There was no CD with the device, and I just cannot figure out how to connect my device to my computer. Of couse I can connect it in Mass Storage mode, but I want to connect otherwise. LG Mobile Support tool doesn't list the P500 as far as I know.
Any help?
on the original sd card was lg pc suite with usb drivers.
Whoops. I feel silly. Thanks!
You could also install the USB driver without installing the full suite. Just run the file named LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497MA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0.msi in the USB_Driver folder
Is there a way to make the phone install his usb drivers automatically when you put him in a new pc ?
autorun.ini ?
You can download the PC suit from here
LGPCSUIT
Thanks for the link, but i don't really need pc suite
I just asked if it was possible to autoinstall the drivers when you plug you phone in a new pc. so you can use you phone as a usb drive, without requiring to install drivers in advance...
But i think it'll be complicated since your pc would need the drivers to install the same drivers.
heres how to install the proper drivers:

Right now im gunna flash all thru my phone but i would really like to get it working on the computer, any help ?
windows xp btw
One thing you can try that worked for me on a couple of machines that wouldn't recognize dl mode is the following. Download the 64 bit drivers, can be found through the vibrant bible, and unzip the folder, should come in .zip format. Then put your phone into dl mode, plug it into your computer, and let it detect the devices and not load the drivers. Once its recognized the unknown device, access your windows device manager manager, right click on the unknown device, choose update driver, do not let windows auto detect it, rather, manually install the driver by selecting "install from a specific location", then "include this location in the search" and use the browse button to navigate to the driver folder you unzipped. Let it do its thing and should then be recognized in dl mode.
I installed CM9 on my touchpad, the first build available, but when i try to plug it into my computer, the driver installation keeps failing and i cant mount it as a usb drive to be able to transfer the new CM9. Is there any way i can transfer the zip file without pluging it into my computer?
Also would anybody know why the drivers keep failing? in on win7 64bit
go to storage top right click the dots, enable mtp drivers
I love you!
I don't know why this isn't just pre set everyone will be using this feature.

Hello,
Have you tried official ones from Huawei?
I can't post any link, so you google for "HUAWEI Android Phones USB Driver" and look for the huawei website (it was the 2nd google result for me), the properties are v1[1].0 | 2011-06-29 | 7.76MB
I have a U8860 and in windows 8 it worked very well. Connect your phone (maybe you need to enable the usb debugging mode on the developer settings of your phone) and just run the installation and execute the thing that will give you the option for drivers installation. There is no need to do any manual .inf selection to install.
Hope it helps
Thanks to try help.
i did what you said, first i unninstall the drivers, then i install drivers from huawei website. but still the same. When i connect the usb in computer, only starts charging the phone. nothing more happens.
Is there any way to access the internal storage through USB without using Huawei's HiSuite program?
I would expect standard mtp or ptp to work, but when I select those options, the only drive that shows up is the HiSuite install "cd".
Thanks in advance!
have you enabled USB debugging on your phone?
If not enable please enable it and try again
I've enabled debugging, but that doesn't change anything.
Surely I should be able to use MTP without needing to enable debugging?
ofcorse, its standart for every phone, but sometimes user dont instal drivers, so we see device, but not storage.
what pc version, mac you use?
on windows, copmuter, right click, device manager, connect phone with pc, there need to be yellow alert simbol, pres on it, instal drivers etc, ofcorse, if you instal hisuite, you shuldnt be problems to connect phone without instaling drivers, because hisuite install all needet things, but who knows, maybe for tohers not working things liek for me
Make sure the drivers are correctly installed for your phone.
In my case, an antivirus software update was causing the MTP driver to malfunction. The yellow caution icon was activated when I went to the 'Connect Phone with PC' tab in the Device Manager (Windows Explorer / This PC + right click / Manage). I opened the antivirus program and it asked me to restart the PC, which I did. After restarting the PC, I connected my phone and I was able to see it as a removable device (a.k.a. external device, a.k.a USB device) and transfer files through Windows Explorer as usual. So, basically, make sure all the Windows Updates and antivirus updates are 'updated'. Best of luck.
Can someone share the USB driver that came inside the phone? Just open the phone on a windows pc and copy the driver
