I found on these forums before that unlinking your YouTube account from your Google account stops any login problems and lets you login to your account through the Data Services tab in Settings.
However, Google have changed their policy so you're forced to link your Google and YouTube accounts when you login on your computer. Now whenever I try to login on my phone, nothing happens. I enter my username and password and when I click Login, it just goes back to the previous screen with the Youtube slider still set to Off. I'm using the right password as if I spell it wrong on purpose, I get an error message telling me that the password is wrong.
I've been searching the forums for an answer to this and cant seem to find one, does anyone else have any idea what tod do? I liked having the upload to youtube feature but I can't do this now.
Thanks.
Got this exact same problem and would love a fix if there is one?
Same problem here as well, hopefully a fix comes along
Same Issue
WTF is that all about? I don't know what annoys me more, incompetent back end admins or the money people/merger managers who merge everything and think data magically goes together all the time flawlessly!
I have this same issue and I forcefully unlinked my account and it wont let me get into it online but at least I can upload from my phone.
I hope Google fixes this soon!
I have the same problem in my Blackstone! Nothing happens in account manager and directly after I recorded a video (youtube share)

Hello everyone,
I have a problem uploading photos to my picasa account from my sgs2. Syncing emails, contacts and calendars works pretty fine. I can also see my picasa web-albums in the gallery app and they are up to date, but when I try to upload a photo to picasa I always get the error "authentication failed".
I already removed my google account on the phone and added a it again with another application password, but the error stays the same.
The same with other applications in the market for uploading photos to a picasa account (Picasa Tool, JustPictures!). With these apps I can also view my web albums, but uploading always fails.
Does anyone else experience this error? Does it have to do something with the latest security issue of android phones (being able to steal authentication in open wifi) and the google fix? Because just two weeks earlier it worked fine with my HTC Desire. Or am I just doing something wrong?
I had the same issue with the picasa app which is already installed.
I got the 'picasa tool' from the android market which worked fine after loggin in with the google account.
Thanks for reply!
I found my problem and could resolve it!
My picasa album reached the maximum image limit (1000), so every uploaded image was rejected and all applications gave an authentication error. When I tried to upload a photo over the web interface I got another error from google "server rejected" and searching for it told me that I could have reached my limit.
Well, it would be helpful if these applications could tell the user that the album possibly reached the limit.
Anyway, I hope I can help other people who run into the same problem.
I had a similar issue that I wanted to share. The issue started after I installed Google authenticator. Everyday (usually once a day, hard to reproduce), I would get a sign in error, which would make me put in a human readable word to correct it.
Looking into it more, found that it would put error next to 'Sync Picasa Web Albums' (Settings -> Accounts & Sync) and state that it is temporarily unavailable but would never come back. This would also make the albums I have on Picasa unavailable on my phone. After removing authenticator, I would still get the same issue. VERY annoying.
I tired everything I could think of: Changing passwords, wiping the phone, forcing log out on every device accessing Google services...
Then I went to Picasa settings and disabled Analytics for my account and updated the setting. BAM... Worked ever since.
I hope this helps someone later.
Other details that may help: Evo 4G, running CyanogenMod-7.0.3.1
I searched around and have not found anyone posting with the same issue but I cannot figure it out.
In the notifications section at the top of my touchpad there is constantly a message from google.
It has the g icon and it says "Google Web login required."
I tried signing in to every google option I could find and even went on to my gmail account through the browser and nothing I do removes this message....
Anyone have any suggestions?
try removing your google account from account settings and readding it.
I've had the same issue and you need to unlock your google account using the captcha. Just google "google captcha" and unlock the account.
you don't have two step authentication enabled on your google account do you?
have the same issue and did the whole unlock thing and still have the issue. And no I do not have 2 step verification nor do I want it. If that is going to be a requirement to use an email client then screw gmail I will go back to just using yahoo which is my main email. What is with google and making things anti user, they have to make everything so convoluted. All yahoo does is similar to what my bank does when I add a new billpay, just sends a confirmation email with a link to disable it if you did not add it. Got that when I added my yahoo email to my touchpad, and it is working fine. But no google has to have their 2 step verification, sorry I do not want that hassle, even if it is just once a month, its complete overkill.
anyway, I just set it to update manual only so I don't get that annoying message every 2 minutes if I keep getting it will just delete the account, still working fine on my android phone.
Hey all, I have stock,non-rooted,locked, OTA'd rezound.
I've tried everything in the general forums for this problem, so now I'll come here and ask to see if anyone has any other possible solutions.
I've done multiple factory resets today, and tried several different methods of re-adding my google account (which is a google apps for your domain account) so it's not @gmail.com but @mydomain.com
Everything works great, sync, gmail app, gtalk, youtube.. you name it. Great. Even the market place, for downloading 'free' apps.
As soon as I try and download an app I have to pay for I get a little window that pops up that says "Google sign-in You entered the wrong password or your account has changed. Please re-enter your password. Username [email protected]" and then just fails to accept my actual password. (i've tried changing my password a few times too!)
Here's everything I've tried:
1. Clearing the Market App Data and Cache.
2. FactoryReset: try and use the old market app before it gets updated.
3. Youtube account issue: disabled the youtube service on my google app domain, and factory reset- and tried again... no dice.
4. Tried putting on a real @gmail.com domain, and that works just fine. try and switch to @mydomain and it fails again.
I've done a factory-reset before every different style of attempt. I'm guessing something else is going on :-\
When I logon to the market through the web, I can purchase apps and they install without a problem! So it's something to do with the market app.
Anyway, just looking for any other ideas I may have overlooked. You're a pretty thorough community so I think I can trust you all would have something for me to try!
Before my factory-reset, everything worked fine with my google apps domain account.
TL;DR: My google apps domain account I normally use won't let me purchase apps on the marketplace anymore, it says the password has changed but all other google services work just fine!
I remember reading something way back when I first got the phone in late November about people having issues with the Market app. I never had an issue so I didn't pay much attention to it but you should be able to find a thread about it from back then.
Something about using a different apk? Or maybe deleting the app and redownloading it?
Sorry I don't have the actual answer but I thought I could at least point you in the right direction until someone else does.
EDIT: This may not be the same issue but one of the solutions that suggests to clear cache may help you. Can't hurt to try it out.
posted by danutzz: Open app drawer > tap menu button > click remove app > click all > find market and click > click clear cache and clear data...

