3G Issue with Vibrant

I have T-Mobile version of this phone but I use it with Mobilicity.
Any time I go into a place that has no reception I obviously lose signal and both the bars and the 3G icon disappear.
However, when I leave that area and come back to the area where I had reception, the 3G icon never comes back. When I attempt to make a call I a get a message saying "not registered on network". If i go to wireless settings and try to manually search for a provider, the phone will only find Roaming.
The only thing that solves the problem is rebooting the phone.
I have Bionix 1.9 rom but this issue happened on stock as well. It also happens to another guy that has Vibrant9 rom.
On the other hand, other phones like the old samsung galaxy doesn't have that issue.
Any ideas. Am I missing some settings option?
Thanks...
I can only tell you I have exactly the same problem. Using it with Mobilicity.
Let's hope someone will come up with a fix.
A guess is that it has to do with the order in which it is searching to network operators after it loses signal. I am not sure how the phone is hard coded, but it is possible that upon reboot, it checks the SIM for which network to lock on to, but without a reboot it is looking for T-Mobile, because that is hard coded into the phone.
This is all a guess, but perhaps setting it to Manual network selection instead of automatic would help lock it on your network.
^yes, I think if you take it off the auto setting in your mobile network, that may solve the problem. Even though I'm with TMO we had a 3g outage and while it was on auto the same message came up for me, even after the outage was over. Set it to wcdma only, and I was able to make calls and get back on the network.
Setting it to Manual will just force us to do it manually every time it gets disconnected.
Not a solution, unfortunately.
Thanks guys,
Is there an application perhaps that will search for available networks and register on the network of your choosing once found?

Have you tried setting the mobile network to "WCDMA Only" ?
Mobilicity doesnt have a GSM network.

Mobile radio "out of service"

Note: Closed. Problem solved by flashing newer version of country radio.
Hey guys,
I am running PA 4.4Final with the stock kernel. The radio was working perfectly fine for 2 hours on roaming, but then randomly stopped working for the past 2 days. I am now back on my home city network and the issue remains.
The cell phone is receiving a healthy signal and even identifying available networks. But for some reason, any manually selected network isn't "available", and if I keep the setting to automatic selection, I get only emergency calls status. The service status is also "out of service" ?!
I'm attaching thumbnails for your benefit. WiFi and other wireless services are working fine. Is this a Samsung problem, or a software one?
Partial fix: I flashed the new Indian modem. Now I am getting signal and network. But I cannot hear anything on calls. =/

WiFi calling.

While in Mexico next month can I WiFi call to the US on my g3 ?
I have the HTC One (M8) and did my update (Which added the Wi-Fi calling app). I am currently in Mexico (Been here since Saturday) and I couldn't get the Wi-Fi calling to kick in while connected to a Wi-Fi. Everytime I tried to connect by enabling the Wi-Fi the location part of the Wi-Fi calling app would kick in and I would get a message something to the effect that wi-fi calling wouldn't work in my current location (Not exact words but that is what it would tell me). So I decided to turn off the locate me feature in the Wi-Fi calling app and enter my home address (from the US) and it said confirming address took a while and it seemed like nothing happened. A little while later all my text messages and my voicemail s started to show up on my phone and the Wi-Fi calling icon showed up on my status screen.
I'm going to be honest. I was also tinkering with the network connection settings and manually selected cdma/lte in the network mode and enabled Domestic voice and data. I just wanted to get some type of service (i didn't care if it was going to go into roaming because I needed to make calls back to the states). So I'm assuming I am using the Wi-Fi calling feature because I don't have the data portion on the phone turned on and I don't have international voice or data enabled. But I will find out on my bill next month.
If I'm really on Wi-Fi calling mode then the key (i think is to trick the location servive of the Wi-Fi calling app to think you in the US by typing in an address in the US and not letting the app locate you automatically to Mexico....
I was trying to upload screen shots from my phone but the web browser let's me. I will pots the images after the 19th..

I just returned from Mexico and had turned the wifi calling on my last day their. At first worked great made a few calls back and it worked crystal clear. Then it started to ask for location I tried everything even when it did accept a location over the border in the U.S.(I was in a border town) it stopped working. My friend who has the wifi calling from T-mobile had no problem. Hopefully Sprint (lol) will get a clue.

[Q] WiFi Calling causes FC

I've just done an RTN factory reset and cannot get wifi calling to work. If I try to enable it through the app, I get one of two things. The first if I try through settings or the wifi calling app is Connection error: Wi-Fi Calling cannot be configured because internet access has not been established. You may need to open your browser to sign into a Wi-Fi network. This shows up as a popup, and happens no matter which network I try (they all have Internet btw) The second option is a Settings FC when I try through the notification. Any ideas?
This was the first thing I've tried after the factory reset: no root or any custom apps.

I had an issue getting WiFi calling to work out of the box, here's how I fixed it.
- Forgot WiFi network I was trying to connect to
- Log onto my Sprint account and remove WiFi calling from my plan (click "Change my Services" from the drop down menu associated with the G3 then select the "remove" text next to VWDOM0 - Domestic Voice Over Wi-Fi Unlimited)
- Wait a few minutes and keep an eye on your phone; you'll receive a pop up saying "Changes Saved" or "Profile Updated". Something like that
- After I got the pop-up I entered ##SCRTN# in the dialer (phone will reboot and update profile)<----- (I have seen where ##UPDATE# works as well so maybe try both)
-Once my phone booted up and settled in I entered the WiFi Calling menu through the dialer app; I signed into my home network and went through the activation process to add WiFi calling to my phone
It worked for me after that. However it recently stopped working for me (last night) and all I had to do was enter ##UPDATE# to fix it

Tried it a few times. Guess I'll try calling and see if they can remove Wifi calling on their end to get it to work. I had a similar problem with GV in the past and they had to remove it on their end.
After calling and having Sprint remove wifi calling for me, it all seems to be working now after following @fergie716 's instructions.

phone is stuck on claro network (dominincan republic)

Standard htc one m9 with ATT. not rooted and up-to-date with android 5.1.
I went to domincan republic for 2 weeks and I purchased the att passport package. Once I was there, I searched for networks and used the Claro 4g network over there the whole time. Once I return to the US, the phone refuses to automatically connect to the ATT network and continues to search for the claro network.
What Ive done so far.
-muliple restarts
-remove sim
-When I go into network operators, both options "search networks" and "select automatically" are greyed out and I cant select them
-When the phone is restarted, the "network operators" screen pops up and lists ATT, sprint and verizon. But when I try select any of them, i get an error message saying "operation failed"
-ive reset the APN to default multiple times
Heres where it gets weird. I popped out the sim and put it into my htc one m7 and the phone works fine and connects to the att network. I can make calls and use the web. Once I place the sim back into the M9, it will connect to the att 4g network briefly. I can make a call to my voicemail very quickly once i gain service and it will work and I can browse the web during the call. Once the phone call hangs up, the connectivity bars slowly go down until i lose service and the a msg pops up saying "Claro Network unavailable". I can repeat this cycle over and over.
I tried placing the sim card back in and resetting the APN right away a bunch of times. This actually allowed me to stay connected to the ATT network for a few days. HOWEVER, I had to restart the phone and I was back to square one.
ATT was no help and they basically told me to hard reset the phone. WTF.
Any advice?
anyone?
