Ok i know that this is not in tune with the topic being discussed but i am really desperate.
I am a newbie to this site who just got a cingular 8125 and i really really need it to browse using the local GPRS networks here in nigeria.
I have used the Wizard Service Tool to unlock the CID, it just opens the google homepage and does nothing more. Being trying different ROMs to flash the phone but to no avail.
I am really really desperate. Please anyone help.

Seeing a network wizard wasn't easy
Saw some who told me to do a hard spl and install a WM 6.5 Rom which sounded like double blessings so i did that.
Yes it does browse now but it seems the ROM is too heavy for the phone to work with.
As battery life is really shortened, things are a bit slow and other times the phone hangs.
Also the rom has some basic bugs.
Really considering going back to the old ROM
But i know its a complex and risky process so i would have to be sure that this network wizard works before i try it.

I'm having the same problem with my cingular 8125...
One thing I do is instaled Opera mobile 10 in my 8125 and I set my connection-modem connection. and set the parameter to my ISP setting. and it's working...
but my internet explorer still can't browse the web. only my opera mobile and i tried it also with Bolt in esmertec Java,and it's working too...

I've downloaded the ROM and ExtROM from the massive 26 page topic further down the page but ran the .exe and got ERROR 120: country ID error.

Can someone PLEASE put down a step by step 'idiots' guide to upgrading my ROM with links to relevant things i would need to download/install/whatever

Also, I've not been able to find any posts in reference to the M1000, only O2 branded and original HTC devices. Does this mean I'll have problems connecting to Orange and will need to set up GPRS connections, etc myself?
One more thing.... I have an original Orange 1.66 ROM (downloaded from the Orange UK website). If I mess things up, don't like it, have to send it back to Orange, will i just be able to run that ROM update and everything will go back to how it was?

I upgraded mine yesterday with the help of a post on getting round the country id, however bluetooth and camera didnt work so had to go back to old rom, so yes you can go backwards.

Now unrar the files you have. There you'll find "HimaGetDeviceData" file. Copy this one in your PPC.

there you will found data for your USB, Rom version, this meen 1.66.00wwe, PH10, and the last two are very importaint.

first one O2, Qtek, CDL, TMOBILE. Remember your. This is your Operator.
Second one can be ... WWE, ENG, GER. This is your Language.
After this, you need to download ER2003Edit. You can find it in the forom.
When you install this run the program and open ms_.nbf file first.
You will se the operator and Language. Change them if they are different from yours. ( this is the O2, QTEK, and WWE, ENG ).
Save the ROM file ( CTRL+S ).
Do this with the other two NK.nbf and Radio_.nbf files.
Then run " HimaUpgradeUt " and wait for " Congratulations " and you're ready.
Oh, when you get the Congr... Do hard reset.
(dont wory if you see on the screen of your PPC Radio stack or something like this isupgrading "Please wait" do your hard reset. )

I think that you must not use the autodetect ROM, but the specific filetype: ms_.nbf. This worked for me...
This is Hard-SPL for the G4; flashing procedure is essentially the same as G3 although do make sure that the filesize you flash is 0xC0000 rather than the 1MB that people flash for a G3.

This is one is the patched SPL file alone (the original). The other is the 'spoon feed' version meaning you just need to run a file once and all the job is done nice and easily...
PS:
One thing i find hard to understand is why this thread was made sticky a few minutes after being posted and the other two from The Equinox (sSPL and HardSPL), who are meant to be easy to handle and error proof for noobs weren't, even though they have proven to be of great help and acceptance.
Are we here for the good of all or is the status quo a relevant issue? (off the chest...sorry)

My Wizzard is freezing on splashscreen and it's work only in bootloader mode. Is there any way to flash this file ??

You can but you must first build a nk.nb file with it and also flash via RUU

Hard-SPL not working at all on my WIZ (T-Mobile MDA VARIO US G4) CID unlock impossible! Anybody an idea how to get it unlocked?
The spl flashing works fine and it even shows the olip spl when rebooting the wiz but afterwards everything remains the same - can't flash other roms!

Have you tried the Mun RUU in the Hard SPL posted in TS of the Hard SPL thread?
How does the Soft SPL work?

I have an extra 8125 laying around so I thought I would play with it. I applied your update and I am going to assume I can upgrade the 8125 to WM6 as long as the IPL and SPL doesnt change. I have looked at some other post on this site and there seems to be options in wich you can upgrade the IPL/SPL and still CID and SIM unlock the 8125. At the present with the solution from this thread I have the 8125 Sim unlocked.

What is the HardSPL and SoftSPL, do I need to use these to flash new rom to my mobile.

