[Q] Sim Pin

Hello there,
So i've had my x10 for a while, learnt the basis of using rom's and such. But i've recently that on some rom's the sim pin is never asked and therefore I get no connection.
Would this have something to do with the rom?
For example;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015765
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009220
and a few others. Although, strangely some other rom's do work such as;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947613
Any idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance!
I have had the same problem, but for me it has not been that it does not ask for a PIN, it has been because the baseband is not recognized by the rom. To get it working I have either had to reflash with another baseband (the one recommended by the ROM dev) or by starting "Dev Tools" (included with most of the dev-roms) and select "Bad Behavior"/"Crash the system server". This will reboot the phone and after the reboot the baseband has been recognized and the ROM has asked for a SIM pin.
I'll give that a try, thanks.
Changing to the based band .49 it now works.

Atrix keeps restarting when making a phonecall

ok this phone a brand new, i can receive calls and text but when i dial a number and try to make a call the phone restarts
This is factory unlocked and not rooted
Try flashing a newer radio rom.
I dont want to root it incase i cant get the original rom back.
It is weird as, i have tried with every sim card to make calls and it works but when i put the 3 sim in does plays up
We experienced the same issue on some Turkish networks as well and flashing a newer radio rom fixed the problem. Flashing roms and rooting are totally different. What you need is a newer version of your current baseband ( radio rom ) sbf and official motorola software flasher " RSD Lite 5.3 "
Hope it helps.
Thank you so much for that Semseddin.
My problem solved, i just flashed it using RSD lite 4.9
Thanks everyone
Hi. I've been having the exact same issue. I've got an unlocked AT&T Atrix and I'm trying to use a Three UK sim (I'm in the UK). I'm a bit new to the world of android, can someone post a link to an appropriate Radio Rom?
Thanks for any help!!
OK after a little more web searching I've found a (sort of) solution -
"Here's a quick fix for it thou, (not permanent)....
1. type *#*#4636#*#* on the dialer
2. Chose Phone Information
3. Set preferred network to GSM only
Viola...its fixed
problem with this fix is that you wont be able to use your 3G network but the dialer should be working."
Problem is of course that you can't use your 3G connection. Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

Why is it always 3 that cause a problem?
When the Nokia N900 came out, that wouldn't work with 3 initially until a couple of updates later!

[Q] [Problem]GSM Internet data not working

Hello.
Here is my problem.
In fact, my gsm Internet connection used to work fine but recently, in the last updates, i have data situations. My Internet connection is blocked even whith the HSDPA icon.
I tried to fix this problem by:
-Doing wipes (factory, cache) reset
-Installing different recent roms
-Installing different kernel
My problem is not from my ICS upgrade. It came largely after.
Do you have any ideas how to fix this problem?
All of them are welcome.
My actual rom is Litening 2.7 rom under the 3.0.15-9100XXLPS-CL294511 CWM kernel.
My baseband is 9100XXLPS
I'm under android 4.0.3 ICS
I'm rooted.
Thanks for your help.
Edit:
I kept a backup of an older rom. When i restore it, the Internet GSM Works again. But the problem stay with the most recent roms. I want to keep beeing updated.
I'm in france under the operator Orange.
Correct IMEI ???
jje
Yes. I compared between the state in "About the phone" and under the battery. It's the same code.
No ideas at all??
Sounds like incorrect APN settings to me.
Maybe. Because sometimes when i try to search Network Operators, the phone keep searching until i use the touch "go back". But i have no idea how to fix.
Detail: My phone number is displayed as unknown. Everything works: Call, sms, i have the icon E,3G,H. But when i use the Internet navigator, i have the Orange(Operator) website which tell me that my phone is not compatible with the Internet connection. Sometimes, i have another website which suggest me to pay for an Internet connection. But i already pay an Internet connection. (Vultures)
Edit: Never Mind. Problem solved.

[Q] Unknown baseband after radio flash

Guys I need urgent help. I have flashed 38p radio on my Atrix and now it is reporting unknown baseband and IMEI. Cell service and data doesn't work anymore. I have tried flashing other radios, and even the old one that was working is not working anymore. I always get an unknown baseband error. Is there any way I can fix this? Everything else works on the phone.

