[Q] Playlist Backup??? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know that there is probably a very simple solution to my problem, but I have yet to find it on our forums...
How do I, when flashing a new ROM, save a backup of my playlists in Music Player? I can't seem to find the files where they are saved in order to copy them and re-install them once my device is restored. I love experimenting with new software, but this is getting very old having to re-create all my lists every time I flash.
Help, anyone?

Instead of creating playlists on your phone, do it on MediaMonkey so you can just sync it when you put a new rom on.

I've never used that app before, but I'll try it out. Thanks!

Titanium Backup will backup/restore your playlists.

[Q] How to restore stock music playlist with Titanium Backup?

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knows how to restore the stock music player playlists from Titanium Backup? Tried restoring [PLAYLISTS] Media Storage and Music 1.1.1 but nothing, any ideas?
I'm running Lite'ning ROM 4.2.
I would also like to know if anyone can help, I have a feeling it cant do it though.
Do you know where the playlists are stored? I've looked everywhere I can think of but haven't found anything.
Bluemuze
I also have no luck with Titanium Backup with GS1 ICS ... However, BlueMuze (free version) works great in backup and restore music playlists.

How to keep 'offline' songs after flashing rom?

Quick question for you guys. In apps like rdio and spotify, if i have it sync a few playlists for offline play it downloads the songs to my phone for later playback. If i flash a rom, it wipes out what i've downloaded and i have to manually choose which playlists for it to sync again. Is there a way to keep the cache for rdio so after a flash it will still have what I selected as offline somewhere? Would moving the app 2 sd fix this?

you would have to find where each program saves its data, each is different, do a google search for the programs you're looking for,
an easier way is to download titanium backup and backup that programs data , sync it to dropbox via titanium backup. Then restore all your programs and data. You really should invest in the program if you don't already have it, its great!

Q: Samsung Stock Music Player Playlists

Does anyone know where the Samsung stock music player saves its playlists... When I restore the music app from titanium backup it doesn't restore the playlists. I tried searching in my nandroid backup for any playlists files and I can't seem to find any.
From a quick look around, they seem to be in the SQLite DB inside Media Storage (com.android.providers.media) in the music_audio_playlists and music_audio_playlists_map tables.
Can you explain how I can find those map tables and how I can restore playlists files from previous Cwm backups
Thank you for the reply

After I'd written the below, I figured there's probably a better solution. You should be able to just restore your Media Storage from Titanium Backup and you'll be all set (to find it, just filter "media"). You can safely ignore the rest, I'm just leaving it there since I already wrote it and it should be still technically correct.
The data is there in your CWM backup (data.ext4.tar\data\com.android.providers.media\databases\(either internal or external)\music_audio_playlists (and music_audio_playlists_map), but I think you're not comfortable with SQL judging by your reply.
The most straightforward solution I can think of for you without touching anything technical would be to make a nandroid backup of your current position, then restore your backup which contains your playlists. Use an app to backup your playlists for you (from a quick look, several backup managers include this function, including MyBackup Root), keep a copy of that backup somewhere, then restore your nandroid backup followed by your playlists backup.
If all that sounds like too much work, you could PM me your com.android.providers.media backup and I'll try and give you an SQL command to import it.
Thank you so much. I will definitely experiment with this and get back to you soon.
I have tried both methods and it works well. I can't thank you enough for your help

(Q) how do I backup Google music play settings

All,
How do I make a backup of my settings, or which file do I need to extract when I want to make a backup of google play?
Issue is the follwoing, As google music currently saves all the music in the Data folder on the Phone (at least in my Galaxy Nexus) and no longer on the sdcard, every time I flash a new rom or an updat I loose Google music. obviously that is not an issue as I can reinstall the app, however the files I want to have locally on the phone need to be re-downloaded. the issue is that with the new install these settings have been lost, and I need to go back in the app and mark every file to be stored offline again from scratch.
I have also tried bracking up via Ti backup, however that leads into bigger problems as after restoring the app gets reset everytime I reboot....
Any help would be appriciated

anybody have any idea where I can start? Is this normal behaviour? what is the correct process to keep my settings when flashing a new rom?

Changing ROMs - Backing Up Google Music Files?

If I am switching ROMs, is there any way to backup and then restore my Google Play Music files?
I have nearly 40GB of playlists etc and would really prefer not to have to redownload them each time. Is there a way to backup a specific folder and then restore it after flashing the new ROM?
I understand they are DRM protected. I don't want to add them to my computer or anything, I just want to avoid the headahce of trying to DL 40gb of data on a very slow connection.
Hi,
I'd like to also step in and ask for a solution. I myself have 30GB that needs downloading everytime i install a new ROM.
I have tried to use Titanium to tell the system that some kind of ID stays the same, but apparently the music is deleted from the phone as soon as the phone is started for the first time, so I can't really tell whether this would work or not.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated
