Okay so I did the Webtop hack in which all the phone needs to activate webtop is just an hdmi cable and its working fine, but after completing the entire process, I found out the majority of my contacts had disappeared, the social network for motoblur is not working with facebook, system update is asking for a social networking account when I should already have one, and facebook is not syncing with my contacts.
Is there a way to fix this? I really want this feature back. thnx

I know there are several apps out there that update twitter with the phone's GPS coords. Is there a WinMo app that does it for Facebook? I've messed with Loopt for blackberry, and that's the only program I've found that'll send a map location to FB. But I'm wanting to take my Tilt2 on vacation, and update my status with map or map coords/link on where I am. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Personally what I do is I use twitter and I have it auto-update to my facebook account. When I post a picture and/or location on twitter (or any other update for that matter) it goes straight to my facebook status message...
Just an idea...
True but in order to do that, (I believe) I must have my twitter account un-protected. This means anyone anywhere could see where I am. Not that I'm paranoid, but I'm looking for something that'll go directly to FB so i can control even which FB groups can and cannot see it Thanks though!
Glympse works well. If you have Facebook set up to accept text messages from your phone, it will post to your FB wall.
Never heard of Glympse but it is kinda cool. Now if only I could update via email. Trying to use data only, not txts. Thanks!
Hi, I have a few questions about the social hub and was wondering if anyone knows about it or there are extra documents out there.
1. Are the transmissions secure?, I found this page, which suggests it is, but it doesn't really explain much more than that.
socialhub.samsungapps.com/category/faq/?cat=faq&search=secure&paged=1
2. Where are the passwords for the accounts you use stored? Is it on the phone or at samsung (or 3rd party)? I would have thought the phone, but i read somewhere that the accounts can be transferred between phones.
3. How much private data does the SEVEN company see? I have only one network connection open to 195.124.8.60, on a 7000+ port for social hub process. If i go to that address in a browser I get some docs about SEVEN and samsung SSH.
It sort of sounds like social hub SSHs to the SEVEN servers to sync, but was wondering if anyone else knew what was going on.
Note: It's working again! Looks like a server issue from Samsung which they might have fixed. See post #6.
I replaced my old phone for dead pixel. On the new phone, I restored contacts, and synced with Facebook (Social Hub), but I get the following error and FB contacts are not getting loaded -
"Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."
I tried the following but didn't help -
1. Reset phone, sync with FB contacts before anything else - didn't help
2. Remove Samsung Mobile app from Facebook (from the browser in App management) - and remove mobile account at the same time. Reconnect mobile account. Didn't help.
The Facebook App's sync works though, and syncs with the contacts! Unfortunately the way it syncs is not compatible with third party apps like Viber or WhatsApp who try to read the phone numbers from contacts list.
I know this has been posted sometimes before, but that was 1 year ago with Froyo. Is there a solution to this?

Facebook Samsung Social Hub sync error
I also have the same problem with my Galaxy s2. My problem started with a session expired error. Now i get "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly"View attachment 748549
I have the same problem after flashing KI8 firmware. It was working fine with 2.3.3 and 2.3.4. But I can sync messages.
Looks like it is a current problem that the servers are facing. I will report back when it works (if ) for me!
Same thing happening for me on my T-mobile GS2. Social Hub FB Calendar syncs OK but not Contacts nor Messages.
My regular FB account sync (that comes with the regular FB Android app) is syncing contacts just fine however.. So I can see my FB contacts from the Contacts/Phone app, but the Activies, History, and Media tabs (which I assume are fed via the Social Hub FB syncs) are empty.
The Social Hub service is back online on my SGSII. Everything is green. Samsung must have fixed their server issue.
Thanks, checked, it's working!

Thank you! I looked at your post and checked, it's working for me as well. It means now Viber and WhatsApp can analyze my address book again
I will post a comment in the original message.
Before i go screwing too much up. Are samsung's social hub and SNS services vital for the phone? Right now i have some frozen with tb but would like confirmation before i delete things

i have removed all the hubs, and sns stuff, everything seems to be working for me..
*note* i dont use facebook or myspace, twitter, or others on my phone. if you do, you might watch removing the SNS stuff (not sure)
Same. SNS and social hub removed. I removed Facebook also since it randomly starts up in the background.
Now I just need to figure out whether it's safe to remove at&t tethering manager.

From what I know it's safe to removing the tethering manager as it was on the captivate. It's just responsible for checking in with AT&T and making sure you have a tethering enabled plan. People should just watch it when doing it because if AT&T sees that free tethering is going on they may warn or just apply the $45 4GB tethering plan and send you a notification text.
Now then is it possible to can the social hub and keep the sns agents? I want facebook and twitter integration in the phone but I don't want social hub, twitter, or facebook apps installed. I use tweetdeck for the updates and stuff. I just need facebook and twitter for contact list feeds. Facebook gives me phone numbers of people not in my google account. Most of my facebook friends are co-workers anyways...
I have removed Media Hub/Social Hub and all of the SNS JUNK.
nothing seems majorly broken
Just as title asks, i know that motoblur on photon has the social networking widgets and that stuff. Biggest question is, i currently have a stock rom and have my facebook sync'd to my phone and it combines my contact list with facebook and blah blah, anyways i like how i have my contact photos syncing with facebook. IF i flash to CM7(or any blur-less rom) will i lose this? Or will i still be able to sync my facebook into my phone and have my contacts and contact photos sync together like it is now? Not the end of the world if it doesn't, just want to find out any possible downside before flashing anything.
blur is nothing but bells and crap. flash cm7 and you have settings to choose to integrate social networks or not. I have CM7 and i have it to sync contacts to pictures so they show up with latest pix when they call. I can confirm that it works.

i believe you still can integrate the facebook contacts via CM7 i might be wrong on this one, but its the facebook app that can still offer that as well, like the things you would lose is like the stock music app, any moto apps really since they are built into the framework, settings will be a little different, theme customization will be different as well, sometimes it can free up and even speed up your phone by removing even more bloat. one thing i cant live without is the stock moto music player. i really do like it but its built into the framework so i cant move it over to cm7 im hoping i can figure out a workaround for that one
