I am trying to update my wifes phone the legit way and Kies Mini keeps force closing on me. Has anyone else hd the same issue around here I saw another thread but didn't see help there.
My phone is rooted and is running bionix v. so I am very aware of the benefits, but she doesn't want that. any ideas on how to fix this?
at what point does it close? what os? 32 or 64bit?
try running it as admin
try running it in compatibility mode
Yeah, give us some info on your OS.
If it's Vista/7, try running as administrator.
Thanks. I am win7 64 bit. I will give admin a try and see if that works.

Ok, tries admin... nothing, compatability... nothing. It doeant force close until I plug my phone into the usb port and hit the lies button. Really frustrating.

Uninstall it and re-download it. Kies, I mean.
Edit; Wait, you do have the phone in Kies (Firmware Update) mode, right?
Settings -> Applications -> USB settings.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. And yes the phone is kies mode.

Hm, strange.. maybe you can try on another lappy?
That's the next step. Either that or Ill talk her into rooting and loading bionix v

Ok guys im no noob but I did get spoiled with the one click lag fix. And one click root. I had my phone all flashed out and running super smooth and super fast, and then it was stolen last week. I just got my new one and was sad to see that the rooting option was removed.from the app. I tried a method I foumd in the forums but I couldnt get it to root. Kept getting an error when I hit "reinstall packages". So any help or useful tips would be much much appreciated! I gotta get rooted again, im having flashing withdrawls!

Did you try re-downloading the one click root file?? May have a corrupted file and usually you can redownload and it should work fine.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
yes.i have downloaded it 3 times, I am just missing something stupid, I know it. But im going to try it again. It can't be this hard
If you go to unlockr.com (oneclick rooting android) they have a nice rooting video on how to do it. Oneclick has a later version 1.5.5 depending on what you are running you may need later version. The video is step by step
Yeah google made them remove the root option

If your on eclair, not sure why you would be having an issue... Did you read the noob guide?
Thought I'd take stab at it....USB debugging enabled?

Thanks everyone, I still haven't figured it out but I appreciate the help.

... And to goodvibrant. Should it be on or off?

You'll want to enable usb debugging when using the one click root app.
Before connecting the phone to the pc enable it in the menu. From home hit menu button> settings> applications> development and check usb debugging.

I have googled the hell out of this and I cannot find a solution, but if you think you have one feel free to post it.
Was on Bionix v, disabled voodoo
Flashed a theme
Now the phone becomes completely frozen at the lockscreen, cannot get past
Did a nandroid backup but I still cannot get past the lockscreen, becomes frozen
Able to get into download mode but Odin does not recognize my phone at all, have tried multiple usb ports
I think Samantha.... is dead.

Hi there I'm running Bionix with all the updates and just recently began receiving periodic SyncML DM failure notifications. I haven't changed any setting and haven't downloaded any apps. I am just wondering if anybody else has experienced this, what it means, will it iron itself out, just in general what's the skinny. Thanks in advance I appreciate it.
Update: not sure what caused it but two reboots solved it so far. I'm still not sure what would cause it and will try to reproduce it. If anybody gas any info I would appreciate it.

Me too. I have tried to reboot but no luck. If you figure something out let me know? It is really annoying........

same here it started last night after watching youtube and leaving it on pause
I've had the dm icon pop up every now and then since last night and this morning but I haven't seen it pop up in a few hours now.

SyncML DM
I'm on Bionix V and mine started this AM. I must have closed the message 10x already. What is it? How can I stop it?
Happens on mine too, running nero v3.

also getting this on Bionix 1.2.1, started about 30 mins ago, rebooted, now I'm getting a message in the notification bar saying "Device Management, Connecting to DM server..."
Use titanium backup pro and freeze the Device Manager 2.0 process. Its for ota updates, which you will want to stay away from if you're using bionix and voodoo.

Ok heres whats happening....
first of all, my phone is rooted and i have the latest super clean and kernal.... this has been happening on a variety of kernals and roms tho..
Randomly, out of nowhere, my phone reboots. (maybe this is normal, the kernal is crashing?)
the problem is that once it comes back, i seem to be missing some system applications like my contacts app (whenever i click on contacts in the phone, it crashes, and i dont have a contacts app to click)
and sometimes, my phone Settings app.... if u try to click menu on the home screen and click settings, nothing happens..... and i cant place widgets..
I have to reodin the phone completely and start from scratch....
This happens like once every couple weeks or so....
any ideas?
Try flashing it again w/ data/cache/dalvik wipe

i cant enter the phone to download mode
i see on the screen the icon with the mobile and computer
Has this problem happened to others or is my phone defective
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
It sounds like some of the apps may be incompatiable with the verison you're using. I had a somewhat similar problem when first getting into roms. It may be worth going back to stock and then reflashing to the latest SC.
Not sure.. If it was just a compatibility problem I think it would not work right away... The problem I'm having is random after a spontaneous reboot
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Try fixing it by flashing stock rom then re root > rom install > cwm
Here's the guide I made
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1001064
Rocking Frankenclean 2.9.2 Voodoo/EC10+Sound/Nitro Ultra Honeycomb v3.1/XDA Premium
sounds like my best bet, ill give it a try. thx
I need a way to pull all data from my phone. the screen turns on but is completely unresponsive in the middle of the screen so I can't type half the letters. Anyway to pull data from recovery?
Have you tried creating a backup from cwm?
Its not rooted, completely stock
Guessing you tried auto rotate? When mine went bad, I turned it on, and rotated every direction as needed. Worked for me. Kind of a pain, but allowed me to get all of my info......
Ya I tried, doesn't rotate
That's terrible. Sorry to hear.
The only other way would be a lapdock. I did that as well.
Have u tried adb pull?

What data that you want to pull out? Do u familiar with LINUX platform?
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
Mainly pictures And a few contacts. Pictures weren't saving on SD card unfortunately. No I'm not familiar with Linux
Try install airdroid and see whether u can backup from there.

If XP try android commander
Load it up and you will see all partitions for your phone. Tick sdcard or mnt/emmc and pull to pc
But may not work with you being stock and unrooted

on my mums atrix the touch screen was unreponsive like mentioned but this went away after a while.... it could be a software issue
Do a restore from proper .SBF with rsdlite, this will reset back to factory ROM. If your problem was software, this will fix.
Consider unlock and use CMW...
