I'm a little stuck here and I'm not sure how this happened. I'm using a rooted X10a. I tried installing XRecovery and BusyBox so I could change ROMs again (I've tested a few) and somewhere along the way somthing happened and now after the phone boots, it doesnt recognize the SD Card, there is no notification/status bar and an Force Close message pops up "Process system is not responding". Then after a few minutes, it reboots itself. I've finally be able to connect it to Droid Explorer. The normal "holding the back button while plugging in the data cable" is not putting the phone into flash mode. I'm at my wits end, as I have been dealing with this for 2 days. Please if anyone has any ideas, any help would be appreciated. I really miss my Android
Conflict caused by double install of busybox? Or are you entirely sure it wasn't installed anymore? What happened to me was, I totally forgot that I already had busybox installed (though, not visible) and what happened was it conflicted with the other busybox/xrecovery hence breaking xrecovery and giving me almost the same symtoms you are experiencing. Unfortunately for you, I was able to just get into flashmode.. I take you tried SEUS?
What rom are you on ?
Sounds like you have messed up your xrecovery path.
Once you install xrec you dont need to install busybox as it depends on a certain version. I sugest you read z's xrecovery thread for more answers.
Hope you get it sorted.

Yes, but since the SD card won't mount because I have no notification bar it won't connect properly

you broke the xrecovery dude cause you installed again xrec and busybox...
if you install 2.2 above dont re install xrec again..
flash again (clean flash) take off your battery for 30 sec and put your usb cable in phone and hold the back button then insert the battery..
gudluck..
Is there by chance another way to put it in to flash? Plugging in the usb cable, then holding the back button while putting in the battery will not work

open the flashtool click flash, select firmware click ok.
then do again my instructions above.
I click "Flash" in the flash tool but when I go to select the firmware, it does not show up where I put it. Do i need a certain format of file?
You have to download the firmware and flashtool from here. To get the phone in flash mode follow X10b directions
i had the exact same problem in wolfbreak's 2.2 rom after i installed busybox again, it wouldn't flash with flashtool, etc, what i did to fix it was after it was booted, i opened flashtool and connected the usb, and after it said process system not responding i pressed wait, then clicked on flashtool install root, next to flash button, it installed and then it rebooted, then after it rebooted, i clicked on ask root perms, then the superuser thing popped up and i pressed allow, then quickly i clicked on flashtool install xrecovery, and it installed!!! Then I rebooted and xrecovery worked, so I restored a nandroid backup I had and then my phone was back to normal
I had this problem after editing chargemon in windows. Copy the chargemon from recovery.zip using adb push, then chmod 06755. Thats work for me

maybe you don't have the busybox installed...
I did root my x10 using z4root permenant rooting and busy box was ok and xrecovery worked fine automatically..
used the custom rom freedom 8b and back to the original SE rom ,, which amazed me great work,,
now I used the custom rom black freedom 7a and the xrecovery wont install either automatically nor manually !! am kinda stuck with this rom,, tried rerooting and rebooted million times..
If anyone can help would be grateful
Thanks
manually copy the 3 files (chargemon, xrecovery, etc) into the /system/bin folder and make sure that you have the version of busybox from the market installed.
to manually copy these files u will need root explorer and make sure that you are mounted in RW mode.
I just did that and it works! Woo hoo!! Runs a treat with linpack around 33, still hasn't fixed the stuttering audio but hoping se will sort that in next update... fingers crossed

Xrecovery not working after latest stock rom
Xrecovery is definitely not working on my X10i after I stupidly re-installed the latest stock Rom... I have done all the normal steps and it now does not work... I have previously had various roms on this phone and now Xrecovery is not working im worried I'm stuck with the stock rom. Now don't ask me to press the back button and copy the files into the System folder...I've done all that I'm telling you there is something in the latest stock rom to block it in my opinion.

