Ordered Dec 23rd: Merimobiles
Still nothing, customer service says if I don't see it by this weekend they will send me a new one. Plus it just so happens I sent in that rebate for the free dock and paid the investment of $10.50 to the U.S.Merchants. I have yet to see either one. Anyone in the same boat still? When all is said and done I might have 2 docks. Unless we have another snow storm.

I plan on turning this whole situation into a game, which ever one gets here first will be showered with gifts and pampered. The latter with have to endure the heart ache and smells of being the charger for in the kids bathroom or a ice scraper, snow shovel ect.
Why can't they get more of this stuff in the US? They should be all over EBay by now!
Try checking your tracking number against whatever your mail provider is (mine showed up on CanadaPost).
If it still doesn't turn up I would raise an issue with paypal/your credit card company. Merimobiles has lied to me about shipping details, there's no reason for them to have your money.
I have ordered two items from china in January. One cleared Shenzen on 1/15 and I got it on 2/6. The other cleared on 1/23 and I got it on 2/8
It seems things have really slowed down from there on china post airmail
Merimobiles is a terrible vendor. They are doing the same bs to me (even after completely admitting that the shipping problem is thier mistake). They are a bad company that doesn't take care of its customers. I highly suggest that everybody avoids doing business with them.

I order on the 12/26 and have the exact same as the above, with the exact reply from merimobiles about shipping another if I don't get it by this weekend. Unless they overnight it why would I expect that a second one would make it to me.

I ordered my Dock 12/30/2010, received a "Your Order Has Shipped" email on 1/19/2011. Got my Tracking Number and this is what was reported:
Destination - United States of America
The item (RB176555762HK) is being processed for departure from Hong Kong as of 22-Jan-2011.
It looks as though it is still being processed! I sent an email to [email protected] so they could explain the status delay. No response 2nd request was sent today.

FWIW - I ordered a Leather Case w/ USB keyboard & Mini Bluetooth QWERTY keyboard w/ touchpad and laser pointer from Ankaka.com January 6, 2011.

So, my Ankaka items are officially in the mail and should arrive San Jose, CA any day. My merimobiles.com Docking station is still in Hong Kong being processed for departure.
It seems that merimobiles choose the cheapest delivery option each time they ship something. Like they try to accumulate packages to make one huge shipment to US for less money.
If you go to the USPS web site and under tracking teb enter the track number, you can see progress once they receive it.
Damn... did you all forget it's a slow boat to/from China?
My dock took almost 30 days to arrive from Merimobiles. It was a race between the doc and usb keyboard case I ordered. The doc won by 3 days.
I decided to e-mail them being as nice as I possibly can here is the reply e-mail:

sorry for the matter.

please ask your local post of it.
if you dont get it next weekend. we will ship another one to you again. ok?

I got a few emails from Janey too. I already did my venting on another thread, but this company is horrible. I think that their support people are all the same person. Always say sir. Always is all lower case. Always bad grammar and you are lucky if the sentence make any sense. The last response I got six days ago said that they would check on my order, but crickets since then.
Then I call up US Merchants to see why I still haven't received my rebate dock from 11/26 purchase and they say that they are having trouble getting the docks from Viewsonic and it will be at least another couple weeks before they get them.
I am livid.

During those months there has been many delays in the regular mail. We can assure you we ship them promptly. The situation is now alot better and most packages are arriving promptly in the advertised time and the regular time that it should take by regular mail. We do care alot about our customers. We do have a policy when it takes over 1 month we reship or refund. Many people have received there docking stations already. Shipping times are back to normal, and contrary to what 1 member claimed we don't chose the cheapest way possible to ship, its a regular mail shipping item like any other item, and every year during the holiday time there is always delays in the mail. Thank you for your reply. I didn't start this post to defile Merimobiles. That was not my intention. I was stating I had both Merimobiles and U.S.Merchants both sending me docks since Dec. of 2010 and have not seen either one and was wondering if others had received theirs yet. You do however get a +1 for lurking the XDA forums. Janey has been nice answering my questions and she did state that if I didn't get it by this weekend that I could have you guys refund or resend it to me. So I'll correspond with her later this afternoon if I haven't seen it.
One plus on still not receiving a dock from merimobiles, where my order was placed on 12/26. I read the statement above with respect to bad weather. Didn't we hear a similar story from another supplier of cases? Basically I don't accept the weather argument....
Any advice on how to proceed with a refund request?

