I flashed bionix v, which was the first Rom I had ever flashed. So basically what i'm trying to say is I am a NOOB! lol, I want to flash the new update to Bionix 1.2. When dragging the .zip file from my desktop to my internal memory do I replace the current bionix folder or just leave it and add the new one to? Then when I go into clockwork do I just flash the new Bionix.zip? I just want to make sure before I screw anything up.
Any And all help is appreciated!
Once you flashed the original bionix-v you can delete it from the root of your internal sd or you can just place the update to 1.2 right on the internal sd with it. ..doesn't matter really.
You dont have to replace the Bionix V zip. with the Bionix 1.2 zip. you can just have both of them in your internal memory and since you already have the Bionix V installed make sure that the Bionix 1.2 you downloaded is the non-wiping version. Once youve done all that you can just flash the Bionix 1.2 zip. Maker sure you dont wipe when you are asked if you want to wipe
So right now I could delete the orginal bionix .zip file and it would still work? Sorry for the dumb questions! haha I appreciate the help though, where is the thanks button at btw? Like I said very new here.
EDIT found the thanks button
yea it would still work

So, I've been wanting to root and "Flash" my phone with custom roms etc.. Well I have it update to JI6 (2.1-update1) would I still be able to root it? Can I use the one click root or would I would to do the manual one?
I wanted to install a custom rom once doing, and I've read through the threads and got a basic understanding of it but I'm still confused. Why am I "Flashing" it, like what is flashing.
Maybe theirs a thread I'm missing that explains all this, if so sorry.
I have more questions but I'll see if I still need them answered when these get answered
Read my first post in the general section sticky. I hit on all of this. I would be happy to answer any detailed question after you read it.
Flashing is just a term for installing the .zip file that is the rom.
Bionix 1.9.1 is amazing.
I personally would root manual. I did it from ji6, worked perfectly. I would also download the file straight to your phone and not even worry about your pc. Just use an app like astro to rename it and then move the file to sdcard/
Be sure to go to koushs thread and get rom manager and clockwork recovery setup. This is also in the sticky.
Ok thanks very much, I looked at your thread. I come from an iphone so this is all very differnt for me. Whats the difference between a rom and a kenerl?
And I found this little youtube series about flashing a galaxy s, would this be good to get a general idea of this from? (http: //ww w.you tube . co m/watch?v =E90MyE D94OY&p=C8D58129 7770EB5B&playnext=1& index= 77)
I wanted to flash it with the rom bionix 1.9.1, but when I go to download theres like "bionix 1.9.1 w/stock kernel" and "bionix 1.9.1 w/kingklick OC/UV kernel", etc.. which one do I want? Whats the differnece?

I understand that and I can explain it, when you connect your vibrant and put it into mass storage mode, you'll get 2 "Removable disks" on your computer, put the .zip onto the root of the removable disk with around 16gb of max space.
A rom is basically the entire android 2.1.1, but with the tweaks from the developers. The kernel can be included with a rom, or you could just flash it over the stock jfd or ji6. The reason most flash another kernel is so they can overclock their processor. Jac's oc/uv (overclock and undervolt). I am running at 1.2GHz thanks to JAC.
If you do not want to overclock just get 1.9.1 stock, though I'm a huge fan of JAC's.
Put on the root = not in a folder. You want the internal memory, sdcard/... Not the external (sd card) sdcard/sd/
Dvande, I'm not at aoc and can't go to your linkfit the video.
Ok so I am no on comrom 2.1 and want to flash a theme. Do I just put the zip on my sd card and flash the theme in CWM or are there more steps?

You will put the theme on your SD card but before you flash any theme you need to make sure that its updated to be used on Comrom v 2.1 otherwise you will have issues. I think the only theme i saw that was done so far for 2.1 is Crysis Revolution v4.0 *Community ROM 2.1!* *6.20.11
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037369
You can also check GrainOSand's themes as he is supposed to be updating his for 2.1
That's the theme I was looking at lol . I figured that it needed to be 2.1. Just one more question do I need to wipe any of the Davik caches or any thing else. I noticed some said to others didn't wasn't sure if it was a required step.
if you can't till this is my first time theming a phone
Hello,
My camera was not working so I backup my Bionix rom, my apps with titanium, etc. I did a new install of Bionix and then updated the OverStock v1.3 kernel using recovery screen. My phone will not boot up. I think I should have updated the kernel through an app that does that, so I messed up.
I am unable to go into recovery. I am able to get to download mode. I am downloading the tool box for vibrant along with the bionix rom. I have never used the vibrant tool box, but my questions:
1. Can use vibrant tool box under download mode and install a new copy of bionix without loosing info of the internal memory card?
2. If I use Oding3_V1.0 and install Eugene_2e_jk2 (like I originally did a long time ago), would I loose the info in the internal memory card?
3. Is there another, easier way to get bionix install and not loose my internal memory card?
I would appreciate any help. I am downloading both programs and it is tacking a while, so any help would help a lot while I wait.
whatever you do it shouldnt wipe your internal sdcard....but i do suggest to just odin back to stock
thanks button if i helped

Thanks a lot! That is a good to know. I was worried I would loose all the info in the internal card.
Do you know if there is a newer version of the eugene with root? Or what would you recommend as the latest stock with root for odin?
Thanks again!
this one has never failed and is the easiest to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047087
I see it says ** Re-partition is checked now in ODIN - THIS IS APPROPRIATE!! **
I just want to make sure that if check this, my insternal sdcard, that is part of the phone memory, wont be formatted, correct?
Sorry for the questions, but I don't want it to go wrong!
yes it wont be formatted ...the only thing it format is the system file

Hi, i'm new to this. i just recently Rooted my Evo 3D. i have a theme over my ROM(which is Supra ROM). The theme i have is this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220059&highlight=[Mods]+MaShEd+Up+DrOiDs
however i dont know how to get rid of it. if anyone can help me with this please let me know.
I just want to run my Supra ROM.
Boot into recovery. Wipe cache and Dalvik only. Do not wipe data. Then reflash your Supra rom and reboot.
thanks!! i also want to delete the theme .zip file. how will i go about that?
Just delete it from your wherever you put it on your sd card with a file explorer.

do i do that before or after i reFlash my ROM again?
sorry if im asking too many questions, i just want this to do this without making a mistake
It doesn't matter in what order you do it. When you flashed that theme, it updated the files in your rom with the themed files from the .zip and that .zip has just been sitting on your card doing nothing since then.
oh okay thank you so much!
Currently running Bionix-v 1.2.1 thinking about upgrading to 1.3.1 or to CM7.
1.2.1 is the only thing i've ever flashed and after that i haven't modded my phone in any way.
So basically i've forgotten everything else that i've ever learned lol.
SGH-T959
Firmware 2.2
Baseband T959UVKA5
Kernel 2.6.32.9
I've heard good things about 2.3 and am running an extended battery so battery life isn't a huge deal.
Have Rom Manager
SetCPU
Titanium Backup
I guess i can backup all the apps that i want with TI-B right? and then can i just...flash 1.3.1 or CM7?
I started reading the official CM7 thread and it confused me... And reflashing will wipe phone memory but not SD Card Memory right? And my Rom has to be saved onto the SD to be able to flash?
Help is appreciated. Thanks