Long story short... You gonna have to do a SEUS repair and start all over, you shouldn't be messing around with the system folder, especially when you are changing permissions. Did you make backups? If not, let this be a lesson and start making backups. Do you have xrecovery installed?
EDIT: I looked at the app you tried installing and you should set /system/apps/"whatever the app is".apk to 664. Not the folders, just the apk... catch my drift?
where is the repair fuction in seus??? thanks
i don't intalled xrecovery?

Have you used SEUS yet? It's the same steps as upgrading your phone except you must chose to install the FW even if it tells you that your phone is up to date.
Download it: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...bject/updateservice/xperiax10mini?cc=gb&lc=en
follow the steps and let me know if theres problems
Then once you have your newly flashed phone up and running, download Bin4ry's flash tool:
http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
Connect your phone with debugging active and click "Root"... the phone will reboot, then once the flashtool sees that the phone is connected, click "Ask Root Permissions" look on your phone and allow the SU request then click "Install xRecovery". You can also use it to enable JIT and remove useless system apps.
Good luck and if theres a problem let me know
ok guys heres what I have done:
1) ive rooted my phone using Superoneclick
That worked fine....
2) Next I have installed Root Explorer
3) I have installed Xrecovery - xrec given super user to my folders( i tried the other one you guys suggest but it kept asking me for which phone i had and mine wasnt listed (x10 mini pro)
4) Next I downloaded and put the ROms onto my sdcard
I put on Srom-2.2.1 Froyo-v8.zip, slade87_MiniCm7_v15.0.zip (and the CM6 one), robynten.zip and Andread 2.2.1 pro v4.zip
5) Ive gone into XREC after Sony Logo and installed one of the ROMS
6) rebooted phone, either stuck on splash screen or in a loop
7) gone back into XREC and tried a different ROM
8) same problem!
tried all the ROMS, none of them will boot up my phone...
According to Superoneclick im rooted ok, even tried reformatting card and doing again...
None of these work...
Any ideas where I am going wrong here?
would appreciate any help
pulling my hair out
seriously guys whats going wrong?
ive reinstalled the rom from sony update service and started again completely from scratch...
I have done this -
Root : Automate Installation
1. Download attached file "SuperOneClick".
2. Enable "USB Debug".
3. Connect phone to "PC" and select "Charge Phone".
4. Open "SuperOneClick" and select "Root".
5. Wait!
6. When it is done, reboot.
xRecovery : Manual Installation
- Phone must be rooted
- Download and install Titanium Backup. Run it and press Problems to install busybox or you can install standalone busybox in market !
- Download attached file and unpack the recovery package in to sdcard
- Use Root Explorer to remount /system rw
- Copy the content of the package (3 files) into /system/bin folder
- Chmod 777 for 3 files copied !
How to use xRecovery :
- Reboot your phone !
- Press BACK button few times right after white SE logo appears.
- Use VOLUME-UP and VOLUME-DOWN to browse, HOME to select, BACK to go back.
Ive done exactly as above and gone into XREC and installed the CM6 V5-XRECOVERY ROM and the phone is stuck on the splash screen
im pulling my hair out now as ive followed that guide exactly with a ROM which everyone says is stable
I have an X10 mini pro phone, all rooted, correct permissions and cant get it to boot with any of these custom roms
please help guys ill buy u beer! lol
Probably baseband mismatch, for sonybread and andread u require latest firmware 2.1.1.C.0.0 AND FOR some others its 2.1.1.A.0.6
And some roms are flashed using cwm nd some by xRecovery....
Goto recovery
Do a factory reset
and then install update.zip from sd card

Hello
This is the info from the service menu:
phone software version: 1235-3411_2.1.1.A.0.6
File system: World-1-8_2.1.1.A.0.6
The ROM you linked to is the one I tried to install, i believe there is one the says for XREC and one that says for CWM
I didnt manage to get either to work and infact after installing one ROM instead of back button taking me into XREC program, it then took me into the CWM Recovery so i guess the ROM also installs that?
I will try to install this ROM you linked again, is this for 2.1.1.A.0.6 and XREC or is it for CWM?
thank you

