You might want to add
Einherjar's flagship, trigger, and loki. I haven't actually tried their rom's out yet, but from what I hear, they are *****in. Might have to give them a shot next.
Those guys are seriously making want to try them out. Hearing nothing but good things.
Powered by Axura with a dash of Voodoo
I ve only ever used Team Whiskey roms...Heathen was in cahoots with them for some time and I'd have no problem going to an EDT rom...I just prefer the black & white/dark scheme
Nero v5 non-touchwiz, ka7 modem, aosp mms.

Need to add "Trigger" to the poll, it's my fav. ROM yet.. works great too.
Where's the eugene love?
flawed poll, too many devs/roms not included.
delete and try again.
Flagshipp alll the way...but u forgot to add that to the poll
sorry about the lack of options guys. this was just based on my initial research on what seemed popular for vibrant. guess i was pretty off!
i'll see if a mod can add the following (post if you want another one added):
flagship
trigger
loki
eugene
ka7
aops
current:
Axura
Nero
Bionix
Gingerbread
Froyo
JK6
KB1
if not, i'll ask a mod to delete and we can try it again with more updated options.

It all depends on your preferences. Read some of the posts regarding the different ROMs and developers to see what you are looking for. Personally, I like Axura, but I have tried all of the others and some are stronger than others in different areas. I just boils down to what you like.
Happy flashing.
1. wrong section
2. ROM preferences vary from people to people. try as many as you want and decide what's best for you!
Here hope this helps:

for now i suggest you do some personal research (go to the Developer's original thread and read people's comments and thoughts about their ROM).
2.2 ROms available:
Stock
Axura
Onyx/Obsidian
Mcnut
AOSPish
FroyoCollab
that's all on top of my head
well anyway, dont rush coz there's plenty going on..
Mcnut r13 released today, i haven't tried it tho
Axura - Master is just about to release 2.0.6
Onyx/Obsidian - v6 coming very soon
+ New firmware leak!!!
How about overclock kernels, how do I get them?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Overclock kernels are only 2.1 roms
Still flashing , thanks to odin & tw
Developer section is littered with posts and I dont want to go through and read a ****load of threads and 100+ pages.
Im currently running an older version of Bionix but Im wanting to see if there is a 100% working and stable 2.2 or possible 2.3 for our phone.
Can anyone link me to the good ****?
The good **** is in the Developers forum.
You don't have to read 100+ pages. Try reading the OP of some of the ROM threads. They clearly state whether a ROM is stable or experimental. As for which is best... A quick use of the search function would have turned up a bunch of "which ROM is better" threads.. Your answer can be found there.
I like Eugene's Ginger Clone Final r2. Fast as ****.
fF
Try every one of them. Whichever you like and runs smooth on your phone is the best rom.
Damn, this again? The same question pops up every week. Why don't I just go to the search.bar up top and search. Sorry to sound rude, but quit being lazy and try researching first.

Try Nero v3
I personally like PepperKake V2 Nexus S Clone. These roms are all a personal preference and you need to try them out for yourself and decide which is best for you.
I was an Axura homer myself
Nero v3 easily, 100 percent working, no need to wait for an update. 2.2 rom with a 2.3 feel and a few 2.3 perks. See my post for available mods and lots of testimonials and pics, i feel ya man, there is too much to sort through when you're starting from nothing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888863

Agreed. Nero 3 is very awesome especially with voodoo 5. Throw in the new ADW Launcher EX and its hands-down the best rom for vibrant.
That is great , im using it right now . Fast as hell .

Nero 3, ived tried alot of roms and nero is just simple the best! Excellent battery life! And its super snappy!

the stock deodexed JL5 that is cwm flashable is the best.
Then you can manually remove any aps you dont want. Comes with touchwiz but you can install adw launcher, launcherpro, zeam, whatever.
I am a fan of the stock.

Gingerbread_Clone_r2 or Nero 4
both are very fine choices
or the new G0dzilla ROM
it's good
1.7GHz overclock
Any of the newer froyo builds with voodoo are great.
Nero v 4.1
Axura 2.2.6
Ginger Clone r2
Really depends on what your friend is looking for, and if he is smart enough to disable voodoo before flashing anything else.
AXURA is my rom of choice, but yes, all the roms are pretty sweet

Has anyone compared call reception between the different ROMs?
I'd also like to give a very honorable mention to the m10 rom as well. They have been flying under the radar, but are very goods imo. I've been going back and forth between it and nero4 for the past couple of days, and I find it refreshing and cool in comparison! You should check it out.

