Hi all,
I installed dexter 1.4 rom and i have some trouble with wifi connections:
Poor signal.
What is the way to apply the patch, in order to use old version of driver ?
Do I 'only' copy files in the /system directories ?
You have just to download the file.
Copy it to the root of your sd card and apply it like a new rom
Moved to general as not android development

The folder is apparently read only, because its not letting me copy over the contents of btfiles.zip
Anybody have any ideas on what the issue is?
Running CM9 beta 2.0, first version of cwm touch, and the basic cm9 kernel that comes with it
Hi,
I am with a Nook 16Gb Tablet that I got with 1.4.0 and had sideloaded apps. Now it is on 1.4.2 and I have reset everyting in various previous attempts, so it is quite clean. Unrooted. I have a SD card, a disk partitionning software, and a USB cable, but no ADB.
My goal is, minimum, to be able load few apps (Kindle, a radio I like, etc), and if it is rooted and with access to Market, even better, then I'll do even more.
I have found these 2 posts that seem to help but are not so clear:
[MODS/HACKS/THEMES] Nook Tablet ONE-STOP-SHOP for CM7 | UPDATE! March/12
SD Root] Make 16GB Nook Tablet Root SD Cards by Albert Wertz [SDNT16gbV4.6]
Luckily, I have been able to download the various files in these posts (am in African and is not easy).
My questions regarding the CM7 update
1> internal or SD ?
Which method you think is simplier and more stable?
2> Stable versions now?
It looks like these versions have started as beta, but been improved; Could they be considered stable now?
I saw there are other ones out there, but I could not succeed download them ("Team-B-CM7SD-Alpha_final.img_001.zip")
4> Requirements
Do I understand well there are no special requirements before starting that? Can be on unrooted device, 1.4.2? Or needs be rooted first?
3> reading the instructions...
I am not so expert and may need some help:
1. Download the file of the mod you pick
=> OK
2. Copy the zip file in the root (/) of Internal OR External SDcard (Pick one)
=> OK for external. But if you talk of internal, does it mean the tablet should already be rooted?
3. Verify md5 of the file >> ES File Explorer>Properties let you check md5
=> Is this step compulsory? How do you do that with an unrooted tablet and no ES file explorer in?
4. Boot into CWM
=> This I knew to do with Indirect method. Does it mean I should have done that before? Or the img file provided here will enable me do it ?
4.1 Go to Backup & restore>> Backup your current ROM if you haven't already
=> ok
4.2 Format system, Wipe cache, advanced>> Wipe dalvik cache
=> Is this step compulsory? How do you exactly do that, all from CWM?
4.3 Re-flash CM7 ROM
=> Does that just mean to reboot?
4.4 Flash the mod
=> Does that just mean to reboot? apparently not... then how?
5. Reboot your device. ENJOY!
I am sorry for beeing so basic, but I am sure I ma not the only one...
Thanks for the precious help!
Hello Everyone, a quick easy question. i am trying to load Mattgrofs Rogers Razr ICS Leak. (CA). my phone is completely stock, so it would appear that i am to follow these instructions
1. download the leak .zip
2. copy it onto the Root dir of the sd card and place into /cache dir
3. download the free app (Rom Manager)
4. Run the leak.zip
i for some reason thought that this update could be installed without rooting the phone, but it would appear that i misread. so the phone MUST be rooted in order to install this leak.
so Question 2 becomes, which root should i use to root my Rogers 651.167.3331.XT910.Rogers.en.ca ?
Additional Information:
system version Rogers 651.167.3331.XT910.Rogers.en.ca
android version: 2.3.6
build number 6.5.1-167_SLC-M33.1

Cubot CW9 add Google Maps API support
One of the problems of CUBOT C9W is not have Maps Api support and some software can't be install if need google maps
I add Here the files to update your CUBOT C9W after install the files reboot the phone
The files are in the folders necessary inside the 2 zip. As we can't flash zips from recovery you'll have to put the files in manually. As this uses google services you probably need to have GoogleServicesFramework.apk installed already in your /system/apps directory (to do this if you haven't either install the market which will include this step or transfer the GoogleServicesFramework.apk there and chmod to 644 like the others below [do this before you reboot as it will be required])
1. Extract the zip files on your computer
2. Copy the extracted files to your device
3. Copy com.google.android.maps.jar into /system/framework via ADB or Root Explorer
4. Chmod (long hold select file in Root Explorer and select permissions) to 644 (owner read/write, group read, others read)
5. Copy com.google.android.maps.xml to /system/etc/permissions the same way
6. Chmod that file to the same permissions
7. Restart your Cubot CW9 to allow it to recognize the new framework