It's for xrecovery, yes, the rom installs CWM 3.2.0.0 instead of xrecovery, but xrec and CWM are kinda the same, so it shouldn't be a problem

hi galvic
just doing that now, im away on holiday in a few hours so ill finish it when i get back
ive been through this process quite a lot now so i think im missing something. Ill have a reread through the guides and see if i did miss anything
My whole reason for updating is because my screen isnt rotating. It is stuck in landscape mode (some apps like pinball play in portrait though?)
I downloaded some calibration apps and it shows the phone is rotating on x y and z but the software doesnt rotate(the option is ticked in settings)
Is there a sensor for the keyboard opening and closing? maybe i have a hardware issue?
If its a hardware issue than stock 2.1 shouldnt work? Is it working correctly???
you need to have right Baseband version
Most of all rom need M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 baseband version and 2.1.1.A.0.6 frimware.
For SonyBread same basedand version and new 2.1.1.C.0.0 frimware.
i think that's why you have problem with keyboard and sensor.

sorry for late replies ive been on holiday
retried everything and still was stuck on the "slide keyboard back to continue" message

thanks for all your help going to stick with this andread 2.2.9 pro v8
Excuse me if this is explained anywhere and I'm just to dumb to find it, Forum Search didn't get me the answer:
I come from the Galaxy S and wanted to install a more featered ROM to my gilrfriends mini pro since I bought it to her and she saw me doing rom stuff on my phone, but only in the last time I read of fully working ROMS (last thing was the cam) because I didn't want her to bother (me) with stuff not working
Now I wanted to install SonyBread, but I'M stuck at installing CWM... I used the apk installer, and the flash tool, but nothing works, CWM nor xrecovery is booting when I hit the back key at SE logo. When I'm searching for the chargemon file, there seems to be the right one there (code says so) and recovery.tar is present. Phone is definetly rooted!
What am I doing wrong? Is it just I'm too into the Galaxy S and just can't see the obvious? And why can't I find a clean install guide for CWM to 2.1.1.C.0.0? Most ROMS say they are for this firmware and have to be installed through CWM, so there MUST be a way..
I hope this is not a to dumb question (but I really didn't find any help through search) and someone can help me, thanks in advance
first Xrecovery via AAIS (search XDA) then install cwm via xrecovery. It's really simple, trust me
use flashtool 0.2.9.1 beta to root and install busybox & xrecovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10738287
then flash cwm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105745
I've tried both, nothing works. I get xRecovery, but as soon as I flash CWM, I cant get into it...
I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105745. I press the back button repeadetly, but nothing happens for CWM...
I also tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106146 as it looks like its specificly for mini pro, but it needs CWM to install... how am I supposed to install CWM only through CWM?? This makes no sense to me I even tried the manual copy method from this side, but it seems that CWM doesent recognize the back key pressed...
I dont know whats the problem, maybe I try to recover through SEUS and start everything over on a fresh firmware, maybe some testing messed something up.
I cant find any information, if I have to do anything else for 2.1.1.C.0.0 firmware, maybe I have to edit something for chargemon?

Go to HERE and download Flashtool 0.4.2.0, with it, you can root, install xrecovery and unlock bootloader, if you wish.
You need have android 2.3.3, and don´t downgrade kernel.
If you want, install stock firmware.
It´s easy.
right, so do i just click install recovery?
because i rooted it, exactly like that, im running busybox version 1.8.4 or something like that, someone told me it automatically installed xrecovery when i rooted it... is this true? thanks
When you root phone with flashtool, it just root your phone. For install xrecovery you need click on install xrecovery, and when it over, you have xrecovery installed.

Yes, you click the install recovery button. And no, when you root your phone, xrecovery is not added.
A little reminder also, you will never break the x10 by flashing to many times. So every time you run into something like accidentally downgrading kernels, just flash stock FW and start over. Again, the only true way for someone to permanently damage the x10 is only by damaging the USB port. So hold dear to that little port.
Hope you resolve your issue brah. Peace
