[Q] install cinema-plugin on uruk - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello people
i have removed the stock os from my archos 101 and have only urukDroid 0.7..
how i can install the cinema plugin on uruk?
thanks for help
greets
bd860

when you buy the plugin, you can download an .aos file called "cinema_XXXXXXXXX_plugin.aos" where XXXXX is some hash or key or whatever.
then restart the gen8 device into recovery mode and do upgrade firmware and install the plugin .aos file

Hi,
i've tried to install the file but i can't ...
I've uruk 1.0 when restart in recovery mode , go to update firmware, the device check the file system and after i get error update failed (1) ..

I have the same problem with UD 1.6RC1, how can i install the plugin who have i purchased?
I have only UD on my tablet intern.

guys - u can ONLY have ud - u always have the stock OS still.
So reboot holing down vol- key - boot into android and there install the aos file (go to filemanager and install by clicking on it)
(DONT try to flash the file with recovery)
then u can reboot into UD again and it should show up as registered there also (as far as i read)

When i reboot und holding - there is no point to boot Stock Android.
There ist only:
No
Reboot
Update Firmware
Repair System
Format System
Developer Edition Menu
No more ....

@piti only volume down and power. you help volume up + down and power, didn't you`?

When holding - and power on then comes:
No
Reboot
Update Firmware
Repair System
Format System
Developer Edition Menu
When click - (or hold +) and power on then comes:
Boot AlternativeOS
Repair menu
Backup menu
Boot UrukDroid

ah, I see. you have that multiboot thing on your archos, right? so better ask them for booting questions

OK i have click "Update Firmware" and install 2.4.65 on the tablet.
Now i have the entry "Android" in the boot menu.
I have installed the plugin under stock android and boot back in ud.
It works perfect now.

y - somehow u ****ed your stock rom before the "no" options should have sounded "android"
well glad u have made it now

Android removed, what to do?

Such a concern that I wanted to make a formation Arcohs 101 G9 Tablet PC. I went to the Archos A101S Recovery Menu by holding down the volume + button and switch the power on button. Its a stupid mistake I selected from the Format System-> Device Reformat. Of course I did not know that before the computer to connect and integrate the Archos firmware file to the root folder. Android is removed?, at least it does not Boot up your computer as well, and does not connect, what to do?
1. Go to the right Forum, this is for the Gen8, not your Gen9.
2. Download the aos file from Archos, go into recovery and flash the FW as is described in the forum.

How to remove urukdroid 1.6?

Hi Guys,
has anyone been able to uninstall urukdroid 1.6 and revert to the original Archos firmware?
I've seen various suggestions from older versions... mainly around wiping file system.
... but no luck so far.
Sure I'm missing something obvious. Any ideas?
Cheers.
You want a way without system wipe? The options are:
1. if you have Stock firmware and Urukdroid - go to recovery menu and select "Developer edition menu" then select "Uninstall Developer Edition". This way you will have only Stock firmware left.
2. If you have only UrukDroid, unstall SDE and select "Update Firmware" upload the Stock firmware from Archos site and you're done.
3. Uninstall SDE (Special Developer Edition) and format the device to make sure its clean. Dont worry, after you format it the device will ask you to connect it to the PC and upload the firmware (you can find it in Archos site). Simply upload it and press the power button nothing can mess up. The installation will end and you will be back to Stock firmware like you wanted.
Thanks Mavasilisk, that's very helpful.
I worked out where I was going wrong. Was booting into urukdroid repair menu... not the Archos recovery menu. Doh!
In case any one else having same problem:
Archos Recovery Menu: Hold Vol + as soon as you reboot and screen goes black.
Urukdroid Repair Menu: Hold Vol + or - as soon as you seen urukdroid splash screen.

[SOLVED] How to root the Archos 35 Home Connect

Pulling together a couple of other threads from Howto root easily your Gen8 device and How to enter in recovery mode for a Archos 35 Home connect?, and with thanks to a tip from Kilawo (and a similar tip from Klaus on mydealz.de), this is how I got root on my Archos 35 Home Connect.
First, read the warnings about the risks of doing this, and if you choose to go ahead download the files as described by chrulri at Howto root easily your Gen8 device. Then use the following method to install them - strictly at your own risk:
1 Install SDE (you only have to do this only once, it will even survive a full reformat, but it will void your product support)
reboot Archos device and enter Recovery Mode by holdiing down the power button until the logo appears then rapidly press and release the power button around 10 times
choose "Update Firmware" (use the + and - keys to highlight item, and press the on/off switch to accept)
connect your Archos 35 by USB to your computer (if it isn't already)
upload the SDE file to the Archos 35
select OK using the power on/off switch to process the SDE
reboot
2 Install android firmware
Having rebooted, use the USB cable to copy the firmware to the Archos 35
reboot the Archos 35 and it will offer to "Update Firmware"
select OK using the power on/off switch to update the firmware
reboot
3 Install the custom kernel + initramfs
Having rebooted, enter Recovery Mode by holding down the power button until the logo appears then rapidly press and release the power button around 10 times (if you're too slow you'll overshoot the screen and the device will boot normally - just try again)
select "Recovery Menu"
select "Developer Edition Menu"
choose "Flash Kernel and Initramfs"
connect your Archos 35 by USB to your computer
upload zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz to the Archos 35
select OK using the power on/off switch to install the files
reboot and enter Recovery Mode by using the method above
choose "Developer Edition"
now you have temporary root (you always have to boot "Developer Edition" to get root again)
4 (optional!) permanent root - so it will always boot the custom kernel (to revert, reinstall Android firmware)
reboot and enter Recovery Mode by using the method above
select "Recovery Menu"
select "Developer Edition Menu"
select "Remove Android Kernel" and select OK using the power on/off switch
reboot
Now, using Google's Play store (downloaded via Arctools, which you can download via the pre-installed AppsLib) you can verify that you have root by installing Root Checker.

TuneIn is built into the ROM, so can't be removed. The only solution would be to replace the ROM, but I think that an another compatible does not exist. However you can use Google Play to install a different radio player.

I use TunIn on few devices, I added the favos online @ tunein.com.
Loged in to my account on the 35HC .. (After login it sais it failed.)
Went back to favos, and voila they were there.
I do mis some optional settings that are in the newer TuneIn
like auto start last active favo but thats just to bad for now.

Go to SamMobile.com and create an account (Join button): https://www.sammobile.com/join/
Select the FREE join, complete registration.
Confirm registration by clicking on the verification email.
Now visite this page : https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-grand-prime/SM-G531F/
Select your corresponding country.
Now there are many versions for your country : look in the PDA column for the ones corresponding to your Baseband version you noted earlier (G531FXXU1APG2 in my case).
Preferably chose the one independant from a telecom operator, click on this line.
Then download the firmware, it's huge so be patient.
You then have a zip file on your PC. Unzip it 1 time (using 7-zip or other tool) to keep the file named like : G531FXXU1APG2_G531FOXX1APG2_G531FXXU1APG2_HOME.tar.md5
Start phone in recovery mode again, connect it to PC and Launch Odin.exe.
In AP, set this brand new ".tar.md5".

Go back to step 3) at this line : "Connect phone in USB, wait for bootloader drivers installation.".
4) FLASH CUSTOM ROM
Start phone in recovery mode
TWRP is launching and reboots.
Check never show this screen during boot again and Swipe to Allow Modifications on first TWRP launch.
Go to Wipe menu -> Advanced Wipe : check Dalvik/ ART Cache, cache, system, Data and Internal Storage partitions.
Then Swipe to Wipe and wait for operations pending.
Go back to TWRP Home menu. Then tap on Install -> choose CSR*.zip
### If you don't see the files, tap on Select Storage and make sure Micro SDCard is active
then Swipe to confirm Flash.
Wait for operation to end.
Then tap Wipe cache/dalvik, swipe to confirm,
then Reboot System.
Wait for the phone to boot during 10 minutes.
5) ROOT ACCESS
The ROM has SuperSU preinstalled so no extra work to do.
6) CALIBRATE BATTERY
In Google Play Store, download App Battery Calibration (from IMobS Ltd).
Launch the App.
Confirm root acces.
Plug tab and wait till charge hits 100%, then hit BATTERY CALIBRATION and unplug it.
You can use GPS Status & Toolbox app for faster GPS fix.
7) OBTAIN GOOGLE MOBILE SERVICES (GMS) CERTIFICATION
Google now restricts Google Play and Google apps access to certificated devices. Since you have a custom ROM, you are banned.
We now need to subscribe for the Google Play Certification.
In Android, go to Settings -> Security and activate the Unknow sources
Now use the built in File explorer app to install the deviceID app from you microSD card.
Install it, launch it.
Tap on the Google Service Framework (GSF) line, then tap on the COPY button.
In your Android webbrowser, go to : https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/
Connect to Google using your Google/Android account.
In the input field of the page, paste the 16 digits code.
Click on the Save button, a success message confirms your device is Certified.
Do I need to re-certify it ?
"Your device’s GSF ID is reset every time your device is factory reset (or when you wipe the GSF app itself) since it is stored in your data partition, so you must re-register your GSF ID every time you perform either of these actions."

Hi,
Sincerely I didn't try to access recovery again.
At least you can log to a phone where you don't know the original owner.
Sorry for that.
Looked up for newer packages for 531f.
This tutorial is up to date.

Oooooops.
LineaOS 13 is available but marked as unstable : https://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/development/lineageos-13-0-grand-prime-velte-t3874411
However users say it is pretty stable for a daily usage.
Read carefully the manual.
