Checked the other threads suggested but no luck
I have recently bought an HD2 WP6.5 which was unlocked by TMobile (UK) & subesquently debranded by me using Active Sync, HSPL2 & the LEO 1.66 RUU.
Everything seems fine but can I now upgrade to the new official 3.14? I have downloaded it from the HTC site but worried about damaging the phone.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place - I'm new to this sort of thing!
Thanks
hspl4 - 3.03.hspl - flash 3.14 rom from usb.

Thanks for that
I'm not very technical - do you mean download HSPL4 then install 3.03 from that then flash 3.14, essentially the same as I did above but with the programs you indicated?
Thanks
Junks
EDIT: Just tried doing that & it did nothing.
Downloaded HSPL4 & ran it, tried to run 3.03 but it rebooted & still showing 1.66 - is this because I have 1.66.HSPL & not 0000?
Thanks
Phone into bootloader (power off, hold and keep holding volume down, tap n release power keep vol pressed till coloured striped screen, do all your flashing from here)
Into bootloader, connect USB, wait for word,"serial" to become "USB"
On PC,right click hspl4.exe and choose run as administrator,
What happens? What does it say in Bootloader? (Top line and spl line) before and after please.
Ah didn't know about that!
Right done that & it now says SPL-3.03.HSPL XE so obviously it did work as above I just didn't know how to check it!!
It shows:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-3.03.HSPL XE
0x05
Cotu11aHSPL 0x40
USB
So just run 3.14 on the PC now - do you have a link so I get the correct one?
Sorry to be a pain
Edit: This is the one I downloaded from HTC _HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship
That rom is 1.48,,, see the sets of numbers?
_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28. 50.07U_2.05.51.05_2
Ver 1.48.405.2, with radio 2.05.51.05.
That's an ooold rom. There's at least 1 thread with all the 3.14 roms in it.
I saw that & thought it looked strange - put a WWE serial in the HTC & got that but I must have done something wrong as I've just done it again & the file now says 3.14!
Oh well all done now & seems to be working ok - thanks for your help, much appreciated
Just looking forward to using the phone now & ditching the annoying iPhone
Hehe it can be temperemental, bit like an 80's super car, terrible cars, but great none the less. I'm buying another for when this one dies.

Hello all... tried to be a little geek and installed a custom Rom (Artemis V32 with radio 2.12.50.02_2) and that went ok. Then I copied an Android version to my sd card, and that went also ok.
Then I installed a bootloader so I could choose Android or WM, that went ok too.
But since then I had some regular crashes in Android and also with WM.
I decided to install a stock Rom (found via Usenet; Stock ROM (NLD) 1.72.172.0 met radio 2.07.51.22_2 en SPL-1.66.0000 ) and things went bad.
I have tried all kinds of things so resolve the issue:
- Put the stock rom on the sd card (formatted fat32, size 4gig) and renamed it to loeimg.nbh and started it up with the volume button down: no success
Message:
PB1100 HX-BC
SPL-1.66.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
- Connected the hd2 with the original cable to my pc (Windows 7 Ultimate, and tried also WinXP SP3) and tried to install it via the .exe file from another stock rom I downloaded via the HTC website. No succes, the software starts-up, I can click yes, next, click yes again at "I completed the steps indicated above" and then I get the screen current information about your pda phone Image version does not mention any version at this point.
If I then click on update I get the screen that says from image version: to image version.
The from version is not filled in, so I think the fault has something to do with this.
After I clicknext 2 times I get the progress screen, but nothing happens then anymore. It keeps showing 0%
If anyone can help me out with this it would appreciate it a lot! And if you need any additional info, please let me know...
Thanks in advance,
Friendly greetings...
you no longer have hspl installed. It was removed by the (failed) stock rom from sd card flash attempt. In bootloader, see your spl ends .0000? that tells you hspl is gone.
Manually enter bootloader, connect usb, count to 20, run hspl2(right click run as administrator), choose 2.08.hspl.
When it completes, re enter bootlaoder (hold down vol as the phone restarts at 100%), wait for bootloader, wait for the word serial -> usb, run your rom flash over usb.
Thanks for the quick reply... as soon as I'm back home I'm going to try it out.. I'll post the result here..
something similiar happened to me some months ago..
should work
DN41
oh, and the reason the "from version" is blank is because that is read from the registry, but we put the phone in bootloader ourselves first so it can't see the registry. that's also why when you flash radios you see rom version info there. it can be ignored.
Do not forget to remove loeimg.nbh from your memory card before trying to flash under windows.
Thanks for the reactions... great to know I am not alone in this...
I performed the actions as described and I got the message "we hacked it"
I then tried to install a stock rom I downloaded but my phone turned off then at 11%
I have the idea that my battery is not loading anymore as I can't see the orange led burning when connected to the adapter/computer.
Ordered a new battery yesterday evening and will receive it normaly/hopefully today by mail. Then I will try again and share the results.
Thanks again all for the great support so far...
check the battery pins closely, hundreds of people have bent them poppng the battery out.
Ok, checked the connection of the pins.. these are ok I think.
Battery-led is still not showing went connected to usb.
So now my screen states the following:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CottulaHSPL 0x40
What rom can I now install? Only an official one?
I tried to download an official rom from the htc website (after inserting my serial), but when I run the
RUU_Leo_Vodafone_NL_1.72.172.0_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship it shows a message that the file is corrupt.. and this for about 6 times now...
I feel the noob-level is rising extremely now...