I had similar problem. My phone was unable to find the Baseband and the IMEI no. My network was not displaying though the WiFI was working. I was just rooted and installed CM7 as per their site instruction.
The final verdict to fix the issue was to install the Radio Base Band zip "baseband-N_01.77.37P.zip" and isntall as update zip option from recovery menu. Now every thing is working.
double restart
two important thing:
1. its important to try all Radios and find the best one that fit to your device\carrier.
2. another thing that important is that after flashing a new radio, you need to restart your device, twice.
sometimes one restart is enough, but in other times , if you dont make double restart - its simply not connected.

Pocophone f1 Won't turn on WIFI and wont read SIM card - stuck in Android setup

Hi all,
I am completely stuck with this, I couldnt get any wifi it wouldnt turn on and when I did it just turned off again. It also wont read my sim card and randomly restarts.
I tried factory resetting but its now just stuck getting me through the android setup and needs internet in order for me to register the account that I previously used on the phone, otherwise it wont let me pass. It wont turn on wifi still and still doesnt register my sim card.
Please help as I have been trying this for hours and Im honestly at the end of my rope.
Cheers,
Evan
update:
I have tried,
factory reset
Flashing the rom,
downgrading,
upgrading,
wiping everything and putting latest miui again,
used twrp for running a recovery.
None of this has worked - all came to the same problem
So i believe that I found the issue. I managed to actually get in to the phone without needing to login to my mi account after a long few hours troubleshooting. Managed to boot in to miui 9.
I can see that my IMEI numbers are showing as UNKNOWN
I am going to see if I can find the box for my phone and then get the imei numbers back in the EFS file using miracle box
** :UPDATE 2.0: **
Hi.
So I am now witnessing really strange behavior.......
The phone will reboot ocassionally. Ive not recorded a pattern but every now and again it will register the SIM card but wont turn on the wifi.
The IMEI numbers will show, the base band version will show and the mac address. But I dont think they are correct.....
----------
Its showing
IMEI (SLOT1):
868xxxxxxxxx333
IMEI (sv1)
00
IMEI (SLOT2):
868xxxxxxxxx341
IMEI (sv2)
00
----------------------------
Baseband version:
Will update on next reboot that shows it as I didnt manage to capture the data when it did actually appear
----------------------------
Mac address:
02:00:00:00:00:00
I don't think some of this is correct.....
Like the mac address.... It doesnt look right to me.....
Anyone help with these symptoms?
It wont actually connect to any network still when it shows these details and after a short few minutes will restart and show them as unknown again.
Kind regards,
Evan
Try fastboot rom

Try with a fastboot rom flashing via miflash...this will fix all system issues. You can search in xda for fastboot rom links .it ends with .tgz
Thanks

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP THIS IS STRESSING ME OUT SO MUCH, I JUST WANT MY PHONE TO WORK AGAIN
@Mod plz can you recommend anyone to help me out??
The fastboot rom is different from the one that use to be flashed with twrp. Did you given a try with fastboot rom? Internet is required while flashing with miflash as it uses your mi account. Don't loose hope.
Thanks.

Have you tried flashing with the MiFlash tool? Or is this what you meant by fastboot?
I know this isn't the help you're looking for but if you need your phone to work just take it to a service center. It'll cost money off course, but they'll help you. Some service centers do it within a few minutes
The same problem than me
Hello Evoku, how r u?
Sorry for my poor English, but I'm from Brazil.
Look what a coincidence. By the same day your first post my pocophone f1 presented the same problem than yours. I am searching for a solution and now I found this forum.

Try the persist fix. If that doesnt help, i doubt that some box will, as it appears to be a hardware issue..
Hi guys, some problem to me and I just fix it.
I noticed that if the phone is switched off for at least 10 minutes then wifi and SIM card are working for some minutes before stop. I used this time to unlock the bootrom, install the TWRP, root the phone and backup the EFS partition ready to apply the "Super guide: Persist file the magical file". On TWRP I noticed that I don't have the persist partition for the magical file. Anyhow I powered on the phone and now WiFi and SIM card are working properly! Hope this helps.
