says: couldn't tag music.
everything else works fine, and they can tag music if i have the headphones not connected to the phone.

i have never triedn to tag music with headphones on. maybe it is in all devices and the device can only use the inbuilt mic to tag. i have to check this.
but i can't tonight. tomorrow i will and let you know.

you are probably right, but in this thread we are looking for a solution to tag music from fm radio.
I too had the same error when trying to tag music using either Shazam or SoundHound.
What I think is whenever we start the FM radio, the phone jams (not the correct term, but I guess you got my point) the microphone from usage by any other applications. And both these apps are dependent on the microphone to tag the music. So both fails and gives the error.

If FM record was possible, with the given ROM and libraries, then in theory Shazam or whatever should be able to work with FM.
Is there an FM record function in the stock app ? Or does a common recorder app record FM ? I only have an original Galaxy S and this doesn't seem possible, but the schematics indicate it should theoretically be possible for the audio libraries and/or kernel driver to support this. But that's just theory...
I have been searching around and can't seem to find anyone else that has had this issue....I installed a new stereo in my truck that has Bluetooth and my phone connects fine but when I stream music from my phone the rear speakers don't work. I have checked all the Radio settings and everything on my phone but I don't see any settings for something like that. I am on flapjaxx's ICS IMM76D UCLE2 BASE rom. Any help would be appreciated.

not every bt car audio system has the ability to stream music, just because you can make phone calls through it..
does the owners manual say that you can stream music from any android phone through it?
you might want to contact them and ask them directly
Yes, I actually bought it for the android streaming ability. I figured it has to be my phone since I can not make it do that any other time. Just curious if anyone else has had an issue like this.

Ya could try to/mess around with your radio settings while streaming. Surround sound options etc that might help. Also download a good music player for your phone with a lot of optimization ability. I use power amp pro in my 11 Kia sorento with no issues

Hello guys,
i hope im posting this in the right section.. so here is what im looking for:
my car's radio supports only bluetooth phone function so i cant play music via bluetooth.. but i got this idea last time when even the phone function of whatsapp worked with the bluetooth of my car:
is there an app to play music via the bluetooth-phone instead of bluetooth-headset function? and if not can somebody give me a hint or usefull tutorials (playing music app, using bluetooth and so on) on how to develop such an app?
would be really great if u guys can help me with this it really pisses me off that i cant use bluetooth to play my music! and im sure this would help many others too!
thanks!
First thing this is the wrong section.......
Second.....you don't need an app to do it man.....just connect to your car stereo....then go to Bluetooth settings.....click on the name of your stereo device....open device settings.....there will be an option for use as speaker or something like that....I don't remember the exact words....but I've done it before.....
Third.....always search for tutorials before posting direct questions......
Fouth press thanks buttons if i helped.....
sorry for my late answer..
this didnt help at all.. i dont know if u ever had a radio which is able to only use bluetooth for phone calls. if it would be possible i would have found it in the radio settings for sure but this is the 2nd radio i had to deal with which isnt possible to play music via bluetooth even though it has bluetooth! i would be able to find bluetooth option under sourcers of music playing devices right next to the usb and CD option but there is no bluetooth option.. im not that dumb bro

I guess you got him wrong. You have to look at the Bluetooth settings on your phone and search for your car's radio as output source. If you have paired your device with your radio, you should be able to stream your music to your radio via Bluetooth if supported.
In case your car isn't able to support music playback, then there is no possibility for you to listen to your music besides buying a radio which is able to do so.

at least you understood me right
but is there really no way using phone function to play music? i mean whatsapp is just an app it should be possible developing an selfmade app to create phone bluetooth connection and then play your own music through it. or isnt the bluetooth-phone "tunnel" able to use for other things except calls?
Your issue is that your car radio desert support A2DP protocol. This is what is used to send and receive music to devices.
What you won't to do will not work unless you build an app that sends it's audio through the protocols for the phone. Here you will run into call issues.
