I have updated my phone through all the superclean versions, and felt very comfortable with 2.4. I have 2 Fascinates that connect to the same exchange server, and I noticed that the calendar won't keep updates with exchange, mail and contacts are fine though. I did a little research and dropped one of the phones back down to SC DL30 1.0 I have no exchange issues with calendar on this version. I know this version is less stable and would like to run EB01 on both devices.
Is this calendar app the TW calendar or AOSP Calendar and is it possible to run it in place of the existing calendar on SC 2.4?
I just checked on mine, by default it appears that SC 2.4 doesn't have contacts(though they are on my phone from exchange) and calendar sync checked. I had to go in to the sync settings and check contacts/calendar.
After checking them my calendar did a sync and everything showed up.
edit: Double checked, as soon as I enter something on my OWA site it shows up on the phone now.

Yeah, I navigated through and checked those settings on both, they are checked, and in account settings it shows the date and time of the last sync, but the data just isn't in the calendar.

Hmm, that's odd. Mine is working perfectly fine on 2.4. It has some problems deleting appointments from phone when they are removed on the PC but I think that's more of a delay in processing.
When I add things it appears immediately.
Did you ever fix this problem?
I'm having the same problem. sync is checked on the settings but my calendar doesn't show my entries. email is syncing properly.
Never fixed it, the issue seemed to resolve itself with the newer builds.

I got syncing working between Outlook and the Google Calendar site ... so I can see all my events and such on the Google Calendar website.
What isnt working is the sync with my Tab 10.1 ... I can see the calendar name on the Tab (and it changes on the Tab almost immediately when I change the calendar name on the website) but none of the events ever sync down to the device.
I've tried removing my google account and setting it back up, tried just turning sync on/off, tried powering off/on ... any one else having this issue and/or solved it? Thanks.
I am having the same exact issues you are. When I'm out and about I set all my calander events on my evo. Non of them however transfer over to my tab. I made sure auto sync is on and even tried manually hitting the sync button but no dice. Its easier to view mybdaynahead on my tab. Hopefully next update take all GT 10.1s from a beta feel to a solid feel. On my second GT10.1 already :-(
" hang on to your dookie, its about to get spooky "
So between this issue and a few others I factory reset my SGT last night and magically the Google Calendar is working perfectly now (so far). :-/
Not sure if my answer apply, but I sync with exchange and that work fine at least.
I think I'm having the same issue, or at least I'm sure that the calendar widgets don't show all the synched appointments in my calendars...

the calendar widget is garbage, because it only displays your events for the week. download WIZZ from the market, it has a much better agenda widget.
My wife got this phone over this past weekend. The stock email app is not updating. She never receives her new emails on her phone. So I downloaded k9 app and it worked the first day. Now it is not syncing with her yahoo email account and always says she doesn't have any new emails. She can login to her email on a computer and has several new emails a day. Any ideas?
Im assuming youve been through the basics? Making sure mobile data is on, settings are set correctly in the app for refresh times, background data enabled, no task killers/managers running, etc.
Check Settings / Accounts and make sure the account(s) are set to sync and that they're allowed to sync in the background.
Although this may not be the answer to your issue,I had a similar experience w/the G-MAIL app recently.I tried everything, including downgrading to an older version of it.
I consulted w/other users & compared settings.Mine were identical, but, still had to manually refresh to see the new mail in my inbox.
The only thing that resolved this issue was a factory reset.Works fine now.
Additionally, while having this issue,I was unable to access the DATA SAVER settings page. When I selected it,it would just flash,as if it were trying to open, but,no can do.
Weird thing is that I only messed w/these settings on one occasion, when the phone was new, just to check it out(no need to limit data on an unlimited plan, right?).
Anyway, after the factory reset, everything is back to normal.
Just goes to show there is no perfect phone,O/S,or app,100% of the time.
So i'm not sure what happened, but all of a sudden as of a few days ago my email (stock mail app) has stopped syncing automatically and i can't seem to fix it. It will sync fine when opening up the app, but it doesn't seem to do it according to the schedule i have set, so i don't end up knowing i have emails unless i actually look.
anyone have any ideas? I've tried changing the schedule and that has done nothing. I have 3 email address all with different sync schedules and it seems like none of them are syncing automatically.
they used to work fine!
Mine did the same after about a week. Would only sync if you opened it.
Already disgruntled that there is no way to go from email to email without going back to your folder list I decided to use the standard email app instead.
Just copy the email.apk and exchange.apk from any aosp rom and put in the system/app folder and correct the permissions and reboot.
Haven't had any issues since but this will only help if rooted.