Hi guys, I though it would be a good idea to start a threat just for everyone who placed an order through Play.com UK and paid full price.
We can use this thread to keep everyone updated on the progress of their ordered, and any updates etc; whether they are able to get it at the discounted price, full refund, partial refund etc.
I ordered a 16GB this morning at 8:30am, and order was confimed at 2:44pm and sent to packing for delivery.
Price - £349
ordered at about 5am this morning
order confirmed at 05:57
packed at about 4pm this afternoon
16GB @ £349
Mailed them asking to cancel and advised I will source elsewhere for a much cheaper price... (I imagine its too late though)
Looks like Play.com are out of stock now. I can't find the HP touchpad 16/32gb anywhere on their site. It was there a few hours ago.
I'm also waiting on a Touchpad from play.com which I bought at full price earlier today.
My gut instinct having dealt with Play earlier on similiar issues is that we'll all be returning our TP's for a full refund
Still I'm going to remain optimistic..

I'd recommend not cancelling your order just yet.
you'll be in a better position to negotiate with them once you have the product.
If you cancel before they despatch it, they won't lose anything, they'll just send it to someone else who was able to place an order.
Once you've got it, hopefully we'll be in a better position a few days after all this commotion, and they may be willing to refund the difference.
otherwise they have to go through the hassle or receiving product back, and then arranging to sell it on - probably at the reduced price.
I'm going to wait to see if mine actually comes through, then assess the situation then.
If they don't openly offer the refund, I'll put a complaint to them, and to the FSA.
their returns policy gives you 7 days to request the return or raise an issue - this is different to 7 days to actually return the item to them.
The complaint etc could last as long as you want, as long as you raise the issue within 7 days.
we should have a strong argument if we refer them to the fact they were aware on Monday that the supplier had significantly reduced the price, and that a large number of supplier not just in UK, but all across the world had reduced their prices to fall in line, and they are being unfair against the consumer by acting this way.
We could also quote things we can get - regarding their comments on Monday evening that they were aware of the price discount and were working on it, yet they chose to do nothing.
Ordered as mine was in my cart, however at time of checkout it stated not in stock.

There may be hope for us yet.
In the US - HP have agreed to refund customers the difference of all ordered purchased within 60 days of the price change.
HP are also 'leaning' on companies to offer the price match themselves.
So if Play.com don't crumble under the pressure over the next few days - maybe there is hope from HP directly.

HP apparantly informed retailers on Monday that the prices will be reduced, and requested that all retailers offer to refund the difference in the sale price.
HP also advise that it can take a few days for all retailers to act on this.
called play.com in the end and they said it was too late to stop dispatch anyway (wanted to save myself a couple of £ in postage to be honest) - they have sent me my return code and marked it as potential return
so i still have to wait for it anyway...
but the chap I spoke to I did would they not do a price comparison, or are they even considering lowering the price but he said nope. Full refund or keep at full price basically.
@danlat1415 - do you have any of that information or anyway to process that with HP as I'll consider keeping it if thats the case! I wonder if we can ping an e-mail to HP pronto to try and get some clarification from them that we can apply for refunds if the retailer won't honour it...
If I was HP and I'd told everyone to cut the price on Monday, and found out retailers were basically ignoring them (probably to pocket the profits) I'd be a bit peeved -
out of this experience, I'll definitely not be considering Play.com for anything further apart from as a last resort...

I'm looking into what HP are doing for UK customers and I'll keep you updated.
It's still very early, and once order are sent out and customers start complaining in large numbers - they may change their mind.
Also depends on what action HP take over the next few days.
Play.com don't want to get bad publicity, and if all other retailers are honouring the price change, it'll be bad for Play.com to try and profit from the limited stock they have - compare to the bad publicity they'll get.
I've been hunting around the net, and this isn't the only forum complaining about Play.com's decision, so strength in numbers...
I guess the only real outside chance of getting a partial refund is if every customer who bought a TP from them returns it this week. Hopefully the logistical nightmare/expense of checking every return will push Play into offering the refunds.
As I said earlier I doubt it happens though, Play are a horrible company to do business with, I haven't used them for years and if it wasn't for this deal I wouldn't have touched them with a foot long stylus.

I got the impression of a very non-caring company when I called them up - to be honest, I had a good impression of them before - but only used them a handful of times... I guess its because I never had to _deal_ with them properly before and just did an order which came and had no issues...

i also wonder though is it worth putting in a 'request to return' with play for everyone's who order has dispatched ? its too late to cancel, but if they have a _lot_ of requests to return and the main reason being the stupid prices... ?
Don't suppose there is a HP email addy to send concerns to? Wonder if they can confirm or deny possible refunds...

