[Q] Reverting to stock before OTA - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I apologize for the dumb question, but I've been so caught up in flashing all of the new leaks/roms that I've forgotten which version I should be on in order to receive the OTA. For some reason I was thinking JI6, but can't remember for sure.
Any help is appreciated... thanks!

I know how to flash... just couldn't remember if it was JI6. I'll assume that was the last OTA from TMo.

Yes JI6 was the last offical ota.

I'm running stock j16 with some metamorphed icons, should I do a factory reset before the ota?

Anything with a stock rom should be good. I just got a replacement phone completely stock, so I'll probably just move my sim over today so I don't have to lose my current setup.

As long as you have JI6 and Twiz running (won't work with a home replacement like LauncherPro), you'll receive the OTA with no problems. I received the last OTA while rooted with bloat removed.

Upgrade seems to come over Kies
So TMoNews has this information. http://yfrog.com/f/gy2nwxlj/ Seems like the upgrade is going to be coming over Kies.

Will it keep all my apps after update?
Can I receive ota update without a data plan?

[Q] 4/21 An official Fascinate 2.2 update ota?

Hi yall, so I just found out that verizon is pushing out an official froyo build ota on the 21st, tomorrow. But the thing is, My phone is already running under DL30 rom rooted and prefering not to install the new update. Not that I don't want to experience a new froyo, it's just because I'm too lazy to go back all the way to 2.1 then de-root the phone........ ehhhhhh........ Now my question is, is there a way for me to disable the automatic update? p.s.Last time when verizon pushed out an update ota, my phone would just constantly turn on and off) Thank you guys!
If you're on DL30 I doubt you'd be able to receive the ota even if you wanted to.
And, in the future, please post your questions in the Q&A section.

are there any differences between the "official" froyo and the froyo we have all been using previously (I do know it has been mes source..just wondering if its worth moving to the official upgrade).
Thanks.
Adryn has posted a debinged version of the new ed01 official release in the dev section.

Meh, from what I have tested for adryn and others the mes source stuff handles the same, at least kernel wise. The rom ec01 leak seemed to run pretty well, I'm fixing to flash ED01 and try it

Thanks for the info. I'm at a point where "if it 'ain't broke, don't fix it" so I might pass on this update.

[Q] [Help] Replacement phone Excitment Can't Get OTA Update

So I've been having problems with my phone, got a warranty replacement phone delivered yesterday. Got so excited that I forgot that I would need to do an OTA update on the old phone to get it back to stock, so maybe they wouldn't notice it had been rooted. Can they tell if had been rooted, even if its taken back to the original state? I can't seem to find Unaltered Froyo Odin tar files anywhere. I really don't know what to do anymore, I feel like I've searched everywhere.
just odin DL09 or DI01 and ota update from there... might take a little time but it'll be legit
That was the original plan, I guess my day was kind of chaotic. In the midst of things I already activated the new phone... So it won't let the old one get the ota. I think I really screwed up

[Q] verizon ota

Just got an ota yesterday on my verizon lte galaxy 10.1 tab. Anyone get the same and know what was in it? It was not ICS despite my hopes, dreams, and prayers.
IPv6 and some MLB.com stuff nothing special..
droid life has an article. /2012/06/29/verizons-galaxy-tab-10-1-lte-has-an-update-on-the-way-build-fe01-addresses-minor-bug-fixes/
Questions go in the Q&A section
Just tried to apply the OTA over existing rooted stock (with pershoot's kernel) and as expected the update failed. I have a fresh NAND backup saved for good measure but I'm not in the mood to do all of the work right now to go back to bone stock just for this incremental update. I guess i will have to put up with the update nag screen every time i wake the tab up until it drives me crazy enough to do the update lol.

This worked for my Charge, so it might work for the tab...change the EL01 (or whatever build it was) entries in build.prop to FE01. There were 2 lines where this was done, but I don't have them on hand ATM. Hope that points you in the right direction.

[Q] How to block OTA?

Hello,
Will installing FOTAKill app work on Note? Does anyone know? Anyone tried it?
Looking to go back to gingerbread from ICS, and stay on it without being notified.
No, this isnt the thread about how much better is ICS.
Just go back to GB and ignore the text telling you ics is available. The update isn't ota, so there most likely won't be recurring reminders to update.

Whats the current software/ android version for stock htc thunderbolt on verizon?

I got my replacement Thudnerbolt last week cause im still in warenty with verizon.
The other one was dropping signal or hardly ever connecting to 4g in the middle of a full 4g bar area. Screen unresponsive at times and when i make calls half the time i have to hang up and redial cause the other party cant hear me like if im on mute. .
Pretty much the same story with the old thunderbolt and i know its not physical damage cause ive kept my phones in otter boxes since day one and never dropped them.
So i flashed a near stock buil of a rom but its a little older i think and have played with various roms and settings ect trying to correct it andd its defenatly the phone. As usual. Im about to call into verizon again but to be sure im hoping someone can tell me the current build software version ect info from the about phone section under settings incase they ask. I have that deodexed rooted 400mb(ish) standard rom from somewhere on it now so its as close to normal as i want it at the moment..
But if someone can help me out id appreciate it i dont want to have to unroot and use the htc AIO tool to put it completly to stock (yet)
And no im not tryin to get a rezound or whatever i happend to love my thunderbolt and the big screen I just want this one fixed or a halfway decent one that works as it should.
Thanks for your time!

I cannot figure how to update to this version of Android. I would eventually like to have root access, but am still at the part where it won't update from 2.2.1 to 2.3.4. I guess I need some advice with how to go about updating to be on GB.

2.2.x is Froyo
2.3.x is Gingerbread
Froyo was the Thunderbolt's launch OS.

Settings, software update, check new.
If there is no update available, you're on the most recent software update.
