[Q] 260 Errror loading new ROM - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This may be a repeat if so I'm sorry, I have searched but can't find a solution. I have just purchased a HD2 with a vanilla version of WM 6.5 on it. I have tried to load the latest official ROM. The package works until it starts the transfer. The phone then goes to sleep and disconnects from the PC. eventually the loader gives a 260 error. PC win 7, Phone P/N 99HJY030-00 S/N HT01VNW03946 ROM ver V01.00 model ID T8585
Thanks for any help
Nigel

put the phone in bootloader yourself first, then usb, then run the flash.

I am A bit thick but how would I do that?

1 open google
2 type "hd2 how to enter bootloader"
3 follow instructions which are...
4 phone off
5 press hold and keep holding vol down
6 tap and release power
7 don't release vol till coloured bands appear.
8 when you connect usb the word serial becomes usb. once it does, youcan run flashes and hspl.
(sorry, feeling a bit sarcastic today, no offence, all in good humor)

Thanks, I was probably being lazy anyway.

Nope that doesn't work. The coloured screen flashes but the phone just shuts down :-(.
The story is I bought this at a keen price through Amazon as HTC HD2 sim free. Its that, however it appears that it is Taiwanese and has been hacked so it now has basic WM 6.5 and not much else. Ever been had...sigh!

Basically Error 260 means that you are trying to install a stock ROM that don't match with your device.
Based on your S/N I have try deferent Aria, but result is the same.
I suppose you have a branded device.
In this case if you will install a otter aria Rom make use of the GoldCard technique for installation.

I think you should not be too surprised or upset if your HTC HD2 is truly a real Taiwanese model. After all, HTC is a Taiwanese company, with their worldwide headquarters in Taiwan. If it is the real deal from Taiwan, it should be a T8585, which is the same model sold throughout much of southeast Asia and Europe.
I have seen on the Internet some fake HTC HD2 T8585 phones being churned out in China. The best way to tell is if your HD2 has the same specs as listed here. If the specs are the same, you should have no problem if you are following all the steps. If the specs are not the same, then I am afraid you have become a victim of a fraudster.
P.S. Have you investigated using HSPL before tyring to install a new ROM?

The specs appear the same, Qualcomm processor at 1024 MHz.etc. Its just the original HTC software has been removed leaving just WM.
Just can't get into the bootloader to do anything

That is pretty strange. Are all the other specs the same, including screen size? Somewhere on XDA-Developers I believe I saw a cab that can be installed to allow you to go into the bootloader from the OS. If I can find that again I will post a link for you.
Can you install cabs, and access your HD2 either through ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center?
Scroll down on this page and download the bootloader cab.

Keep us updated on your progress and if the bootloader cab worked for you.
Being as you cannot successfully enter the bootloader indicates to me that either you have a defective HD2, or a convincing clone. I do know that some of the clones do not enter the bootloader in the same way as the genuine deal.
One other thing, are you sure it is really shutting down your HD2 after you try to enter the bootloader? Do you see Serial on the screen?

Loaded the bootloader CAB ran OK. Get the coloured screen if USB is plugged in but with error msg that it cannot load and is shutting down. Unconnected the device flash screen and closes (screen dark and all buttons go dark
The unit fits the specs pretty much P/n and S/n are recognised by UK HTC but they say that it is Taiwanese and they can't help.
Boot loader is hold sound up not down which might indicate a clone :-(.

If your unit is recognized by UK HTC it seems more likely that you might have a defective unit.
You could try going to the Taiwan HTC site and trying your luck there, and see if they recognize your unit. For you to do that, I guess you will have to use Google Translate. If their site there recognizes your unit as legitimate, then we will start troubleshooting from there.
If you need help finding the Taiwan site, or navigating it, let me know, and I will try to help you out with that.
Try this and see if it works.

Just beeb to the Taiwan site and input the s/n which it recognised for the ROM update.
I guess that ROM will be all in Chinese however

Okay, we have pretty much established that you have a genuine HTC HD2, which is good. The next thing I think you can try is follow the HSPL link I provided in one of the above posts. HSPL should allow you to install a ROM that your phone would otherwise reject because of a region check.
Ya, if you actually installed the ROM from HTC Taiwan, it would definitely be in Chinese, which you do not want.
Let me know what happens when you try to install one of the versions of HSPL.
PS. I read your post again about the bootloader sequence. That part is strange, but still, if HTC Taiwan recognizes your phone, it seems to be genuine. I guess another thought you may have is sending it in for repairs, but, I bet UK HTC will not want to handle it, but send it to, you guessed it, to Taiwan. Is there anyway you can contact the seller again? He may have sold it because it is defective.

