I am currently trying to port CM6 to the Optimus V. I am running into some problems though. It boots, but there is no service/data. When you look in status of the phone, everything is unknown. Am I missing something here?
Ive also been trying this to with no avail. Seems like its a big secret how to get signal on this rom lol.

I got my vibrant running 2.2 in early December unfortunately I don't know what rom I am running. I have been wanting to install black froyo theme but it says not compatible with Jk6 I really am hesitant about flashing a rom so on figure I start with a theme and get comfortable but i really don't know what rom is on this phone. I know it was flashed before I got the phone and if i do get any rom I need wifi calling and all i know is this runs it decently stable so I am happy with it since I need it.
This is what it says under about
Firmware 2.2
Baseband T959UVJK6
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Build number FROYO. UVJK6
So I really don't know of I am compatible with black froyo that is the one for non Nero listed under themes
On the sd it seems there are multiple zip files with rom names so this makes it even more difficult here is what's on the sd
ObsidianV5.Zip
Fusion12_stock.Zip
StockJK6_v2.zip
That seems to be it. Yes i am rooted and I did titanium back up last night I feel like I am getting a little more audacious to finally do this and maybe sometime soon flash a new rom I just do. That's want to lose my wifi calling and is there way to get the phone exactly the way it is now if I screwed up? I been reading up 2 noob guides and it doesn't seem hard at all but i figure I start small. Thanks for any help in advance

Just upgrade your modem. I know you are hesitant but it's relatively easy and there are better modems out from the JK6.

pick one and go to town. I can personally verify it working on JL1,4,and 5.
why not just DL Nero v3? Then you know its compatible..
Nero3 does not have wifi calling. I absolutely need that on my rom.
Blizzard you can confirm that blackfroyo is working on your JI5 or you mean wifi calling on JI5? sorry my eyes are crossing here.
I am still trying to get a handle on what has what effect. Id flash Nero3 in a heartbeat if I knew wifi calling worked on it. Same with Axura but it doesnt look like its offered on either one
Hey,
I've tried almost all 2.2.1 ROMs now, frost, darky, atriarc, loki yet on none of these ROMs could I get the aGPS to work. It works flawlessly on 2.2 ROMs otherwise... What could be wrong?
I've tried faster fix, gingerbread.zip and sgps.zip from the forums, etc. already..
Sent from Bionix on Vibrant
then go back to 2.2... i don't see much change between 2.2 and 2.2.1 since we had voodoo on 2.2
but w/e
My gps was perfect when I was on Frost, after flashing sgps. Have you tried the hardware fix?

I have Simply Honey 2.5 with GPS fix plus there is another forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878970
This one has made my GPS best its ever been and probably best it will ever be considering it is Samsung..
Well, I did that immediately when I noticed that the 2.2.1 ROM isn't locking on... I had just replaced back the FFC mod camera and then I was planning to run 2.2.1 so that I can benefit from its camera firmware. So I thought maybe I screwed up the contact.
But that didn't happen. Once i flashed 2.2 back, i got a GPS lock in 15-17 seconds on every cold start.
Installed the sGPS.zip and Gingerbread.zip too, alternatively, and together, also done an ODIN and then fresh install, but none of it helps... Tried fasterfix too for India...
Anyone else facing this problem ???
i have been using my optimus v for close to a year now. i got it right when they had their huge data outage last year. i have had official 3g data on it for 2 weeks, then kaput...nothing. i have had service turned back on twice in this year and neither time have i had 3g.
im running a CM7 port (BOBZHOME CM7RC1) on my phone now, but the 3g didnt work in stock either. phone does though.
virgin has "restarted" my 3g from their end countless times and walked me through stuff on my phone. nothing has worked. the only weird thing i can find is that my MEID looks different from my wife's (she has an optimus v as well). her actual MEID is close, but hers is preceded by a large number in (##) parenthesis. could it be some problem with that?
and i have read and read through the forums for the development of my CM7 port, the official CM7 version that was ported and even other people having similar problems on other phones. there are no loss of 3g problems with my port according to the community or the developers. so, might not be the rom.
are there any little tricks i can try or any way i have to have my phone set up or any apps that might be interfering? its driving me nuts!! just paid for a month and cant use data!!
didnt work in stock or CM7 with android 2.3.4 or 2.3.5.

