just tried it
that whole concept sony was working on - tapping and sliding up the finger to zoom into a pic is already enabled on this app
thumbnails load so much faster than mediascaped..and once cache is made..its fastt
thumbnails are also big..and scrolling is so smooth.
swiping to change pics is so much more responsive.
finally i can delete the mediascape from the home screen..and enjoy taking pics on my phone.
I feel you must miss something....
have you tried those custom rom around?
actually our 2.1 came with stock gallery but sony just hid, which still far better than just pic.
search market for enable gallery, it's small tool to unhide it.
The stock gallery is good, although I think JP is a good bit better... You can do full res zoom, which is great to check if your pics came out good when you take them
Main problems with JP are:
1. Too frequent updates.
2. Full res zoom does not work any more...
However, given the frequency of updates, I'm sure they'll fix that soon enough...
I love justpics

Are You sure? I've been using JP for a month now, and it seems to be the problem with phone. Sometimes zooming works, sometimes not. But in most cases, reboot helps -.-

How is frequent updates a problem? It's not like we have to re-enter settings after updates.

I have to re-do all my ignored folders, so yeah, it's a pain...
Agreed, frequent updates shows a developer who cares, but too frequent shows a sloppy developer (IMO)...
Also uses up precious data.
nonetheless, JP still rocks.

once you ignored the folders, JP will keep it ignored!
you can just upgrade a newer version over the older ones...
it forgets only if you clear your cache or change the cache settings!
Thanks for using JP!
If you wanted to help in the development of JP you can join as a beta tester or follow this thread!
Nice app, but the map view is way off course!

I'm the developer of JP. Thanks for the good comments
The fact that settings such as authentication, passwords and excluded folders are lost after clearing the cache is actually a bug... Just fixed it now, and it will be in next release.
It is true that I make frequent updates to the app, but I believe I always add a little something in it to make it worse upgrading. I also try to fix bugs that are discovered... I strongly feel like the overall quality of JP has improved a lot overtime, in the way that I introduce less bugs when I release. This is due to the comments and feedback I receive on the beta channel !
Developing such an application is a real commitment for a single developer. Every feature that is added is hours of work, and hours of sleep time gone away Beta tester can verify I work on it a lot on week ends

My favorite picture viewer is Android Comic Viewer (ACV) - Best part is it works with zip file so you can zip hundreds of pics into a single zip file and viewed with ACV. easily zoom in / out, bookmark of last view pic, very fast etc ... no thumbnail though
If you have thousands of pics, it's a pain to wait for gallery to create the thumbnails.

You need to put your ringtones on SDcard (/sdcard/ringtones), because I deleted them from system, for clean up, and make it faster, if you want default android ringtones say me, and I will give it to you.

nice work i will test it tomorow
im giving it a go, been using owain's and slade's roms (and the other dev's work) for a while now. Apologies for not posting feedback, I end up browsing these forums late at night on a school night hunting for updates aha, and i'm too tired to test after installing until the next day.
Anyway, I notice there's the MIUI camera still in there next to the SE camera app. This can be removed by deleting the camera.apk in /system/app/.. which im sure you know as you've done all the rest ^^ just pointing out incase you didn't notice.
Something i've noticed recently though with roms is that although they're listed as practically stable/fast. Quite a lot of the time i get freezes/crash and then reboot. ¬¬ THOUGH, that's probably because i haven't cleanly installed these roms in a while (just been installing custom zip.. rather than the whole procedure of restore with sepc, rooting, getting xrecovery etc.
Thanks though, it's certainly more feels a bit quicker and it's serving as my replacement for now