I'm going to try the HSPL but if that doesn't work then its back to the seller. There is something dodgy about this item

Only make note that HSPL and Stock ROM 3.14 isn't compatible. (the combination of this two gives lot of problems.)

Good call, yes.
I am wondering maybe if the OP maybe should not just send it back to the seller. The unusual bootloader sequence is worrying............

also, the website accepting the serial doesn't prove anything except that the SERIAL is genuine. the vol up and power is strange,,,

The HSPL tries to send but the unit goes to sleep and disconnects. I think I have a hooky phone :-(. Thanks for all the time you spent trying to help me.
I'm now going to compose a snot-o-gram to amazon marketplace and get it returned.
Sigh.. At least I know a lot more about HTC phones now.
Cheers all

Good lie to tell T-Mobile for brickin my phone

Well, i ****ed up my phone.
Trying to bring it back alive failed, so I'm going to bring it
back to T-Mobile.
Does someone know a very good lie I can tell them, so I don't have to pay for the repair.
When i try to start my phone, i see a HTC splashscreen, and thats it. Normally it start with a T-Mobile splashscreen. Can they see i tried flashing my phone, or is that an assumption they make.

I did the same with my Vodafone (UK). I just told them I'd hard reset and this is all I can see on the screen (don't get stroppy etc).
Mine will be back Tuesday, warranty repaired.
Vod UK use an outside repair centre so will probably be the same as T-Mobile if you are in UK. Mine needed a new motherboard, but there is a bit of a shortage in the UK (too many bricks???). I guess it depends on the outside service centre contract whether they charge you or T-mobile (and maybe also because I had warranty and Insurance)..
Just go in and plead ignorance, but if they want to charge you, ultimately it was you that ****ed it and not them

That's a new one - when car radio codes first came out they always said to put them in the freezer then stroke the chips legs to erase the cmos... never worked for me, but I'd probably get away with the microwave thing with 3 kids at home!!!
@ Olipro
If you mean the SD-card flashing, T-Mobile Holland doesn't have an update available. There is an T-Mobile Holland ROM available, but the image is older than the image installed on my phone. When checking the ROM in the white screen, it says not allow. I think i need ROM 1.21.114.3 from T-Mobile if I want to do the SD-card flash.
I only have access to the bootloader, I have bootloader 1.04, and I have access to KITL mode, but the Windows CE Platform Builder fix also doesn't work
@ ach2
I was thinking also something like that. That I hard reset my phone and now it's broke. I was also thinking something like I left my phone on the charger for the weekend, and when I came back I did a soft reset because it wouldn't go on and know I only see a HTC splash screen.

Can you think of a good reason whey the boot screen has changed from the normal T-Mobile one... just hope they don't turn on the phone. Did you try Olipro's suggestion?
@ Wam7
The T-Mobile splash screen is in the extended ROM. If the extended ROM is ****ed up like mine is, it probably goes back to its embedded splash screen, and that's the one from HTC. But thats not what I'm going to say, I'm going to say how should I know.
If I remember correctly a guy has managed to dump the ROM from a Hermes and flash it to the phone... saw a thread somewhere here. If that's the case then you should just need a ROM from a fellow dutch T-Mobile owner with the newer ROM. I take it your phone is not SuperCID

if you have 1.04; run the RUU on your computer; you will get a "Vender ID Error" immediately ignore this and run the updater AGAIN (do not touch or unplug your PDA) after doing this a second time it will begin to flash

I did what you said. I connected the phone to my laptop in bootloader. I started the RUU from WMXL 0.20. My phone goes to the white screen and at 0% i get a message on my laptop the connection got disconnected. So i start the RUU again, but again the message my connection got disconnected.
So still working on a good lie.
@vayip: sounds like a problem with the USB on your laptop. Try using a different computer. BL1.04 will let you flash any OS provided your NAND isn't full of bad blocks. You're a long way away from returning your device to Tmo IMO.
On the new computer:
direct USB connect to rear port only no usb hubs
pc running windows XP
turn off screensaver/Powersave mode
close all other apps
hands off the computer for the 25 minutes or so that it takes

Does it matter if the phone is simlocked or not. My phone is not SuperCID.
The strange thing than is, i have 2 laptops. Doing the upgrade don't work on both.
Will try a normal pc then. Maybe more luck.
Follow Oli's advice about retrying the update if you get an initial vendor ID error. BL1.04 will flash any rom without SuperCID due to a bug.
You might want to jump in with mtty first to see if your NAND is full of bad blocks. If it is then your device is toast fttb.....

