[Q] Possible to adjust touchscreen sensitive? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any method for adjust the screen sensitive? when my finger is wet or the screen dirty , it is difficult to slide for answer call , i need to wipe the screen clean only can function well ....

Just keep a microfiber cloth (the kind you use for sunglasses/eyeglasses) handy.
It gives me great pleasure to clean my screen and look at the shiny smooth surface knowing my finger can glide effortlessly all over it.
Imagine if it were possible to adjust the responsiveness of the screen. You wouldn't be able to control anything!

I found changing to a matte screen protector helped a lot with the screen responsiveness. It also made the screen slightly dimmer, but removed a lot of glare.

[Review] DC Mugen Privacy screen protector

I just wanted to let you know NOT to buy the new Touch HD privacy screen protectors.
They seem very good "on paper", however in reality it's a major disappointment. The privacy screen protector should reduce the viewing angle of your screen, making sure that people sitting next to you can't see the screen. This feature does in fact work up to a certain point, but the problem is that this screen protector reduces display quality so badly I consider it unusable.
Basically, the entire screen get's a very harsh rainbow color effect and some strange wavy lines that make your screen look like a 1995. CRT screen.
So, in short - avoid it.
I had a mirror screen protector turn up with a case I bought.
Applied it fine, then got the green and pink lines when looking through it, it actually became more clear the larger the angle I looked at it from!
The protector scratched really easily too, tried changing backlight brightness by dragging and I got a nice scratch. I wasn't pushing hard.
Nice idea, poor implementation.
I was thinking about getting something like that. How about some pictures? lol.
If it looks alright, I might swing for it from some other manufacturer because my friend has one on his iPhone and it's perfect.
I threw the protector away 5 minutes after trying it out. It's THAT bad.
As far as the iPhone goes, it's possible that it's not the same manufacturer. Also, it would seem that extremely high pixel density of Touch HD's screen could be linked to the way display get's messed up with rainbow effect.

Default Screen Protector and Glass Screen

Hello
I am right now using the default screen protector that came with the phone and was wondering to to remove it to increse the screen sensitivity
I searched the forum to check it but could find a convincing answer.
So
1. If I remove the pre-applied screen protector will it increse the touch sensitivity (Basic touch and scrolling)
Tried to change the build.prop to increase the windowmgr thing, but it just made scrolling smooth and not the touch.
2. Can the Glass alone hold daily use and resist scratches
Would really apprecite any help
and Moderators if this is a repost please delete it and direct me to the useful thread.
I've got two on and never had any issues.

In call screen rotation

Just noticed that when I'm on a call the screen does indeed go to sleep. However when I take the phone away from my ear it does not wake up. This is a pain for I have to hit the power button to hit the end call. Anyone else have this?

My zagg hd protector has a little notch that shows the tiny circular sensor and its not covered. When looking closer I notice the tiny circular sensor is part of a larger rectangular sensor? This goes left to right. Not sure if this can be the issue since if I cover it the auto brightness does work.

The screen is pressure sensitive

It looks like the screen is actually pressure sensitive at least done with finger or such devices. All you need is to use the right app which provides adjustable curves for pressure control.
Try using Ravioli Paint which lets you change the curvature and start painting drawing with you finger
This might be due to the size of press point as well, in any case it just feels like pressure control to me.
so the screen is "stupid" touch and needs palm recognition to proper write on it?

The screen has no palm rejection because the pen is mainly for the keyboard area.
When I say the screen is pressure sensitive I was referring a special use case where the pressure sensitivy of the screen (via touch) can be used to control pen thickness, opacity etc like the pen.
got that. so the "write on screen" as on SP4 is not possible but you need the virtual kbd in tablet mode?

Yes the screen is not pressure sensitive to the pen, however you can use the pen on screen via "any pen". If you are into drawing the tablet area is far superior to SP4 ntrig, I used to have Surface Book and I hated it. The screen is nice the batter is great but the pen is piece of junk compared to wacom. It has no subtle sensing. I felt like I was drawing with a knife on a glass surface.
thanks. will get mine today. have an XP-Pen here. maybe I will try that for "any pen"

One nice thing about having a separate drawing area and no palm rejection on the screen is that you do not have to move your pen from the surface area to do finger gestures on the screen. WHen there is palm rejection you always have to move the pen away from the screen to use finger gestures or finger touchses since both wont work at the same time.

I9300 Touch not responding until I press screen hard?

Hi guys. I have an old I9300 and it works great for it's age. But, when it gets a little hot it stops responding to my touches. I found out that the only solution is to press it hard in the lower left corner and then it works normal after that until it happens again. This solution works all the time. I tried opening the phone up and pressing that part (there's a connector for something there) with a small piece of paper, but it doesn't help.
Anyone had any problem like this or something?
Thanks
PS: is there any remedy for the horrible screen burn in except a new display?
Lick your finger and touch the screen. if it doesn't work then the digitiser may be delaminated or faulty.

This sounds interesting enough Will try the next time it happens. Will also feel stupid doing it, but yolo.
Conductive screens work on moisture on your skin causing an x-y voltage drop..
Capacitive screens work on x-y voltage resistance caused by pressure..
If it's glass is conductive. If it's plastic is capacitive.
Wetting your finger makes sure you don't have dry or dirty hands and ensures a good contact. If you were licking the screen itself you might get a funny look from passers by..
