[Q] motherboard replacement - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys.
My x10i has got a faulty motherboard and is now being repaired. The motherboard is being replaced with a new one. Now my question is that whether the handset will behave normally?
Is the in ear speaker will be also replacaed or not. Is it attached with the motherboard or not.
Wat are the precautions shd i take care of before taking the handset from the service centre?
Thanks guys.

Hey guys. I got my x10 back today. Its motherboard has been replaced.
Now the problem im facing is that the hardware buttons except the power button stop working after 3-4 mins.
They work alright after every restart for 3-4 mins. Pls tell me wats going on.
Im trying to re update the software but its not working.
Thanks guys.

Sounds to me you can go back to the repair centre...there is no setting in your phone which controls it after a clean flash, so something is wrongly programmed I assume...

Do you have a case on your phone? I bought a stupid cheap one, and couldn't for the life of me figure out why my bottom buttons weren't working....Did a factory reset and everything..Even though the case didn't cover the buttons, still messed them up
Took the cover off, no problems.

Why have you replaced your motherboard? What kind of problems did you had(i just want to know; maybe it can help me )

My htc break down and make a strange thing.

Hi guys, some months ago my htc is fall by my jeans and it break down. So i've buyed an lcd by brando hk (the same that sell screen protector) an lcd with digitalizer. Ok the pack arrive, i replace the lcd and is perfect. Work every etc. I had used for 1 day and some hours.. The next day i tidy up, start the htc and ok. I put in standby by pressing the button on the top.. After some minutes i re-press that button for use it because i've received a sms and don't work. So i reboot the phone, and nothing. It is only the lcd that don't work, because the feedback vibration work, if i call my phone ring and etc etc. But i don't see nothing. So very very angry i shutdown the htc. The next day again i try to use it and make the same play. So i contact the brando hk and ask to send me another lcd + digitalizer. They ship to me. Arrive, i replace it again. I use that for 30minutes and after make the same problem -.-" again, and again, and again. Guys please help me, i want re-use my fabolous phone
I don't think that is a software problem, because i've changed different rom and make a lot of full reset.

Whilst I do appreciate that you are experiencing a problem on your phone, and you would like some help from the good people on this forum, please follow the rues, and do not post the same threads on different sub-forums.
You have posted the exact same link on TOUCH HD ACCESSORIES and the TOUCH HD GENERAL.
As for your problem, the only thing I would suggest is that your LCD may be working fine, but your motherboard maybe faulty, causing the display to fail from time to time. How old is the phone?? If less than a year, just send it back to your supplier for a repair under warranty. (Obviously reflash the original stock ROM before you do!!).

[Q] Phone Screen Not Working

My X10 is having some issues with the screen and possibly the phone itself. I've already tried flashing a new firmware (2.3) and tried a different battery as well and still the problem persists.
The problem is that the screen would almost always die whenever I put the back cover on. The times it didn't, it would work for about an hour and after that, the screen would die once again. When this happens, the hard buttons along with the screen stop working and the only way to reset the phone is to take out the battery.
I tried using the phone without the back cover. It lasts longer, but the issue of the screen and hard buttons dying still occurs. The battery could have slipped out, but I've tested it by just leaving it in one spot and not touching it and the problem still occurs.
I am lost on what to do and if there are any questions, I will answer it asap. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
UPDATE: it seems to be a hardware problem. Whenever I tap the battery hard enough or shake the phone, the screen and hard keys die on me.
If anyone knows the cause of this or have any input, it will be much appreciated.
I'M not sure if the battery, the contacts or some other Parts Cause the Problem. Have you tried to fix the battery with some folded Paper or smth. so it can't move away?

Wished I read your post earlier today. The paper trick seems to be working right now, but since the phone is still under warranty, my cell phone company is sending me a new one.
Thanks for the help though.