Are you using Google Two-Step login verification?
Did you accidentally leave yourself logged in to another computer, like at work, where somebody else might have gained access to your account?

Great questions:
No I've turned 2-step verification off.... what if I turn it on, and try and get a different password out of it? I'll give it a go.
Account is definitely not compromised. good to go here.
Break Through Achieved...
My Google Wallet account has been suspended, because when I changed my password I used the google domains administrator panel, and not my google account 'change password'. this made google think the administrator changed the password because the account was compromised.
google wallet has a lengthy but acceptable process for regaining access to your account.
I'll go update all the general forums with this if it works... thanks for all your patience.
Also, google.com/wallet shows a good explination of why all other apps work fine, and not purchases...
Google Wallet Account Reinstatement
Your Google Wallet account is currently suspended. The account was suspended as a precautionary measure to protect your payment information because Google detected that an administrator at your organization initiated a password reset for your email address. However, this suspension only affects your access to Google Wallet, and you should still have access to your other Google Apps services such as Gmail, Calendar, and Sites.
If you would like to reinstate Google Wallet on your Google Apps account, please contact us. You will be required to verify your identity to reinstate your Wallet account.
You may also wish to sign up for a new Google Wallet account using a personal e-mail address, rather than your Google Apps account. Creating a new Wallet account using a personal email address will reduce future suspensions of your Google Wallet account for password changes. If you don't have an alternative email address, you can create a new email address with Gmail for free.

I'm having the same problem (using google apps account, admin reset password, no purchasing market apps etc etc)
When I log in to google wallet, I see the message you posted above, with a link to click to contact google. However, this link just redirects endlessly to the same message.
Can you remember how you managed to get in contact with google to have the suspension lifted?
Thanks
Sul

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I just emailed Google wallet help support telling them the problem and by the next day I got a reply saying something like "we can now confirm that your Google wallet is now working and able to make purchases" Sure enough they fixed it and haven't had a problem since.

Where did you even email them? It's like an endless loop on their help center where you can't get to an actual contact form, just has to match one of their issues. I swear while I like a lot of google services, their support leaves very little to be desired.
I'm having difficulties signing into skype using my Asus transformer prime tablet.
I used to be able to sign in before but lately it hasn't been working, it says the skype does not recognize my password or something? has a red ! beside both my sign in ID and password.
I double checked this multiple times on my desktop version of skype and it works.
Also I cannot sign in or participate in google hangout video chats anymore, I was only able to do this once successfully but it lagged and decided to restart my tablet ever since then it hasn't worked.
Also got a different message few days later
Cannot connect to Skype
You cannot be signed in at this time. Please check your mobile network settings and try again.
This has been ongoing for almost two months now, please help!
Please help I don't even know where to start.
I did a factory reset, reinstalled skype multiple times, cleared data/cache
I am also having problem login to skype. Accually not even sure I manage to login with my skype account. However, after merging with msn account and login with it I have never experience that problem anymore. You can try to merge with an msn account if you got one else create one to go around this problem for now.
My son has a Samsung S7. Several months back his Gmail account was closed and we have no idea how or why. I had 2-step verification turned on to my own phone, so if any changes were to be made, I should have got a text message about it. I don't know how long it was from the time it was closed to the time he told me about it. I had tried doing an account recovery but Google refused. I tried writing into Google, but they gave me a canned response about how to do an account recovery and never bothered responding any more after I had said I had tried that already, and written in many times over asking what was going on. All of his game accounts were connected to that email address, including Steam and others, which caused a lot of problems. Now we are facing an even bigger one. As I mentioned, he has a Samsung S7. It was also connected to this closed Gmail account and now we have no access to any of the settings or anything else with it. I tried to do a factory reset to try to clear this, but when it started it asked for the account again. This account does not exist, and it seems like it was closed by Google themselves. How do I fix this?
