my navi panel is starting up on its own. ive never used it before but if i leave my phone for 5minutes its opens. I've unchecked the box to start automatically when co pilot is used, which I've also never used. this is really unhelpful as the phone keys and screen are unlocked in my pocket and it saps the battery something chronic. please help. I've just upgraded the ROM to stock 3.14 a week ago and a got a few useful cabs installed. nothing ive had a problem with. anyone got any ideas please
any problem with phone auto going into loudspeaker, and/or landscape? how about the backlight? turning off as expected when you put the phone down?active sync connecting ok?
i ask because they are all common to the "stuck in car kit mode" fault, usually associated with dirty/faulty usb port.
quite possibly. found the thread and posted. thanks

I noticed earlier today my phone kept freezing.
the phone HAS been freezing on me recently, at least once an hour
but now every 3 minutes it freezes or resets itself. I have missed a LOT of calls and ttext messages etc.
today has been a disaster. i havent even synced my numbers and contacts. what should I do?
if you haven't installed anything new or tweaked just before the problem started:
as usual - backup and hard reset...
There is a free program called "pim backup" that will backup all your contacts, messages and call log. Then you can do a hard reset.
my phone freezes before I can even back up anything. its the worst
now it seems like if my phone is plugged in and charging, it gives no problem, but as soon as I unplug it, frozen.
im going to try to find PIM backup to see what that can do
wow now I have a bigger problem now. my phone fell and the transcriber cracked so only part of the screen works with touch BUT that was before I hard reset the phone and now the screen align is appearing but I cant touch all of the targets
is there a way to bypass this?
When its at the align screen you can plug it into computer and connect with active sync. Delete the Welcome shortcut from Windows/startup and soft reset. That should skip the alignment. Sorry to hear about the phone. I have a couple moguls if interested PM me about it.
I am having the same issue he was before he cracked his screen up.
I get freezing whenever the phone goes into standby and it will only restart with 2 hits of the reset button. Also it is a coinflip as to whether it will actually start up fully or just keep soft reseting for an extended period without ever loading up fully.
Anyone have any incite or ideas. I am running a ppckitchen vs of windows mobile 6.5 now. It is a kitchen version with few added programs. However I also experienced something similar to this issue with Titan Reloaded 1.3.4 as well but it stopped so I never bothered looking into it. Now this problem occurs about 10-15 times per day and it is frustrating. I am out of warranty and cant send my phone in because I replaced the housing myself.
Thanks
Dave
Also, I have US Cellular if you need to know that.
Thanks
Dave
I had the same problem kind of. Out of nowhere mine would lockup or freeze randomly. Usually after being in my pocket, after hitting all the buttons or squeezing it, it would work again (sometimes but usually after numerou reboots) but then lockup shortly after or flipping the case open and closed. Finally took the case off my phone and blew inside it today put it back together and havent had a lock up all day (1st time since i started havin the problem). It wasnt rom related as i had the same rom for a while, tried reflashing to different kinds of roms and radios but same random lockups. Somethin musta been loose
Well, I went to take my phone apart, probably the 8th or 9th time that I've done it and I ended up ripping the cable for the screen right off. So no more HTC for me for awhile. Unless of coarse someone wants to mail me a cable for free (im broke in college and my rent is due soon.) By judging by how easily the cable ripped I would bet the crease I found right by the rip had already had a slight tear in it.
Thanks for your help.

Hi gurus,
Since around a month, I have experienced some issues with my HD2. Seems like it thinks I'm in a drive mode (car kit mode), going in Landscape Mode and auto-launching NaviPanel, even though I do not even intend to do it .
Besides that, sometimes (God knows when!), it doesn't go in the sleep mode, in this way my battery draining very quick.
I have to mention, that I've tried lot of things: changed the stock with cooked ROM (now, I'm running the Energy ROM, quite pleased with it), I have deactivated the option for "Auto launch NaviPanel in car kit mode", modified the specific registry value, all the efforts being useless...
Now, I'm trying to figure out if you have experienced the same abnormal behavior, if there is a HW problem (I don't remember to fall it down somewhere) or could be something SW which could be somehow repaired ?
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated!
Thanks beforehand!
faulty / dirty usb port. look for the thread "stuck in car kit mode", think its in regular section,
try give it a clean with a dry toothbrush. if not then its a warranty issue.

Great! Now, need to go to warranty...
However, 10x a bunch for hint!
had mine doin that recent too, think it was my little one eating it though lol could see the green leckie fungus growing on the usb port, still sent it off to get checked though in case of a mis-leading warranty issue, but no such joy
Funny though when the phone was working i was getting a lot of weather/ 'my location' failure to update and when it came back still broken it worked fine almost every where i went.... strange eh!

