searched for a replacement voice for text to speech and found svox, but also heard that acapela should be coming to droids soon. Anyone know of anything better than svox, or should I just wait for acapela?

I want to know in you guys opinion what is the best tts available for the evo 3d really all i want is for the phone to say i have a missed call and to be able to customize the voice to a sexy chicks voice.
Any Ideas or if anyone is currently doing this please help me out as i've tried and failed epicly everytime.
Is there a comparison somewhere, or someone knowledgeable on the subject that can help me out. Is there a reason to pick one over the other? This stems from when I use speaktoit assistant it prompts me to know whether I want to use Pico or Samsung. Thanks!
Just try them out and pick the one you like.
You can always change this in setting-->voice input and output
Personally I prefer Pico than Samsung, sounds a bit more natural.
You can also buy Loquendo TTS from the Market, which is much better than these two.

I am using @squadzone's CM9 for Galaxy Mini Beta 3 on my Galaxy Mini. However I dont find the mic button in the standard Android keyboard(dat came default with the OS) for voice to text. Any ideas how to bring it back? I really liked the voice to text demo and how ICS handles it. I write a lot and voice to text would really help. Anyone knows anything? thanks in advance.
Hi,
i am trying to find voice dialer that would suport BT headset. So basically i say a name dialer dials
Anyone has anygood app for this?
Thx upfront.:victory:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyberon.cvsd&hl=sl
Not ok.
And no Google voice not ok for me since not English so i need to custom load in all voice tags first.
so....
Hi jprednik
So...you got any breakthrough?
I am interested in the same. Though currently swipes and speed dial on ExDialer app works quite quick...voice dialer has its own charm and functionality (Though it has to be good with recognition & quick ...else it kinda defeats the purpose)
It's sad that this thread hasn't received any reply.
What's the newest version of Google Search for ICS?
That's because I found GEL working for ICS, but when i launch it i get this :"PLACEHOLDER TEXT: Google Search not found."

I am frustrated with the lack of anything like this for ICS. I am in the same boat as you. I can't believe that Google Now is completely broken for ICS. Likewise, if you are on ICS, YOU CANNOT EVEN FIND VLINGO ON THE MARKET.
I seriously believe that Google paid Vlingo off to not make it available for ICS because we literally have no choice but to buy a Jelly Bean phone in order to have a decent voice search or voice activated app. (Because nothing comes close to Google Now or Vlingo in voice capability)
If you read the forums about ICS, you will see nothing but post after post of how ICS basically has broken voice activated and voice search mechanics. Google bent over backwards to put Google Now on Iphone, but refuses to support Google Now for ICS.
If anyone thinks it's a coincidence that Vlingo is off of the Android market for ICS and that Google Now was broken, then you are naive.
Google sold us out to get us to buy Jelly Bean phones.
I'm officially done buying Android phones after my current one dies in the future. I've never heard of such poor support for the second newest OS before. It's like ICS does not exist to Google.
Can you imagine how many thousands of people would download Vlingo from the market if they are stuck on ICS since we don't have Google Now?
(please let me know if I'm correct as I wonder if it's just HTC ICS that can't see Vlingo on market?