.hspl means hspl is installed so you can flash any rom.

all i can say is try another rom. just stick to usb flashing, protect hspl.
My ultimate goal is to put Gingerbread on my phone Via the NAND Method.
I am starting with the latest version of the windows ROM from the HTC website for 02.
First I added HSPL3 to my phone so when I hold the VOL Button and Power I load to HSPL screen with version 2.08.HSPL. I presume this is correct.
Now I upgrade the radio to 2.08.50.XX I still only have 448RAM, how do i get this to 576RAM so i can install MAGLDR 1.11
You do not actually need the 576 in order to flash to Android, you only need to have a radio that enables the 576. In order to actually get it to show you need the correct radio together with a rom that "unlocks" the extra ram. As long as you have 2.08.hspl and a 50 series radio of at least 2.08.50 then you're good to go. You also should head over to the correct forum before someone flames you (ie this one is for winmo ). Refer to the link in my signature on Flashing NAND Android roms and you will get all of the necessary steps there.
not exactly true... you need to have HSPL and correct Radio to enable 576MB RAM - SPL3.03 that comes with 3.14 ROM doeas not enable 576MB RAM - I have tried that.
(Same Person was borrowing Stephiepea account to post my question)
Cheers Clyde for the help, i'm obviously a Newb when it comes to this. I tried to install MAGLDR 1.11 to my phone by your method and once it completed on my phone it rebooted but not to the boot loader, it just loadedto the O2 boot screen and stayed there didn't even boot to windows mobile again.
Daekin can you give me in laymans terms what HSPL and Radio I NEED differently to the ones I indicated in my first post.
I've also tried loading a custom "Energy" Rom then tried loading MAGLDR and again it boots to the NRG sting and stays there. please someone help. ive been trying for days.
Incase it helps when I boot to HSPL my screen info is
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
Try MAGLDR 1.12 and the included latest radio (2.15.50.14).
1. Connect by USB to the PC.
2. Hold down volume button and power up to get in 4 color screen, make sure it says USB at the bottom.
3. Flash the new radio.
4. Hold down volume button and power up to get in 4 color screen, make sure it says USB at the bottom.
5. Flash MAGLDR.
6. Hold the powerbutton down to enter MAGLDR.
7. Choose option 5 to USB flash a ROM (by using volume down button again).
It worked for me, I've also 2.08HSPL.
For the MAGLDR and radio check your PM.
GL!
Thanks Eric,
I havn't recieved anything via PM but I downloaded MAGLDR 1.12 and the same happens. I get stuck on the O2 Splash screen.
things i've tried:-
HSPL3 - Tried to install this, I get The success message apear on my PC but not the we hacked it message on my phone, is this because I already had a HSPL on my phone.
I've tried multiple radios with .50 which shoul alow the 576MB RAM but my phone never shows this only the 448MB RAM in the Device infomation.
After both the above, my phone boots back to windows.
then I try MAGLDR once it completes I boot to the O2 Splash screen and never progress to the bootloader or windows, even if reboot and hold down the power button.
Hmm, that doesn't sound well.
Maybe you can try to flash with a custom WinMO rom first, like Energy.
I had the Energy Rom installed before I used MAGLDR.
You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
I think it should also flash with the 4 color bootscreen connected to USB.
After flashing a custom rom try to flash with MAGLDR again.
Hope it works, GL!
edit: I don't know if mine says 576 ram, because I don't know how to check that in WP7, which s*cks anyway.
Any STOCK ROM with a .50 Radio will NOT enable the 576MB RAM
You need a CUSTOM ROM (576MB trick enabled) with a .50 Radio to enable the 576MB RAM