Quite old thread I know.
Wife got the exact same problem this afternoon - I serached high and low and ended up at following link:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t7298156-htc_hd2_just
After removing battery (just in case) Wife began brushing the usb entry gentle for a couple of minutes and then gave it a gentle blow job.
After some brushing and blowing for a few minutes with no WD40 nor water but a dry cleaning she booted the HD2 and everything were back to normal.
There must have been som dirt or what not that made the HD2 belive there was a car kit attached - anyway dry clean USB port and you are all set.
Kindly
Kwas
Hi,
I've just joined after getting linked to this site. Seems like a huge site with plenty of info but unfortunately after a few searches I haven't been able to figure out my problem.
I recently followed a guide on here for replacing the digitizer on my xperia x10 and I followed it to the letter. After re-assembling the phone it refuses to switch on and there is no response when I connect the charger.
A little history.....
The problem started when I dropped the phone in water. I know I have been told that it would never be right again etc etc but I did everything I could to dry the phone and for a couple of months after the incident the phone would switch on and display perfectly and the buttons would work fine also. The only problem was that the touch wouldn't work rendering the phone useless as I couldn't even unlock the screen.
Anyway, every now and again I would switch the phone on again to cHeck if it had made a miraculous recovery but no joy. After asking some questions I decided to replace the screen/digitizer. I remember the last time I tried switching the phone on a few days before taking it apart it wouldn't switch on. It simply gave out a few flashes from the LED. I put this down to the battery being dead and carried on replacing the digitizer.
The only response I get from the phone now is when the charger is connected to my laptop and I remove the battery, the LED gives out a red flash every 2-3 seconds. Although this doesn't happen all the time. Most of the time I get nothing at all. I must add that I did charge the phone at least once or twice successfully after the water incedent so something else must be causing this.
I have heard of issue with these phones not charging but I don't see why this would happen to mine if it wasn't even being used. The phone was only a month or two old when damaged.
Sorry for the long winded introduction and if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate hearing them.
Thanks,
Gav.
anyone had any similar problems to this before?
I know this is an old thread, BUT my X10 won't switch on either now :/ not dropped it ever and ive never got it wet, i turned it off due to it being laggy and unresponsive and now it won't turn on :/ no ROM's not rooted just stock anyone have a fix ? and no i have tried putting it in the computer for the SEUS to fix it but nothing unresponsive
I have recently (the last 3 days) started experiencing some really strange Twilight Zone type stuff with my phone. It originaly started when my phone suddenly went into "Driving Mode". My phone's screen now switches on for no reason and stays on indefinitely. If I switch the screen off with a quick press off the side power button - the screen then stays off - like it's shutdown. Nothing I press or do can bring it back on again. Requiring me to battery pull - and then the whole process restarts. It's very intermittent and doesn't seem to be related to any particular app.
Once my phone is back on, the battery has dropped considerably (screenshots attached). I've been Running Cognition S2 1.51 for a few months now without any hassles.
The phone initially struggled to connect to any of the Samsung chargers I have - it appears to charge now, but connecting to the PC doesn't initiate the MTP app anymore and only charges. This is my baby and I'm really concerned there's a massive hardware prob. Just not sure how it came about as I didn't do anything different from what I've done in the last few months. Any help would be massively appreciated as I'm now using my old wave and it's just not the same as my SGS2 - like being back in the dark ages.
I've reflashed a nan-backup from before the problem started and it still does the above. Is it my Ram? My CPU?...
Please let me know if there is any other info that may help you- help me.
I've started to have the same problem a few days ago too, randomly my phone will enter driving mode and voice recognition keeps coming up randomly too. I have also been getting weird USB messages saying that things are connected when they aren't.

Well I cleaned the inside of my phones Micro-USB port with a new dry clean toothbrush (asd mentioned in a forum somewhere) and that seems to have sorted out the non-connecting issues. You may want to try that... Though I'm still having huge problems with the screen turning on by itself and staying on indefinitely - and the phone blacking out shortly after. Give the toothbrush cleaning thang a go - could solve your problem.

Have you found a solution to this as yet? I've tried absolutely everything I can find, in all available forums; with no success.
Anyone?
have same problems :x
YOU IZ NOT ALONE!!!!
First of all I've been really stressed about this issue now for a week..... I recently went GSM for my DNA, but right before that I noticed my home dock and Car mode symbols popping up on my notification bar. It at first would just bring up the stock docking screen or car mode screen. I assumed it was my charger connections being dirty. I cleaned those on both cord and phone. Still no change although I noticed that if I wiggled the cord I could pop both modes on and off, figuring the cord was shot I went out and bought a new cord. Still no change although wiggling it did nothing now. I then proceeded to disable both modes. This did nothing but cause me to lose other functions like my speakers not working some buttons bringing me to wrong pages and what not. I started searching online for solutions and found a ton of recommendations on apps to stop this from happening. Found a car one for free that works great, but I still cannot stop the home dock from constantly popping up and forcing my wifi to turn on (despite the fact that I've turned off all notifications and forgotten all previously used networks) and refreshing all my apps and web pages while i'm using them. My phone is not rooted and I think that would be my next logical step, but I've never rooted a phone before and don't really know where to start.
Can someone help????
