Error Searching for networks....cannot enable any radio - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I try to search for networks and I get an error "error while searching for networks" Service mode *#2263# lists no #*#4636*#*# phone info menu "select radio band" sub menu cannot find any bands....usa, automatic, nothing. I recently flashed the Unofficial t-mo 2.2, all was working well since it first hit the boards....until today. I was using exclusively wi-fi today, i went to mobile networks and nothing. Anyone have any ideas for me to try or anything I can do to get this back up and running? Thanks in advance!

After wasting my whole day googling the error messages I have discovered the issue. If you have WIFI calling enabled, there is a sub menu where you can select wifi only. I had this selected thinking it would only effect the WIFI calling application. I was wrong. if you select this option be prepared, you will have no radio. I reccomend using the wifi preferred application app. God I feel stupid. I hope this helps someone in the future when they waste their day googling for answers.

Active Sync and Touch IX via USB

Hi!
After reading a little bit through the other posts I know that I'm not the only one with this problem.
Active Sync via usb is still not working in touch IX. I directly sync with an Exchange server which works perfectly over wireless lan, but when I connect my phone to usb, after a few seconds I get the message (On the phone and in the AS log):
"Cannot connect with current connection settings. To check your connection settings, select Start, then Settings, then Connections."
The funny thing is that I'm able to ping the phone and have full access to the filesystem with the WindowsExplorer, so there realy is a connection established.
I think there is missing a little setting in the phone. I tried to disable the "advanced network functionality" but still no success.
Would be very great if someone could find a solution or we can figure out together what changed between VIII and IX.
Workaround/Solution
After playing around a little bit I found a solution that works, but not why.
After changing the default connections to "My Work Network" is worked!
Go to
Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->Advanced->Select Networks
and select "My Work Network" for both connections.
I have no time left to figure out the difference between "My ISP" and "My Work Network", maybe I'll try this later or someone else could do this

change the topic you are misguiding ,should be "Active Sync and touch IX via usb" is still not working on bluetooth where do this gets discussed then for bluetooth.
you're right, corrected it!
But by the way for me it seems like the root problem could be nearly the same.
I'm hoping that maybe gullum could find the real problem. This would be very fine!
Go and search for USB-Switch.
I found it some months ago and it worked great at WM5. Maybe it works at WM6 too. I got the same problem but I got stuck after step 1 when flashing to WM6/Gullum IX (see my other post).
All USB-Switch does is to switch between RNDIS and serial I think.Maybe this helps.

Need Cingular/AT&T data connection info.

I just upgraded the ROM and radio last night and everything appears to be working properly. In the upgrade though I lost all data connectivity to the AT&T network.
Right now I get an error "Cannot Connect with current conenctions settings" and I don't have any connections setup at all when I hit settings.
Can anyone provide info on how to set data services back up?
Any use?

That's Perfect. thanks.
I was searching the forums high and low and couldn't find it.

Troubleshooting 3g

Anyone got any tips for getting 3g working? Here's all the info.
Stock worked fine on 3g...but I had to manually select the right network.
Installed Kang ICS preview a few weeks back. 3g wouldn't work. When I go to select networks, it searches for a while and then throws an error error searching for networks.
Went back to Overcome a few days ago. I can search for networks and see them, select the right one...it says "registered on network". But still no internet connection.
Back on AOKP 27 and same as ICS preview. "Error searching for networks".
APN is set. Double checked..new one added. Still not working.
Have I flashed a duff radio on one of those ROMs or something?

It should work on B27 as far as I know, Roman hasn't released any other information apart from 3G is back, he mentioned about having to configure it manually to work.

Usually it's in the settings > wireless and networks
In there, on some roms it appears in some "more.." option within the section, then "mobile networks"
But on some roms it appears just as "mobile networks" and to switch to 2g should be there..?
Some confuse it with the section named "data usage"
You have not specified which rom(gb, ics?) you are using hehe but i hope that helps.. i dont remember the wireless and networks setting being any different or be missing on any rom at all, it's always the first option in the settings.
The phones are restricted by the modem so they are on automatic. You can turn data off but cannot switch modes.

[Q] Wifi stopped working

Hi!
I'm from Portugal and I have a Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman and just recently rooted it. It was running Android 2. and I flashed it to Cyanogenmod's Coconut (9.1.0).
I had been using the wifi connection with no problems until recently it just won't connect, to any wifi. I've been abroad and back and it doesn't work anywhere. It appears to get stuck on a loop trying to "get the IP address...". I also noticed as soon as it tries to connect the connection appears as "low" and with only one bar, even though it was previously listed with full bars. After a few tries it gives up and lists the wifi address as "Avoided poor network connection".
I don't remember changing any configurations so I can't work out a reason for this to be happening. Can anyone please help? Is there something I can/should do?
Thanks!
there should be advance setting on the wifi setting submenu, probably got soft button to press on bottom or need to press menu key (can't remember exactly), either way, untick "avoid poor wifi network" on the advance setting.

Hi! Thanks for the quick reply
Unfortunately I can't find any "avoid poor wifi network" on the advanced settings menu. I attached a photo of that menu here. I'm sorry it's in portuguese but maybe it gives you an idea of what's in there.
