Anyone got any tips for getting 3g working? Here's all the info.
Stock worked fine on 3g...but I had to manually select the right network.
Installed Kang ICS preview a few weeks back. 3g wouldn't work. When I go to select networks, it searches for a while and then throws an error error searching for networks.
Went back to Overcome a few days ago. I can search for networks and see them, select the right one...it says "registered on network". But still no internet connection.
Back on AOKP 27 and same as ICS preview. "Error searching for networks".
APN is set. Double checked..new one added. Still not working.
Have I flashed a duff radio on one of those ROMs or something?

It should work on B27 as far as I know, Roman hasn't released any other information apart from 3G is back, he mentioned about having to configure it manually to work.

Yesterday, I successfully updated to android 2.1. I have confirmed that the APN information is correct and that there is sufficient network coverage. I have activated data in the settings - yet I cannot seem to get a data connection. Unless I activate WIFI, neither facebook nor mail will update, and I also cannot open websites in several browsers (opera, fennec, standard browser, dolphin).
I also don't get an icon for 3g or hsdpa connection.
Anyone having the same problem? Or even better... a solution?
Best,
-Mike

I would say it's your carriers networks are down. I had a similar problem but the 3G symbol was there and it just would download anything. I then disabled juice defender and it works perfectly.
If you are running the nordic kit this seems to be a fairly common problem. One of the guys over at phandroid fixed this by going to the SIM Toolkit and downloading settings, but I did not have this option. I was able to get it working temporarily by fiddling with the APN settings, but then like you it just failed to work any more.
I have flashed back to 1.6 and am now going to update with generic uk firmware.
So - I tried the Sony Ericsson option in the settings (topmost menu entry) to automatically download settings, I tried setting them manually, I tried auto-configuring via the apn-options... nothing worked...
then, suddenly, without having changed anything - I get a 3G signal. Seems to have sorted itself out for whatever reason. Will update in case anything changes.

Worked for me.
I try to search for networks and I get an error "error while searching for networks" Service mode *#2263# lists no #*#4636*#*# phone info menu "select radio band" sub menu cannot find any bands....usa, automatic, nothing. I recently flashed the Unofficial t-mo 2.2, all was working well since it first hit the boards....until today. I was using exclusively wi-fi today, i went to mobile networks and nothing. Anyone have any ideas for me to try or anything I can do to get this back up and running? Thanks in advance!
After wasting my whole day googling the error messages I have discovered the issue. If you have WIFI calling enabled, there is a sub menu where you can select wifi only. I had this selected thinking it would only effect the WIFI calling application. I was wrong. if you select this option be prepared, you will have no radio. I reccomend using the wifi preferred application app. God I feel stupid. I hope this helps someone in the future when they waste their day googling for answers.
Hi, I recently updated my phone to ICS and now I am having issues with BT Open one and Fon.
On this phone using GB I turned on my wifi, opened the browser (Dolphin HD) and it kicked me to the log in page whenever I was at work and it was fine. However now I don't get redirected. Instead I get 'webpage not available' in Dolphin, and a lengthy 'DNS lookup failed' message in Chrome. Stock browser is also displaying 'webpage not available'.
I am showing 3 or 4/4 bars on the wifi icon and in wireless settings it says BT Fon connected. But Openzone (which is the only other in range) does exactly the same thing.
I tried calling BT but they don't do tech support for specific devices. She did say, however, that the DNS needs to be set to automatic to redirect to the landing page. I'm not very good with networks and their features so I am stumped here.
I've tried to be as thorough as possible. Does anyone have any advice to point me in the right direction please?

I recently got an LGOG and flashed Cyanogenmod 10.2 onto it. The WiFi wasn't working so I flashed the JB radio to it and everything worked fine. After leaving my house I realize that mobile networks were not working. I switched my access point from "ATT LTE" to "ATT" and then it worked fine. Now for all I know, 4G could be working just fine. However there is no 4g LTE symbol in the notification bar like there is on every other phone I have seen.
Should I try another radio? Should I try another access point?
Thanks.

Most AOSP-based ROMs don't show LTE in the status bar. When you see "4G", that's AT&Ts LTE. When you see "H+", that's 4G. "H" is 3G, etc.

Alright, well I browsed for a while, downloaded an app, and ran speedtest but all I ever saw was just "H". I am assuming that it is the access point I am using.
There is another access point called "ATT LTE" in my phone by default, but when I use that the 5 bars just stays grey and never turns blue. I can post the settings if you would like.

Make sure you have lte on in network mode, then search networks and after it searches select register automatically. Also sometimes bars stay grey if not connected to Google even though you have data service, try opening play store and see if they change.

The network mode I am using is "LTE/WCDMA". After searching for networks it says "Error while searching for networks" and when I press the choose automatically button nothing happens. Applications are still saying no network connection.

Works fine for 3G. But then when I switch to the ATT LTE APN mobile data no longer works.

Link for irc. Other than trying a reboot or reflashing ROM after full wipe ( I know stock answers that usually don't work) I am stumped.

Alright I'll ask there later. Thanks.
I am using CarbonRom and I can't get the network mode to stay on LTE. It keeps changing back to WCDMA only. Does anyone know what is causing this?
Hi All -
I just got my S4 this past weekend (running 4.3) and I now cannot connect to the secure network at work. On my droid if I went to any random webpage the screen for accepting terms would come up, I would click the button to accept and it would connect. With the S4 I cannot seem to get that page to appear. It just uses the 4G for the 'net. If I put it into airplane mode with wifi on, it just has the "not connected" message (tried refreshing many times). I also have tried the wifi manager app (no luck) as well as restarting and using multiple browsers. In searching it looks like this is a known issue, but I can't seem to find a solution that works. I searched here as well (wifi authentication, S4 wifi, etc) with no luck. If I missed a page, I apologize - new here and most of it seemed to be over my head development. Any help or direction would be great as I'm very frustrated.
Thanks
I have to do the same thing with my school network, try to go to the wifi menu, go to settings menu, and hit advanced. There should be an option that says "auto network switch". Uncheck that.

That is already unchecked.
