Flashing to Prime (based on 2.2.1) fixed everything for me.
Haven't changed cards since I didn't experience any problems even on v10b. I have been using Kingston Class 4 8Gb microsd
The latest firmware solves this issue. I've tried with both v10e and prime v2...

I'm sorry to inform you but 2.2.1 still has the problem.
It just seems to be not that frequent.
I use amberhome 1.1 with adata 8GB class 6 microsd and never seen sdcard umount

With V10b the sd card used to unmount almost every hour or so (and sometimes the phone rebooted too.
I used V10e for two days and I did not face the issue even once (how did i know. My music player always played the song I had paused without fail.)
And after that I have been using prime (V10n) and no issues at all. And Prime is super smooth
Best!
With Stock Samsung SD Card i was having about 2 Unounts everyday.
I bought a 4GB Kingston Class 4... Its been 48 hours without an Unmount. I hope it will continue that way
didnt experienced unmounts with 2gb stock for a day of use.
havent experience it on 4GB Kingston class 4. still using it today.

my newly bought 8gb class 4 sd card keeps un mounting so I wish to upgrade it to 16gb card.
so I want to know whether class 2 card will work properly or will I have to get class 6
Class 6 would be the better and costlier option obviously. I am using a class 4 16GB SanDisk card and havent faced any sd unmount issues till now. try using a different rom. i heard it mentioned somewhere that some rom's precipitate more sd unmount issues than others.
The class ratings for memory cards are like mpg ratings for cars. They are a measure of the card's read/write capabilities. The class rating doesn't tell you if you are driving a Mercedes or a Kia. Cheap cards with high class rating have high rates of failure and corruption. All classes of cards can work with your phone. Get a card with good reviews. Beyond a minimum class rating, you are wasting your money. My class 4 Kingston card has higher read/write speeds than my class 10 a-data.
I have san disk class4 8gb card and it keeps unmounting.
this cars is made in china.
I have another 4gb class 2 card of transcend and it does not unmount at all. this one is made in korea.
Transcend 8gb class 6 never unmounted once.

I am unable to find a class 6 card. all that is available is class 2 and class 4
I have a 8GB Class 4 card from Verbatim. It works flawlessly bro.
I have 8GB class 4 card and i had unmounts in stock 2.0 ROM and also in void rom. But now i am on Gyanogen 7 beta6 and no more Also A LOT faster.
Well I'm using 16g class6 from a small brand in Taiwan. But it works very well, with speed r11 w8.
I know it's not that fast, but very stable.
I guess unmounts depend on the ROM, whether you're using Apps2SD and the class. I had unmounts on void with Apps2SD. Quite stable with Cyanogen so far. Class 2.
Will upgrade it to a Sandisk 8gb class 4 soon. Sounds like a safe bet.
so you recon I upgrade my firmware to 2.2.2 from 2.2?
Target.... bestbuy... wally-world.... I got my sdcard from bestbuy just the cheepest 16g I could find... I have 3 partitions on it one being a 2gig ext4. Works flawlessly.

I try two Sandisk class-2 4GB and one Kingston class-4 8GB. All have problem daily. Eventually I settled on Transcend class-4 4GB. It not perfect (once a month maybe, I lost track), but doesn't both me anymore.
I thought there was a problem with class 4 cards, now I dont know which card works.

I don't think 2.2.2 solves the unmount problem. Try a cyanogen mod beta without apps2sd. beta 5 has been stable for me. I hope this will be fixed when the official gingerbread comes out. Create a nandroid and titanium backup just in case. the unmounts were the worst for me with stock lg.
I bought a Sandisk 4GB class 4 card and still had unmounts and freezes. Now my P500 is in repair service...
I had an A-Data 8GB Class 4 .. it was a disaster... multiple errors and reboots on installing program... very very slow. on all Froyo ROMs it was the same. but only on Cyanogen ROM it works without errors and reboots. also the boot process on Cyanogen beta5 takes about 3 minutes that i think it was because of that...
PS. I changed my Memory card today to a 8GB Patriot Class 4... I am testing it right now
PPS. Until now the new microSD works like a charm... no problem at all... it is so much faster and better than A-Data
doesn't divx videos stop working if you install custom rom? I use this phone only for four purposes,
reading books
internet
music
movies
I have a psp for games and another phone for phone and messaging etc
I dont have a computer though, so can't flash either.

