After I rooted my vibrant successfully. I downloaded Rom Manager, flash the first Kernel in Free section. When if finished, reboot, and all i see is "GALAXY S GT-I9000" displayes forever. I tried to wipe data, then (press Vol +, vol -, power) to back up to my orginal software. But after reboot, it display that message again. It's stuck there forever. Please help!
thanks

Ok. Here is what you need to do
1a) Watch this tutorial at least twice.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810130
1b) Download all of the files from here. (drivers, PIT, TAR, ODIN3.exe)
http://androidspin.com/2010/08/09/how-to-restore-or-recover-your-samsung-vibrant/
Follow the above tutorial. If something seems unclear. I have PM-ed you my gtalk address/gmail . Just email me or add me to gtalk. Will reply asap.
P.s: some precautions that i take for no reason other than my sanity:
a) Put the odin.exe and the PIT and the TAR file in the same folder.
(i make copies of odin.exe ... dunno why .. )
b) Remove SD card and SIM card before doing so.
edit: Oh, forgot to add, I Odin-ed back to Stock JFD rom first. Then i waited 10 minutes. And then odined the second JL4 rom
It works now. Thank you all for your help! Especially, ozmulti for your detail instructions. Thank you!

I installed and used the FROYO ROM - VIBRANT JK2 , but it had some problems . After that I went to DOWNLOAD MODE and used ODIN to reflash the ROM 2.1 UVJFD STOCK ROM. Then my phone stopped working, when I turned on my phone, on the screen it appear some strange signals : a phone with (!) and a computer . I cannot go to RECOVERY MODE except DOWNLOAD MODE but ODIN doesn't work with the ROMs: 2.1 UVJDD, and 2.1 JE8 . Who can help me with my problems ? Plz help me! I'm so sad. My phone is bricked.
Thanks for your help.
great time to brush up on your reading skills. read the Vibrant Directory stickied above you. I'm sure it's fixable
Have you tried checking the VIBRANT DIRECTORY BIBLE which is stickied in this forum? That would be a good place to start rather than posting a non development question in the development forum.
There is a link titled *How to recover from a "soft brick" on your Vibrant and return to stock. (Phone ! PC error)...I would suggest checking it out.

Vibrant Directory Bible FTW...
wrong section of the forums.
and
did you get it figured out?
I found out how to do it in the Q&A section, I think. But anyways, I figured out that its pretty hard to brick a vibrant phone, but I wouldn't mess around with it.
Had this same prob, go into download mode (power on holding power and both vol buttons while powering on, after second flash of logo, let go power) Then download stock JFD rom for ODIN. (If odin doesnt see you phone, then unplug and replug while in download mode) Flash the JFD rom via ODIN and your back in biz.
He is obviously freaking out a bit, we have all been there, cut him some slack people jesus.
ITS THE WRONG FORUM is such an asshole move when people are freaking out.

All you need it do is open ODIN, get your phone in Download mode, Make sure you have the right files
PIT FILE-- s1_odin_20100512.pit
STOCK ZIP-- T959UVJFD
PDA FILE-- T959-PDA
and hit the START button
I bricked my phone up a few times and worked everytime.
Tried it on 2.2 & 2.1 update1 Both reflashed to Stock with no problem. Hope that helps.

I went with the eugene373 Vibrant Hybrid after using the ROM manager to extract it the phone froze on the boot up screen I can hear the boot up sound but stays on the screen the rest of the time. I followed all the info on the rooting process but I don't know if there's a way I can just got back or fix the ROM. Thanks in advance!

Please note "Q" means question not "DEV".
Instead of telling people "wrong thread" why not just help them. Go to the "Bible" in development thread download odin and stock jfd, once you downloaded those 2 run odin press PIT and click on the 512.pit file and for pda its the JFD you downloaded if you dont understand what im saying go look at threads of how to use odin back to stock its more detailed. Your phone itself has to be in download mode, easiest way since the 3 button dont work for some (like me) fully turn off your phone if it doesnt pull the battery out. Once its fully off press and hold the 2 volume keys and plug in the usb and your in the download screen and press Start for odin and your back at stock. (And now that I helped) next time post this into a Q&A or General thread so you dont get flamed. Good luck

Should be in Q & A section, but here you go:

Remember to post things like this in the Q&A Section.

This is the vibrant bible.
Down the latest version of odin, the samsung drivers, and a tarball of the stock JFD firmware.
To get into download mode:
Turn phone off.
Plus USB cable into computer but not phone.
Hold Vol Up and Vol Down.
While holding the volume buttons, plug the usb cable in the phone.
Follow the directions from the Odin thread from here.
Sounds like you're in the recovery menu. Do you have the update.zip of cwm? If so, then click reinstall packages from the recovery menu and you should boot to cwm. flash the same rom and see if that helps. You should be good, as long as the rom isn't corrupt. It worked for me.

Put BioHazard ICS on my SGS2...
Hated it, no wi-fi, no camera, wanna change back
How do I do this?!
I've formatted everything, data, sd card, caches, everything... now it's stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 screen with the pesky triangle symbol
Help me guys, what do I do to make it work again?
Thanks
Oli
If you can still get into download mode (volume down+home, then power) then simply flash a stock ROM with Odin via PDA, no repartition, no pit, and you are back in business.
I feel like I'm going to be sick... I can't have my phone being bricked...
Where do I get stock ROMs from man?
First advice: Relax. I know it may seem hard to do, but you are most likely just stuck. If you are able to power up, then you probably are fine. if you can get download mode, you are definitely fine.
Relax. Check the link in the Stock ROM thread by Intratech. Follow the directions EXACTLY as written (pictures included for clarity) and you'll be fine.
Most of us have had similar things happen. You'll learn. It's not that complicated, but just relax, go slow... read... and follow the instructions.
Here's the stock ROM thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
I'd suggest a more current stock ROM, such as KJ3 or KK5 for you.
I can turn it on, get it into recovery, and get it into download...
Thank you so much man, if this works for me, I'll PM you and ask for a paypal address or something for donation.
I just fired up Odin 1.85, PDA'd KI8, started, it said it passed, no more pesky triangle, but still stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S II screen?

Turn off your phone and take out the battery for few seconds then put it back and try turning on the phone. If still stuck on samsung screen, then try flashing another ROM. (KK5 for instance) Make sure you follow to the letter the instructions inside the link provided by donalgodon.
Good luck
If you get totally stuck PM me, I'm not far from you.

Guy...you're in the wrong area.
I have never put together an odin package before...so I am no help there. However, if you are unable to get into recovery because of your broken volume up button...why not try this...

I think it's been suggested to you before. This will get you into recovery...all you need is root.

Why don't you give this a shot....
If you are willing to unroot and root again, here's what I've been doing to return to stock.
1 - Put phone in "Download Mode" - phone connected to PC
2 - Start Samsung Kies (make sure you have the latest.....)
3 - From Kies, click on tools then "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization"
4 - You will be prompted to enter ESN and model number (it is ok to pull the battery out to get ESN and Model - phone won't die with battery pulled at that point)
5 - And follow the prompts
The process does take some time. I have successfully done this many times with success.
Try it out to see if that might help you.
Good Luck!
