Hi all,
I just got my X10i and its factory unlocked, I have one question. My firmware is still 1.0.14 and SEUS and PC Companion tells me its the most recent firmware. I'm wondering are there anyone else who have a factory unlocked X10i that are still stuck at the 1.0.14 firmware? Also, is it normal for the phone to not have the firmware upgrade despite it being out for around a month ago? Thanks!
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm in the US.
There is another thread that discusses ways to get the newer firmware. Please go search and read up in that thread.

I have a unlocked 10i and I live in the usa and I was able tp get the update. I'm starting to think that getting a update comes down to random luck
Hey Guys,
You may want to verify that the hardware and the firmware match.
When the X10i/a first came out, a solution for debranding became available which entailed using a generic firmware. Unfortunately what ended up happening was that X10a that were flashed to X10i (and vice versa) were said to be no longer supported by SEUS.
Remove your battery and verify that it's an X10i, then go to your service menu and verify that the firmware is also for an X10i.
If the two do not match, don't worry...there is a way to fix it;

Thanks for the responses! I'm pretty sure mines is an X10i running on generic firmware as its factory unlocked to begin with. On a side note I checked the service menu and under Model Info and it says, "Brand: Customized", what does this mean? I'm starting to think the updates depend on version of the phone. I have a Singapore version so that's probably why I can't update yet.
very nice sir
i want to update.my phone is only vibrate, sometime power on butwithy sim
restart ? Any idea?
I have an X10a (not sure if that matters for this question) and I have NOT rooted my phone yet. My question is, should i root my phone before the 2.1 realease in Q4, or is it a bad idea.
Excuse my incompetence towards rooting.
thanks
Edit: I found my answer on the forums, rooting doesn't affect the 2.1 update from SE
Hi,
Can someone please help me rooting my phone. I tried all the options (flashing, using Z4 and Superoneclick), but they don't work.
My problem:
I rooted my X10 on 1.6 because I wanted to have android 2.1. It was on nordic for a while, but I wanted the Dutch version (because of Hyves).
Problem is that the rooting and changing to nordic procedure is different in 2.1, so going back was not the same
I found a way to get my phone back to 1.6 (by flashing, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793). I thought I could root it and change it back to Dutch. Since the Dutch version of 2.1 (with Hyves) is out, I could download it.
Problem is that I can't root this one in some way. I did update from the version from flashing, so version number is: R2BA026. (I am stuck with a useless 1.6 X10!)
Can someone please help me?!
Thank you in advance!

i know this is my first post and all, but im quite concerned as my friend got multitouch for his x10 quite some months ago, and i am yet to recieve the update as ive had no notifications of it at all. Hopefully this website can help me to resolve this issue, i know how to use the search button but ive really no idea what im looking at. All i would like is a few links to point me into the right direction as what im supposed to do to upgrade my software to atleast support multitouch. All your help would be muchly appriciated thanks for reading
Use flash tool 0.2.9.1 to flash the appropriate x10a or x10i 2.1.A.0.435 firmware. Both the flash tool and firmware can be found here....

Here is a detailed step by step guide for noobs on updating. It is based on AT&T X10a, but it will work for anyone. Just use the correct model firmware....

There are ways to implement dualtouch on your existing firmware, however if you flash the generic 2.1.A.0.435 firmware you will be certain to get the official 2.3.3 Gingerbread update directly from PC Companion or SEUS when available.
Just to add on top of the instructions provided,
You will lose your personnel data. So BACKUP before you start with this procedure.
Hello, I used agentJBM's guide to update from 1.6 to 2.1 and haven't had any problems since, until now. When I try to update to 2.3 it says "no update available" even though the roll out map says it's available. I've tried checking from the phone and while hooked up to the PC.
I checked the phone according to the rollout map and I have "X10i GLOBAL-GGL GENERIC 1232-9897". Seems right, but aren't I supposed to be getting this update to?
I realize I can flash it but I'm the type that was looking foward to the official update, straight from the factory and I was just curious why my phone won't acknowledge the update. If this question is in the wrong place, please just tell me where to post and I will do that, thank you.
try reinstal seus or pc companion to get the latest update

Downloadw the latest SEUS and PC-Companion.. and then try updating it .. This should work
Just not working
I appreciate the replies, but I just uninstalled both PC companion and SEUS, and nothing is seeing an update!
Again, I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012380
Both my phone and the programs say "no update available"
This is very frustrating and I would greatly appreciate some help or an answer of some kind. AgentJBM has ignored my question, but in his guide he stated I would be among the first to receive the official 2.3 update! And I don't see anybody else having this problem! Please help!

Hmmm okay looking at the rollout map, the firmware for your customization was rolled out only 4 days ago 16/08/2011. so technically u shud be okay to upgrade, not sure y u cant really, ur on the at&t network arent u? wot i wud recommend u to do is use this which i have found for u, it is the official stock se 2.3.3 global generic firmware http://www.multiupload.com/G5I7H9OQRA (props to the uploader). just use flashtool to flash the ftf and ur ready to go and will be running official SE 2.3.3 software
Ok, I am on ATT, I am concerned that I cannot get the update, but as long as I have a working phone I am ok. Thank you very much for the link, I am confused about flashing without the newbie guide assuring me I'm not missing anything. But since you say it's simple, just like I did last time, then I will go ahead and flash it now. Thank you again!