Wrong! sorry guys i had to jump in here because there is some crap advise being given.
First off the latest wwe (not o2 branded) does enable the extra ram (as do all tmous roms). Where do you think radio 2.15.50.14 came from? secondly AFAIK (and i could be wrong here and i haven't checked it) magldr wipes the nand chip when it is installed therefore all you will ever see after a magldr install is the boot splash unless you reboot the phone and then install wp7 or android (wm6.5 is not yet supported but will be in magldr 1.13)
What the op has done up until he expected windows to boot was good. All he needs to do is install magldr 1.12, reboot holding down the power key and then follow the instructions for installing android to nand.
Handily, using google, i found this link. That should sort you out. I also found this video. Half of what comes out of his mouth at the start is rubbish but the actual steps are good.
Hi all,
I've installed the latest official ROM (World Wide English (WWE) 3.14.405.2) downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283 and also co0kie home tab 2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792303 on my HD2.
At the beginning everything OK but when time goes on (right now it is second week) it starts to slow down to almost freeze in several cases!! any idea?
By the way, 80% of program memory is always occupied!
Thanks
Go into bootloader, look at spl line.
if it DOESN'T say 3.03.0000 or 3.03.hspl then that's the problem,, use hspl4 and choose either of those.
Thanks, but could you help me more detailed on what you recommended? I've no idea what you're talking about?! Sorry for that
I'm not expert about this.
By the way, would this method remove all information (i.e. contacts, sms and ...)?
Thanks in advance
power off phone
press, hold and KEEP HOLDING volume down key
press and release power
KEEP HOLDING VOL DOWN
when striped coloured screen appears, that is bootloader, , now you can let go of volume down.
What does the 'spl' line say?
It says:
SPL-1.42.HSPL XE
What should I do now?
See? If you had read and understood post 2 it would be fixed by now
so you haven't got the right spl to run 3.14, just like I mentioned in post 2, it needs to be 3.03.xxxx for 3.14 and you have 1.42.xxxx
Enter bootloader, run hspl4 choose 3.03.0000 or 3.03.Hspl and reboot.
Thanks, but the problem is I've no idea "how to run hspl4"!!! Should I download something and install it on my HD2?
I've found this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477) and I think it has a full guide for this!
Thanks for your help,
After installing this new HSPL4 should I install the ROM again?

