Are you making sure to set USB Debug Mode?
Settings>Applications>Development>Check "USB Debugging"
Make sure you are set to charge only, not USB Disk Mode.
Also make sure you have rooted first. I used Z4Root from the Market.
Just a couple basic things to check... I do not know of a way personally to do it through the terminal, I used ADB.

Put recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-1.1.0.img and flash_image on the sdcard. Then open the terminal (you can use terminal emulator, from market) and give the following commands:
$ su
# mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system
# cat /mnt/sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image
# chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
# flash_image recovery /mnt/sdcard/recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-1.1.0.img
# reboot recovery
Thanks very much,
i have solved the problem with the termiral,

Yes, when i start my phone, i use key : vol_down + home + power, and juste after LG splashscreen, black screen with this code
It looks like you got into fastboot mode. Try flashing the recovery image using fastboot. If it doesn't work, enter emergency mode and flash the original firmware with kdz updater.
When i try
Code:
fastboot.exe flash boot recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-1.1.0.img
I've this message :
Code:
sending 'boot' (4910 KB)... OKAY
writing 'boot'... FAILED (remote: flash write failure)

The image recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-1.1.0.img has to be flashed on the recovery partition, not on the boot partition. The right command is:
fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery-RA-GNM-thunderg-1.1.0.img
I try but the same message :'(
can you explain me how enter emergency mode and flash the original firmware with kdz updater
0) remove SDCARD
1) Turn on USB debugging
2) Run KDZ updater
3) select 3GQCT and DIAG mode for connect/flashing
4) Chose fimrware (you can chose from one of original-one)
5) Start flashing
- for few seconds phone will turn itself into emergency mode and flashing will start
- then it shutdown itself
- keep everything as it is and turn it on again
- some message in log will appear and it should be successfully ended (I disconnected it for first time when phone was shutdown and it don't start up correctly after)

I have the firmware for my phone, but I am not exactly sure how to do the "Start Flashing" part.
I am a noob with the Optimus One, but I have definitely worked on a Samsung Spica for some time before I got this P500. And the difference is HUGE!

Is there a good walkthrough for a step-by-step guide to root and install recover on these phones (I have an Optimus T P509 phone, i'm told is the same as the Optimus One)?

Look one thread Custom Recovery P500/Thunderg on development part.
About P509 T - it is just P500 with T-Mobile customization, if I'm not wrong.

Hello people
I think my HTC Hero is what you call softbricked.
When I hold Home + Power on to go to recovery mode I get this single line of text:
Build : RA-hero-v1.5.2
If I hold Home and press power on the text disappears leaving an all black screen. Pressing home + power on again brings the text back.
When I boot normally it just keeps saying "Hero"
I think I did a full wipe, installed VillainROM 6.0.0 and then did a OTA update to VillainROM 6.1.0. I did notice the latest rom being rather slow and hanging sometimes. Then three days ago it froze. I pulled the battery and when I put it back in I was left with what I've described above.
Can't access VillainROM's official website
Another frustrating thing is that w w w. villainrom .co .uk has seemed down to me this whole softbrick-period. But they've announced a new version and no one have commented on their site being down. Apparently I'm the only one who can't access it.
Vol. down + power on
I've never used this boot mode. But it's the only one which seems to work.
HBOOT says Sd checking and all the tests results in:
No image! or No image or wrong image!
FASTBOOT just gives a red box with the white text FASTBOOT in it.
What can i do?
I did a nandroid backup before installing VillainROM 6.0.0 but I can't access recovery mode.
I would like to install the official 1.5 RUU-rom but HTC Sync can't find my phone, neither can adb shell.
I can insert the SD card in my computer and put an update.zip file in the root. Is this a solution? I don't know how to make the phone boot the update.zip file or how this works.
Sorry for this long post. I've been searching the web ever since thursday without any luck. So now I'm just putting all I've experienced out.
I hope someone can help me. I would be very glad
Alright, if you can get to the fastboot screen, this is what you should do:
Plug your hero in fastboot mode into a computer with the latest android sdk installed.
DL the latest recovery for your device: I don't think I can post links yet so search the forum for Amon RA's recovery (1.6.2) and place it in the tools folder of the sdk.
Then:
Open a command prompt (or terminal for linux, idk for mac)
Go to the tools folder with cd
(./)fastboot boot recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img
(./ is for linux ^^,) And that should normally work
From there your best bet is to use Nandroid to recover one of your backups.
Thank you for your response
But I got an error:
Code:
C:\android-sdk-windows\tools\fastboot boot recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img
downloading 'boot.img' ... FAILED (remote: not allow)
finished. total time: 0.010s
The site I downloaded the recovery image from suggestion this installation:
via fastboot + adb -> In case you don't have a custom recovery, so when you get signature fail errors
Code:
adb shell reboot bootloader fastboot boot recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img adb shell mount /sdcard adb push recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img /sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img adb shell reboot
I've also tried this but it resulted in: error: device not found
I've noticed how my phone says "fastboot usb" when connected to my computer.