With IPL/SPL 2.17.0001 and running NBD 9 series,which is a wm6 rom,it must have be upgraded through 'SoftSPL' method,now you can change the rom either with SoftSPL or if you want to get your phone semi-CID unlocked,you can apply 'HardSPL',it'll flash patched IPL/SPL to make it semi-CID unlocked,remember,a G4 device cannot be permanantly CID unlocked like a G3 phone,but you'll be able to flash any wm6 or 6.1 rom easily with HardSPL.
HardSPL method is done only once and after that you can flash and change rom easily,where as,with SoftSPL,you'll have to do the Flash every time through SoftSPL,but it doesn't change the original Bootloaders (IPL/SPL).
The choice is your !

I have tried a lot with different ROMs but ...i just wana weep .....i dono wat the hell is happening with all this....
some times wen the installation completes and everything looks fine as with Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2 it worked fine but when i checked the version of WM it says its same as before WM5. sometimes it completes the installation with e.g Xplore_1.1 but at the time of reboot it shoes bootloader screen (try color screen). then i re-install the original WM5 ROM and get my device back in action from that BRICKED HELL.
please help me out and tell me the right path to go on...
1- is it possible to upgrade this device to WM6?
2- if yes then what are the exact files and exact method to do all that?
3- I NEED IT URGENTLY.... I MEAN THE ANSWER.?

oh one thing more i have checked the CID lock the answer is:
SPL version is 2.26.0001
DOC chip is write-protected!!
Downgrade SPL to no higher than 1.06 and
repeat procedure.
Now Tell Me Wat to do????

Well all, i have resolved this problem. the reason was CID Locked. I used one tool to UNLOCK CID. Now everything works fine.

For free? that's not possible unless you're talking about HardSPL (which isn't a real CID unlocking...)

Which tool did you use? Because I used all the tools I know but couldn't unlock that G4 monster. I am going to the mental hospital if I don't find the solution in 24 hours,

Hold your horses here! if its a G4,it cannot be CID unlocked,there's no free solution for this,the only other way to get it upgraded is through 'HardSPL' or 'SoftSPL', both the methods are posted as stickies in this G4 forum,read and do it correctly.

I was given a Softbank X01HT from my brother and I've been using the information on this site to try and get the phone up and working on the Three network in Australia. This site has been really informative and I managed to do a lot of upgrades to my phone and everything works fine except that I get "no service" when I put my Three sim card into the phone. Could someone please help me work out what's wrong with my phone?
Here are the details of my phone:
Device: Softbank X01HT (Black one don't know how old)
IPL-1.04
SPL-2.10.Olipro
ROM Version: CRCs r13.3
Radio Version: 1.47.30.19
I've done the following:
Upgrade to hard SPL (first thing I did)
Run the Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a (Though now I have doubts that I did it right)
Installed various rom (mostly for fun)
Installed Josh V15 Manila 2D rom
Installed the dopod AUS 3network WM6 (I thought it would have the right radio and settings)
Installed the CRC rom (I didn't like the dopod rom)
Any help would be appreciated. I've been searching but I couldn't find a good answer.
I'm not very familiar with that phone but you'll need to create a new data connection so that it can connect to 3.
When creating one, make sure you select the data connection type as GPRS, 3G etc, the access point is called 3services, no username or password is required. Should be good from then on.
These forums are awesome, with a bit more patience and perserverance I finally got my phone to work.
I did more searching on the X01HT and found that people were using the radio rom from pof's SIM & CID Unlocker. There was talk about cooking roms and stuff which I didn't want to try, so I decided to just run through the unlocker again. I made sure that I turned off my phone for 10 secs at the end and do a soft reset after the 10 secs, as I was a bit careless with that part last time.
After getting through all the steps, the phone recognised my sim and configured my phone for the three network. I can now connect to the net and make phone calls.
Now the details of my phone are:
HERM200
IPL-1.01
HERM200
SPL-1.40.Olipro
ROM version: CRC r13.3
Radio version: 1.16.00.00

Mate, bit of advice, install Hard SPL V7 so there are no "accidents" when flashing a new rom... Its a bit better at protecting your Hermes when you flash than 1.40. Thats an older version of Hard SPL.

So, read up on the hard SPL, jumped in, and now I have a new ROM on my P4300. Everything is working just fine and dandy...except for email.
In the Start > Settings > Connections > Connections, I no longer have the "Proxy" option on the "My ISP" connection. It only remains on the "My Work Connection" connection.
I've set up the "My ISP" connection with my provider's information and internet works perfectly, but email will not.
Any ideas?

and i imagine, perhaps something went wrong when you uploaded (flashed) a new OS.
I just think this migth happen.... but why not RE-flash your device with another OS and perhaps it will work as it should..
.... then if you really want your OS go back for it....
