Anyway to Port Meizus Android OS ? - Optimus One, P500, V General

is there any how to port meizus android to our phone it would be very nice

Could be difficult because the Meizu has totally different specs and a (for an android device) strange screen resolution. It's hard enough to port the sense-rom from the HTC Legend (which has nearly same specs as out phone).

X10 to Hero

I was wondering if it is possible to port the X10 ROM to Hero. Since HTC has pushed the release of 2.1 for Hero to the 16th. It would be nice to play around with the X10 ROM while waiting for the official 2.1
That would be unlikely, as the X10 uses a WVGA screen resolution while the Hero uses HVGA. This means the image assets would likely need to be scaled down AND reconfigured to the Hero's different aspect ratio.
Frankly, it would probably take months to get it working semi-decently. That's why there's no port of other WVGA roms (such as Desire) to Hero.
There's also the different hardware to take into account, not just processing speed (X10 is a lot faster) but the drivers. It's easier to port from HTC devices to other HTC devices that are similar (eg: Eris, Legend and Hero are very alike in hardware) since they'll usually use the same hardware drivers and have the same buttons
Hope that helps. I'd also like to try out the X10's interface, but it would be more likely on the Nexus One or Desire, and at the moment I doubt many people would like to go back to the X10's Cupcake Android build (2.1 is coming eventually).

HTC 7 Mozart - Desire clone running Windows Phone 7

Let this be just discussion first...
So today was the Windows Phone 7 announcement and a lot of new devices were announced including the HTC 7 Mozart:

Pretty similar hardware and look to our Desire... I know it's early now but do you think that we will be able to port Windows Phone 7 to our Desire? Just for fun... Android is good enough.
Moved to General as not development.
Would be much more difficult since that's 100% reverse engineering 'cause Windows Phone 7 OS is not open source at all. But not impossible, though don't expect any...

Devs here have made wonders, and I think I saw a dev here running WP 7 on an HD 2....
I think we only need some sort of a bootloader... as the hardware is pretty similar it should boot and some parts should work.
I'm also more than satisfied with Android, but hey... as a geek, dual booting my smartphone does have some appeal
Seems unlikely. One of the biggest problems with pouring android to a wm phone is that some of the drivers are in the radio rom and that is closed. So a huge among of work goes into figuring out how to talk to the hardware then coding that into the linux kernel source. In the case of wp7, there will be no source code at all, just binaries. Without haret and debug information, there is no way to start other than flashing the rom and seeing whether it bricks. Maybe if haret got ported out would be a start. (maybe it already has, I didn't look at this for a while).
....speaking about Bravo clones, how about one that runs WinMo 6.5?

These clones always make me laugh a little. Why don't they just put Android on them? Lol.
I'm 100% sticking with Android but, I'd love to be able to dual boot WP7. You know, just to say I can
This would be hard work!
WP7 ist not OpenSource so creating driver etc is vey heavy!
Side note, anyone know if its going to be SIM free? Orange have the exclusive as an operator but I'm quite tempted to have a look at this...first previews are saying WP7 is VERY fast
Orange will have paid through the nose to get exclusivity of this phone so don't expect to see it sim free for at least a couple of months, they normally have either 6 weeks, 3 months or 6 months exclusive rights before going sim free.
I suppose cause the ROMs are out it could just be debranded, assuming it's not too hard to break the bootloader
given desire and mozart have very similar specs, does that mean there's a good chance android can be ported to mozart? im guessing through some kind of bootloader? anyone working on it?
Wondows 7 on htc desire
I would also love, If My HTC Desire is capable of dual boot on Windows 7 and Android. After having such a good hardware but if it does not support on software then it such hardware is of no use.

Any one found a workaround to this yet? Dual booting is lovely. For this reason, I happen to put a hand on a HD2 with WinMo 6.5 and I can boot Android on it but the phone is not mine, so now Im searching for a good HTC phone that gives me the options to play with.

[Q] What devices can I port roms from for the eris??

Thinking about trying to port something new and intresting what devices can i port from for the eris???
I've never ported a ROM myself, but devices with similar hardware (such as CDMA Hero or the G1 [i think]) are the best candidates for porting.
What I think is most important is matching display resolution (HVGA).
The Aria, but its GSM so its a little trickier

[Q] Which phone is it? Too many to choose...

Dear all
I started with my Android experience about two years ago (a little more I guess) with the HTC Desire.
Now I have a HTC Desire HD (was lucky enough to win one) which is in use.
So, that means I only have real "experience" with HTC phones. Everything else is either from the phone shop looking at it and touching it for a few moments, but not really using it or the internet.
While I like both - the HTC Desire and Desire HD - I find the HD jus the maximum of size I would like to cope with. The Desire was in my humble opinion perfectly sized. Not too big, not too small.
Now, both phones will not see any updates (the HTC Desire is now somewhere in 2.2 and the HD got 2.3.5 or something) anytime soon, certainly not 4.x.
Is there a phone out there (I will not limit myself to HTC) around the size of the HTC Desire (3.7 inch display) which will get 4.x?
My search on the internet revealed many interesting ones, but all of them are at least the size of the HD (most of the time even larger!). Is there really no android phone out there with that size? Are they all getting newer AND bigger?
Before you ask: Yes, modding is an option. However, I was just unlucky and surely stupid enough that I can not manage to get CM working on the HTC Desire. While I think I managed to root it, the loading of the new mod fails and I get back to stock all the time...but that is a subject of another time
Thanks a lot
Regards

Hmm... i believe i would just wait and see what comes out. The release of Android 4.0 devices just began and a lot of new devices are coming. So for right now, i would just stay with what you have till some new phones are released.
Please hit the thank you button if i helped!
Maybe picking up an unlocked Samsung/Google Nexus S is a possibility?
We have one here and I'm impressed with how fast and stable it is with Android 4.0. Plus, as a Nexus, it keeps on being supported with the latest/greatest updates as Google makes them available.

will we see a web os port to our device?

well after the sourcre code of web os for the nexus is released i hope some developher will be kind enough to port it on s3 if its possible
after all it was a nice os and i believe with our hardware it will fly and in speed and battery
