Every few minutes when i'm using the phone the screen will lock up. The screen will either go back being responsive in about 30 seconds but it is a big irritation. I bought this phone secondhand completely stock and it exhibits this problem. Has anyone encountered this problem before and if you have how did you fix it?

That its a clear indication the phone was dropped in some sort of liquid by the previous owner. There should be a small sticker inside - white means everything is ok and pink means it was dropped in liquid. Looks like someone was trying to hide something by removing it.
Well that sucks. Anything that I can do to fix the phone that does not involve the original owner?

I've heard you can get a replacement from samsung but I'm afraid I don't gave any helpful details that would help. You could try calling tmobile and asking to speak to a customer loyalty rep. Not sure if it will help but is worth a shot.

Every time I buy screen protectors I buy a couple of them because I know the first one will never come out perfect. Btw if you are interested in screen protectors, they are super cheap on ebay. But then again so is anything small like that. Ebays your best friend if you have patience.

My previous evo3d had the exact same issue. It wasn't consistent but sometimes just turning the screen on I could see the unlock ring going nuts. So would the keyboard or if I opened up dialer it would call one of my listed contacts. I would battery pull to make it stop.
I took it to the sprint store and they replaced it and acknowledged it was defective. It happened on any ROM.

for those of you who ended up taking it into a sprint store. how did this exactly work? how long have you had your phone? did you need to have insurance on the phone? did they charge you the deductable?
did you put stock rom back on it before bringing it in?
i've been looking around for answers and it seems that most ppl find that it's a hardware issue.
thx!
hello.
I've got serious problems. Today I get in the car and watched the latest messages on my phone. then suddenly the screen began flickering and everything was getting over bright. So I thougt that a reboot would help. totally wrong, Tried to reboot but the samsung boot screen turn purple with blueish tinted letters. Then my heart goes crazy because I tought I bought a phone with a decent quality. And now the screen is just past away!! Why Samsung, Why?? Tried to boot several times. Phone starts up so I made a backup from the SD card but there's no working screen. I feel horrible now. because now i have to wait untill it's monday so i can call Samsung for an RMA and then just wait a couple of weeks. 2 weeks without my S3. This is just like rehab in a nightmare...
Does somebody here have experience with a faulty screen?
p.s.
Phone never dropped on ground, never. Always have TPU case with touchscreen-protector
Lightning is not covered under warranty .

that lightning strike was just for fun. It wasn't hit by lightning. No i don't have insurance on my phone. This is a fault of Samsung?? not mine? How can i destroy my display driver myselve? that's impossible.
Funny joke... very descriptive. The only reason I read it was to see how u managed to get ur phone struck by lightning and still managed to post about it...

will it be covered under warranty? On a dutch forum I read several cases with broken screen. most of them in a couple of weeks after the release.
If this will be every 5 months I want my freaking money back because I don't gonna sent my phone 4 times in 2 years. and after that I have to gonna pay myselve for the repair. That's rediculous. Even the S2 would last longer. This is such a shame for samsung. Monday I will call customer service and then I will explain the whole story and then they have to repair it as soon as it gets.
I have the flickering screen problem as well. It happens when the screen turn off (time-outed and manually) and turn on again. Anyone has the same problem? I wonder if it is a hardware or software problem?

that's not the flickering i mean. But I know your problem. It's software related. It get's dimmed when you push the home button right after time-out.

If you screen or display is not working its warranty . If your screen is broken or cracked its not warranty .
If you have custom rom or root or rom counter above zero warranty is void .

Not dimmed actually, The screen is like the magnetic field noise when we put our dialing cellphone near to CRT monitor last time. Sorry for my bad english.
they can't even see the binary counter because of the screen that's broken .
But I think I did reset my binary counter already 2 months ago. after that I only did flashes with CWM. Not Odin.
p.s. Does it count flashes with CWM? I think it only counts when you load via odin.

No I'm serious.. How can they watch binary counts when display is not working anymore?? Simple right?? Here in the Netherlands there are several cases with people that have rooted S3's with broken screen. They all get a new phone. If they could see the binary counter. They wouldn't send out new phones right??
A defective unit , after reading countless posts about defective units i am doubting about samsung's quality ....