I received my phone from LG repair service this week. They told me that they found nothing wrong, so they didn't do anything to the phone. Today my phone had again the "sd removed unexpectedly" message. It will probably have freezes again in a couple of weeks. These guys at LG service are useless. As my phone still has 10 months guarantee remaining, I will send my phone to repair service as many times as neccesary until they give me an acceptable answer or solution.
It's incredible LG doesn't have an official fix for this. Trying a different SD card is not a solution, since the SD provided should work, another SD is not guaranteed to work, and otherwise faultless SD cards are not working properly in this phone.
I got xperiax10 (big one) and xperia Arc. I planning to buy this memory card http://www.maplin.co.uk/16gb-micro-sdhc-memory-card-509493

Any idea suggestion will be deeply preciated

however, sdtool crash it on Achotjan 2.2.3 v 05. and did not play that film in it this soft.

Hi everyone,
i am very frustated about my external sdcard.
When mounting it via USB on my pc and copying mp3s or images to it i only get ~500 kbps, even an mp3 album takes several minutes to copy?
Any ideas what might cause this slow speed?

For starters what class is your SD card and which brand, an awful lot of higher class cheaper cards do not perform as stated. Especially ones from ebay.

What rom you got ? i had abnormal slow usb transfer on my Nexus one before , it was from nightly cyanogen mod , flashing different rom fixed it.
Oh and i don't have such problem on my SGS2 with samsung based roms. (did not try cyanogen )
Try reformatting the card in windows not on the phone
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
It depends on the card and how fragmented it is.
i will try formatting it under windows, thanks for the hint.
in fact i am currently on a CM7 nightly, but the problem was there even before i flashed CM7 (from litening rom which is samsung based).
there is only 2 gig of data on the card so far so i don't think there is big fragmentation on it already.
I have a 16gb class 10 bought from play.com and have never noticed the transfer speeds being particularly slow, however whenever i format my cards i use the Panasonic sd card formatter. A quick google should give you the software. I remember a lot of threads about the htc hero (my old phone) and the link between using the windows format tool and the write and or read speed being slow. You never know, It might be worth a try

I bought one for $69.99 and put it in my phone. Using SD Tool to check, the result is awesome: Reading speed=>9MB/s, Writting speed>20Mb/s. Transffering the Transformer movie from my old HD2 Sandisk 16Gb class 2 to the new PNY took less than 2 minutes for a 1.5Gb
But then all of my media player (stock HTC, Cloudskipper, Winamp Pro, Rock Player, QQ player ect... none can access those media files but Root explorer still can see them and able to played the file from within Root Explorer app
I put back my old HD2 Sandisk 16Gb class 2 back into the phone and everything fine and all the media player apps works flawlessly. This told me that the problem are not from my phone/apps but rather from NPY SDCard - somehow
BTW the card is pre-format with FAT32 - as same with my old one
Any one using PNY microSD card and facing the same problem? If so please replied so we can alert others

No I did not but every other function works well - I've been using the card for the whole 24hrs and media files played well until 24hrs later. Perhaps I should try to format it then. Will report back.
BTW: How do I format the card with the phone Binary? By using CWM?

I saw function like: Unmount SD Card, Erase SD Card, SD Card Encryption, Make more space and factory reset but none as format
I think by erase SD card it means the same thing all my other phones don't have erase it says format but there are also apps for SD cards on the market to help you get it done. I got a 32gb and I formatted with my comp it took a bit but everything works great.

