My girlfriend has an LG Optimus T and she has a consistant issue with it entering Emergency Mode. She will shut it down, but when restarting, it goes directly into Emergency Mode. She has to pull the battery for at least 5 min, sometimes 10 before she can reboot normally. Any ideas what is going on? Thanks in advance.

the only chance is to use kdz http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314 or if you have a custom recovery installed flash another rom
The phone just randomly boots into emergency mode by itself? To get in, you need to press up and back button during the LG home screen so maybe there is a problem with corrupted rom, is it rooted/custom recovery? Has there been any modification to it or is it on stock?

No it doesn't do it randomly by itself. Just when she manually powers off her phone. It will shut down and power off okay, but when restarting it goes directly into Emergency Mode and won't boot normally unless the battery is pulled for at least 5 min. If we try and put the battery back in too soon it just goes directly back into Emergency Mode... have to wait it out. Phone is rooted, and no custom rom.

I'd try to switch into emergency mode manually. I have no idea if this helps, but you can try...

I have the same problem! I use Void Echo, but i used to have stock rom and still get that boot error... My guess is that it's a bootloader error, so maybe uninstalling the custom recovery and reinstalling it will fix this.

Hi,
I tried to flash it from the KDZ software but it left the phone in emergency mode. I tried taking the battery out but no luck.
Please help.
Do you still have the custom recovery?

I'm not sure about, but if you failed in flashing, it's better don't turn phone off (removing battery). It can happen that it will never boot up! Just try flash it again with some other modes (recovery should be right, but some people say, that also another type of communication worked).
Same thing happened for me. PC was not detecting the phone. Then I removed battery and plugged data cable, then came to normal

If you don't started flashing in emergency mode yet, than yes, you can restart it as you want, but if you already started flash some data in recovery mode and it fails, it will be definitely better to try do that again without turning off, because there is high possibility of braking of device.
Boots straight into emergency Mode
Hi guys, I tried to update the phone using the LG Mobile Update and for some unknown reason it was stuck at 4% and the update process interrupted itself. The phone had emergency Mode in it, I removed the battery, placed it back the phone turned on fine, checked out the version and it was on 2.2.1 (the version I had, didn't update).
I decided to retry (stupid decision) and the same thing happened except that now. I remove the battery and it goes straight into Emergency Mode. Tried updating through the KDZ Tool and it does not recognize the phone, there doesn't seem to be a "Handshake" between the PC and the Phone.
Is there anyway that maybe I can force the Phone to mount (on a Linux Box maybe) and use some other Tool to flash it?? Or did I just turn my phone into Paperweight?.
BTW, this is my girlfriend's phone and I kind of got her into giving me her phone to update it, so yeah... I feel like **** for doing this.
Forgot to mention,
Tried:
Removing the battery for a while (15 min +)
Turning on the phone while holding "Home + Volume Down" and "Home + Volume Down + Search"
Thanks in advance.
help me plz,,,,,
i updated my phone to v20c and restarted but it got stuck on android screen (android animation working) almost 20mins are up but nothing proceeds further.plz help me urgent
Do a factory reset.
Turn phone off, then press and hang these 3 buttons:
"Vol down"; Power; Home.
After that everything should be fine.
so my phone is not dead?
do i have to worry,i dont know anything plz tell me?
btw i did what u said and still it is acting in that manner
thanx bro,thank you very much
working fine now
btw how can i restore my phone to previous version?
As long as it is turning on, you don't have to worry.
Take the battery out and put it back in. Start the phone in emergency mode by holding the back button + vol down and then power. You should have an orange yellowish screen with "emergency mode!!" On it.
Reflash the kdz but this time choose 3gqct and emergency instead of diag.
This time wait until it says upgrade finished. Don't unplug it even if it restarts. Until "==== update finished ===="
Edit: got that solved already.

bro,do i need to download a v10e file for restoration??
and do i have to ennable usb debugging mode again in the above case of restoration ??
Re-download the same kdz you wanted or anyone else (anything p500).
If you switch to emergency mode there is no need to enable debug.

Hey all. Im new here, so here it goes :
Recently flashed my s2 with Crysis21's sensatioN rom. However, it suddenly froze and well, I can't turn it on. However, when I connect it to my charger, I see a battery icon, and its stuck at loading. Intermittently, ewvery 3 secs, it'll turn back off and on and off and so on...
I can get into the warning screen, where u press up to enter download mode... but upon pressing it, somehow the phone reboots. Can any kind soul help me out. Phone can only be turned o with battery inside :crying:
Can you enter Recovery? If neither that works, your last hope is Usb Jig.

use odin and flash an official firmware.
If you can enter download mode then just follow the sticky on here to fix a soft bricked phone.
He cant enter DL mode!