I completely agree! If you ****ed up your device, than you should have the courage to stand up for it and if it was not your fault, than just tell them the truth! But suggestions like "put it in the microwave for 5secs".... come on
And just a small hint: If you (for example) really put it in the microwave, than you'll better pray that no technician ever analyses your device - if so you could get into serious trouble, mate.
Btw, if you microwave it, you probalby need a new microwave too.
Edit: And i dont think its warranty would cover "I just put my Phone in there"
"So still working on a good lie."
Doesn't breaking your phone through your own actions and then getting it repaired/ replaced for free by telling lies make you a liar and a thief?
I trashed 8525, and that sucks, but it was my fault so I have to pay for it.
In my adventures flashing Roms, I've only bricked 1 Hermes (Cingular 8525). I actually told the local Cingular shop that I broke it 2 weeks after I bought it. The manager told me to bring it in and she replaced it under the 30 day in-store return policy. I was suprised because I had caused the bad NAND Block problem on the device but she said that since I was able to get an official Cingular Rom flashed onto it and it booted into WM5 (just wouldn't do anything because of memory errors).
Now I also have a very good working relationship with this store. I've gotten a phone about every 6 months from them over tha past 2 years and have given them some great info regarding WM5 devices (reccomendations on screen protectors, software & cases etc). I have 3 lines (2 with Data) and even if they don't know me by name eveyone in the store knows me by reputation.
Tomorrow I will have my spare Hermes (also 8525) so we can begin experimenting with getting some additional storage memory without risking bricking my primary phone.
The way I see it, we are taking a chance when we modify our devices.
I've had to return 2 Wizards for Warranty replacement to Cingular, both were CID Unlocked but the problems were unrelated to flashing Roms (One was because the touch screen developed a dead spot the other was because of Radio hardware issues).

Bricked Hermes / No GSM and impossible to flash radio rom

Hi,
A friend of mine upgraded his Hermes with WM6 Rom, and everything worked fine for some time. One day, the pda stopped responding from time to time. I think he tried to correct this flashing once again his TyTn. But the upgrader frozes too. He even disassembles it....
And here I get it... Now it is blocked in the boot screen (IPL 1.04, SPL 2.03). I tried the KITL method, but it doesn't seem to support KITL mode (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1162054#post1162054 At step 3, I'm unable to attach the device).
I tried the SD Card flashing with some random ROMs, but I was not allowed.
I 've just downloaded the official WM6 Rom from the HTC website, but the upgrader is stucked in the GSM part for a really long time.
I have a screen like this :
HERMING.nbh
IPL - OK
BOOTLOADER - OK
SPLASH1 - OK
SPLASH2 - OK
EXTROM - OK
GSM -
OS -
Update In Progress
I don't know how long I should wait or if there is something else I can try now.
Has someone any idea ?
Thx
With mtty and the "set 16 0" command, I'm now able to boot windows mobile.
Unfotunately, it's not over, I have now a "No GSM" message at boot time.
Based on the "unbrick Hermes" wiki page, I installed HardSPL and tried to flash the radio different ways, but none worked
(classic RUUUpdater, the progressbar is stucked at 7%, SSPL+nbh)
Does someone know how to use rerase ?
Hi, now I have the same problem - OS is ok, but GSM ....
Did you unbrick you Hermes?
Unfortunately no.
Even when I put the phone in flight mode, the Hermes freezes after a few minutes, and I need then to soft reset it.
im having the same problem whats the solution to this no gsm thing
First of all, sorry for my English. I have news for you. Our problem cannot be solved with flashing any software. At least in my case flashing couldn't help me. It's hardware problem. Two minutes ago I saw the version of my radio instead of "No GSM" after rehotting the TyTN motherboard. Now it's working normally, I can call and receive calls. All atributes in "Start->Settings->System" of working radio (Radio ver., protocol ver., IMEI etc.) now also are present. And I think many people with suddenly corrupted radio have exactly hardware problem in their PPCs. Thats all news.
ATTENTION!!! If you never solved any hardware problems of mobile devices, please DO NOT try to repair your TyTN by yourself.
Well, how did you solve the hardware problem??
mircha, I've already said, I reheated (or rehot? I don't wich word is correct in this case, please tell me correct variant) CPU, flash chips and other chips on my TyTN motheboard. I made it with special equipment for hardware repair. For other TyTN owners, it's better to send your PPCs to service centre.
Youmoussa, I'm almost shure that your problem is in hardware, because my TyTN also freezed after 3-10 minutes. Since I wrote my previous post (yesterday), it didn't freeze anymore and works perfectly.
Symptoms of hardware problem:
1. Hermes freezes after a few minutes, no reaction on button click, only soft reset helps
2. Updater stucks in the GSM part forever and you have screen like this:
********************
HERMING.nbh
IPL - OK
BOOTLOADER - OK
SPLASH1 - OK
SPLASH2 - OK
EXTROM - OK
GSM -
OS -
Update In Progress...
********************
3. mtty can't calculate CRC of radio ROM
4. before "No GSM" problem Hermes sometimes lost network.
The 2nd and 3rd symptoms mean, there is no physical contact with chip containing radio bootloader and radio ROM, the 4th one means unstable contact with chip
I'm pretty sure you're right about the fact that it's a hardware problem. I had almost the same problem with my Wizard and I open it, it works better.
I haven't tried yet to open the Hermes, but with the Wizard I remember that I couldn't really see the cpu and others because of a steel plate (did that mean something in english?). Is it the same in the Hermes and if yes, did you succeed removing it to gain access to the components?
I have a manual to disassemble my Wizard, is there one available for the Hermes ?
Me toooo
Hi i have the same problem
What is the correct meaning of reheating? Can you make a little description? or can ich send my mobile to you to fix it?
where can i geht htc orig wm6? cannot find it onto the website

