Hey before I say anything at all I would appreciate all your help and I have looked everywhere and found no answer. My phone was working perfectly, until I got a T-Mobile update on my phone. I confirmed it and downloaded it. The update reset my phone to a white screen with a blue loading bar. I left it alone couple minutes later I get the phone and click the turn on button and nothing happens at all. The phone does absolutely nothing. It will not power on at all.
1. Pull battery
2. Pull sim
3. Pull sdcard
4. Plug in USB cord
5. Hold Vol+/Vol- and power button simultaneously.
6. Put battery back in and let go of power button when screen goes black after seeing the battery charge icon.
7. Search for Odin and 2.1 stock files.
8. Odin back to 2.1 Stock.
I tried that and it didn't work. even when i plug in the phone nothing happens. The phone does absolutely nothing at all. I don't think it could be the hardware because the phone was working perfectly.. Until I did the tmobile update.
so basically no buttons are lighting up? doesnt do the charging battery icon when plugged in without battery? if not go to tmobile slap the person behind the counter with you phone and politely ask for another.

What update and what Vibrant phone, the 4g?
Enzozenuni, sell me your vibrant.
Nothing Lights up. I installing the stock firmware. I know its not hardware or it can't be. I have the box and everything and the phone is in perfect condition.
If Tmobiles update bricked your phone, just tell them that and get a replacement. For all the people here who abuse the replacement system, you're one of the few here with a legitimate case. I've seen people here who've literally had their phone replaced six times due to THEIR idiotic mistakes. So you should have no trouble getting one.
Corrupted bootloader most likely...you're not gonna be fixing it with Odin. Take it to T-Mo.

I just sold a water damaged one open and honest for $150 so I don't know where you are getting your numbers from unless your basis is from the upgrade or new contract price from t-mobile and I have also sold one that does not power on for $210 so they sell pretty good. I think his $200 is a fair price for the condition it's in

Hey Guys,
I recently Bricked my Unlocked Samsung Vibrant phone while uploading a Custom ROM. The phone is now such that it wouldn't show anything on the screen.
The recovery mode was not available but the Download mode sure was. But to flash a Stock ROM through Odin it should go into the Download mode at least, but that ain't happening at all, because there is nothing showing up on the screen and neither is the keypad lighting up.
I have tried numerous methods of booting up but none of them work as Nothing Shows up on the screen. Also when I insert the battery inside the Phone Heats Up (Not the Battery) like it would while one was using it.
I figured out, from the forum, that the problem must be of a corrupted bootloader and that the USB will not detect anything as it has no support from the bootloader.
I stay in India and my phone is past the 30 Day Replacement phase. I gave this phone to the Samsung Service Centre in my country and they said that, No Support is available for Vibrant here and the only way to make this phone work is to install a new Galaxy S I9000 Motherboard instead of Vibrant's one for around 300$.
I can send my phone to the US, but the question I want to ask is,
1) Since my phone is Rooted and I tried to Flash a Custom ROM onto it, it is well out of the Warranty. Will Samsung Notice this and charge me out of the Warranty for repairing ?
2) What is the Charges that I will incur from Samsung for Unbricking my Rooted Phone and what will there procedure involve ?
3) A guy in my town has a Riff Box JTag and he says that he might be able to boot my phone for a mere 20$. I will be voiding my Warranty if I hand over the Phone to him. What are the skill levels required for Booting through Jtag apart from the very skill of Precise Soldering ? Should I hand over my phone to him for a cheaper alternative for Unbricking than sending it over to US getting charged by Samsung and paying for the phone to be shipped back ?
Thank You for any Help and Hope you provide.
Any Help is appreciated guys.

Samsung has a live tech support chat
you can ask your question directly http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-T959ZKATMB?
On the other hand, you can score a second hand Vibrant for less than $300 here in the States, I am not sure about market in India.
they wont charge anything.
I've hard bricked my phone to where nothing would turn on. sent it in, and got a replacement (with the new GPS antenna LOL) and only had to pay for the expedited shipping.

if you were to see the contents I had on my internal SD, yeah....I'd be in debt. LOL.
custom kernels built by me, kangklick, JAC, Eugene
Roms built by TW, and Eugene, CM6 built by me...
They will most likely see that it wont turn on with a new battery, check the water damage sticker, and then take out the good parts, reuse, and dis-guard the rest.
Did you really tried getting into Download mode right?
take battery off, press vol + And - at the same time (do not touch power)
insert the battery.
if it does not come up, let the volume keys go and do it again.......

Hi guys, I bricked my phone...phone does not enter the download mode or th recovery. The phone will enter the batt screen (the one that comes on when you charge your phone when it is off) and turn off (looping). I had totally modded it and am getting my replacement. When I send in my phone:
1) will they figure out I rooted?
2) Charge me for the replacement that they sent in?

From what I have read over the forums, if they send you a replacement and if they come to learn after that you have fiddled with the software, they charge you for the replacement too, i.e., the whole 600$ even when you have given them your old phone. So you just have to thank your stars, if they don't.
I would suggest you inquire in advance everything about the replacement procedure from Bell.