The site isn't down, but some people can't get to it due to their DNS setup.
Use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to get it, or go to http://villainrom.grense.no/villainrom.co.uk to get in.

Yes, I have tried booting without SD card and without simcard aswell. My simcard is now in a good old Nokia 3310
I have updated the radio earlier
A while ago I updated the radio to this version: 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26
Is that an android 2.1-radio? And is that what's causing "not allow" when running fastboot flash?
What recovery image would I then be allowed to flash? An official one?
Or is it my bootloader (that's SPL, right?) that needs to be flashed to a version that allows the fastboot flashing?
I haven't been able to find a guide on flashing SPL on HTC Hero.
Is this the way to go?
Still need help or is this now sorted?....
It's now working
My phone is now working. I did the following:
1. Connected my phone to a computer with HTC Sync and drivers installed.
2. Started the bootloader on my phone (vol. down + power on, hold until bootloader starts).
3. Pressed back to start fastboot. It said fastboot usb because it was connected to my computer.
4. I tried to install an official 1.5 RUU rom. The phone responded and began the process. It cleared/deleted some caches/files or something. But then my computer and my phone said that the ROM installation had failed and that I should find the right rom.
5. Somehow this cleaned up the phone so I now could boot in recovery mode as I used to (I didn't try a normal boot, so can't say if that worked). I did a full wipe and flashed a custom rom (not VillainROM 6.0.0 ).
Even though VillainROM has made me sad I will now go for VillainROM 10.
Wish me luck
And thanks for your responses.
Brilliant. Just edit the title of your thread to put [SOLVED] on.
And good luck, but i'm sure you wont need it.

well i am saying that be sure to enable usb debugging in future for the time just use the method to revive your phn back ,when ur phn is on just be sure usb debugging is enabled and than flash recovery using any method u r comfortable with, use the lgmdp method its safe and kdz flashing is used the shaking method when the phn is in dead condition as ur phn boot to lg logo so the lgmdp method will work even the kdz but the later one is bit risky.

Press Power + Home button
It will boot into fastboot mode and then just follow the method as shown on the thread (link that you mentioned)
Make sure to download 5.0.2.0 CWM recovery image from here
Two things that i wanna advise you about
1) Read that thread very carefully, understand what you are doing and follow each and every command.
2) Make sure to rename the download *.img file to recovery.img
Note that .img is the extension and not to be included in name
I'm sure this will help
Once done, type in fastboot reboot and wait for the phone to boot to the previous instance, where the phone was before this happened
Avoid using 5.0.2.7; its buggy

Excuse me, what Android system recovery do you mean? The system recovery menu that the vodafone smart tab 4g has by default?
I didn't mention this recovery method in my writing. Other method I explained. The CWM recovery method as follows:
First download and decompress:
SmartTab4G_Recovery_KK_benjaminwan_EN.zip
switch on the smart tab 4g and connect it via USB to your PC. USB debugging should be turned ON!
and in command line in a terminal type:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot -i 0x1bbb oem unlock
fastboot -i 0x1bbb boot cwm.img
wait a little and then you will see the CWM screen and then install the cm-11-20150714-M12-pop8lte.zip file which must be copied on the microSD TF card you inserted in the tablet. When the flashing is over, reboot and you're ready to go.

Now you need to go into the bootloader mode on the tablet.
So,
1. Switch it OFF
2. Press and hold the volume DOWN button together with the power ON button and keep them pressed for 5 seconds until you see on the tablet screen the black screen with the writing "POWERED BY android" in white at the bottom. You are now in bootloader mode.
3. Connect the tablet via USB to your PC
4. Download and decompress: SmartTab4G_Recovery_KK_benjaminwan_EN.zip
5. In command line in a terminal window on your PC type:

I personally installed the pico to have more space on the /system partition.

I did this same procedure that I mentioned with exactly the same files that you downloaded from the mediafire links I gave out and here is the results the tablet returned to the PC terminal. My PC is running Linux by the way but the result should be the same in Windows if the drivers for the tablet are installed correctly:
Latitude-D820# fastboot -i 0x1bbb oem unlock
...
OKAY [ 0.003s]
finished. total time: 0.003s
Latitude-D820# fastboot -i 0x1bbb boot cwm.img

OKAY [ 0.090s]
finished. total time: 0.587s
Please make sure you have installed all drivers correctly, that all the files are accessible in their permissions and privileges and that all the files are in the same folder in your PC. What ROM is your smart tab 4 G now running?

And where is the right drivers? My Vodafone Smart Tab 4g P353X is bricked and the only connection that i have is for QDLoader 9008 with QPST. How to establish connection for ADB?
Now in device manager i can get Android Bootloader Interface after installing official POP 8S drivers, but i still can`t get the device to be listed in ADB... and to see the tablet in device manager i have to hold power+vol down. Power+vol up=recovery mode and vol up+vol down= qdloader 9008(download mode for Qualcomm).