Which baseband version do you have? v20G or v10E? Oh and you might of switched to "Use only 2G networks" mode. You can check by going to settings-Wireless and networks-mobile networks-then you will see it at the bottom
baseband says "unknown"
And the option for "2g" only isn't there.

no such critter.
you can get it for the optimus s, but the pv4 and pv5 baseband cab files released by lg for the optimus v are each missing a dll file that lets the phone service tools fully unpack the cab to bin, prl, scr, etc.
if you use the optimus s firmware/radio, you will permanently lose that 3g connection you're trying to recover.
ok. i fixed it. i had to do what i was dreading doing from the beginning. i flashed back to the stock and ran the activation app. the activation failed but my 3g turned right on. and right after that i rebooted into recovery and flashed the latest bobzhome CM7.2 port. still works.
also, the clockwork recovery i have doesnt have a button command to boot into recovery. so, if you flash to the stock you will not be able to reboot into recovery from the OS and might not be able to use a button commands. what i had to do was plug in the usb and use an ADB command.
adb reboot recovery

and boom, i was on my way. glad i had my PC set up to send ADB commands.
your lucky, I live in North Eastern Pennsylvania and we have no 3g
Hey guys. Little new to the TBolt crew here.
I've been rooting for a bit. Did an HTC Hero, a DROID Eric, an Incredible... Now I've got a TBolt sitting here that I just rooted about an hour ago. It was running 4G just fine both before and after the root, but after installing a CM7 ROM (SFK's to be precise) I haven't seen 4G pop up since. I've tried a couple other CM7 roms, but nothing seems to make a difference - it only runs on 3G.
I was thinking it might be a radio problem, but admittedly I'm pretty novice with this stuff. I just flash what sounds interesting, and if it's not as stable as I'd like I find something else to flash. Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong? And what I can download to fix it?
EDIT: After giving up and deciding to go back to my backup of "stock" that I'd just made... now it's failing to properly back up. This wonderful error about data being corrupted with the only button available being "I'm Feeling Lucky" and still no 4G, only 3G. Now I'm at a complete loss.
I have a Nexus sitting next to me clearly connected to 4G just fine, so I know it's not a network issue. What the heck is going on here?
I'm sure you have, but never know... have you checked your wireless network settings?
Settings--Wireless & Networks--Mobile Networks--Network Mode.
Make sure LTE/CDMA is selected.

most roms are built with a specific radio in mind i would try to flash one of the newer radios they work better drain less battery and are more compatible with rooted roms.
Hello, I recently found a TP2 taking care of my dust and I was wondering if there are any Android ROMs for the phone. I know there are some, but I wanna know what's the ROM with the newest version of Android.
Thanks.

the newest android version you can get is 2.3.7 gingerbread
thanks to xdandroid

battery indicator is kinda broken and also my phone used to overheat.... alot. there's also the froyo build (2.2 version), which might be more stable.
you have to find out for yourself which one works the best.
there's also an android 4 rom, but lots of features are not working. check it out yourself.

Why do you say the wifi doesn't work? I've been using Android on my Rhodium since June 2012 and I don't have problems with wifi--bluetooth, yes, but not wifi.
What makes you say it doesn't work? Is it not showing any wireless networks?
what version of the rhodium do you have? RHOD100? RHOD400? I have a RHOD400, and the devs are also using RHOD400's. They don't guarantee complete functionality on non-RHOD400's (that's actually mentioned somewhat by wizardknight at the end of post #1 of the GBX0* thread that wizardknight linked above
Hello, I too am having lots of troubles with finding a ROM that will work on my RHOD300. I started the whole install with a GBX_3.4.35_Full, then the GBX_3.4.26.13_FULL then the OMGB 1.2.3 May 4 and finally the OMGB Jan 16, and all of them have given me a non-working wi-fi. When I enable the bluetooth it actually turns on ok.
I've been using my HTC TP2 for 4 years as a WinMO phone and finally decided that I'd give this Android thing a try. The wi-fi has been working for me all along.
When I first installed the GBX it was giving me Wi-Fi error (viewing in Wireless & network settings). After I switched to the OMGB ROM I'm now getting a Wi-Fi turning on... and the option is grayed out.
I've been searching around and reading through these forums and I'm trying to find solutions, but nothing seems to work. The wifi-nvram-generic.txt file option I wish I could try but unfortunately I don't know the phones mac address without booting back into a WinMo phone.
I would be grateful if somebody could help me sort this out as I really do need to have wifi on my phone, otherwise my smart phone isn't so smart after all...
I've taken my RHOD100 out of the dust, and fired it up to NAND flash it with te 2.3.7 xda ROM. I used the GBX0*+3.4.26.13 Full for my device. Although it's not very snappy, it's acceptable after recalibrating the touch screen. Don't expect miracles. Wifi is working fine. Haven't tested BT yet.
The 3.4.35 version did boot a bit, but didn't get past the bootscreen, which seemed to be in an unending loop.
I doubt the GPS is working.. GPS test didn't get a fix in 15 minutes and did not see any satelites. Also no support for front camera... but hey.. who cares