I woke up this morning to a evo 3d that won't turn on. It freezes up and there is a gray screen that I can't get pass. The phone won't even go into recover mode. Nothing happens when I hold the down volume button and the power button. I tired everything I can think of. I called sprint tech support and they couldn't help. I was told to take it to the sprint store. Any advice?
I know you said you tried everything you can think of, but did you remove the battery and put it back in? If you turned off fast boot in the settings and turn off the E3D, it doesn't turn back on until you remove the battery and put it back in. This is a problem for all Evos as I got a replacement for that reason and it did the same thing.
If it doesn't turn on after removing the battery and putting it back in, try doing that again except try going into the HBOOT menu after putting the battery back in. (VolumeDown + Power)
If this doesn't work, go to a sprint store. Having a gray screen isn't normal.
yea, i tried removing the battery and going into Hboot. I can't get into Hboot. only a gray screen shows up.

Did you S-OFF or use HTC Bootloader Unlock on your phone phone?
If not, the software is covered under warranty so if you take it to a sprint store, they'll fix it up.

Oh yeah, I forgot that it won't even turn on. Yep, just go to them and tell them your problems and they should replace it.
There is one thing though - If you used HTC's Bootloader Unlock to root it, it may be in their database that you used it. I'm not sure, though. I wish you best of luck.

i wouldn't think flashing a kernel would affect you be able to boot into the boot loader. maybe the phone just took a dump. it happens. if it won't start up then the sprint guys won't even look at it. they'll just take it and give you a refurb one. at least that's what happened last time i had to get a replacement. just make sure you your sdcard cause a replacement will prob just be a phone, with no accessories.

I bricked my Note, I was flashing cwm based recovery when it hung, screen went black and sat there for about 15 minutes before I decided to do the dumb thing of pulling the battery. Now it won't turn on, but there's good news! I hope. I get a driver sound and error when plugging it in, so it is recognizable. When checking Computer Management, I show a QHUSB_DLOAD under Other but the phone won't connect at all. Any ideas?
Have you tried putting it in download mode and see if Odin recognizes it?
Sent from my GALAXY NOTE LTE
On my vibrant and my behold 2 (both Samsung devices)
I took out the battery and plugged the USB in while holding the buttons for dl mode and it would get out of the soft brick. Once it goes into dl mode, pop the battery in, Odin should recognize it, and flash away.
Don't know if it will work, but it sounds like you didn't hard brick it

It won't turn on to get into DL mode. I tried to see if Odin would see it but nope. I was hoping there was another driver to allow it to see it.
Thanks for the idea, it didn't boot though. It tries, it makes the sound of the USB being inserted but then makes the error sound for failed drivers. I wouldn't think it's a hard brick either, but even my JIG won't get it to boot.
i had a hard brick after flashing a kernel. not sure what the problem was but it wouldnt go into download mode, so i pulled the battery for about 5 minutes and it went into download mode and odin recognized my phone.
Would the phone turn on? I'll give it a try. I've left it out for 30 seconds and that didn't work, I'll let it go longer.

That's what I planned on doing. lol. If nothing else, I could sign up for their black tie program, come back monday during my lunch and get it swapped then and they could say nothing about it.
An update on the situation, I left the battery out of the phone overnight and tested it when I woke up, nothing. So I took the phone to BB and they said they wouldn't take it back unless I wanted to spend $170 to replace it. I took it to AT&T and they did everything they thought would get it to work, it wouldn't naturally, so they warrantied it and I have a new one coming in a few days.

Ive never heard of anyone getting radioshacks insurance and I sell phones. A quick google search on their protection showed class action suits against them for misrepresenting their protection. Oh and it's more expesive them best buys lol
And to the OP, you could have also done the monthly best buy protection instead of the 170 2 year plan, they could have also replaced it under manufacturers warranty for your situation. I hate when people work for the same company as me and are uneducated at their jobs.
Glad all is well but for future reference what should you have done? I mean, if i flash something and it goes wrong, the first thing I'd do would be pull the battery. What should we do?

No there is not at this moment.. sad to say.. There is one option but it might cost you about a $100.. You could look online for a 4.1.2 motherboard for i605, the specific model.. it very simple to swap out..took me only about 15 mind and I have never done it before.. If your not comfortable PM me and I can recommend someone you can send it to that guarantees their work/parts for 3 months.. good luck man!:good:

I actually tries "saferoot" and so far so good. I'm still waiting to see if it'll restore my data through Titanium Backup. Root checker does show it is rooted though.
I though about taking the mobo out of my cracked screen phone and swapping it once I booted this replacement and saw it was 4.3.

I watched the video. Battery was at like 90%. Now with the now mobo in the new phone if I hit the power button 3 times the LED will turn red, but when it's pliugged in charging it doesn't do anything.

I can now get the green LED light to come one with the new mobo and charger plugged in if I hold the power button, but that's all it will do.

Sounds like something wasn't put together right.. I would start over and make sure all is connected properly.. And this motherboard was from same device correct? Not like one from tmobile, sprint etc ect Verizon to Verizon..
Yeah, it was from a i605 I got two weeks short of a year ago. I also agree about something not being put together right. I'm going to swap the antenna and speaker too.

Well, I've made some progress. It boots up with the blue LED and I can hear the Verizon chime, but I get absolutely nothing on the screen. It's completely black.

Weird sounds like something is not hook up to the screen? You didn't force it open and mess the screen up right..

I'm thinking I must have messed up a ribbon cable by accident. The insurance company is going to send me a new one, and I'll just keep the locked bootloader and "saferoot" so I can use Titanium Backup and Rom Toolbox.
