[Q] Angry Birds won't Install... - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I Installed Angry Birds after the 2.1 update and it worked fine, but then I remebered I backed it up with Titanium so I thought I would install the backup so I'd have all my progress back, unforntunatly the app would not work after this and even after deleting every file releted to angry birds and trying to install it again it won't install. It will say Install unsuccesfull everytime wether from the market or a .apk file on my sdcard. Angry Birds Seasons works fine though.
EDIT: Finally got it goin, ignore this question

Angry birds don't want to install

Please could someone help. I have TnT lite 4.2.4 installed on my tablet. This morning I tried installing angry birds, it downloads fine but gives an error when it installs. I had previously deleted it. I tried installing from the market as well as sideloading it from an APK. Still don't want to install. Please help!

I don't know what file manager you have installed on your gtab, but I suggest to use Root Explorer or Rom Manager to do this, or install Terminal Emulator.
If you use Root Explorer or Rom Manager, when you go to these directories, change mount from r/o to r/w. If you use Terminal Emulator, make sure you are logged in as su (super user).
Check the following locations for AngryBirds files:
1) /data/data/ directory - Remove any com.rovio.angrybirds directories2) /mnt/asec/ directory - Remove any com.rovio.angrybirds directories
3) /mnt/secure/asec/ directory - verify com.rovio.angrybirds files are gone. If not, remove.
4) Go through the list of programs in Titanium Backup, and double-check to make sure you don't find Angry Birds listed anywhere (not crossed out). If you do find an entry, use Titanium Backup to uninstall.
Reboot into recovery. Wipe cache only, then restart.
Then, install Angry Birds from Android Market.
Hi
Thanks for your response. I managed to remove that file and now it installs perfectly!
You are a star!
Anry Birds still not installing
I am still having "Installation error - unknown reason -18" when trying to install Angry Birds. I cannot find any rovio files/directories using Root Explorer and Titanium backup. No "rovio" files returned when searching with Root Explorer. I am running Tnt Lite v4.40.
It was preinstalled and working on the stock ROM when I bought the tablet new from CompUSA if that makes any difference.
Any help would be appreciated.

[SOLVED] TNT Lite 4.4.0 Unable to install APK files

Got my G Tablet the other day and installed ClockworkMod and TNT Lite 4.4.0. I was able to get a few apps to install from the market, but most caused the launcher to force close once they hit the install phase (downloaded just fine).
I downloaded ConnectBot from the developer site and figured I would use adb to install the apk. Turns out that also causes the launcher to force close and so does putting the apk on the sdcard and using the file manager to open it with the installer.
Ideas?
[EDIT]
BTW, the symptom was that the launcher would close and I'd go back to the boot animation for a few seconds and back to the lock screen.
Update:
I rebooted and went into clockworkmod and did a factory reset. I'm now able to install everything I want except.... I was able to install Angry Birds Rio, which had been on there before the wipe. I cannot install Angry Birds or Seasons (both on there before). They both fail with unknown reason: -18.
I've wiped the cache and dalvik cache in clockworkmod as well used the fix permissions. Still cannot install those apps.
Ideas?
USB connected. Went into Master/Apps and found an Angry Birds APK file. Removed it to my laptop and then tried the install. Worked and so Did AB Seasons.
SOLVED!

package file is invalid

I installed angry birds Rio today just fine. Later I had to do a factory reset. I tried to install angry birds rio and after the download is finished, it said package file is invalid. I tried to download a few other apps and they installed fine.
I've tried clearing cache and play store data still no luck?
Anyone want to dl the app to test it out?

It means, there is an issue the package/apk available for angry birds in Google playstore at the moment. This kind of problem usually gets fixed after free hrs to few days.
You can restore the game If you have a backup, or side load it (download it off market via app brain or getjar)
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII

how to remove application which is not installed, but system thinks it is?

hi,
long story short i ended up with angry birds partially installed on my system. Titanium backup pro is not able to restore the application(hangs on restore), when i try to side-load the app im getting Application Not Installed error. When i try to install it via market, im getting incompatible update error. Angry birds is nowhere to be found in the system(root) folder and also i cant see it in "installed apps".
I tried to unmount SDcard(SW and also in real life), remove everything with ROVIO or ANGRY from root, wiped dalvik and cache partition.
So i was wondering, where does the system store installed application list?
Is there any way how to force install the apk?
I have found 2 possible solutions, modifying Androidmanifest.xml of the apk or loading the apk with package installer. will any of those help?(i wont have access for PC for several hours).
thanks.

[Q] most games don't work in cm7.2.2.1

hi am not able to install most of the angry birds games on my robyn.... it says device isn't compatible.... and help?
Did you try installing NORMAL or HD version? There are two versions of each angry birds game on the market, so dont use the HD one.
I tested these and no problem with them:
- Angry Birds
- Angry Birds Seasons
and on market is available Angry Birds Star Wars (the latest one) for my device...
RIO and SPACE didnt work for me (maybe I donwloaded the HD versions)

normal version.... the app installs and when i open the screen goes blank and comes back to desktop
make a nandroid backup i.e, reboot into recovery and backup all your settings. after you've done that, do a full wipe reset and wipe dalvik cache once again. try installing games now. if it still doesn't work , try installing a different custom ROM, preferably cm7-2.2.1 shakira