As far as I know, Argos and Play.com were the only two retailers that hadn't yet offered the lower price (whether it be for a limited time, like Amazon)
But Argos has this morning now caved in and reduced their prices to £89 and £115.
This will hopefully help in the fight against Play.com
they are now the only hightreet retailer trying to greatly profit from this sale.
I'm waiting for an update from HP and I'll let you know. Waiting to hear back from their press office.
So far they have only confirmed that they'll refund direct customers, and credit the retailers.
Just waiting to find out if their credit customers of retailers who are refusing to refund the difference.
(if the retailer are being credited by HP, then they are severely taking advantage of the customer.)
As more developments happen each day, hopefully by the time the Touchpads arrive it'll all either be sorted or a lot clearer.

I just logged into my Play account and my order is now showing as cancelled with today's date beside it.
Card payment had gone through so I wonder what they're playing at
I'd suggest that we go protest outside Play HQ but I don't fancy going to jail for a touchpad (maybe an ipad....)

Thank for the update.
I too have got an email this morning confirming my order has been despatched via DHL and I've got a tracking number.
expect it to take upto 5 working days to be delivered, then I have 7 days for receipt to inform them if I wish to return for full refund.
That's approx 8-13 days to get this resolved and to put pressure on Play.com
Its been like 3 months i ask for a refund omate says next month every email i received imagine 3 MONTHS that nearly 1000 us dollars where is my refund be ashame of yourself .do you have money left from your travel what is your next excuse . Happy for you bro , i ordered mine last october too but i cancelled it at late december they told me ill get my refund, every month past they will say next month then they send me to contact [email protected] then after a month cecile told me to contact [email protected] and TODAY after a month waiting for my refund [email protected] told me to contact [email protected] so what will happend next. laurent keep putting advertisement on google plus, nearly everyday and answering others question and post but when he see any post of refung he just try to ignore it

After no response for nearly two months...I finally got this:

Because they're dedicating all their staff to handling kickstarter issues first, and then they will go through preorders.
Right now Rocki has all the preorder money and will not release it until preorder units are shipped/ready for refund.

I'm in your same situation, after six months of waiting for my TS I decided to give up and I asked a refund. They ignore me at all, months without an answer and after all they say to me to wait "end of all shippings", is a big lie, why can't we do something to have our money back now? I'm tired of lies and nonsense words we have to do something.

I've got mine. Was posted on the 12th April received it on the 25th. I'm a UK backer. Received in great condition packed very well. Only gripe was I was expecting an additional cradle as I pledged for an extra one but didn't get it.

Received mine last week (EU 2100 1/8GB first Batch), so i am thinking if Omate keep their promise to ship the second EU 2100 batch then you will soon received it. (It took about 2 weeks or more once received tracking).
Delivery in UK by Royal mail. Swiss Post database tracking update seems a bit late, so use THIS site to track your item (better than Swiss Post site tracking).

One question--did you receive any communication prior to your watch arriving at your door??
I have heard zero--since filling out the delivery details.
Possibly my mistake was that, although a UK resident--I spend more time out of the country and I used my Asian address--this could be one reason for a delay in the dispatch.
Hence, I was interested in whether Omate contacted you before sending the Truesmart.

In fact--does anyone have a communication email address for Omate [ I know they probably won't answer--but I would like to check that my delivery hasn't hit a glitch--possibly my stupid decision to use my Asian Address--in which case I would happily give them a UK alternative]

I have no idea what I have got, How to turn it on even, at the moment it's a cool looking piece of inert metal and plastic.
Feel very ripped off as I pledged for the developer edition for Europe months ago and nowhere does it acknowledge this or even how to turn it on etc.
Sucks big time.
Wanted this as I am partially sighted seems I've now got to ask family to search the web for docs and how-tos etc.
Really sucks.

Count two weeks from the 24th so most likely 10th May around that time.
Omate keeps saying that they shipped all the Kickstarter USA editions already. But I have not gotten my Kickstarter Standard Nov watch yet, and they don't respond to emails nor give tracking numbers anymore, so I have no idea if it was shipped and got lost or if it's not yet shipped, nor do I have any way of finding this out.
Does anyone else stlll NOT have their Kickstarter Standard (Nov) USA edition watch yet? Does anyone know how the heck to actually have Omate respond to watch shipment inquiries?