Guys, what's the purpose of disassembling your Hermeses? Anyway, you won't be able to repair it without soldering station(photo of soldering station), instruments and knowledge. I used this instruments and I have knowledge and experience.
Photo of Hermes motheboard. The radioblock is in the green square, The CPU and flashchips are in the blue square. Do not pay attention to red square.
instinctless, I think it's not a good idea to send it to me for fixing. The delivery will cost twice as expensive than repair. I'm shure you'll find a service centre a little bit closer to your home than Russia, Far East (Far East is the most eastern region) .

I have knowledge in electronic, I studied it in college. I have already soldered things in my life, so I think it's worth a try.
Theres a htc service manual floating around the forum. Its the technical manual they give to the service centers. It shows you how to disassemble your hermes. You will need a size 6 torque key, a flatblade and phillips head screwdriver.
Remember though, YOU WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY...
For those who are brave, the hermes is pretty tough and resilient, unless you are REALLY rough you won't break anything. just remember to go step by step and take your time. racing ahead means you forget things, connecting ribbon cable for keyboard, battery release switch and camera focus switch are the three that come to mind.
Is pretty easy, JUST TAKE YOUR TIME, its not a race...
Cheers....
Here, got the manual for you guys....

Disassembling is the easiest of all what should be done. Youmoussa, you have knowledge, but, I guess, you haven't got needed instruments listed in my and ultramag69's posts. I can't explain you how to repair it, because of my poor English. I'm shure the are many tutorials in your native language wich can help you much more then I do. The only thing that I can say is what chips must be reheated. By the way, the steel cover which hide the CPU, Flash chips and other chips can be removed very easy with dental needle (it looks like hook). And I told you one more time: YOU CAN DAMAGE YOU DEVICE!

Hero G3

Hi all!
Ok here goes. I bought on ebay a Hero G3 running windows mobile. I think this thing is a clone but it seems pretty identical to the htc, although this phone does not say htc anywhere on it. Behind the battery G3 Hero A6288 is listed.

It came with Windows Mobile 6.5. Although it's a clone, is it still possible that it could run android?
Hardware seems pretty much exactly the same. However from what i've seen from looking around I would need Android installed first off in order to update?
Also somehow last night (I was drunk) the phone has somehow set a password in Windows Mobile and I do not know what the password is and so i am stuck big time! Tried following instructions to do a hard reset but these don't seem to work unless i'm doing something wrong? Windows mobile just boots up.
Is there anyway around this? Is there any ROMs of Windows Mobile out there from this thing that I could put on it to get around the password?
Please help, I have been looking all day for a solution to this and it's driving me crazy!