Well, that's not a MIUI camera, it's android stock, that actually it's pretty good , but guys, we have 2 cameras and 2 galleries, what do you suggest, let it with 2 cameras and galleries, or deleting SE one, that cant record video?
Thanks for your opinion, and btw if you're facing crashes & reboots, put processor frequency, on 600 mhz.
Actually one excellent feature of miui is the player that can show lyrics. not that bad after all!
XDA ♥
Yeah, everything have nice things, but I just cant live with all that apps, 5 for music, 5 for gallery , So i choose what i think is better, and i think HC music player, it's kinda better on interface
Next release won't have album or camera by SE, only Android default
Ohhh, sorry my bad.
Edit: ahh not used to this app, sorry.
Video recording works fine for me in the se camera app :/. Personally, I'm not a fan of clutter, so I've removed the android camera app etc. Which I don't use with root explorer. It's not hard to do for people with root explorer, so there's probably not too much need to re-cook? the rom with a couple of apps less. I do love the music player . As for crash and reboots, i tried 600mhz, but then it gets quite laggy in animations etc. and still crashes.

This is a minor release that bundles fixes that were previously a separate download and a few other things:
Fix kernel crash that happened most frequently with Titanium Backup but also many other apps(fix found by verygreen)
Touchscreen fixes by Dees_Troy(helps with rapid distinct touches being interporated as a single motion)
Fix graphics corruption that was happening in some games
CMStats added
Change needed for fsck replacement(was in alpha0 but wanted to make it explicit here until it is merged)
Other general changes that were merged since alpha0

Don't wipe your user data and all your settings will stay. I did however wiped the cache and Dalvik.
I had some widgets that lost link and I had to replace them but overall settings and apps will stay. You need to flash the gapps since some of the apps were gone when I flashed. Use the Gapps V10 that is floating around.

I installed via CWM and so far so good.
The only thing I noticed is that I had to still replace the SU app with the one that was patched to fix the crashes.
Ah, the joys of upgrading... unfortunately this upgrade has made the wonderful Autodesk Sketchbook app worse
Much more difficult to draw smooth brushstrokes now.Assuming it has something to do with the touchscreen fix?
---------- Post added at 11:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:25 AM ----------
In my case there also seems to be a higher frequency of "double taps", ie. that some keypresses are registered twice during rapid typing.
Is there a thread with what is "Working" vs "Not Working" ?
Have a TP but don't want to switch till there is a stable enough release. I know know you are all going to say, then wait for it to come out of Alpha. I only want to keep track of what is going on, kinda hard to deduce things by just reading random people experiences.

In my case, a good couple of times, instead of scrolling, the input is registered as simple touch. It is very annoying when you are in a list and just want to scroll... instead it enters one of the elements from that list. Very very annoying. Am I the only one to notice this? Because the touch input was working very well before the 'fix' in A0.5...
I have also noticed a lot more sensitivity when scrolling -a lot more unwanted clicking on stuff. Still, for an alpha this is excellent.

That's not the point. The point is that in Alpha0 the touch input was perfect. Now it isn't.
Yes I have also noticed that. For example, when using Google Books, flicking a page usually flicks three or four at a time. It is WAY too sensitive now when in Alpha 0 it was perfect.

u mad, bro?
Hello,
I've been on stock kernel/OS since I bought my unbranded I9100 some time ago, that means Gingerbread 2.3.4, I9100XXKI1, Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKI4-CL575468 (rooted, of course).
I'm thinking about trying CM9 or CM10, just for fun. I think I know pretty well what to expect, but am trying to figure out if there are things I will be missing. As far as I can tell, the following will change significantly:
- Touchwiz launcher replaced, of course. No biggie.
- Swype will be gone, right? I played around with CM way back, and there seemed to be some discussions about how to take Swype with you, but I assume this will be rather hard when going from Gingerbread to JB? Or is there a good way to keep it (without buying it separately)? I like it rather a lot...
- The four hubs (Social Hub etc.) will be gone. Good riddance, as well, I've never used any of them.
- I've not used any of the Samsung remote features (to locate a stolen/lost device; OTA, or KIES), so I guess they will be gone, but I won't miss them.
Is there anything else I've missed that's been added by Samsung? I want to avoid a problem where I don't actually notice anything important missing at first, and then noticing weeks later...
Thank you for your time!
I noticed my camera was missing on one of them.