Axura is my vote. Superb everything with attention paid not just to the appearance but to functionality and use. Eugene and Sombionix work is always just outstanding.

I absolutely agree with you, the M10 ROM runs super nice, for the moment you just have to use a different launcher but other than that it's a great ROM also.
Having tried both the latest versions of Axura and Nero. My favor still rests with Axura.

I'm still on Macnut hehe, and about to switch to one of these newer roms.
Is it fair to say...
When comparing Axura and Nero:
Axura is more "themed", and Nero is more "GB-ish"?
Otherwise, both have great performance/battery life etc etc.
thanks.
Gingerbread_Clone_R2 is great!
especially with voodoo!!!
my vote is for the Axura rom... it is the only one I have found to be bug free and functions extremely fast and smooth...
well my friend likes the look of froyo 2.3 b8, he is stock he hasnt even rooted it yet so i guess a rom thats most like that one that installs voodoo and the lagfix as part of the rom dont have to add em in, thanks

nero v4 is there any bad bugs and does it have voodoo, and is touchwiz in froyo 2.3b8? reason i ask is he likes look of my rom im not sure if it has touchwiz or not. how do i flash it from bone stock phone? thanks
Nero V4.1 was the first ROM I ever flashed on any phone (did so yesterday on my vibrant without any problems). Although I can't say much about any other customs ROMs since this is the first time I've done this. I have to say that going from stock 2.1 to Nero with voodoo, the improvement is... Hold on let me- HUGE.
So far I've re-installed all my apps along with market links, tried new ones, tested the mobile WiFi AP, installed flash, played some videos, and it has never frozen up or even lag. Also, I think it started speaking or something on the first boot.
So I recently flashed bionix v and hate the fact I have 5 screens so I always download Zeam to correct that. However after a couple days with Zeam I decided to download a theme and hate it. It slowed down my phone and the antenna/reception became bad. It changed my H back to 3G etc. Minor annoyances but enough to hate the theme. Anyway the only way to remove the theme is to reflash the rom. So now that KB1 is on Axura I considered it but last time I flashed it, it drained my battery where as Nero3 didn't.
So what is your opinion should I flash Bionix V again or venture on to Axura KB1 or something new?
Thanks for the help
Respectfully,
Vahdyx aka Mike

Bionix!

I have run both Axura and Bionix and both seem to be great roms. Axura does have Zeam build right in to the rom. So if you like that launcher it will save you a step but the battery seems really good on both. Bionix will also need you to flash KB1 after but that really is not that hard to do.
While auxura has multiple launchers built in im sure trying to satisfy the masses, it is because of that that the rom seems heavy. I have used both auxura and bionix, and would have to say that they are both great and responsive, but bionix has a lighter cleaner feel to it.
In short flash bionix, instal zeam, wait patiently for the next version of bionix to drop,,,,, soon Im thinking

So, if I live in Northern California, do I need to flash the kb1 modem?
bionix v...TW working on something good and new so just hang tight!
Here in Utah I have had pretty good luck with KA5 for phone calls but I did not like the gps much with it. I Have been using KB1 for about 3 days. The data does not seem as fast to me but the gps is way better than the others that I have tried.
I would say find a rom that you like. Then you can just flash the modem that you like. Here is a link to every modem we have an option of right now. You do not need to change your rom just for the modem.

Hey I am sporting Nero v2 since December on my Vibrant, and am looking for a reliable upgrade. Anyone recommend a fairly bug free rom that is better than Nero v2 to upgrade to? Main thing is that the phone features need to be reliable... Phone calls, and SMS/MMS work. Speed an added bonus.
Thanks much for advice.
I was maybe still a hugh fan of tw but I just started flashing a lot of roms til. Came across Trigger's rom and haven't flashed anything else.
My vote is going to Trigger.
Ps..you might get some **** for not posting this in Q&A. Good luck!

Trigger is my first pick, and slap the Tiger Blood kernel on it. Then Axura, then TW Bionix. But that's just my opinion. BTW, you should read and post in the right place fam, people get hype for this kind of stuff...... I am a fan of the Tiger Blood kernel just because on my phone at least, it has given me the better battery life thus far.
Moved to Q&A. Please do not post question threads in Development.
I went from nero v5 to loki 2.4 (has been removed though) and was pleasantly impressed how well the 2.2.1 rom ran in comparison. So any of the 2.2.1 flavor roms would strongly get my vote.