You _might_ be able to load one of the WM "android kits" onto it which are kicked off post boot up, but it is a China counterfeit handset and thus undoubtedly cannot run it natively

Sorry for bringing back from the dead this thread.
I recently aquired a hero clone, an a6288 with the same specs as the one mentioned in this thread.

Sorry for bringing back from the dead this thread.
I recently aquired a hero clone, an a6288 with the same specs as the one mentioned in this thread.

On the real hero, it's menu, call and end call
But the fake is likely completely different.
Also based upon Windows not Android - so it could be anything - have you tried Ctrl + Alt + Del?

That seems to be the problem. The combination is different, I've tried every forum I can find, in russian, chinese, italian and pretty much anything google can give but no key combination seems to work. The company I bought it from seems to be irresponsible on the matter, and every responce I got from them was wrong.
Is there another way I can force the phone to reset? Through a computer via windows or linux?

No idea. Pull the battery for a while? I honestly haven't a clue about these fakes. They are cheap for a reason I'm afraid
Try pressing every key and seeing what happens, try seeing if there is a pin slot as well and push that whilst trying all sorts of combos. Other the that, my only advice is to never buy a fake.
What did you do that broke it?
You must use the button of ignition and the key Volume + and Volume-.
We touch the key of volume and simultaneously you ignite the cel and it was entering Hard Rest.
i have the same china HERO G3 im newbie and i want to know if is possible to switch fro windows to android!thanks a lot

If it's a proper HTC Hero, it runs Android. If it's a fake, it runs WinMo.
So this doesn't sound to be a HTC Hero Which means no android for you afaik.
For those who want to know, after many emails with the company I bought it from, I came to understanding that even they don't know how to hard reset it. The final solution they provided was to return the product to them to fix it (if possible) or to replace it. So either way, I will do that, although I now have no trust on the device (it hanged for no apparent reason) and will probably never use it for anything more than a backup phone.
Final conclusion: Cheap chinese phones? NO-GO!
hello i have same phone with itallian language
i want move it into English ..
any one help how we can change this phone into english ?
Regards
Hi,
Anyone have a english rom for this phone?
home+menu+power on is the hard reset for this phone
volume down + reset button ( up ) and power
bumping a dead thread.
Trying to fix a friends phone, I installed a simple HTC cab and now the phone won't boot up.
It says Hero, but then doesnt start.
The hard reset keys listed so far don''t seem to be working.
Anyone know any other hard reset combos that might work?
Have any of you tried pressing ALL of the keys available?
The counterfit market is ridiculous.People should research before buying...My wife-to-be nearly got me a nexus one (fake) for £50 thinking it was a real N1 they even call them the Nexus one and Hero so surely that's patent copyright breach?I think they even say HTC on them!

[Q] HTC HD2 help required

Folks,
Need some help on this one. I have an unlocked HTC HD2 (T-mobile branded) with me which i bought in US. The unlocking part works because if i put in a SIM of a different operator it works.
These are the details for it.
OS version 5.2.23138
Manila version 2.5.20183025.0
ROM version 20.Sep.2010 WWE
ROM date 04/28/10
Radio version 2.10.50.26
Protocol version 15.39.50.07U
When i press the left key and power key this is what i see in there
PB81120 HX-B3
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
D 2 Energy
Here are the issues with the phone :-
1. It seems there was android as well on this phone with the SDHC but the SDHC is not there anymore and hence cant boot ANDROID Over it which is not the problem. The problem is the crackling noise when an incoming call is made or received. ( robotic voice issue?)
2. The phone hangs on a lot of applications.
3. Normally when you press the power button full boot-up should happen but in this case the boot up happens after i press the power button and then i hit enter power button again and then i see the ROM version, ENERGY and protocol version in Red on the left hand side bottom corner of the phone only.
Sorry i am not aware at all of how to upgrade/ flash this phone. I mean i need to run HSPL/ HSPL2/ RUU is something i am not aware of. I have downloaded radio 2.15.50.14 but not sure i should be running it. Please let me know the steps of how to go ahead with the phone, run HSPL first? then RUU or run HSPL2?
Cheers!
Mav.
You already have the HSPL on the phone (the SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE line tells this).
I'd suggest starting with the Energy ROM thread to learn how to flash a new ROM:

Thanks Sukru...Since i got this unlocked piece..and i am not interested in playing more with it...can i flash the latest ROM (T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1) and then get going or will it make unusable since the unlock would go away? The reason why i say that because i see the annoying issue of pressing the power button twice after i see the NRG logo to see the details on the left hand side of the phone.
Sorry to ask these dumb questions but i have moved from iOS to WINDOWS/ DROID and i am learning here..
The latest TMOUS version was "T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_3.14.531.1". However it has a different radio version, which uses more power - better signal, less battery life.
I'm new to HD2 - I came from Touch Pro2. HD2 apparently has issues with ROM incompatibilities, and flashing a wrong ROM version might permanently "brick" your phone. Thus unfortunately I cannot make any recommendations on going back to the stock ROM.
But there is a FAQ on the TMOUS version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=808015
They basically say it would work as long as you flash a correct T-Mobile US ROM.

Sukru...thanks..i removed the HSPL using the method in the link that you have below by doing it from the SD card ( formatted using FAT32, renaming it to LEOIMG.nbh etc) and it went smooth but the phone gets stuck at stick together screen...it would sometime boot up and i even went ahead and stopped SENSE since on the forum somewhere i read it might be causing issues..
These are the versions now i have on the phone :-
2.13.90963 8G
2.10.50.26
15.39.50.07U
i used the original rom from t-mobile website...the phone boots up sometimes..but hangs a lot and if it to were to re-boot it takes 3-4 tries to bring it up again..occasionally if i receive a call then i can get the same robotic sound and the phone freezes again...
something else that i need to check in here and move to another higher rom than this which is 3.14?
thanks for ur help!
yea stick the 3.14 rom on, the 2.13 was buggy for many people anyway.
usb flashing is fine now hspl is gone, no need for sd card now.
thanks sam..i did upgrade the rom to 3.14 after downloading from HTC website..
it didnt go through in the first instance and popped an error saying bad image..deleted it from the PC...downloaded again..and upgraded...upgrade went through but now i see stick together with long vibrations..i havent put the SD card in at all ( BTW the card too was class 2)....
any pointers because now its not powering up at all..atleast previously it would power up sometimes and i never saw these long vibrations...
cheers!
Mav
ahh sorry, not sure what else to suggest, other than try it from sd card, though it sounds like a genuine fault.
If it was bought third party, HTC will probably uphold the warranty, if you ask nicely.
I did not know HTC would honor the warranty for 3rd party sales, but it should be worth giving a shot.
Since you do no longer have HSPL -- and do not mention ever having that -- it should be easier. Tell them the truth, but not all of it, i.e.: you were upgrading to the latest TMO ROM.
Otherwise there is an application called Task 29, however it requires HSPL. I used that when I had problems with my previous HTC phone (Touch Pro2). It basically is a ROM, which does some kind of cleaning/format to the internal memory. After you boot it, it gets stuck, and then install another ROM normally.
Wish I had more experience with this phone, as I said it only have been ~10 days.

depends on the age of the phone. All electrical items are covered as standard by a 1 year manufacturers warranty, regardless of the source. (assuming the manufacturer adheres to western sales laws, which htc certainly will.

Flashing multiple times are harmful for any ROM.
Anyways, just download the original winmo from HTC site for your mobile.
Go to the tri color screen (switch off your mobile then pressing power button and repeatedly pressing volume up/down buttons will make your mobile enter tri color screen), and connect your mobile to PC . USB will be shown in your mobile once connected.(I hope you have necessary drivers installed...if not install windows mobile device centre.)
And flash the ROM. N be patient....it may take some time..10..15mins. Just wait.
Once you have installed stock ROM , you can switch to another. But read flashing instructions properly then install custom ROM.

He flashed a non tmous rom to a tmous phone, , , , dead phone.
Although I couldn't help noticing that that rom claims to have a 2.10.50 radio which in theory shouldn't brick a tmous, however it will be about the only non tmous stock rom that WOULDN'T brick a tmous.

Man, what are you trying to do?!!
Are you flashing the stock WinMo ROM? Without entering the tricolor screen!! Seriously!!
Just do the following steps:
1) Download original factory (stock) ROM from HTC website for your mobile.
2) Install WMDC(windows mobile device centre) in your PC.
3) In Mobile, enter tricolor screen,
Method:
Start the phone by pressing the vol down and power buttons together.
4) and when the tricolor bootloader appears connect your mobile to PC and flash the winmo ROM.