How did your Vodafone Smart Tab 4G get bricked?
I would propose you to consider to connect it to a Linux PC (running Linux Mint for example) and install the latest ADB package on it and then connect your Vodafone Smart Tab 4G.
In Linux you don't need any drivers.

you're welcome.
my personal view is that, yes, they are better because they work much faster with less computing overhead for the tablet providing at the same time more features.
one however, need be extra careful when flashing those ROMs to the tablet in order not to cause damage and brick it.

'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Can you please help me?
Also , what is the purpose of the SmartTab4G_Recovery_KK_benjaminwan_EN ? Do I have to execute a file in order to proceed?

Hi,
my LG-D160 is rooted and with twrp.
In the past i installed an unofficial Cyanogen 11 for LG-D170, which was not fully working. So i restored the backup with twrp which i made before Cyanogenmod flashing with twrp. In the hardware information of android i could see the model name "LG-D170", which is wrong. The phone seems to work.
Now i want to flash stock rom kdz. I use the lg flashtool 2014, Windows 10 64 bit.
If i start into Download Mode / Firmware Update (by pressing the "volume up" button and connection the USB cable + also holding "volume up") and start the LG flashtool 2014. In the flash tool "software upgrade in progress" stops at 2% and tells me to switch of phone, put usb cable .... and to "retry".
Any ideas ? Thank you.

Try to manually flash the files, see if the volume up mode recognizes your phone in fastboot, if it does, you can try out my tool (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6vSHGXxJIWmVjRVMlRSQW9HWWs) and from there you can manually flash it.
You need to change the info on the build.prop to the correct model before the Flash Tool will work.

adb shell on my LG-D160 phone:
in /system/build.prop:
ro.product.model=LG-D160 -> So it seems to be right.
On android GUI:
system settings -> hardware information -> model tells me: LG-D170
So iam confused.

Looking at an install guide for the cm11 rom, I see that you are supposed to have flashed another bootloader. That is probably the issue here. You would have to see if you can find a way to just flash the stock bootloader and then try the Flash Tool again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development-d802/fix-lg-flash-tool-stuck-2-t3031112 - this is for the G2, but wondering if there might be some info there that could help point you in the right direction too.

I restored my backuped stock boot and recovery partition with the adb shell / dd. The modelname in android -> settings is now correct "LG-D160". The flashtool already stops at 2 % and tell me to "retry".
fastboot devices shows also nothing in the firmware update screen ("power up" button mode) after restore of stock boot and recovery partition.
Thank you for your link.
hello all,
sorry for my english.
My wife has my old phone G5, with twrp and fulmicsrom. But...
But, this morning, she deleted an application, but impossible to know which one. The phone starts in bootloop, with the blue LED flashing slowly.
I wonder if it failed to remove the boot loader (can not boot above).
adb no longer sees the phone, fastboot either.
The only access still possible is with "high flight" + "USB cable plugged". The phone goes into update download mode.
How can I restore a bootloader or a rom? With which software?
Thank you for your help.

So the recovery option doesn't work either? Because if it would work you could ofcourse just reflash Fulmics. I suppose she deleted it with root access accidentally?
Thanks for tour answers.
My problem is :
how to flash (original firmware or fulmics)?
In the phone, ok: mode download (thé only mode acces)
But, on my computer, which software to use?
Rémi.
Hello,
I come back with my problem. I got a kdz file: H85020v_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0323.kdz
But you can not find a utility to flash in download mode.
Are you little idea for me please?
Remi.
Download mode:
Turn off phone.
Hold volume up.
Insert USB cable still holding volume up.
Use LGUP and you need G5 dll files (drivers).
Info
Thanks for the Link
is it risky to flash the firmware
I recovered, while I had the fulmicrom before? I think so.
Is there a fulmicrom in kdz file?

hello all,
This post to give news of the smartphone:
I downloaded the various files here: https://www.stechguide.com/download-install-stock-rom-lg-g5/ (thanks @Sebar87 for the first link)
I Upgrade my kdz file ... 1% .. 2% ... 50% ... (ok!?) ... 100% !!! Cool!!!!!
The phone restarts, then 2 minutes later, a little music!
But after 10 minutes, still no pin code screen. And the phone starts to warm up slightly.
I had a little hope, but there I am a little afraid ....
Rémi.

Thank's for your reply.
what is this block/bootdevice/ and, why put these 256 bytes to zero?
Hello!
I took everything almost to zero!
Since I have access to recovery (and anyway, now, I boot all the time on it), I did this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/stock-h850-30a-eu-rom-flashable-zips-t3850072
copy of the rom on the SD card,
copy of magisk on the map sd
installation of the rom
magisk installation
data format
reboot
----> back to recovery !!!
dd / dev / zero
reboot
-----> back to recovery !!!!

What I have done:
- flash H85030a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0910.kdz with lgup
- flash twrp
- reboot in recovery
- flash H85030a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0910.zip
- wipe/format data/cache/bin
- dd /dev/zero in misc and fota
reboot -> not working
- flash k2000 kernel
reboot -> not working
- dd /dev/zero in misc and fota
reboot -> not working
- reflash H85030a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0910.kdz
and tadam!!!!!
I'm very happy!
Thank's all in the world!