Oh I though there must be a good reason to format the card using HTC built-in formatter - if any - otherwise I can always uses my PC and/or SDFormatter 2.0 to format it though
Yea me personally I always used my PC and all my SD cards work great I jealous of your speeds I can only manage 5 mbps write and 18-20 read, but then again i only paid 27 dollars for my 32

My PNY 32GB works fine, never had an issue with it, also bought it on sale for $39.99
Sorry for your troubles
I had bought a SDU32G10-EFS2 PNY 32GB class 10 sdcard and about two months later I began to lose my data. First thing I noticed was my clockwork backups were either losing my md5 files all together or the md5 checks wouldn't match up for my restores. Afterwards it began corrupting my data. I called PNY and got an RMA. They sent me a SDH32G10-EFS2 back. There may be a problem with the SDU32G10 models.

That's one of a hecking sweet deal
I did return the PNY and go to Fry's to check out their stuff yesterday, they had a Samsung 32Gb class 10 for $35.99. Grab it and test with SD Tool, the result is not quite as expected as writting speed never exceed 9Mb/s though. I guess I'll live with it until it ran out of capacity and perhaps by that time the Sandisk 64Gb price will drop a little bit.
My two years old Sandisk 16Gb class 2 that came with the HD2 still works flawlessly and I'm convinced now that nothing can bypass Sandisk when it come to quality. If someone happened to purchased the Sandisk SDXC 64Gb and used with out Amaze, please kindly report back

This is why I never buy any SD Card besides sandisk, Never, Ever, had a problem with them.
Just thought I'd report this as I've not come across any information on the subject.
This past week I replaced the stock 8GB (class 3 I think) SD Card that came preinstalled in my X2 with a 16GB class 10 SD Card. I have made no other changes or modifications. I'm running CM7 and had around 3GB's free on the 8GB Card.
I immediately noted that the couple of graphics intensive games i play (ShadowGun & Modern Combat 3) loaded nearly twice as fast and where the audio would skip at times before with a few lags here and there it doesn't now. Overall the game play is much smoother with no lags at all.
My benchmark scores in Quadrent have gone from averaging around 2850 to averaging around 3200. Smartbench 2012 has shown a consistent increase as well all but far less. Overall the phone seriously seems snapper, smoother.
And lastly i would like to say that the graphics appear to me to be rendering better particularly as regards curved lines...and yes I know this is a very unscientific observation on my part.
In closing i know most of us spend a great deal of time tweaking and testing different mods trying to squeeze even a few percentage points of extra performance out of our phones. Well here seems to be a way to get an extra 10-15% or so by simply upgrading the SD Card.
Oh...the card I got is made by Team Group, Inc purchased from Newegg for under 20 bucks, free shipping.

I upgraded to 32gb class10 myself. Was warned that it was not supported and would give me errors. So far the only problems I have had are.
1 when using with card reader make sure it is sdhc compatible our else it will corrupt card when it can't read it.
2 when I was on CM7 using USB it gave me some errors but not sure if that was the card or CM7.
So basically when I back it up I just shut my phone off and back it up using a sdhc compatible reader.

The original SD card was class 4. Just so you know.
I too noticed a major speedup when replacing the stock 8GB Class 4 card with a 32GB Class 10 Card from Lexar. I have had no issues with the card at all except that CM7 seemed to swap the cards but did not setup the sdcard-ext properly. I have run no benchmarks but in day to day use it was an improvement. Then installing CM7 made it even better.

I've always understood the x2 can support a 32GB SD card. I went with a 16GB purely for financial reasons. I put the information up regarding the performance increase of my phone simply because in all my searching the Android forums for tips to get the most out of my x2, upgrading the SD card was never mentioned. I really am blown away at the effect simply upgrading the SD card has had.

I have heard it's not the 32GB it's the class 10 that's not supported. I have not had any issues myself either except when hooking to PC but one was my USB card reader was not sdhc compatible, the other was CM7 using USB cable to transfer but have had problems with stock card also so think it's more of CM7 thing their. As far as only using it for phone have had no issues.
