OK, so after having to hard reset and flash my Odex UVJL4 Rom again. since OCLF is now gone. I want to try the Voodoo Lag Fix instead. been reading it uses EXT4 instead of EXT2. which seems better! OK, so any flashable Voodoo Lag Fix that will work with my Rom without any issues? Would like to use Rom Manager if possible! I found stock+Voodoo-Froyo-T959-UVJL4-unsigned-update file in one of the other post but is that one for my Rom? says something about not for e2 or e3 recovery.
just making sure! Thanks a million!
This one is the one I'm talking about! will this work with my Rom! Thanks!

Yes flash thru rom manager. After you flash it will take several minutes to convert to ext4. A robotic female voice will keep you updated. Don’t do anything to your phone during this time.

Any issues with the voodoo lag fix?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
None at all. Its not as scary as you would think. Its really easy to disable with supercurios kernel.

Ok so sorry about asking so many questions. So where do I start? Already got Rom Manager installed. What do I do now? I'm using just odex uvjl4 rooted stock Rom. Downloaded the voodoo uvjl4 flashable Rom. What do i do with the Rom now? Thanks a million!

Its cool. I just hope I can help out. Put the kernel on your internal sd card and flash thru rom manager. That's it. It will take some time to convert to ext4 so be patient.

You don't have to do anything with your rom. Your only replacing your kernel.

Ok I heard the ladies voice. But how do I know if the voodoo lag fix is installed? And how do I turn it off if I want too. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If you heard the voice then it installed. You can always run a quadrant score to make sure. If its around 1400+ then its installed. Around 1000 and its not. To disable go to recovery by 3 button combo. Volume rockers plus power. That will take you to a red clockwork menu. You will see voodoo as an option go into it to disable or to re-apply.

Don't use rom manager to get to recovery. It wont take you to the red recovery.

Coolio! So it converted the file system to ext.4 same as the nexus s uses? Awesome!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes it do. I've flashed boot animations and black froyo without disabling voodoo and haven't had any issues. But make sure you disable when necessary.

Hello community,
I just installed an instance of a deodexed KA7 stock rooted rom that does not have a custom shutdown menu. Can some one point me in the right direction for one compatible with such rom? It must have the reboot and download options.
Thanks

most custom roms have one
Thanks birgertime. I actually should have made myself more clear. All I want is the custom shutdown apk. Not the entire rom, I'm actually happywith the stock KA7 for now.

Creating a custom shut down menu requires modifying the framework of a ROM and cannot be in the form of an APK.
You could try a program called QuickBoot. You can find it on the market I believe

Look at the Vibrant Bible Thread. Scroll down to kernels and download the kernel of your choice.

Assuming you already have root just download the rom and place on the sdcard in NO folder then from clockwork app reboot into recovery and make sure to disable lagfix first if present then goto choose zip from sdcard and fine your rom then flash.

Dear XDA World,
I have just recently rooted my phone using the superoneclick root on my 2.2 Froyo Vibrant after a good month of research. Currently, I am running Eugene's R2 Final Gingerbread ROM, and I love it; it is very stable and intricately in tune with the Vibrant's functionality. Now, my problem currently is flashing to a voodoo lag fix (frustrating as hell). Anyway, I have tried the JL4 voodoo. zip, because that is what this ROM is closest to, I believe. When I copied to SD card, and went into clockwork recovery to install, it failed, saying, "installation failed," or something similar to that. I thought that voodoo wasn't working for some reason, so I tried to flash Nero v3's ROM: same outcome. If anyone would take time to help out a new user, I would very much appreciate the help. I wish to put voodoo lag fix on this R2 ROM, to be clear. Please be descriptive.

It might be the verification signature.
Go to clockwork recovery then go to install .zip and the toggle verification. Try now.

I love r2. I don't see the need for voodoo.

Stock 2.2 Long story short, I rooted my Vibrant. Says it rooted, everything's fine. BUT
Busybox says it's not rooted, superuser is there.
Everything acts like it's rooted otherwise except ROM Manger doesn't ask for permission but won't boot into recovery.
Tried custom 3e recovery installer. When I try to reinstall packages it never goes into CWM recovery.
WTF?!?!
I don't think you can root 2.2. I have always found the best way is to Odin back to 2.1 and then use super one click root. Then install your customs roms or whatever from there.

Somebody better tell my phone that lol. I had 2.2 rooted previously
got it. disregard

How did you get it to work? I am having the same problems as you described.
run superoneclick and reboot phone afterwards. You must reboot for it to work.
First off I know this info is elsewhere but I just need a little clarification because other threads seem outdated or incomplete.
So I have my gf's verizon fascinate rooted and what I want to know is after I use Odin with the CWM 3.xxx w/Voodoo file,
I need to install a voodoo kernel? And if I don't want to use Voodoo, I need to create a Disable-lagfix text file? And in another thread, I saw something about Voodoo-compatible modems, is the stock ota modem which was updated recently ok?
I really appreciate any clarification, I've used Odin on my friends captivate but only had to use an update.zip for CWM and I've rooted all 4 androids I've owned.