I try use android, but android is very lagy and I wanted to reflash stock rom .. To internet I found this guid http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/15/how-to-restore-stock-rom-on-htc-hd2-video/
but reflashing phone he stuck... and now I can't it turn on
ok, now i'm a little confused exactly what position your phone is in.
1 I THINK what you mean is that the flash failed, and the phone now does nothing, nothing at all, screen stays black, no lights, nothing, is that right? (Because that's what i would expect from flashing a non tmous rom onto a tmous phone)
2 however, you could also mean that it starts, but wont do anything, and you cant enter bootloader, , because this is also a fairly common fault (ignore sonalikagaur shouting ''just put it in bootloader'', he obviously doesn't know that there are loads of faults that include not being able to get into bootloader)
Problem is, in both of those situations, there is very little you can do, so ill point a few things to read up on for the different faults.
For case 1, there isn't anything you can do except JTAG it.
For 2, from the various pieces, no bootloader, flash failing at 50% (are you sure it didn't stop at 8% - 10%?), I think it points to a hardware fault, in which case you can possibly try the freezer trick, and there are some threads that talk about not being able to get into bootloader using voldown and power, perhaps they would be worth reading.
however i suspect its deeper than that. If all else fails, there's a thread that talks about heating the mainboard to help the solder joints from the processor to the mainboard reattach, but that's pretty full on stuff, and only to be tried if you don't mind a truly dead phone.
Again, a JTAG may fix it, but then it may not too, and unless you find someone local with teh equipment, its as expensive as a new hd2.
You can sell them for parts for a reasonable amount. Especially the screens.
Good luck.
So samsamual, if its as dead as a doornail, a person shd head straight for a jtag? My boet had 1 which inspired me, and 2years later i managed to get 1, only to enjoy for about a week before i asked my brother to droid mine like he had done his back then. I dnt knw what he was thinking but, number 1 he didnt use winmo device centre, i didnt actually pay attention to what n how he tried flashing, but within the hour i then had myself a rather lovely ornamental piece, yeah, a totally dead bricked HD2, even just laying there deadly n all, i have to say 'what a beautiful phone!' Really, i was heartbroken nonetheless... anyway without a decent telephonic device, my boet had a s2 galaxy and bb 9500 storm which i claimed before he left. A few days later i browsed web for swaps, and amazingly i found a fellow looking for two bbs for an brand new s3, his reasoning that the i9300 is a data pig, it is depending how you set it up. Anyway, two days ago i got me another hd2, bt it also has a frickin problem, it wnt pick up a signal, no service, although yesterday i used whole day on cell c network here in cpt sa, when i changed for a fresh battery (still have my dead spare brick, hence extra battery), then it wdnt pick up a sgnal again, i changed once using my daughters sim, which is the same network, just a newer sim card. It is the same size as the micro sim as far as copper plates on a sim are concerned that i can tell when comparing to my micro sim in my galaxy, my hd2 sim cards' copper plating wd hide my daughters same sized sim card completely. So my q is if her card worked with less plated sim, shd i maybe upgrade my sim card, but... i had a virgin sim in it aswell, worked fine, bt then i wanted my old sim id used the whole day, back in phone, and since yesterday evening up till writing this now this am, i havent bn able to get a signal except when i checked my daugters sim, it worked, took it out, pt mine back, wdnt pick up service, put my kids 1 in again and then it also wdnt pick up again, till nw... nothing? Nw im only sumising but my next q is cd there maybe be damage to the pins that make contact from the phone to the sim? Or cd the phone possibly be blocked And is there gna be a way to check the sim pins without having to disassemble the whole phone. Its nt a major issue though, i cn still connect to the internet via wireless net and do my whatevers there with regard to that, for me its a great phone for anyone into the pc trade, eg, remote desktop pc control, etc etc. So ok, nw... is there a place i cn go to discover jtagn my dead hd2, id like more info, so id probly find in the hd2 forum on xda. I also nd to ask what rom wd i flash if im in south africa, because i knw tmous for us only. And im using cell c in sa, but it gives a long list of operators i cn chose frm if i want, theres even 4 for my country that i cn chose from. Bt cd be many reasons aswel like you sd, i wdnt mind getn other hd2 up n running, and ptn android on both, wel hope I get the 1 andy gn. Iv sum reading to do for this forum. The previous owner of my second hd2 had android on, so then does that mean the phone is rooted already? If it had android on it shd be hey. Leme go read sum, chat later maybe.