You could use titanium backup to backup all of your (system) apps. If something (important) turns out to be missing, you can restore it easily. Apart from that, flash it, you won't be disappointed. Good luck with exploring all the possibilities.

Apps only in touchwiz wont work in aosp roms since they are deeply integrated within the touchwiz framework, so no use backup app system apps nor system data. Restoring system data may cause problems ranging from bootloops to force closes.

Alright, the clock. I use that a lot, all of it (alarm + timer + stopwatch). That would be a bummer to loose, I guess there will be some useful replacements on the market though.
There are plenty of camera apps around. Can I safely assume that the picture quality (as it is) will be the same as with the stock camera app? I use the camera for taking pictures, I need no effects, online stuff etc. around photos. In fact I am not that happy with the stock camera, as I find it tough to shoot a photo when I don't see the screen... so I'll be happy to hunt for a camera app that supports some of the hardware buttons for shooting.

Well yes, but I'll have to register/pay for it, or don't I?
Is there a way to see which app is Samsung specific, on the phone itself? Or is basically *any* app that shipped with it either in gapps or by Samsung/Touchwiz?
Thanks a lot, again.

I'm looking for an app that deletes sms message after a set period of time. I used to used SMS Cleaner Pro however it no longer works since I'm now running a JB ROM. Does anyone know of an app that will do this simple automated task as I'm yet to find one that works?
Ideally i want a minimalist app with the sole purpose to delete any sms older than a week to keep my inbox tidy, cheers.

Delete sent/received
Truncate to set size of messages

Sorry I got busy that day and forgot. Didn't remember until now. If you want to test what I have now, download this. It doesn't actually delete anything, it creates a log of what it did. View the log, which is minimalistic, and tap each one to see its full message detail. I did it this way because I want to give the users the ability to test and make sure its working correctly for them first. Plus, without actually deleting the messages, the process is super fast. The actual delete process does take some time. Which brings me to my next topic...
Before releasing a version that is fully functional, ill have to reconfigure some code. As of right now, everything is done in the screen. If you turn off the screen, or it times out, during its deleting process then it will be paused until the screen comes back on. And no one wants to have to leave their screen on while it does this, as the processes can take up to a few hours depending on how many your deleting. So its a change I must make.
Also, the autorun function hasn't been implemented yet. Good new is if your a user of my Bing app, then you know I already know how to do this. So it can and will be added!
I am still new to writing android apps, so I try my best to learn new things daily by bringing new features and fixes to to my current apps. So all suggestions and ideas for new features, or apps, are always welcome.

May I suggest an app that works with Tasker? Then it can easily be scheduled
It could be, but I haven't attempted to make anything to work for tasker yet. When this is complete, you would want to use the autorun feature included anyways. As it will have multiple options such as running daily, weekly, auto trim, and others, all with the option of choosing all, or specific, contacts.

Sounds pretty good. But autorun would require a service running. So that's where it's handy for guys like me already having Tasker running.
Hi to all
Myself and others including @alldroid are trying to help @ThemerSupport in way of giving as much info as possible regarding any crashes or bugs.
So to any one that has issues to try to help further and gather more info can you please tell us a couple of things.
1. Which device you have and which OS
2. Any mods you have ie change in dpi and so on
3. When you have the issue what happens and when does it happen (is there any pattern to this issue or is it random)
And remember the more info and feedback we give the better themer will become so come on themer has put in so much hard work for us with this app let's try to help them with as much info as we can.
Thanks for any info given and thanks to all the themer users for continuing to support themer and a very big thanks to the @ThemerSupport team
All the best

