Not Android Development
This should have been posted in Steve's thread and not in open Forum Thanks
Streakdroid 1.6.0 Has Performance tweaks built in so no need to re add them

do a composite search on google.com
ie. franco kernel optimus t depositfiles or mediafire (which ever filesharing host he commonly uses-which I believe to be depositfiles)
I dont know why you would want an earlier version of franco's kernel, Ive used everything from v14 and up, except for right now Im running a CM7 rom, so Im not using his kernel
okey thank you..no need to ask if what will i do with the kernel..im just asking and that's all..then just answer..

you all can add this by yourself to your stock rooted 2.1 rom.
but you wont have any multitouch with your e10i : only a pinch2zoom way
read x8 forum for OC,UV and pinch2zoom
and please, do not post this kind of request in dev forums ... (general and Q&A are made for that )
the original 2.1 update 1 is more stable and performance...
but i cant create a rom.. im not a expert
i've asked if someone create this rom for more performance.. its all =|

you absolutely don't need to be an expert
are you using xrecovery or CWM ?
you just need to add the needed modules to make nearly all you want to work
just follow what the dev said for installation of each module
OC :
dx original thread
direct link to the file
note that OC module contains UV module
pinchzoom :
dx original thread
nearly no lags for 2D :

you know where downloading the 2.1.1.a.6??

you don't need to download it why do you want it ?
all you need is to add modules in the right place and edit your hw_config.sh
and reboot
(don't forget to backup before )
but you can flash lastest firmware with SEUS
if i don't really understand what you want, tell me and reformulate
because i have cm7 and for the 2.1.1.c.0 i dont find mods =(..

keyboard bugs are really smalls with some practice you just don't notice them
and using a gingerbread rom with a custom kernel is the best way to prove that SE left us, but that we (xda devs, testers, users, ...) bypassed all this and make something they never imagined to happen
you may find some stock rom collection in the forum if you really want to flash it back
and some xrecovery zips (not cwm sorry) with features ready to be flashed
==> somewhere in threads of ... march and may i think

Also stock rom is really, really slow. Just today i tried Linpack test and in stock I got around 2.5~ 3 MFlops score but on MiniCM 2.0.6 I am getting 7.7 = >150% performance boost!
nah, on daily use the stock rom is the best

forget test results, use both of them for a while, then you can compare.
I'm using xperia x8 and I installed jit compiler when I was in stock rom, then I installed gingerdx, the question is do I have to flash jit compiler everytime I install a new rom?
Thanks for the answers.
If the new rom doesn't already have it and you want it, then yes.

if I'm correct, jit is already installed in minicm7. Just enable or disable it in cm settings > performance. You don't need to do anything else

Hi All,
I have Dell Streak 5 with Android Version - Froyo 2.2.2, Baseband Version - GAUSB1A135500-EU, Kernel Version - 2.6.32.9-perf, Build Number - 16077.
I want to upgrade froyo to gingerbread, so please let me know the process of upgrading & also applicable links for downloading the softwares & steps required.
i suggest not to upgrade if the current rom is working correctly to you...
upgrading would always have its significant problem ... if you are prepared to handle all the problems that may arise...
goto to dsc thread and start from dsc 1.0 ...

Sent from my Xperia S using xda premium
What kind of problems may be expected from the best of the custom ROMs listed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Streak_5/ROMs? Which of those ROMs would be best for the retail version of the Streak 5?

like i said... if it is working as it should, dont upgrade... but if you want to try and experience it yourself, try dsc 1.0 first... then try others when you become familiar... there is no absolute problem because everyone face issues quite differently...
This is my first android phone so flashing roms was a huge challenge for me. But well worth the time. Currently using CM7 port and it has a lot more functions that I enjoy.
must be in gingerbread ,because more fast ,more stable ,front face camera. I flash all the roms that post in xda-dev.,now i am on [ROM] Miui-Lewa 2.3.7 beta.
I'm still on stock, never had a problem with it so never had enough urge to try anything else. I will probably flash whatever rom DJSteve comes up with though. (if he does) as it's bound to be a major step up.
can u help me ; show me the step by step to update my dell streak 5

Hi byakuya,
There are many many topic to read, sure you will be confused, so did I when I started. The best advice given to me by senior members here was to get familiarize with xda-developers.com. But anyway, here is how I got started:
1) There are forums divided into 5 sections at here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=695
I think you know this already, correct?
2) There is Dell Streak 5 wiki here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dell_Streak
a) Scroll below, and you will find Stock ROMs and Recoveries links. - Note, still you have to find specific forums to tell you more. The more the better!
DO NOT go blindly doing things.
b) Scroll below more, and you will find Custom ROM title with link to the Custom ROM page.
Or you could just go to this link directly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Streak_5/ROMs
On that ROMs page I mention, scroll below until you see
_n0p_ DSC 1.0 2.3.3 407 Yes Mar 26, 2012 Link Mirror
***You must click the Mirror that will start the downloading. Note, the Link is no more there, maybe _nop_ has taken it out.
I just recently download the DSC v1.0 and flash it, it works, but I did not use it more than 30 minutes as I was just testing a short while. I can't say more.
One more thing, you really got to read more, I am still learning too. It does requires patience and calmness, but it would help from getting into big trouble later. Reading is a MUST.
A Senior Member, Strephon Alkhalikoi, shared me this link that explain Kernel & Baseband difference :-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574886
And in that post you can find, Theonew, Recognized Contributor, share this link on Android Terms,Slang,Definitions & Guides !Revised! UPDATED!! 06/12/2013 :-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466228
OK. Hope that will help.