Hi My friend the sell phone is sold in English but your language is in the list of Android sure you can change
---------- Post added at 11:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:11 PM ----------
Cubot c9w have a smal problem have a rom very small anyway if you think you can't install many app is not true
I play for many days and I solve the problem like that:
1.- Frist you need to root with framaroot
2.- forget link2sd and all that staff only make problems
3.- look in your phone is select save app in sdcard
4. look in Playstore for SDCARD CACHES PLUS BOOSTER PRO is also a no pay version a test version but work buy that version
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gejos.android.sdcardcachesboosterpro
5- Install the app and select the options exclude only some app from bidding process app like banks app and youtube
6.- Reboot your phone and start install app
That app is magic for cubot c9w if you get some problem any time with a bad reboot scard cache aplication can get superuser access or there and other bidding process go to the app scard cache aplication select delete all the bidding cache and reboot that solve the problem.
Dear Admins,
Could we get a forum setup for the Cube U27GT WiFi version? I dug around on the site a bit beforehand but didn't see one, I apologize if I missed it and please direct me there if I did.
I have this tablet and I am doing some initial basic firmware development for it and want a proper place to start putting threads.
Dear Dev Community,
I can't root this bloody thing... At least, not the rom itself. Let me explain...
I can flash the stock rom from Cube and that can be rooted using Kango Root. --Fine...
However, I can't figure out how to replicate this when I make my own rom.
Thus far, here is what I have attempted...
1. Setup dsixda's excellent kitchen on my Ubuntu workstation.
2. Unpack the rom, clean things up, manually put the boot image into the dsixda unpacked working rom folder, run dsixda's root functionality (which add SU binary to xbin and SuperSu apk file to app folder as well as do some things with the boot image file).
3. Rather than using repack with Dsixda (which makes an update.zip image which I can't use because the stock recovery environment on this device can't flash zip update files and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get and or make a working CWM or TWRP recovery image for this unit)...
4. What I do is I run commands in linux to unpack the stock rom to another directory and mount that directory, then clear out a bunch of folders and then manually copy in my files from dsixda's working folder, then repackage up my unpacked stock rom into a new system.img file.
5. Then copy my now modified boot image, system image, and also userdata image (I modify that as well as that is where most all of the chinese bloatware is loaded from) to my SP_Flash_Tool, generate new checksum.ini file and flash normally...
What I get as a result...
1. As long as I am really careful with how I copy files into my new image, the new system flashes okay (if I am not careful, after flash USB storage for some reason has a format error and the system will boot but can't mount USB storage and other odd issues ensue as a result).
2. Assuming everything flashes okay, and no issue with USB storage partition, I have SuperSU installed and when I go to use an app (ES File Explorer or Root Checker) that require's root, I do get the prompt. However none of the root functions actually work and Root Checker tells me I am not rooted.
That is as far as I have got. So as a result, I have a really nice, westernized, cleaned up rom but with no root.
Anyone have any ideas?
This is my first adventure into mod'ing MTK roms so I am sure I am doing all kinds of things wrong . I had a good bit of experience on Rockchip SoC's before this though.
Kind regards and thanks in advance!
Roman
Figured it out!
So I finally did the following rather hackish work-around...
1. Flash stock firmware...
2. Root with Kingo Root
3. Enabled ADB
4. Attach to PC and fire up MTK Droid Tools
5. Take a full backup
6. Modify the system image from the backup and make changes
7. Put that in new firmware flash package
8. Flash new firmware
YAY - Cleaned up rom, modified, with root!
Once I get it all packaged up and uploaded to mtkfirmware.com I will post a link for anyone that wants a cleaned up rom with root!
The only downfall of the above method is that it absolutely requires that the developer have a device on hand because you can't just root the stock image file (at least, I couldn't figure out how... - bleh...
Kind Regards,
Roman
Dear roman,
Thanks for your hard work.
I have a simple question (I think) and if you have the time to reply or -any other android guru- I would be thankful.
My later issue was with a U27GT cube tablet, but I have others, one for each kid, and this is more of general question.
I am reading this and other forums about how to flash tablets from PC. My question is:
Can the flashing process be done from a SD card?
Thanks a lot and regards,
Fernando