All you have to do is put hour phone into bootloader (multicolor screen) by holding the vulume down button down as your HD2 is booting up. Connect your HD2 via USB to the computer wait for the computer to install the drivers if they are (if they are not already) then you will see the Serial change to USB in the white bar of bootloader. When you see USB right click on the HSPL.exe and select run as administrator. The DFT utility will ask what version you want to install, it will be on 2.08 as default. Click on the little arrow to make the drop down box come down and select either 3.03.0000 or 3.03. The .0000 is regular SPL and the 3.03 is HSPL. And no you do not have to reflash the ROM but I would sugest a hard reset just to be safe.
Thanks guys,
Now the memory usage dropped down to below 50%!!! Let's see if there would be freezes or not
there is a method for reinstall the original radio or fake original radio? (i don't know if this is his name)..
i talk about...:
telephone just turn off -> press "call down/power down" + "vol down" and it's say me a HSPL eec ecc by cotulla...
now, i have reinstalled the WM 6.5 ROM because the android give me various problem... and this problems persist.. so i want send my telephone to repair because it is still in warranty...
they watch the radio installed? or provide only to repair the telephone?
thanks in advance.
are you on about getting rid of the hspl? you need to rerun the hspl and select the one that isnt hspl
where i can find the program for remove hspl?
on my screen it's written:

This will have already installed the correct radio
No, the radio isnt important for warranty, only that its a stock rom, and MOST IMPORTANT hspl is not there.
SO, depending what stock rom you flashed (since you didnt tell us) you need to run hspl.exe and set teh correct spl
SO, if you flashed stock rom version 3.14, you must run hspl4.exe and choose 3.03.0000
if you flashed any other version, run hspl2.exe and set 1.66.0000
If you have a tmous (t mobile USA) then use hspl4.exe to set 2.08.0000 or 2.10.0000 or (if you flashed ver 3.14 rom) 3.03.0000
thanks for support.. now... mmm... i not remember which stock rom i have installed on my HD2.. :s ... how can i see the number of the version?
i think is this:
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_ITA_3.14.408.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe
but i have also
RUU_Leo_HTC_ITA_1.66.408.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
and not remember which i have installed.. sure, i have downloaded the first up.. but maybe, in confusion, i have installed the second... (it was on my pc since july)
ps
it's not tmobile , it's a normal version not branded by telephone companies.
it was buyed in Italy, so EU - not USA.
When the phone boots, and you get the splashscreen, look at the info bottom of screen, R G D that's the radio ver, rom ver and protocol (don't need this)
ok, here we are my screen:
R 2.15.50.14
G 15.42.50.11U
D 3.14.04666
what does it's mean? which hspl and what also i have to install? i'm really newbie about all this... thanks everybody 4 support
Compare the numbers to the numbers in the filenames you posted above.
Means you have rom 3.14, radio 2.15.50 and need spl 3.03.0000
so, now... my hd2 run already WM 6.5...
for install the spl i use hspl4.exe and i launch the application after reboot of telephone with power+vol down? i don't want destroy my smartphone
thanks
Yea, either from bootloader or from within running winmo, but I recommend from within bootloader, since there is less chance of USB timeout.
Don't worry so much, its pretty tough to brick a regular hd2 by flashing. Its the tmous that comes with an idiot kill switch, not the regular.
ok, i have done it!
when i start phone with power+vol down it's say to me, in the screen with the four colours:
PB81100 SS-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 X3
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
it's all ok? now can i send to repair the telephone with the warranty?
spl and OS are installed.
missing somewhat else?
thanks
yep that will do fine.