[Q] Problem with ON/OFF key

Hey
After 2 years of using my HTC HD2 I have a problem with ON/OFF key.
It just stop working. I think it's not a key problem, because even if it's not responding if I'm pressing it it's sometimes turn my phone ON or OFF by itself.
I would live with that, letting him to just turn OFF after one minute not using it and turn it ON be pressing any other key but it also drains battery a lot.
Even if I'm not using it (during the night) the battery power in the morning is about 35% (after full charge in the evening).
I thought it might be some OS problem so I have done hard reset and went back to default OS.
This fixed the problem, but after 2 weeks it's back again.
Is there someone out there who had this problem?
Does anyone know any solution?
Thanks
farral
Ps. Sorry for my English as it's not my native language.

the same here. this is a hardware fault. i have luck. my hd2 is in warranty. hope yours too.
regards, interceptor
Yeah, it looks like a hardware problem but there is a strange thing. When I take the battery out for an hour or longer and then put it back in, everything works as normal for some time (an hour or so). Isn't it strange?
So now I'm thinking about two solutions.
Disassemble my HD2 and take a look at it from inside
or
just check and install Android on it (maybe its not a hardware issue)
Do you know where can I find assemble instruction for HD2?
I have unscrewed those 4 screws but don't know what next. Cant find any snaps.
I'm not worrying about disassemble it as I have done it with my previous HTC HD and it's very simple, until you know what to do.
Edit: I have found disassembling and assembling instruction video on YouTube.
I put here links to it if someone need it
Disassembling - http://youtu.be/cL-jnUKufC4
Assembling - http://youtu.be/t8Q7mXdcJ54
I think it's time to try to fix it.
Or maybe I should get an insurance first?

Screen failure

So... first of all.. i'm relocked, hboot 1.5xx, s-off, official ics
This morning I switched on my evo, looked at time and then suddenly screen came black..
Only sensor buttons worked
Then I tried to remove the battery and power on again
Display was OK but just for a few seconds.. then it began blinking or came black again.. I tried factory reset but no working..
Now screen isn't working, but i can hear HTC sound when i power it on.
Sensor button vibrating when i touch them..
Is it screen failure? Where can I buy new(original would be better) touchscreen?
Or I should try to post it to shop for repair (i think im not under warranty)?
thanks
If you plan on replacing the screen yourself, I'd open it up first and check all the ribbon cables and make sure they are secure. I've had something that simple happen on an HD2 repair. Was set to replace the whole screen and digitizer and the only thing wrong was the digitizers flex cable came loose.

I can blindly unlock my screen so i think digitizer is OK, isnt it?
All i just need is this or? http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-HTC...664?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336a5156f0
Yeah....but what I'm saying is check before buying it.
Because it could be as simple as the LCD screens flex cable coming loose from the motherboard of the phone. So all you'd have to do is plug it back in and apply some tape.

i dont have good screwdrivers at home :X
i also concider that i will try to send it back to shop for repair
If they wont repair it, is possible to pay HTC to repair it?
sry for my english .)
thx

[Q] fix hard brick

Is there a way similar to the method shown in this link, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916796 to fix a hard bricked sg2?

Hard bricked. The device didn't turn on after restoring ROM/ flashing new ROM from CWM (can't remember because it was a long time ago). The download mode/ recovery mode doesn't work.

Why get a new motherboard instead of JTAG
Because it's unlikely a JTAG would work. If the NAND is stuffed, it needs to be replaced. Samsung don't sell NAND's separately (or new motherboards without an authorised service centre performing the swap), so you replace the whole board; either a service centre putting a new board in, or you get a 2nd hand board from a broken/donor phone & you swap it yourself.

Can I use a i9100g motherboard instead of i9100?
No. Read up on the differences between the i9100 and i9100G. They have different processors for a start.

Hi guys,
I bought an i9100 with cracked screen, it would turn on and welcome sound could be heard but nothing would be displayed, not the boot logo. I replaced my motherboard with it. But now the problem is, LCD seems to be not working. When I turn on the device, welcome sound can be heard and I can unlock the phone but can't see anything. While the phone is still on and I lock&unlock my phone using power button, the screen kinda flashes white. Do you think the problem is with my LCD or motherboard itself?:crying: Screen was perfectly fine before I hard bricked my phone.
Thanks.
LCD is Damaged!!

Nah!!! :silly: this cant be a motherboard problem as you can hear the lock and unlock sound and the screen is flashing... this means that the motherboard is fine and working but looks like the LCD is not working.
oops!! This means the only solution to the problem is to change the LCD Screen as there is no other way to fix this!!
Sorry!!

Oh, I was thinking that maybe the part of the motherboard where we connect the LCD flex cable was damaged because my screen still kinda lights across the screen when I unlock it and my screen was fine before hardbrick/replacing mobo.
Go Ahead

Yeah I tried to fix this issue and ordered a new LCD but it also does not show anything on the screen so I guess mobo is the problem?
