guys my x10 has been heating up a lot while i'm charging the damn thing.........i mean it goes as high as 52 degree celsius.......i'm worried .....i just wish it doesn't explode.....the guys at the se service centers said there's nothing to worry about ....anyone experiencing the same.....
plz help!!!!!
Yep its normal it happens usually if you have your screen display on while charging, or playing a game. Just keep it out in the open and not like under a pillow and screen off while charging and it should be fine.

omg!!!! mine just goes max to 42!! even then i get worried!!! lol 52 is HOT!!
Mine got scorching hot at times but when my phone broke I bought a new one and it doesn't get hot at all anymore. The battery also lasts literally six times longer (up to 24 hours with music, browsing and games).
Hey everyone
my phone gets heated up itself. Not very hot but slightly hot and it gets cooled itself. What could be the reason or can it damage the phone.
Thanks in advance.

Well, that sometimes happens to my LG P500, but I think it is normal.
Mine behaves the same way...
I think it becomes hot (warm we should say) mostly in 3G mode, especially when combined with tethering.
every smart phone heats up when doing a task for a continued amount of time. your phone will heat up while talking a call for more than 30 minutes, watching video (like a movie) downloading data via wifi, 3g and 2g. browsing the gallery for an extended amount of time.
but it is not the phone cpu that heats up. its the rapidly discharging battery.
lg p500 can heat up to a temperature of 55 degrees celcius while discharging and 44 while charging though the standard charger.
so dont worry, it is a normal phenomenon and the phone will not get damaged due to such heat.
Yh my p500 gets red hot if I use it a lot which is getting annoying
Our phones is really HOT.

Well said. Thanks for the info
You can try with an other battery. If the problem persist, is an phone issue...
If is 'hot' as 'I cannot keep the phone in my hands' probably is a phone issue. If it is 'warm' is just like any android more or less. But as DeuxEx says, just try another battery if you can. They cost 3-5$ each in ebay.

as all the above said, your being heated up is not unusual,
if you are overclocking, set a temperature profile
or take off the battery case and put it into the fridge for 3 minutes! (i really did this once )
hi all!
i recently noticed that while im watching some flash videos online (not the youtube one or the videos that the player can play) for about an hour or so that it drains my battery eventhough my phone is connected to the charger. (i didnt noticed how much but it really drained it)
i noticed this too when i got addicted at dungeon hunter. 1 hour of playing while charging and the battery got drained by 12%.
any one also experienced this?
is my battery broken?
i got my x10 last 2 months and bought it brand new and using stock rom and kernel with fps uncapped
Yeah mate, that's normal. I stream a lot of HD quality stuff, and am addicted to pocket legends.
Takes 5 hours non-stop videos and phone reaches 0%. Plugged in. Pocket legends with brightness on full and wifi connected lasts three. Again plugged in.
You can reduce brightness and volume to save some power, but that's it. I do have o/c to 1113 MHz so on stock it may last a little longer, but the o/c makes it smooth so that's better for me.
Also read omega reds post about battery optimization/calibration. I used it and got about a 20% boost in battery life.
Hope this helps.

thanks for confirming this.
i was about to buy a new battery thinking my battery now is broken
I've been using my i9300 S3 for a few days now and it seems to heat up on the lower back when using wifi/data extensively. It's not hot to cook an egg sort of thing, but it seems hotter than usual.
Any of you experience such issues?
Hello
I am first time android user. Even i noticed this. Please let me know if it's ok.
It feels normal to me though....but I guess extensive usage may increase heat, just like computers and other electronic devices
I noticed the heat issue a lot more when I just got the phone. It still warms up a bit but i would say it is normal.
Though it did get pretty hot on my last flight during take off that I had to turn it off. Didn't want my expensive phone to melt.

It's normal I wouldn't worry about it to much although it will get warmer if it is being charged while using the program.
I am facing a similar issue ! My question is what temperature is safe enough ? I mean I have used few battery info apps. I have got a temperature reading of around 42 - 43 degree Celsius ! Is it normal ?

Do you own a computer of any kind? Not even that, any electronic device... a TV, PC monitor, anything? Use it for a while, and then report back to me any changes in temperature....
Is quite normal as long as your palm doesn't feel uncomfortable with the heat.

S3 overheating
Krico is absolutely right. It happened this morning when I was charging thru a notebook using both devices at the same time. And the heat lingered on even though I unplugged it. So I switched it off and now it is back to normal. Tks.
The phone can get pretty hot using WIFI and 3g extensively or 3d games. This is normal, electrical components heat up after prolonged use, your computer heats up your tv heats up. As long as the phone isn't burning your hand or exceeding 60C you should be fine. My phone gets warm to the touch and noticeably heats up but doesn't get HOT, if your phone ever gets HOT, turn it off to avoid damage.
I use an app called temp cpu v2. It displays a few interesting stuff incl. battery temperature. There are probably other apps like this.
With wifi on I get around 26 degrees but it sometimes goes up to 50 (or a little more?) on 3d games using wifi.
While charging it gets a little hotter.
Is it normal, that the phone gets really hot, if i play some games !? i mean, sometimes it's so hot, that i can't touch the screen ...
Completely normal

Mine heats up like crazy if I just use Wi-Fi intensive applications (Skype etc) while charging!!
What about playing videos whilst charging? It heats up like a freshly baked pie!!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Of course it gets hot if you do anything CPU intensive for any length of time (even more so on charge). The CPU has no cooling, no effective heatsink & is in a very enclosed space near other components that also get hot (including the battery). It's not like a PC CPU which has at least one fan & a heatsink (and vents), not to mention plenty of clearance (compared to a phone at least) between components in a desktop PC at least which allows heat to dissipate better.

OC to like 1.4 GHz, OC GPU, Max screen brightness, charge and play graphic intensive games :good:
It's normal
I know this is an old thread, but I just started having this problem. I've had my Galaxy S2 since March 2013 but only in the past week as the phone been heating up and draining battery power to almost nothing in a matter of four or five hours. I used to be able to use the phone multiple times over the course of the day with no issue of heating or battery power, but ever since Friday 12/13 I've had this problem. It gets so hot I keep it off until I need it, and I'm used to keeping it turned on. Even keeping it in airplane mode doesn't keep it from heating up. I've had other Samsung Android phone users tell me of the same thing happening only in the past week, not before that. Any idea what it could be?
