I've been playing with various roms lately and now when I open the camera app I get a notice that the firmware on my camera is out of date. When I attempt to update the firmware the app force closes on me.
I'm in Canada and can't connect to tmobile website - is there a location to download this firmware separately?
You can just get the APK here for the Captivate or Epic or I9000 or the FFC apk and install it, these all are modded to the latest update. You do not need to get from Tmo site

Removed from my stock (unlocked) with the EKG4 update as well....though I didn't use it for any downloads. Not sure but perhaps Samsung is making some changes??

after update became locked and no samsung apps.

Does anyone know the latest version of Android Market?
If so, is someone able to show me where I can download the apk for my Galaxy S II with KH3 firmware?
I noticed for some reason my phone automatically updated the Market before, but I ended up scrubbing my phone and lost it
Will my phone auto update the market again eventually?
look at this thread.

yes, if there is an official update for your phone.
I'm on a rooted GT10.1 with stock honeycomb 3.1.
I bought and installed a game from the market (Sprinkle) that does a force close every time I try to start it.
I emailed the game developer, and they said the 10.1 has a firmware problem that causes this, but if I update to the latest official firmware, it should be fixed.
Problem is, I don't want Touchwiz. Is there a custom ROM or kernel I can flash that will put me at the equivalent of the latest official firmware, bit without TW? I tried Pershoot's latest kernel, but I'm still getting force close with Sprinkle. I was considering Bonsai ROM, as its about the only well-established ROM that still offers a non-TW version, but will that actually fix the problem?
I have a Chinese (PRC) version of the Samsung Galaxy S2. This caused a lot of trouble in the beginning because it doesn't come with the Android market or any of the Google services. Also it didn't allow the installation of non-Chinese ROMs. This was remedied by installing ownhere's hacked mod.
Later it was discovered that you could pretty much put any ROM on the PRC version of the SGS2, as long as you kept the original Modem and CSC. So I did and I'm now running Cyanogenmod 7.
However, now that ICS for the Galaxy S2 has been leaked, I would like to start this thread to provide a source of information for fellow owners of China (PRC) phones so they can update to ICS.
I have downloaded the ICS 4.0.3 package from the above link. I tried the following ways to install it:
- Odin 1.85: repartition, modem, csc AND pda -> NAND write fail in the very beginning, soft-bricked phone, revert to ownhere
- Odin 1.85: repartition and pda -> NAND write fail in the very beginning, soft-bricked phone, revert to ownhere
- Odin 1.85: only pda -> NAND write fail etc etc.
- revert to the original stock Chinese firmware, however I have forgotten the name and code of the firmware and the firmware thread on this forum does not list the latest stock (original) China (PRC) version.
- UPDATE: Tried Bezkes ROM, installed the zip via CWM recovery. Seems to work but many apps still crash, like google maps, the camera, some settings. Functionality is really 差不多.
Has anyone been more successful than me?
I tried kp8 on hk sgs2,home button not working,so give up
Using airbus1.1 and disabled media scanner
Very smooth and okey battery life
And I found that official Facebook apps services is always on,so I using "Simple feed" to replace fb
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I'm really only talking about PRC phones. The Hong Kong ones are the same ones as anywhere else in the world. PRC phones are modified not to accept non-PRC modem binaries...

Any news for Chinese owners? Perhaps this thread should also be stickied. Last time there seemed to be quite a few owners of Mainland Chinese SGS2's.
I'm using the Chinese S2. I don't know what China's issue is. What's the point of buying an Android phone if there's no Google Apps or Android market?
So, I have a tab wifi from Canada (I am living here too). I am on stock 3.1 still and it seems like Samsung forgot about our tabs here so I was thinking, and correct me if I am wrong but, I remember hearing that the tabs in the US have gotten 3.2 updates so would it be possible that I could flash an US stock version so I could get updates when they get released to tabs that are in the States?
AFAIK yes, its possible. If you flash a stock US ROM, You should get the updates for US tabs

What's your tablet's official designation, P6200, P6210, etc? This actually does make a difference because the hardware is slightly different in different tabs, (e.g. some have IR transmitters while others don't.)
While it is theoretically possible for you to flash a US ROM, you might cause unintended problems. I would suggest getting your actual model number and then making sure that the rom you flash is for that model number. Another thing to keep in mind is that your tablet is registered with Samsung's servers via its serial number, which brands it as a Canadian tab. Your rom, US or otherwise, probably won't matter because when it checks for updates via KIES or the built-in updater, it will be checking against serial number. This is not to say that you can't continue to pull the latest updates from here as flashable roms and then update manually, but I seriously doubt that flashing a US rom on a tab with a non-US serial will allow you to pick up the latest updates for US tabs. Sorry. Good Luck
Now - while you might not be able to get updates, with a wifi only 7510 there should be no problem for a Canadian retail device to run stock US retail firmware correct? One of the things I'm hoping to do is get a custom ICS working without a rolling ROM on screen wakeup. I've tried a couple and I'm convinced it's some sort of driver issue.