Hey guys, haveing a slight panic attack. My phone, running nightly 1/8/2012 CM10 made a weird noise like a frozen boop sound and shut off, when left alone it buzzes like it's starting up and just keeps doing that with no sign of actually booting. I can get into what seems to be Odin, and am currently downloading the stock Odin file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330 in hopes that this is a brick that is fixable. If anyone can help me identify what happened, or what I might be able to do if this doesn't work. I would really appreciate it.
EDIT: I can get into ODIN but as soon as it shows the "downloading" screen it shuts off and does the repeated buzzing sound..
Please help if you're able too.
If there is lifesigns you don't have a brick.
Just reflash your rom.
I can't boot into recovery, my only life sign is the Samsung logo at first start-up, then nothing. I can get into ODIN, but when in download mode it stays for about 5 seconds and then reboots infinitely.
Have you tried removing the battery, putting it back in, then try getting into recovery?

Stuck power button ?
Stuck volume button ??
Very common problem on gnote ....g
Volume buttons work fine, I can press down to get into download mode, but it does not stay in download mode. it reboots again and loops with no screen indicators. I can't get into recovery at all and the battery pull does nothing.
Stuck power button.....maybe
that would explain the rapid reboot.
does it attempt a reboot after pulling battery, then putting it back in ? without touching buttons ?
If yes, then power button is stuck...g
I had the same problem as you. I was stuck up in the mountains when this happened. Random reboot and then just 2 second buzzing and black screen. I ended up taking it completely apart all board connections and making sure nothing was fried or stuck. put it back together and was able to get it into download mode and reflash via odin. My only issue im having right now is getting it to root and flash recovery and rom. Hope that helps.
You might consider buying a download mode jig shown here

A USB jig will not work on the galaxy note.
If download mode is gone, the device must be restored using a JTAG service.....g
Hey everyone, my S4 is running TWRP and it was fine until just now...it keeps freezing when I boot into recovery in which I have to do a battery pull...on top of that, when I pull the battery and put it back in, I'll power it on and it will automatically boot into recovery without me doing anything! Idk what to do, should I have used CWM instead? This is a never ending loop cycle now! Please help!

You can end the cycle by booting into download mode. After you pull your battery and reinsert it, hold volume down + power button then just cancel when it asks if you want to boot into download mode.

I installed Hyperdrive RLS10.2 on my Verizon GS4 and tried to reboot, but now it shows me the Samsung custom boot and simply recycles doing this. If I boot to download mode, and deselect download it goes into the same loop.. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
HELP! Recovery bootloop, no adb, no odin, no kies

Same EXACT problem here. Tried to install the new TWRP 2.6.3.1 to prep for a 4.3 ROM install. TWRP suggest a goo install .The Goo install ran through, goo was back to it's main menu and i hit reboot recovery, but still had 2.6.0. So, I renamed the 2.6.3.1 img and put it in the BHP090808_I545_ALL_IN_ONE_TOOL all in one dir, then flashed it through that. Went fine, odined it in, then rebooted into recovery like usual..... Except, recovery never comes up. it just sits there with the Recovery Booting.... thing and Samsung custom screen FOREVER! I tried to use all in one tool to reflash 2.6.0 and it fails becasue odin doesn't see the phone, even thought it's sitting on the booting recovery screen. Tried button hold to get into download, same problems, I get the vol up prompt, hit vol up, get the d/l mode screen for 1-3 secs and then it just reboots itself - into recovery booting screen if i don't try d/l mode,.And odin doesn't see it while the d/l mode vol up msg or d/l active screen is up. Only way to stop bootloops temporarily is batt pull.
So to summarize, recovery bootloop but never gets to recovery, adb can't connect, odin doesn't see the phone at ANY time, during recovery booting, d/l mode confirm screen, or short time of d/l mode screen itself, and I have no tarball to odin a twrp recovery in even if i could get odin going b/c they only offer img files now. Oh, and Kies doesn't even see the phone due to mods. ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Also, after batt pull, phone sits with blank screen even when on charger/usb and i get a vibrate every 3 seconds continuously.
:crying:
Suggestions?
I545 loki'd, TWRP (read post), HyperDrive 9.1 MDK (which I'd like to keep at nearly any cost)
TIA, for all your conisderation and previous, current, and future help! :good:
same exact problem on tmo
I tried to flash a cm nightly, and then tried to restore it. then this problem occured. any help?

This. Flashify is a really good app to use for flashing twrp and will even download for you.
But how are you supposed to use flashify if you're stuck in a boot loop.
twrp keeps booting into recovery mode, I can't get it to just load up my phone OS (CM12)
How do I get my phone to run.

I know this is a ghost thread, but my wife still uses an S4 and somehow it got into the configuration where it would only boot into recovery mode. This trick worked, in fact, I didn't even get the question about booting into download mode; it just booted normally.