Hello, same problem here but only when auto brightness and power saving mode (any combination of options checked) are on, which I just recently noticed since on dark background you wouldn't see it. Software bug?
Hey could someone help me diagnose whats going on with my Galaxy Tab 10.1?
I haven't used it in a few days. I knew it was dead. So I went to charge it. It turned on
and the screen is showing crazy ****ed up lines and flickering. I cannot get to recovery or download mode.
My wife says its this "Carbon Rom" that I installed. I say bull****. If it was, I would be able to at least see recovery mode.
To me it seems the video card or screen, whatever produced the picture got screwed up. Please take a look at the pic and let me know what you think. Can this be fixed? Whats the cost? Is this something I can fix or do I need to go to a repair shop?
Is there a warranty on these things? Its a year old. If I send it to Samsung, will they be able to tell a custom rom was flashed which will void the warranty? Im guessing so... Someone please help im sad
The picture is attached.
Thanks for any help. Appreciated

Its been sitting for 5 minutes now and I went to turn on and it shows a White screen now.
This seems like definite damage. The only things I could think it would be is last Saturday I was sitting by the pool reading
and I cover it back up with my flip case, had it sitting on the chair while I was swimming. It was fine after that though.
Last time I used it, it was Tuesday and it was fine. The only other thing is if my daughter got a hold of it... But there's no way to tell
either way if these were the cause. Any thoughts?
I remember someone posting a topic with the same issue like a yezr zgo or so, i can't find this topic anymore, the problem was with the screen or the cable of your screen, i think he had to replace his LCD screen

Seems in my opinion that you have a screen fault. Maybe it was caused by you without your knowledge or it is a manufacturing defect. It us really hard to say but a screen replacement should fix the problem.

Thank you for your reply.
So you think its the screen, same here. But im doing some you tubing and see that the screen is pretty much just a piece of clear cover that
goes over the lcd screen. I will need a new lcd screen, correct? Is it worth taking apart and checking the cables?
Theres no cracks or damage to the physical screen so it has to be internal.
If anyone can find a link, please let me know. Thanks for your help!
What do you think it would cost to fix at a repair shop? and / or samsung vs. joe blows repair shop?

I've got yellow spot on screen of my Honor 9. I guess it is problem about glue under the screen. It isn't a problem for me to send it back on warranty, however i am thinking about what they replace.
Right now i have unlocked bootloader and it is important thing to me. So if they would replace only screen it is okey, but if they would replace whole phone, i won't unlock my BL again :crying:
Does anyone know about it? And do they have Honor 9 on stock at all to replace mine?

sounds like a screen bleed i had it but disappeared after the oreo update so it could be something else
you'd likely be charged for the new screen
I also had multiple yellow/orange spots on the top left corner of the screen. I tried placing my phone for 30 minutes in the refrigerator and the spots disappeared but later appeared again. It looked like the phone was burning from inside because turning off the phone/screen won't make these marks disappear not even the OLED fixer apps.
I called the hotline and they told me that they are going to replace it free of cost as my phone is under warranty. I just sent my phone to Huawei 3 days ago. The process would take 2,3 weeks. I am hoping this problem gets fixed or they just send me Honor10 instead of my Honor9

So I was using my V60 and the dual screen was on, then all of a sudden the dual screen turned yellowish and there was a horizontal lines on the screen. I turned my phone off and even removed my phone but the dual screen was still yellowish and w horizontal line. Then about 20 mins later the dual screen went back to it's normal display. The yellowish and horizontal line was gone. Has anyone experience this? I'm kinda worried that it might happen again.

Sadly replacement won't help. I had mine replaced twice, both phone and dual screen, in the first week over this issue. 2nd and 3rd ones did it too. It's software or a widespread defect. Now when it happens I just reboot and that fixes it for a day or two until it happens again.

Replacement fixed it for me. That post was 4 months old and it's never happened again since that time
It was glitching in mine too, I put some alcohol based hand sanitizer on the connector and wiped it with cotton buds, did the power saving exclusion as instructed.
Now it has been good since...
I have had the same problem quite a few times... I'll try that linked reddit post
Im having the same problem with mine as well. I've had the phone for several months but this problem just started about 3 weeks ago. I've been communicating with LG and will be getting a new dual screen case.
Mine turned green instead of yellow. I sent the screen part back to lg and they replaced it. So far so good.
