Has anyone got touch to talk working on a O2 UK sim? I've rang O2 and asked them to send my MSISDN number to my phone but they have no idea what i'm on about. Is there anyway I can program this on my sim myself?
I understand I can use touch to talk through facebook but I would prefer the other method.

Ok I need help, this is my first time goin on a cruise with an at&t device(last time was with t-mobile) does anybody have advice as far as using the device outside of the country, cause at times ima wanna text friends, check facebook, and maybe get a few useful apps from the market. When I was with tmobile I was using my phone on the boat and didnt have any extra charges, I used tethering(which was free since I was rooted) cause wifi wasn't free(sucks!), but idk about at&t, can anybody let me kno if I should use my phone or not

First shipment to O2 was probably unlocked, subsequent shipments seem to be locked. This quite often happens when supply is limited initially.

Can someone confirm that you can see if the phone is unlocked on the spot when you go and buy from O2 in-store. As in you can open it and check.
I assume you can but I just want to make sure. This is my first time buying a phone in the UK and I inted to use on 3 or giffgaff depending on the quality (and reliaiblty) of the 3G signal.

Unlocked out of the box and working with T-Mobile contract SIM.
Purchased a hour ago from O2 store on London Wall.
Got it from store, it is locked.
Picked mine up from the Winchester store on PAYG about an hour ago, and is working perfectly with my Vodafone SIM.
Note that I put this SIM straight in, without ever switching it on with an O2 SIM -- not sure if it does something weird like lock itself to the first SIM that's ever in it?
Mines locked on contract . I put my tmob sim in straight away but it came up with request for code, then emergency calls only. Ive rung 02 already and requested unlock code - they say 7 to 10 working days. In no real rush, as I have my desire z

Recieved mine, it's brill.
Bought on an O2 contract (ordered Monday) and it is unlocked out of the box
Well I got mine on d 27th at phones4u, but they only had 1 left and they still offered it to me on orange, vodaphone or o2. So I'm guessing it's unlocked. Haven't been able to check yet tho, I've only got orange sim cards in me gaff.

Yes. You can use a straight talk sim with any android phone. I used to. I don't recall settings offhand. Go to my profile and search threads started by me. I posted a guide somewhere with all the settings.

Thanks! What if someone bought an e71 smartphone activated it and just returned the phone. Would they even know that you didn't bring the sim back? Most of the people working at wal mart don't have a clue. Dishonest :yes but would be cheap. Wouldn't they just send the phone back .

Sucks but the phone is tied to the sim. If you did that it would deactivate your sim. Find one cheap on ebay (make sure it's a ST). Call em up to activate, they'll send you a new SIM, throw phone in drawer put in whatever phone you want. I previously had mine trimmed and used in an iPhone 4 before switching to the Atrix.

Can you use any Straigt Talk phone that is gsm with the motorola atrix ? or does it have to only be the nokia e71?

I am using the Atrix with a nokia e71 sim. From everything I read (I did quite a bit of web-research) the e71 is the only GSM phone anyone has had any success with.
Just wanted to know if this is possible and can I use the internet ans MMS. Any help would be appreciated

You have to sim unlock the phone first. You could try to call ATT but being out of the country might make it difficult. Or you could follow the instructions in this thread:

I have replied in the PO you gave me, but in case I'll post it here too.

I turned the phone off then insert the sim card, after that booted to recovery and flashed the modem and then I turned the phone on and clicked DISMISS and went to the dailer and insert this code *#197328640#, but The screen didn't change to the hidden menu as it said in the PO!!
What did I make wrong?!
You can call them from another country. I called from a land line in Germany to get my Captivate's code.
What do they need? Because the box is in my apt in USA and I just have the phone; my friends lives in my apt btw.
Also, I bought the phone from ebay not from a store; Is it going to be any problem?!
I bought the phone IN Germany from a guy in my group. No problems getting the code, nor when I called back because the local mifi sim I tried didn't work.
Ok, gonna try and call them, but what should I do with the modem I installed?Because currently I'm facing some lag and I think it's because the modem!!
Install the original modem back if you are not going to sim unlock your phone this way.

You should not go off flashing and installing things if you really don't know what you are doing. You have an ATT Note so flash an ATT Radio. There is the UCLF6 that was included with the released ATT ICS 4.0.4 and the newer UCMB4 that was just released in an update. Both are available on the forum with a simple search.