Just the phone, no cards, no sim, no charger.
Note: I've seen a few similar threads with a problem like mine, but my HD2 is showing different error messages, so I thought I'd start a new thread to avoid making things worse.
---------------------------------
So I purchased a second hand HTC HD2 pretty cheap. It's the 512HD2 and it came flashed with a MIUI Android with a Samsung Galaxy S2-ish interface. Problem was, the battery got drained way too quickly, even from the most minimal usage, so I though I should flash back to the stock OS and get my problem solved so I could use the HD2 as a primary phone.
Here's what I did:
1. I followed jayceooi's tutorial.
2. I downloaded a ROM Update for HTC HD2 (3.14.405.2) from HTC's Official HD2 download page.
3. I opened up the .exe, got the .nbh, renamed it correctly, put it on the SD card and then verified it's really there with an Android file manager.
4. VolDown + PowerButton and I got to the rainbow menu thing (I know, I'm a noob and I don't know how it's called) then I let go of the keys and got to the update screen.
5. PowerButton - Update begins
6. 30 seconds later, only after about 1/4 of the bar had progressed, I got a black screen, and then a screen that says "Software update failed. Please try again". Afterwards the gray screen saying "Loading... 00028002 not allow". Finally, back to the RGB screen I got:
HX-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
And If i try to enter the boot mode via VolDown+PowerButton I get:
RUUNBH
HX-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x40
Update ROM code error
Please try again
Serial
---------------------------------
Should I try a USB flash or something?
Thanks in advance.
?
Nobody?
Update:
I tried to upgrade from 3.03.0000 SPL to the 3.03.0000 HSPL via USB in the boot mode, but I got a critical error and nothing happened on the device whatsoever - same state as the post above.
Any ideas?
probably wrong stock rom used, (or did you use the phones correct serial to download the rom?)
enter bootloader (three coloured screen)
connect usb
run hspl4
choose 3.03.hspl
back into bootlaoder
connect usb
run the 3.14 rom over usb.
EDIT - just saw your edit about critical error, , ,win7 64bit? try different usb ports, and try a different pc if you have one available, , hspl can be a little picky.

Unfortunately I have only one laptop with a 32 bit Win7, but it's OLD and crapfull of viruses so I'm not risking any failures there.
Do you think it will be safe to HSPL over VMWare (virtual OS environment inside of windows)?
P.S.: Exact model is the HTC HD2 T8585. I checked it via an IMEI checker.
there's a very good chance that hspl wont flash from a virtual machine. (Something about not getting low enough level access to the usb or something).

Ok, in that case I'll probably go over at a friend's house and try an HSPL there. I'll come back with some results as soon as I'm done.
Halfway done?
OK, so I got a good Windows 7 32 bit laptop and tried out HSPL4.exe by DFT. I kept my fingers crossed and, thankfully, I got to the "We hacked it! " screen.
After successfully updating and removing the USB cable, the phone rebooted with the same "Software Update Failed" message, but this time the gray screen showed the Cancel/Allow for the leoimg on the SD. I pressed the power button to attempt a flash, but I got the same issue as last time.
After that, the VolDown + PowerButton STILL showed:
SPL-3.03.0000
Since I'm not that stupid (I hope) I figured that the ROM reverts SPL and Radio to normal and that's why there was no trace of the HSPL, so I went back to the laptop to go at another 3.03.0000 HSPL. This time, after I got the "We hacked it! " screen I cancelled the ROM update and thankfully the RGB screen now reads:
P81100 HX-BC
SPL-3.03.HSPL XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x40
IN SHORT - The HSPL was a success, now if you help me find the right ROM, I would owe you my life!
lol, i draw the line at advising roms, for example ive never used an android rom with sense, or a MIUI rom, and i havent used a winmo rom in about a year,, so it would be unfair of me to guide you.
ROM
Edit - Okay, thanks for all your help!
P.S.: I just ran an Task29 to get rid of the constant Software Update error at each boot and now I can boot into the RGB screen without the RUUNBH error so I think that will make things easier. I'll probably find the ROM myself or ask somewhere else.
Thanks again!!!
thanks

You saved my day. I was searching for my problem since 3 days and this has solved the problem
Finally Done!
@ParmakSokan - Hey! Looks like I'm not the only one samsamuel helped!
A little update - I finally have the phone in working condition! It is now running the stock Windows Mobile 6.5 specific for O2, since I figured out the device was purchased in the UK.
For anyone interested, I got the ROM from the official library of HD2 ROMs in 4shared, which I believe is held together thanks to xda-developers, so yeah - yet another KUDOS for that!
The HTC Sense UI is simply beautiful and I think I will actually stay with 6.5 for a few more months before considering 7.5 Mango.
P.S.: Moderators can mark the thread as solved.