I had this issue too a couple of weeks ago, however, now it has gone away. I would try settings and then accounts & sync and make sure the mail account is listed and the auto-sync switch is on.
I had my hotmail setup through the new hotmail sync profile and it quit working recently. I deleted it and set it up under the email profile and it worked fine. I don't sync my MSN contacts or calendar anyway.

ha! that was it! somehow the auto-sync switch had been turned off. I dunno how, and i dunno how i didn't think to check this either! Thanks!
Been on Nil's Business Sense for months, no probs...
Today, out of the blue, my email no longer is syncing. I have verified it is still set to check every 5 minutes, and it was fine yesterday (and I have not been tinkering for months). Even rebooted, then powered off and did a battery pull when that didn't work...no good.
Mail only refreshes if I go into my mail folder now.
Any ideas?

Uncheck it from sync, recheck it, sync all, then you should be good

I tried this to no avail...did you mean somewhere else?
In mail, I went to:
Settings
Send & Receive
(tried un-checking inbox from sync - could not)
Update Schedule
changed frequency from 5 min to manual
exited to desktop, went back and re-set to 5 min.
Still does nto auto-sync my mail.
If from the desktop I go to settings - accounts and sync, then select my email, I get to the same place as above.
The only thing I have not tried is deleting my email account from Accounts and Sync, because it warned that doing so would delete all mail, contacts, etc.

Aha!
When I went back in that way again, I noticed the slider at the top for "Auto Sync" for everything was set to "off" (weather, mail, etc...)
The master sync switch also resides on one of my screens near my wifi button...must have accidentally turned it off from there.
Thanks!
Hey everyone, new to the DNA (bought last Friday) and I'm totally a fan. The phone is awesome. However I'm having an issue where I'm having to manually go in and sync my Gmail to the phone. It doesn't automatically pull the Gmail down. I've made sure that sync is set to auto and that all the correct boxes are checked.
Currently stock running 4.1.1 (Software Number: 2.04.605.2 71ORD)
Gmail App Version: 4.2.1
Any help would be greatly apprciated.
Thanks,
Brocja01
That's pretty weird I don't have any problems with gmail sync. Do you maybe have an app installed that is controlling sync times ?
Edit: I'm also on stock btw.

I thought maybe it was the sync notification app you install for Nova, so I un-installed it and rebooted. Still not working. I'd hate to have re-install everything.
I think you covered this in your first post but have you actually gone into accounts under the normal android settings and made sure that your Gmail is supposed to sync?
It sounds stupid but it's somehow happened to me a few times where the Gmail sync box was unchecked.

Nope, it is definitely checked. I'm wondering if it is something with my account. My nexus 7 isn't syncing either.
Try going into settings and apps then clear the data for gmail and then open the app back up to let it log you back in.

If you suspect it your account (which is unlikely), check on your computer to see if it syncs.
I'm getting emails on my computer just fine. It is just my two devices that I'm not getting mail on. Factory resetting my phone this morning, will see if does anything.
I've also added my secondary gmail account to the device and that one syncs, if I send an email to both accounts, i get a notification for my secondary account but I don't get one for my primary account. Any thoughts? Would this be something to hit google up on? Is there a number I could call?
Did you try clearing the app data like I suggested? This has happened to me before on different devices and clearing the data always fixed it for me.

Most definitely tried that, also factory reset the phone. Trying turning the auto sync on and off a few times and that didn't help either. It is the craziest thing. Which I could figure it out.
Obvious things to try that I'm sure you kick yourself if you forgot any one of them:
- Under the specific account settings:
- Notifications are indeed checked?
- Gmail sync is on
- Manage labels, Inbox and any other important labels are set correctly?
- Days of mail to sync are set to ~30 days?
I think those are probably an exhaustive list of on-phone options that would preclude syncing.
Yup, went through all those settings. Multiple times.
Did you hit the setting within the GMail app specifically?
I recently went through this because of the Snapdragon Battery Guru app. It shut off my GMail sync and I had a hell of a time finding out how to put it back on.
I had to open the Gmail app itself and go to:
Settings > [your email account] > Notifications (check box)
Settings > [your email account] > Gmail sync is ON
If that's not it, then I don't know what else could be the issue.
I am thinking that during initial setup you said NO to background syncing so just check this ..
Settings -> Accounts .. -> Auto Sync (SHould be ON)

definitely check that! i went a day without emails, and any notification. i thought it was weird, but didn't really pay much mind to it. then i noticed that i'd only get my whatsapp messages when i actually opened the app, i checked for autosync. somehow, it was off. it was working fine all along, and i have no idea how it got turned off. everything has been fine since, though, so definitely double check that
