I've installed a custom 2.2 rom to my X10, but I wanted to restore my phone to the standard 2.1 rom because of issues I had to restore my backup files.
Flashing with SEUS or PCC didn't work, so I thought I'd try to remove the custom 2.2 rom with Xrecovery. I selected wipe system from the Xrecovery menu. That didn't went well..
My phone doesn't boot anymore, it's getting stuck when the white Sony Ericcson appears on the display.
I already tried to flash my phone with SEUS and PCC, but I get the message I already have the newest software installed.
Flashing with Flashtool did work, but then I have to reboot my phone to turn on debugging/ unknown sources. And that still doesn't work.
Somebody can help me with this please?
Hook up to SEUS and when it says you already have the latest software, it also gives you the choice of going ahead and (re)installing it anyway. Do that, and that should take care of the problems. If you don't see that option, you should try downloading the latest version of SEUS, installing it, and trying again.
Since you did a full wipe you've lost xRecovery too, so SEUS is your best bet IMO.
I have SEUS Version: 2.11.1.9
It doesn't work, same message. I don't see an option to install it anyway..

To flash with Bynary's flash tool you don't need to be on usb debugging mode... Just put your cellphone on flash mode...
press the back key while you insert the usb cable and then flash whatever firmware you want...

recommendation is 2.1.A.0.435 because of MT & stability.

Alright, I'll try helping out.
1st. xRecovery
Install xRecovery then do a full wipe of your phone... Dont forget to backup just in case.
2nd. FlashTool
Use FlashTool Through your computer and flash the official firmware.
3rd. Master reset.
FlashTool 0.2.6 - "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746"
Decrypted Official ROMs - "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793"
xRecovery - "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571"
See if any of these methods work...
result :
my phone root is broken so it says successfully instaled xrecovery via the flashtool but i cant boot onto xrecovery it just do a normal startup

that and If u want, do a manual installtion of xRecovery. lemme hit this up:
1st. make sure buzybox is installed, just in case, dl the installer from the market and run it.
2nd. dl xRecovery 0.3 and extract it. (preferebly on computer)
3rd. go into /res/raw/ and you'll find 3 files, copy and paste it into /system/bin/
then xRecovery should be back.
(i kinda do this often cause the auto install of xRecovery usually fails on my phone)
PROBLEM:
HELP, I stuffed up, have I bricked my phone?:
I installed this via Flashtool: baseband 71 WITH KERNEL - http://hotfile.com/dl/126005647/bb72...ERNEL.ftf.html
Then lost access to the sdcard in the OS and in xRecovery
So I flashed it back to baseband 54 which allowed me to write to the sdcard again
So I installed this via xRecovery : CWM RECOVERY 4.0.1.4 for amend recovery and 2.3 kernel - http://hotfile.com/dl/126007952/eee0...ernel.zip.html
Now I cant get into xRecovery and the phone just hangs on the Sony Ericsson screen.
I tried installing via Flashtool a Generic 2.1 Rom but both Flashtool 2.8 and 2.9 Beta give me the following error
09/033/2011 11:33:23 - ERROR - Please plug you device in flash mode
09/033/2011 11:33:24 - INFO - Searching Xperia....

09/033/2011 11:33:24 - INFO -
09/033/2011 11:33:24 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
I was eventually going to upgrade to the latest CM7 rom.
I've tried a few Flashtool tutorials, but i get the same error everytime.
SOLUTION:
Downloaded Flashtool 0.2.9.1
In the drivers folder of Flashtool there is an installer: ggsetup-2.2.0.10.exe (Gordon's Gate)
Install it.
While my phone was plugged into my PC I went into Device Manager and updated the driver for the Sony Ericsson ADB device, with drivers from the Gordon's Gate install directory.
I then flash baseband 2.046 via the Batch file method
Then using Flashtool I flashed generic rom X10a_2.0.A.0.504_Generic.ftf
Rebooted phone and all is well.
did u download the latest flashtool? delete the old version.... even though it's new
just delete it and go to flashtool thread in development section and download it, then download 2.1 FW again, the link u gave is error link @@
I downloaded the latest flashtool yesterday, also 2.8 and Doomlord's Custom Flashtool.
did u downlaod again the 2.1 FW?
I downloaded this: X10a_2.1update1_r2.1.A.0.435_Generic.ftf from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746&highlight=2.1.A.0.435
Only yesterday. I guess I should try the other 2.1 X10a roms.
did u put it in firmware folder? that's kinda weird cuz whenver i have flash oborted.... i just turn off and on again and it works fine
Yeah, definitely put it into the firmware folder.
I tried SEUS and it says to put the phone into recovery mode and i follow the usual process and it doesnt recognise it. But Flashtool appears to see it right before the flash aborts.
... damn... the thing is the driver didnt recognise it....
how many computer u have?
u use only 1 to deal with the phone?
I "broke" it at home with Windows 7 64-bit, but I have no internet atm, so I downloaded everything fresh at work yesterday on my WinXP machine, and still no luck.
Try install latest adb driver for x10.
And try flash it again.

Did that, twice.
thanks,
Just tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212359
Same error in Flashtool
Should i just take my phone back to a 3mobile shop and say it went flat and now wont boot up?
Can someone tell me if its possible to reinstall xRecovery without using Flashtool?
Well I've finally had a little bit of success. I installed the Gordons Gate USB Flash Driver from here:
Flashtool2.9.1beta\drivers\ggsetup-2.2.0.10.exe
I attempted to flash an older baseband that I was on before, it actually went through the whole flash procedure, but still doesnt appear to boot the phone I'll keep trying.
do u have another battery?

