Theres no need to be hostile to a newbie.
I was kidding about it being broken. Its good advice though. I really don't feel like I was being hostile. Smartass definitely.

Back up everything you have.. install ROM manager and clockwork recovery.. now start dowloading diffrent ROM and install the one you like best.. but before doing all this.. do some research and read a lot..

I wasn't trying to be a smartass, I simply meant giving a newbie false information could cause him/her to panic and result in a million "HELP! Bricked! threads, and yes it is good advice to not screw with things you do not understand.
Point taken. I would like the op to be updated I am willing to bet its an ext2 lagfix. In which case there's no problem except that an ext2 fix is being used. But I agree hard to tell from the info given.
Btw I was not calling you a smartass. I was referring to myself.

Finally got this damm thing to be recognized by QPST. First you have to be turn on usb debugging. make sure you have your hidden menu enable. To do that you press *#83786633 then press the Home key. Go back into the phone dialer and enter *#22745927. Now a box will come up asking for the SPC code. Enter 000000 Press the Hiddenmenu Enable radio button. Now get out of the screen. Dial **33284 and now your spc which is 000000 . Now go to port map and change to HFK,DIAG. Now everything should be ok. make sure that QPST is not running. Plug your phone to USB and dial **87284 and it should open phoneutil , now change just the USB to modem. Your computer will install the driver and should detect a Com port for diag. Open QPST or cdmaws, it should now detect it. have fun
What are QPST & cdmaws?

You can change the ESN this way?? Is it possible to fix a bad ESN phone if I have an ESN from a broken phone to use? I wasn't aware it was even possible to change an ESN

Yes, you CAN "technically" change the ESN, but it is against Federal Law in the USA, so it will not be discussed about here.
I forgot that the phone had different mode for different regions

I know what I am doing with this phone, I just have never used the dial up feature. I can cook dinner 3 blocks away with adb. I have bricked my phone (or shall I say voodoo has) countless times and I can recover it just fine without having to read instructions because I understand the system. I just was curious as to what this is.

Any solution for recovery mode NVFLASH
on the screen of my Atrix says:
SVF: 105.1:2
Failed to boot 0 * 1000
NVFLASH Entering Recovery Mode
Batery is too low to flash
what were you trying to do when this happened?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
You hard bricked. There's no fix. Either exchange your phone if you can, or buy a new one.
so no one has figured out how to fix this yet, people have figured it out with other phones using external equipment, what's so different about the ATRIX?
Erebus671 said:
okay, I am seeing this alot, but everyone else unit seems to shut off before anything can happen, mine does not, it simply stays on. That being said, I am conducting an experiment, since my ATRIX was afflicted I baught a new one because I liked the webtop idea, so im charging my new one to 100% and then im going to swap out batteries and check the results. Has anyone seen any evidence at all that might suggest a possible fix? I will update you guys on the results of my experiment once completed, hopefully I can come across something that will lead someone to a fix if not find one myself.

Not yet, I'm still searching. Thus far I have yet to find a leak of the SBK. I'm sure they're more careful with that, than they are with bootloaders and the likes.

http://briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-system-boot-file-sbf-leaked
would this do the job
Negative my friend. Although the sbf (single binary file, not system boot file) is essential to the phone, it will only work if the phone is softbricked (bootloop or just stuck on M dualcore technology screen), not hardbricked (nvflash screen.) You will also need a dev cable to fix this. Remember we are looking for the secure boot key, not the single binary file. Good attempt though. Keep me updated if you find anything else. Pm me if needed.

Go ahead, let us know how it goes. By the way, are you also going to tell them that you voided your warranty by rooting and unlocking your bootloader? Cause when you ask for the sbk, you wont need to tell them that, they'll know automatically. Not to be rude... just saying

So? That doesn't mean they will be pissed. They are people just like the rest of us. Im sure they don't care that some people unlock their bootloaders. We're still buying and using their hardware. Ill try to get a contact. I might apply to Motorola mobility for an internship also.

I work with a lot of motorola canopy (wireless point to multipoint and BH stuff not a lot to do with phones) but my point with this is i have talked to asked many of thier engineers a lot of simple questions for similar problems and usually get laughed at so dont hold to many high hopes for calling up there and them handing you the keys lol

Its not that they will get pissed, they'll simply tell you that you've voided your warranty, probably laugh at you for even trying to ask and then hang up on you. But hey, by all means, who knows what could happen, and if you manage to get that internship, then you could probably get access to that sbk for us. Not likely though, but still, good luck with that.

Hey guys,
I've recently bought the S3 from someone (2nd hand).
I would like to know if the IMEI of the device is legit and that it wasn't tempered with so i could in the future upgrade to JB..
can you help me out ?
Thanks in advance
Mike.
Firstly welcome to XDA.
Secondly, why do you think it isn't legal? At the top of this forum are some stickies which are available all the time for you to use. They cover a wide range of topics that are relevant to your new phone, not sure about imei number though!
Check out those stickies and hopefully most of your questions will be answered.
Have fun with your new toy

You really helped him.... Noot
You could check on sites like this if it was stolen:
http://www.amta.org.au/pages/amta/Check.the.Status.of.your.Handset
To check if imei is changed is almost impossible on phone itself. But if you got papers from first buyer then on bill and on box should you find imei.
But would help if you tell your country.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
ask him for the box or receipt.
kies, using the serial number and imei you can see if it exists and if it's related to any specific carrier

You are only checking to see if the imei is correct right?

hy...i have a problem.how did you restored your IMEI???plss help.
Stupid to hijack a very old thread that has nothing to do with your question.
Restore IMEI is as per XDA flashing rule two backup your EFS .
So simply restore your backed up EFS .
No backup service centre is your next step .

Hi everybody,
I already searched but don‘t find anything.
What I wanna know is :
It is possible to make the phone lookalike(for normal user) a stock one?
For the day I wana sell it or trade
I already know I can do restore a nandroid backup, and may be “unroot“ the phone.
But I wanna know the other step to do to make it lookalike, like putting back the stock recovery.
Sorry for my not perfect english and if its already answered or anything else.
Feel free to change the title and sentence for a more clearly one
Thanks in advance and have a good day (or night)

Just use kdz and flash the lg.kdz into the phone. This way everything resets to stock(yes including recovery)

And read everything about kdz before using it.. incomplete knowledge may lead to phone bricking.