No problems just doing what I can to better a very good app. OK it has some bugs and crashes from time to time but its still in beta. And the more info you get from users about bugs and crashes on different devices the better chance you have of fixing and removing the bugs and crashes there for moving the app forward and out of beta.
Which in the long run will be benefit the users of themer.
I see so many post all over xda where a user will post
"it don't work"
and to be honest that is no help to any one.
And as there will always be times where the crash repot box will not show. So the next best thing is to make a simple post giving as much info about the bug or crash there for making it easier to solve.
I hope this topic will be used as I hope.
As with out full support from user themer
Will be trying to fix bugs and crash's alone which will be hard. And to me the best info (feedback) you can get will be from the people that use Themer Beta
All the best

Yeah no matter how small you think the problem is please let us know, the more taking part in this the better for users and themer
@ThemerSupport @alldroid
So I update to the latest version of themer and after 5 min's here is some screen shots of what happened.
1. I tried to switch to another theme and it hung for about 50 seconds saying loading then loaded with no widgets just the wallpaper and a error message saying re doing widget host all widgets lost.
2. So I changer back go my g+ theme and it loaded straight away.
3. So then I tried to export the theme as a new one (same theme I just changed the name an themer crashed)
I will stay on the latest version for a couple more days to see if I get any other bugs or crashes.
Any thing I find I will snap a screen shot and upload with info of what happened.
All the best

that's exactly it mate, forgot to take bloody screenshots though. After rebooting phone weather is now fine.
I thought this was always the proper way to report bugs! =P
I guess most of the users aren't used to that though.
Cheers on educating the masses! =D

Yes this is the proper way to report a bug but time after time I'm reading posts like
"It don't work" or "it crashes a lot" not just here in the themer section but all over xda. And to be honest post like
"it don't work" are no help where if a user was to post a simple post like
IE:
After the update I'm now finding that after I export a theme for a 3rd time themer crashes and I have to reboot
I have a Motorola RAZR I (xt890)
Running stock 4.1.2 with no mods and not rooted
As this is much more help as now the themer team will know what crashed and what a user was doing when the crash happened which is a very big help as there are many thing in a app they could cause a crash.
And 1 big problem with development is a dev can spend a long time to fix a bug which in turn might cause conflict somewhere else causing something else to crash so its not always as simple as I'll change (example) a . to a - by doing this it might conflict to something elsewhere resulting in further bugs and crashes.
So if a link can be made in a crash IE ever time I do a 3rd export themer crashes. So now the themer team know there is some sort of conflict going on there.
So all I'm trying to do is get as many users as possible to post full info about there bug/crash to try and build a bigger picture and hopefully make some links as to what causes what.

We do get a couple of reports like this, but as you said we need a lot more in order to pin-point the root of the problem.
A new update is coming soon that should hopefully fix these issues.

---------- Post added at 10:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:11 PM ----------

Even if you go into your Themer Settings - Email account - and change it from there?
yeah I get the you are not logged in message, but can acess mail in usual way
now another issue, working on a style and it doesn't save changes. If you look at the attached screenshots you will see what I mean.In edit mode it is how it should be,but as soon as I save you can see the difference,it's as if it doesn't remember the changes made.
reboot doesn't clear it,have rolled back to 1.17 and it stays the same

@alldroid
Hi bro I have found if you just install 1.17 over the top of v1.19 the bugs get worse so I unstalled altogether than just installed v1.17 as a new install and that fixed all for me

yep just don't understand it spent bloody hours on this on too !!! it gets weirder too seems this only affects the one style,no matter how many times I change the wallpaper, only thing that makes any kind of sense is that the themer widget is corrupt although no indication like it usually does if the widget gets corrupt

That is strange.
Just a stab in the dark but did you start the theme on the newer version of themer then go back to v1.17 ?
Only reason I ask is the newest version will have all the stuff from past builds but v.1.17 will not have the things from v1.19 and if they have made changes to the everything widget in the newer version it might be conflicting with the everything widget in v1.17