My 1/8/1900 Nov Dev edition ordered on the very last day of the kickstarter campaign arrived in early February. I may have been the first in the USA to get mine and the last to support thru KS. Odd. I had to sign for it, I got an email with a tracking number that worked, and the order was filled correctly !
Yours may have been overlooked and never shipped. If it was an early KS Dev edition with a numbered backplate, it is likely still on its way - a lot of people in the USA are just receiving those now and many are not getting tracking number emails due to, um, logistics issues...

UGH! Then how will I ever get this watch? It's crazy really. It's like they stole my money for no product.
Well, they were getting tons of emails on all their exposed addresses mainly from folks upset about the shipping delays, over and over. So, instead of silently ignoring most of these, Omate just announced up front that they couldn't answer them all, at least at this point, and that they were not going to try. I look at that as more realistic and more near honest, though not encouraging.
I hope yours is delivered soon. It isn't much like what I backed, really, but it is a lot of fun and amazes people when I show it to them.

I hear you, but it's one thing to email about shipping delays. It's another when they say they shipped all Nov standard edition USA watches and I didn't get mine, so it obviously either got lost or they mistaken did NOT ship. In either case, I'll NEVER get it and have no way to communicate to them and they have my money with no way of getting it back (or the watch). I'm sorry, but this situation is ridiculous!! I could wait longer if I knew I was actually ever going to get it.
So back to the original question - is there anyone else who didn't get it yet from the Kickstarter Nov standard USA edition?
My TS was in transit for almost three weeks. You also need to keep in mind that the USPS is garbage and has been for some time now. They have let go almost 100,000 people over the past year or two, are billions of dollars in debt/defaults, closed multiple sorting centers and smaller post offices and are using sub-contractors in a number of places as well. Not to mention the increased reports of bogus "attempted delivery" attempts, not getting signatures and simply leaving packages where ever they feel like when they do deliver. So Omate may be to blame for some stuff but they are not the only ones.

Irrespective of the quality of the USPS, it's RIDICULOUS that Omate does not send out even any notification of when it was shipped just so I know that it was shipped. Right now, I have NO IDEA if my $200+ watch & accessories were lost in the mail somewhere or someone stole it off my front porch or if they lost my order with no intention of ever sending it. OMATE NEEDS TO GIVE ME THIS INFORMATION - no one else can. Sorry - but until they do it is THEIR fault entirely. I have no way of knowing. And since I cannot find a single Nov USA standard addition backer who has NOT received it yet, I have to think this has gotten either physically lost in transit or they lost my order info.
I have NO IDEA how to find this out. I'm not sure why people here are defending Omate for this ridiculous and completely unacceptable lack of communication. I can wait if it's still coming - I just need to know what happened to mine if everyone else got theirs.
Have you tried emailing them a civil request for tracking info carefully explaining your situation? Maybe even have the subject read "Order possibility lost during shipping, need info". And just some friendly advice, being a jerk will get you no where with them and probably get your email ignored.

He's likely referring to me, Lokifish. I told him about Omate's recent announcement that they were overwhelmed with emails from upset backers and would go officially into Ignore Them mode.
I was glad Omate at least admitted this publicly instead of continuing to conceal it, but it sure freezes out people like Tones2 who have a real and serious need to get in touch with Omate over delivery issues.
Now we are finding that the last batch of numbered Dev editions had at least a few shipped with the cheaper lower ram and storage early EU versions. I bet these are ones that were left over after Omate tried to sell them into various distributors for resell.
If they distribute the next update with the security still totally fckd, that would be approaching a total shut out game.

Well, this is just recently acquired attitude. I was not one of those people blasting Omate for not meeting their initial delivery dates and was (and still am) perfectly willing to wait over 6 months for this watch. I totally understand the delays, personnel issues of a small start up, and initial buginess of the product. However, after they publically announce that they have shipped all of the USA watches, and then publically announce that they are not going to send out any shipping info nor respond to any emails whatsoever, and after I sent them 3 or 4 very polite emails inquiring what happen to MY watch if they shipped all USA kickstarter models (with a subject similar to what you suggested) all with zero response from them, then yes I start to get REALLY PISSED OFF. I think this is justified.
Do I have any recourse with reporting this situation to Kickstarter? At this point, I don't know where to turn. I've been trying to avoid using their facebook site for this inquiry, but maybe public shame will wake them up, although that doesn't seen to have worked to date..
For what it's worth, though it's not a US shipment, it's not far off... I'm (still) waiting on any sign whatsoever that my 1/8 1900 standard edition is making its way to me up here in Montreal. No shipping notification, and if there's no attempted delivery notification when I get home from work today, I'm sending a polite email which, when all is said and done, will come down to "Could you provide me with some proof that the watch is, indeed, on its way to me?". Because good faith is one thing, but being completely forgotten is another.