Well, you flash the rom back to 2.1 by using the xRecovery backup and you should flash .67 baseband after the backup also.
You did not flash the .67 BB so it stuck at SE screen.
Please try to install the usb driver to make flashtool work again.

Please answer this question, what the heck did you downgrade, I hope you just downgraded the kernal.
What method of rooting did you use?
But first, what is your phone's:
firmware: 2.1 or 2.3
baseband
do you have xrecovery
If you would like help, I and others are willing to help you. Just post again and I will post links of the rooting method and guides to flashtool.
It happened to me... I was trying to install Jerpelea's latest 2.3.5, and suddenly my phone keeps rebooting from SE logo.. I can go into xrecovery, but when I try to recover a backup, it says it can't mount the sdcard...
What can i do?
Is my phone ruined??
Tks..
Have you installed latest SE adb driver?
Unplug your battery about 3 minutes then plug it again, use flashtool to flash 2.1 firmware, then connect it and press back button till green light appear, let it alone till finished.
Root your 2.1 fw, install recovery, and simply flash wolf 2.3 ROM, unplug your battery, plug it again and flash baseband 71.
Now your phone should be boot properly.
You almost cant break your X10 by flashing anything, cause bootloader is locked.

You cant ruin it mate.
Just install your recovery again, try with apk.
I think you have old recovery, cause this problem appear when gb just released, and now fixed.
You can find topic about it on X10 android development forums, Z already fixed it.

Ok, but the problem is: I can't start the phone, and the sdcard doesn't mount properly so I can recover a backup....
How can I install de recovery again without starting the phone?
You're right, I had the old recovery installed...
EDIT: And now I cant even go into recovery... It's fully stuck on SE logo... Damn!
Turn phone off. Boot pc companion. Goto update service. Click update. Says no phone found. Click repair option. Follow steps on screen. It will flash latest SE firmware. Root. Install recovery. Restore your backup on your now mountable sd card. Done you can't break this phone, can always restore through pc companion.

Flash stock firmware from flashtool, if you dont know about how to use flashtool.
Just go to x10 android development forum, find thread about flashtool by androxyde.
Dont be so worry about your phone, you cant break it with flashing ROM or kernel.

Hi. I'm a newbie on xda and I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me.
I have a problem with my X10i. It used to run stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread with root access and busybox / xRecovery 0.3 already installed. I decided to install DiXperia 7 'Avenger' by DiKeJ (greetings, buddy) on my device using xR. I downloaded the ROM and pasted it directly into my SD card. Then I did all the steps:
-Factory Reset
-Wipe Cache Partition
-Wipe Dalvik Cache
-Wipe Battery Stats
I choosed Install Custom Zip to install DX7. The console displayed few lines of code which I don't remember and this error:
Code:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(Device or resource busy)
E: Can't mount /sdcard
After this my phone freezes on SE logo, I can't run xRecovery, system or even charge my phone. I tried to flash it using Flashtool, but it doesn't recognize my device.
Is there any chance to resurrect my Xperia? I want to use it again, even with the stock ROM?
Greetings
Yes it possible, and impossible to break your device for now - sometimes this problem exist, don't know why, and not only on my ROM - it's possible on all X10, I had it too one time when I wanted to flash Wolfbreak's ROM v4 (old time ). Let's back to your problem - you need to apply again Stock ROM 2.3.3 - install it via SEUS/PcCompanion (or FlashTool, but I suggest official app. If you can't flash via FT, then you need to update your drivers for X10), and then make Root, Busybox, and xRecovery 0.3, I suggest you GB ready (the newest FlashTool have it included all). Then problem should dissapear, without anything. I think it should help. Take care buddy .
DiKeJ I can't remember. Does Your ROM require an unlocked bootloader?
Sent from X10
Use this tool forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415600
Thank you very much, DiKeJ. My X10 has been saved!
But I still want to install DX7. What did I do wrong (or what's wrong with my SD card)? How can I make it work next time?
Anybody care to tell me how to get any of those methods to work? I got my x10 stuck at the SE logo while flashing, and I can't do anything with it. None of the programs can recognize it and it won't boot into recovery.
can you help me my x10i freeze at "Sony Ericsson" after rooting kernel help me please
im from philippines and i don't think we have sony ericsson care here
can you send me in my email? [email protected] please
I guess the best solution to get ride of this issue is to flash the stock full firmware and then do everything from the beginning.
To do that, you should visit this topic : [TOOL/X10] [UPDATE 07/04/2012] Flashtool version 0.6.9.0
Then flash a generic firmware(you choose whatever you like) using flashtool
Once your phone is booted, you can try to mod it as you wish.
If you would like to change the kernel, I advise you to unlock the bootloader : read the topic
Hope this gonna help

It should work in x10i manong, just start from the beginning which you need apply again the stock 2.3.3 ROM from sony ericsson (sony mobile these days) via PC Suite then Root and install busybox and xRecovery 0.3 and the problem is solved. I tried it to my friend's phone which is x10i also, and it works. Just follow the instructions given by DiKeJ and you'll be fine. :good:
