Gentleman,
Removing the battery door the first time was a little tricky. I felt as though it would be easy to damage the door/door tabs. Is there a trick to it that I'm missing?
Thanks,

I've found that using the corner of a credit card (or similar plastic card) is quite convenient. Just gently push it in the slot where you are supposed to use your fingernail.
Cheers
I spent an hour try to prise the back of the phone as per SGS 1 before spotting it had a different back .
jje
I think it's a lot tougher than first impressions suggest. I've just been prising it off. To put it back on, just insert the bottom tabs first and work your way around the cover, clipping it into place.
It just feels like every time I remove it im wearing down the tsbs on the door or the device tab catchers.
Thanks for the info

Just stick the top of your thumbnail in that little notch on the top right side of the cover, and pull. It'll pop off like butter.
Well, no not like butter, but it's not hard. Don't worry the back cover can take a lot of abuse, lol

There is no trick, I had the same reaction as you on my first time trying to put the battery in, I thought I was going to rip it back to bits. You'll just have to get used to it..
FYI, I use a knife (ones you eat with) to open it, it's much better than trying to use my fingernails
I found that using my fingernail to get it started while slowly pulling back and wiggling it left to right, released it much easier.

It's like the Evo in that sense then... I was always afraid of trashing the plastic clips over the past year, but they are remarkably wear resistant. Just don't rip the cover off and you should be fine.
i'm about to go to a theme park but I can't leave my phone anywhere..i will be going on fast rides taking me into the air and stuff..will this damage my phone in anyway...i know older phones screen gets fuzzy and blurry...

LOL.
Provided it is in a zipped pocket to prevent it from accelerating at 9.81 m/s^2 towards concrete, then you should be fine.
you might damage it on the water rides depending how wet you get.
I suggest you place it firmly in your arm pit.

Also for future references it helps to name the topic in a more helpful way then Hellllppppppppp...
But yes you will be fine. Just take care of it.

wrap it in a plastic bag, I find Morrisons shopping bags the best.
You could go for the megga safe method and wrap loads of duct tape around it also (sellotape works as a good cheap alternative). make sure you get about 5 layers on.
Oh I forgot to say, keep your arms close to your sides.
Make sure you keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times.
i think you should be more worried about people trying to pinch it from your pocket than the g force damaging your phone.
and ,yeah... dont title like that again dude

this guy is really asking for it...
you've got to be kidding me
everyone shake your photon and let me know if u hear any internal rattles. im hearin on in mine, and i thought maybe it was the tab for the SIM but i pulled the cover off and held it and its not that.
anyone know where its coming from if yall have the same noise? its gonna drive me insane!
I think it has to do with the camera lens. The lens makes a noise too when you open the camera app.

That's the only thing I don't like about the Photon, and mainly because it inflames my OCD.

there has been threads on this before lol. its the lense cover inside the camera, its loose when its closed. soon as you turn the camera on it you hear the click when it opens and it gets locked snugly in place.

This! They all do it, nothing to be worried about really.

it's volume buttons or camera lenses.
Upon reading this, i gave my phone a thourough shake and found that i was hearing something rattle around in there. I switched on my camera - shook - and the rattle was still there. Listening closely, i heard it coming from the bottom of my phone, any ideas on what this is? Its not a big deal because i hardly shake my phone. i just want to make sure that it isn't going to be a problem in the long run.

i searched "noise in phone" and such, but now i see i needed to search "rattle"
question answered anyways, thats what the forums are for.
My camera button is loose and rattles. It does not bother me enough to take the phone back but I do wish it was in there solid like my friends photon.
I hear the rattle...not from the buttons thou..sounds like the camera lense
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I believe that rattle is from the shaky micro sd card if you have one. For some reason it doesn't make the noise when the battery is off. Or maybe it is the camera...but i highly doubt its the camera.
It is most likely the position sensor that lets the phone know it's orientation.
Folks, this has been covered. The camera lens cover hangs loose and when the camera starts it's pulled aside and fixed into place. Can be verified easily by starting the camera application or a flashlight application and noting that the rattle stops.

Is there a good camera app that can take good pictures without making things blurry??
I highly recommend camera fx, it is really good and has a lot of options. The other thing to check is to make sure your camera lens on the back of your phone isn't all scratched up. If it is, Google vibrant replacement housing and you can replace it for next to nothing.

Hey guys,
I just noticed this in my pictures yesterday. There is a purple line and what could be the edge of the camera lens showing up in the left corner of my pics. I haven't dropped the phone so I don't know why this issue has shown up recently. My note is about two months old give or take a week. I called customer service and they want me to factory reset my phone. I don't see how that will fix a possible hardware issue. So I have not done this yet. Any ideas or suggestions??
Thanks

First off welcome to XDA! It looks like a scratch to me where is it with landscape and portrait photos
That thought did cross my mind with the purple line. But what do you think the black line underneath the purple line could be??
The lines stay in the left corner in both portrait and landscape modes.
Thanks

Looks to me a small micro crack...can you shine a light on lens and see if its cracked? I had this issue on one of my old phones.
The lines would move to another corner in landscape mode versus portrait mode if it were something physically on the lens or the lens itself.
If they stay in the same corner, it's likely software. Try another camera app to test it.

I assume you do NOT have a case on the phone?
Is there a tiny piece of lint in there somewhere?
That's got to be annoying

I always use a case and screen protector, from day one. I hate "naked" phones.
Melcali- I don't see any lint.

That was the first thing I tried after noticing the problem. I physically don't see anything on the lens and I don't have a magnifying glass. I'm wondering if dirt has gotten behind the glass and lens. I usually store the phone in my back pocket when I'm not holding. Do you think a hard reset would work as customer support suggested?
Thanks
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
If the mark stays in the bottom left corner no matter which way you turn the phone, then yes, a software reset might help.
Is the line in the preview as well, or does it only appear after you take the image?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
It's in the preview too.
Update: the factory reset did not remove the line.

So all other camera apps..show this mark on bottom left corner?..If you've attempted to instal a few different camera apps and they all do it on that corner..its most likely a scratch or dirt mark behind the actual lens itself...I don't think it has anything to do with software related.... trying different camera apps kida debunks that....but I could be wrong I've seen sone pretty weird stuff go on with phones..lol
I tried two different apps so far.