As much to my surprise as anyone's, Magan got back to me and (despite apparently not entirely understanding my question, as I was told it was "too late to change my delivery address"), I got given a tracking number! Small victory, at least.
Interestingly, it shows my watch as having shipped on the 28th, not on the 18th as the update would have had you believe, and the last update shows it leaving Switzerland on the 4th. Where it is now, I have no clue, but it's apparently in transit to me (in Canada). Will update when and if I get further news.

I was afraid to back the kickstarter because you can truly end up with nothing for your money. When all the watches started arriving for people I went on ebay and bought one. People are selling the watches at a discount because it doesn't work properly right out of the box. I got my watch early last week and only paid a few days before I got it
I am also in Canada. From the time my ts left China to the time it arrived at my door I could not track it. Tracking always said left China. Then one day it just arrived at my door.

I didn't get an email today either but I went into Best Buy this afternoon anyways. I just handed the guy my pre-order paperwork and said "I'm here to pick up and activate my Verizon G3". The guy said "oh I think they're still in the back, they just came off the truck". Sure enough, he came back with it and I'm typing this on it now. I'm not sure if they weren't sopposed to give it to me or not but I figured I'd give it a shot. I still haven't gotten the email from Best Buy either. You might get lucky if you go in and just act like you got the email. Good luck!

The Best Buy stores in my area received them today (the 17th). We received the AT&T and Sprint ones a little ahead of the release but the Verizon ones we recieved day of. Give it a day or so and they will have them if they don't already. I don't know how the email system works, but it might indeed be worth it to walk in and ask.
Seems like the bigger city stores got them but not the smaller cities. I called my local store, Ames, IA and they said Des moines had some but theirs were still on order.

Interesting. It doesn't look like everyone has received these emails. When did you place your order? Mine was first thing in the morning on 7/11 and AFAIK they didn't have the pre-order available on 7/10 like VZW, so I'm fairly confident I'm one of the first folks that pre-ordered. A rep I spoke with did confirm that they're going to ship in the order in which the orders were placed, so maybe there's some sort of issue where they realized they don't have enough stock to cover all pre-orders and are send emails to folks who ordered after some cutoff time? Another possible thought might be that if you pre-ordered and had one of the expedited shipping options (i.e. your expected delivery was yesterday or today) and they knew they weren't going to meet the estimated time they sent the email?
All speculation of course hinging on my hope that I might see a new phone in the next 4 weeks.

I think they are all screwed up over there. Has anyone tried to order and have the phone shipped to home? I keep getting that the shipping option is not available on the Verizon model. I went into the store yesterday and ask about Shipping and they said that this phone would have to be activated in the store.
Getting absolutely nowhere with BB support. Judging by the twitter conversation I had with them, it doesn't look like they've started shipping any devices at all, with no estimate on when they'll start.
Since we're all on here twiddling our thumbs until they give us something to chew on, anyone care to share when they pre-ordered and whether they've received a delay email?

You may want to check with your local Best Buy because I just checked a little bit ago on the website and it shows that my small local Best Buy has them now. It showed that they weren't available this morning.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at Best Buy for thinking that's correct and laughing at that employee for having to make that phone call. They are just asking for it.
I just went into my local best buy and they didn't even know they had them in the storage shelves right behind them. I had to tell the guy the phone came out yesterday and then he checked for it. I didn't get to use the $50 upgrade promotion but they did let me use the $50 towards accessories like a screen protector, case, and audio aux cable. Loving the phone so far.
Had a pre order with Amazon.got an email this morning saying delay this delay that sorry wah wah. Cancelled order went on best buy website. Paid for replacement device(full price) got my your pickup is ready email. Typing from my amazing g3. Best buy chick was on top of it. Even have ne me the option for her to activate it or me at home. I said. Me (duh). Popped SIM in as soon as I was in the car. The rest is history. I did pay more at best buy but I call it a(I want my device now) fee.

Amazon, UDP, $400 Activation Fee
Wonder if you go with Amazon and perform sim swap trick to maintain UDP, would you be hit with the $400 fee for not activating it Amazon's way? Given the delays with BB, I'm almost tempted to take a shot with Amazon but wouldn't necessarily want to get hit with an extra $400 for not following their directions. Any experiences buying phones off Amazon but maintaining UDP with sim trick?
Went to best buy and upgraded with Verizon edge and they gave me a 100$ gift card. They had a 24 inch 1080p TV for 120. So I got the TV for 30$ put the door ..glad I upgraded
